The idea of Sigrid joining hands with Viking Grimr Eriksson is laughable--they're sworn enemies after all!--until her half brother's treachery reignites the feud between their rival families. Now Sigrid must silence the war drums by wedding the new Eriksson jarl.
Yet even resourceful Sigrid's diplomacy is tested by a husband whose stubbornness infuriates her even if his battle-honed body entices... There seems to be no getting past the distrustful warrior's defenses, but when the king demands they produce an heir, can they put aside their loathing and give in to their longing?

Lucy Morris writes a banger Viking novel. If you want something bananas with a lot of steam, she should be a go-to author.
Sigrid has been betrothed to Hakon Eriksson, her family's rival jarl, by an order from the King. But her terrible half brother has decided to use the wedding to take out his enemies. He's leveraged Sigrid's love for their baby sister to make her complicit in his lies to the king. When everything goes wrong, the king forces Sigrid into marriage with Grimr Eriksson, Hakon's younger brother and the new jarl. Sigrid and Grimr are physically attracted each other but do not get along in any other way. But they need each other in order to satisfy the king's demands and get Sigrid's sister back.
If you are looking for a book where the two main characters truly hate each other but want to bang it out, look no further than Wedding Night with Her Viking Enemy. There's a lot of complaining on the internet that enemies-to-lovers has gotten too soft or too vague. Well that is not the case here. Grimr blames Sigrid for everything that happened with her half brother while Sigrid thinks Grimr is a cold asshole who doesn't respect her. They get into explosive fights in public and then want to rip each other's clothes off. It's pretty hot.
Just a heads up, there is a lot of talk about pregnancy in this book so that could be triggering to some. Sigrid has some pretty serious menstrual cramps and irregular periods which cause problems for her on page. Obviously we can't diagnose her but based on her symptoms she probably has something like endometriosis or PMDD. Her periods are irregular, she has severe cramps and nausea, plus she seems to experience some mood and anxiety issues. Just be aware going in that these things are discussed.
This was a great category romance. I always enjoy myself with a Lucy Morris Viking romance and this was no exception. 4 stars.
I liked Sigrid at the beginning since she was so protective of her sister. Somewhere in the middle she just became a shrew. I understand she doesn’t trust men but I think it went to the extreme. The book got better at the end when Grimr was able to share more with Sigrid and she would actually listen.
If you look up "shrew" on google, you get a picture of Sigrid as a result. That woman was so annoying, she made me hate the whole book. The only good thing to happen was the little sister and the middle brother.
At the start of this book, Lucy Morris explains how she wrote a short story about a burly Viking (Her Bought Viking Husband) who happened to have two equally burly brothers. And fans wrote and demanded stories for these brothers - which is how the Eriksson Brothers’ series was born. It was me. I am fans. And I’m so excited that Grimr gets his story first.
But first - this cover. Dear God this cover. I could swoon for days over this couple, their pose and the sheer longing in their gazes. If I was Lucy Morris I would paper my whole house with this book cover.
This book starts off with all three Eriksson brothers together. When they get separated, that’s when this story and Her Bought Viking Husband both start. So they’re happening, at the beginning at least, on the same time frame. But you definitely don’t need to have read Hakon’s story to enjoy and understand this one as each stands completely alone.
And so to Sigrid and Grimr’s story…
Sigrid and Grimr start off on the wrong foot. Their families are old and current enemies and Sigrid is actually set to marry Hakon, Grimr’s brother. Which really makes Grimr’s intense attraction towards Sigrid really darn inconvenient for him.
Grimr is grumpy by nature and I have to say, it really worked for me. He hated himself for what he deemed as a betrayal of his older brother and it showed in all his interactions with Sigrid. He was, however, easy to like and came across like a big ol’ teddy bear. Where Grimr is grumpy - Sigrid is feisty. And she lived up to this at every opportunity. She pushes back against everything she sees as wrong with Grimr and how he treats her. It made for some entertaining and exciting moments. I do enjoy the push and pull of a couple who start off as enemies.
The change from enemies to companions then onto something more was so subtle. It was just lovely. It felt special and I loved reading about their journey. Neither lost their character or their spark for each other and by the end I was absolutely delighted in their love story.
Lucy Morris’s writing always captivates me and in her Viking stories is where she really excels. But this one exceeded all my expectations - which were pretty darn high to begin with. It made me laugh, it made me swoon and it even left me teary eyed with the final scene. We’re coming to the end of the year but this made it up there as one of the best. Definitely 5 stars and highly recommended.
I did like this but the miscommunication was wayyyyyy to much like once or twice sure but christ every time they spoke it was like two different conversations happening! It got a little tedious after the first five times
This book is about two people who just need therapy. If Grimir being constantly degraded and Sigrid being super entitled and lacking accountability for almost 24 chapters is romance…yikes
My book club and I wanted a corney romance book for a fun, light read- but almost turned it into a drinking game due to the amount of italicized words used. Ultimately, we decided that would be dangerous 😂

Sigrid has been caring for her 11 year old sister since her sister’s birth. She’s fine with the political marriage her brother arranged and her betrothed Hakon Eriksson seems nice. Hakon’s brother Grimr, on the other hand, is cold and menacing. It turns out that Sigrid’s evil brother wants to murder the Eriksson brothers and is holding the little sister hostage to ensure Sigrid’s compliance.
The title of this books really places too much importance on the wedding night. The story is about them going on adventures, getting married about halfway through, then them settling into married life.
I personally always like a heroine who isn’t immediately lovable or relatable. I also like reading about people who might not express their feelings well. Sigrid doesn’t cry when she’s upset, she gets angry. When her evil brother causes trouble, Sigrid’s main priority is always escaping and saving her sister. It might seem that she should ask the Eriksson brothers for help, but why would she trust random men when she has her own plan?
I like how she fights with her husband. And I really like how her husband starts to notice her love languages are caretaking and yelling.
Spiciness is 4/5.
A related story is in Convenient Vows with a Viking.
Who wouldn’t enjoy a captivating adventure on a ship with a big grumpy Viking and his sworn nemesis in this enemies-to-lovers trope?
I’ve always looked forward to reading this story, so when Lucy Morris sent it out as an e-arc, I couldn’t wait to grab it and read it in one sitting! Ah, Sigrid and Grimr’s story begins with an unexpected plot twist. The family feud between Erikssons and Siguardssons has deteriorated, particularly when Sigrid’s half-brother became the leader. The king has arranged a marriage alliance between these two families yet, everything turned ugly and that is how the story becomes more and more gripping.
As Sigrid has no alternative but save both Erikssons brothers and her sister, she has tried her best, yet Grimr’s bed-tempered and accusation brought them on the Viking voyage to Iceland. Oh I loved this part so much, as I felt like I was on the ship, enjoying their journey with the storm and the intricacies of the sea. It took my imagination into a higher level!
Despite their attempt to diminish the King’s wrath after what has happened and to save Sigrid’s sister, they are united in marriage. Sigrid and Grimr keep on bickering and arguing but the King’s order must be carried out or Sigrid will never see her sister.
Grimr is absolutely grumpy, bad-tempered and annoying, and no one can match him except Sigrid, and he always annoys and brings out all bad emotions in her, but behind his attitude, he is so caring and attentive. Their hidden compassion, which makes their marriage journey become more engaging and burning. I can’t say more than that I loved it very much. It is a perfect enemies-to-lovers trope with captivating adventure and folklore, compelling characters and a gripping plot.
Holy hell was it good. I found out its a spin off of a novella she wrote - (which I recommend reading before as it give backstory and these brothers) Her Bought Viking Husband by Lucy Morris within Convenient Vows with a Viking This is the perfection of an enemies to lovers romance. The angst- rage- hate was just perfect! These two hate each other but also don’t. We get a trip to Iceland and then him having to become jarl and marrying her- orders from the king. They have to figure out married life together. Fast - wonderful plot- fun side characters.
I hope we get another one with his little brother. I just loved these two books- the Norway- Iceland settings. The viking daily life but also just the couples.
Wedding Night with Her Viking Enemy is the story of Sigrid and Grimr - two characters who hate each other but are thrown together, finding themselves in a marriage of convenience by royal decree. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this story, especially after having met these two characters in a previous story. The unwanted attraction between Sigrid and Grimr is there from the very beginning and it gets stronger and stronger, the chemistry between them undeniable. I loved the way they gradually overcome their mistrust of each other, finding that they're actually perfect for each other.
Well, this was a real enemies to lovers book!!! And a great one at that! Grimr and Sigrid really hate each other at the beginning, even if they feel a certain attraction, and it takes them a lot of time to find their way to each other. They are undoubtedly two difficult people who have suffered and have trouble trusting others. I found them extremely well developed as characters and of course I loved the writing and the little info on Viking traditions and their way of living sprinkled about in the story. Wonderful book!
I loved this!! These two butted heads for most of the book but they had their reasons for doing so. They both expressed their feelings for each other in actions. One of my favorite scenes is when he sent for a healer because she was getting real painful cramps. He felt bad for her when she has to drink a concoction that was nasty but then when he had to drink half of it their reaction was so funny.

at the begining the hero and heroine do NOT get on and are nearly always arguing. i don't like the hero really. really i don't feel they a good fit and if it would work in the long run. it did take me 2 weeks to read this book as i lost inteste in it but finiale finished it. there is a 3rd book coming out with the youngest brother and he seems more fun so that might be good.
Wonderful story of Sigrid and Grimr, enemies forced to marry. Loved these characters, the journey they take and how their love grows as they go. Be prepared to feel like you are on the voyage with them. Couldn't put it down.
This was an absolute delight to read on an inclement yet quiet Boxing Day. It sucked me back in time, thank you Lucy Morris! Can’t wait to read her next book.
Thank you to Mills & Boon and Lucy Morris for granting me the opportunity to receive an eArc for Wedding Night With Her Viking Enemy in exchange for a fair and honest review.
Lucy Morris has a magical way of bringing the Viking world alive in vivid detail and imbuing real-life struggles that are relatable to us in the present day. Her storytelling is gripping with lots of unexpected twists that had my heart on a knife edge for most of the book as Grimr and Sigrid dance around each other after being forced together through betrayal and royal decree to end the feuding by their families. They seem to bring out the worst in each other's company, and their energies are always sparking off each other with lots of angst, rage, and denial about their mutual attraction.
I love how Lucy Morris captures the vibrancy of a character's personality with the smallest details to bring them to life. This remarkable attention to detail is entrenched in all the characters featured in the story, even if they appear for only a couple of pages. She masterfully creates realistically flawed, temperamental characters with lots of emotional baggage and walls around their hearts that are almost insurmountable.
Grimr might wear his bad-tempered nature and scowl like armour, but underneath, he's a big grump with a gooey caramel core! Sigrid hides behind her cold and biddable front to achieve her one goal: keep her sister safe and secure her freedom. She's at heart; she is strong, brave, and loyal, and she is worthy of her love. Finding their way to each other is a difficult road of highs and lows in their romance, challenging them to really see each other through their mistrust, build connections, and find trust, revealing how perfect they are for each other.
A perfect Viking romance full of captivating storytelling, gripping adventure, compelling characters, and an enemies-to-lovers romance to keep you on the edge of your seat. If you love the historical romance writing of Nicola Cornick or Christina Courtenay, you will love a Wedding Night With Her Viking Enemy.
