Cupcake baker Nelly needs to make it to her sister’s cabin for her birthday, but grumpy mountain woman Lora is the only one available to drive her. When a storm causes a tree to fall and block their path, they’re forced to take shelter in Lora’s cozy cabin. And there’s only one bed.
Wild Love is a steamy sapphic instalove short romance featuring a thirty-two-year-old mountain woman falling for the sweetest girl in town.
This quick read Sapphic romance/women loving women.Pansexual main character.Lesbian main character.Grumpy/Sunshine.Age gap romance (22/32).Best friend’s little sister/Older sister’s best friend.A cozy cabin with only one bed.V-card.Teach me vibes.Beater licking.Steamy scenes.Consent is sexy.Dual POV.Happily Ever After ending.And cupcakes.
Short and sweet. Nelly is a baker in town looking for a relationship, with anyone. On the way to her older sister's birthday, being driven by her sister's best friend Lora, a storm blocks their way, but luckily Lora's cabin is close by. Can something develop with her older sister's best friend. Nicely done.
This was very cute, fun, short, and enjoyable to read. I really liked Nelly (the other one was fine too) who was absolutely adorable. There’s a fairly decent story with a lot of details packed into this very short little story. Spicy bits too! Eggbeaters, dang.
At the same time it was also very short, and even though I was warned about the instalove it was still incredibly “fast paced”. Given that this is so quick to read I think it’s fun and you should give it a go, but don’t expect the content of a full length novel
Nelly is still a virgin and wants to find someone special to share herself with. Lora has been harboring feelings for Nelly since she came back to town a year ago. I don’t mind instalove stories because if it feels right go for it. I enjoyed their story and it was very steamy.
Had the absolute pleasure of reading an ARC of this book before it was published. And I enjoyed it! The characters are interesting, the plot is good and I think it's got a good amount of steam to it. Would have loved to read more of Nelly and Lora's love story.
a super quick & cozy read. I enjoyed this one, it got me out of a slump, maybe because it was sapphic, maybe because it was just a cozy feel good novella, who knows. but it was worth the read. I do wish it was a longer book though.
🏳️🌈 sapphic romance 💖 grumpy x sunshine ✨ age gap romance 🤭 best friend’s little sister 🪵 cabin with one bed 🫶🏼 teach me & many more.
Going into this book didn't know what to expect 🤭 but I truly enjoyed it. Though it was a bit too short for me😞 I would have wanted it to last a little longer.
Potential but lowkey flopped bc their ending felt rushed 😵💫🫣 and they’re married in a year??? Uhaul lesbian to the max (I know it’s a short story but there’s short and then there’s .2 seconds of plot) which in this case was a negative lol
Super quick sweet and sexy read! Nelly has returned to her hometown from the city about a year ago. She loves it. She knows everyone and they know her. Doesn’t make for a great setup to meet your love. Lora sees Nelly for the beautiful woman she is but she’s best friends with Nelly’s older sister and there is a ten year age gap between them. Are they meant to be?
This was a short sweet Sapphic romance. It was tropey and hopeful and just the right amount of spice. The age gap doesn't feel awful, and I like the characters together.
I was a little nervous when I began reading this. I think sometimes shorter stories suffer for their length. The characters aren’t developed enough making it difficult to connect to them or the plot feels rushed. Particularly with romances, the relationship feels unrealistic and “insta-love” in a not good way.
I found though that the characters and plot were all there, just in a short format. I think the “insta-love” trope benefits from the fact the main characters know each other and have a history together prior to the spark being ignited.
Just the right amount of spicy, I read through in one sitting. My only iffy part came at the end where things did feel a little rushed/wrapped up quickly. I don’t think everything needed the neat little bow on top, if that makes sense. Felt a bit unnecessary.
Can’t wait to read the next installment! (And I was lucky enough to snag an ARC!)
Wild Love was exactly as advertised while packing tons of story into a small package. I was very impressed with the author's storytelling, flow, and character development, especially considering the page limit they were working with. I have seen other forced proximity or best friend's sister books have an almost equal amount of character development with 4x the pages. Even the spice was exactly as advertised by the title, steamy.
Lastly, as a bit of a spelling nerd who has DNFed books before because of the lack of proofreading, I was also absolutely thrilled with the lack of typos, there may have been one or two but they were so inconsequential I don't even remember them now, definitely did not detract from the story.
Overall, TL:DR, this book is exactly what it says it's going to be (in a good way), and is a really fun lunch hour read.
I saw reviews that said this book was short but I didn't expect it to be quite that short! I did enjoy it although it wasn't quite my cup of tea - I think I would have preferred a slightly longer story where you could really get to know the characters. With that said, Gemma did introduce the main characters quite well in such a short book.
The romance was sweet, but some of the dialogue felt a bit immature for the age of the characters. Like I know u-haulling and all those lesbian stereotypes exist for a reason but saying you're going to be together forever when you've hooked up for the first time is a bit extreme 😬

This is a short, sweet instalove story that, though short still makes sense. I’ve read some in the past that just didn’t and ruined the whole story. It’s probably the fact the characters have known each other for years, but didn’t know each other’s preferences that made it feel less cringe. I’m not good with instalove stories but I’d probably read more by this author. This book also makes you want cupcakes. It’s 11pm as I type this and I’m trying to figure out what shops are open late Sunday night as I desperately want cake!
in a major slump so searching for something short and sweet… this was uhh… not it for me.
I didn’t care for the characters with such a short text, I didn’t care for the relationship, in fact it was like they kept giving me reason to oppose their relationship.
really early on sapphic was used when i believe the author meant lesbian… as the character discussed not being attracted to men at all… whereas in being pansexual the character was already sapphic.
Anyway.. I guess it’s a fun read if you’re simply looking for something smutty/ fanfic-esque without the appeal of known characters.
Thank you to author Gemma for the ARC! This book is exactly what it says it is. A short, spicy, sapphic instalove romance with cupcakes. While the on page relationship is short, our MCs have known each other for years. Nelly moved back to her small home town a year ago and Lora has been falling for her ever since. Overall, I'd highly recommend if you're in the mood for a quick read.
4 stars. Age gap, best friend’s little sister smutty good time with the one bed trope. I liked this. The writing was okay, not my favorite but Lora and Nelly were likable and their chemistry was hot and believable. The drama at the end felt extremely forced but whatever. It didn’t last too long so I wasn’t annoyed by it or anything. This was a fun and sexy time.
This short novella is full of spice, and I'm glad I got my hands on it!
There's chemistry, and then there's Lora and Nelly chemistry. Oof!! The fast pace is everything you'd expect from a novella, and it kept me on my toes without a minute to waste while I read it. Suffice to say, I read it on sitting and wished it wouldn't end.
With this story being as short as it is I think it was good and had a cute vibe, having said that I did kinda get a little irritated at the drama that felt out of place with the characters.

This was such a cute read. It's the first sapphic book I've read, and also the first by Gemma Addison Dove. I really liked the emphasis on consent in the sexual encounters, and I'm a sucker for a rugged mountain woman.
I received a free copy of this book. It’s very short (74 pages), but a cute little romance that has some steam to it. It has a lot of tropes like just one bed, trapped in a storm. A nice, and easy read.
I thought this grumpy / sunshine novella was both sweet and spicy! Sister's best friend works so well here. I appreciated the baking scene! I'd recommend this book for a quick read!
