Dave Gorman: Genius: Series 1, 2 & 3

Rate this book
All three complete BBC Radio 4 series, where Dave Gorman and celebrity guests consider the ridiculous, unworkable but sometimes genius ideas of the public. Series 1 - In a quest to unearth a genius idea, Dave Gorman, with the help of special guests Paul Daniels, Richard Madeley, John Fortune, Neil Innes and Stewart Lee peruse a parade of proposals to sort the worthy from the worthless, the inspired from the insipid, and decide which pitch wins the legendary ‘Genius’ trophy. Ideas proposed include using laughing gas to quell rioters, a bubble wrap stress-buster, a 99p coin and running the House of Commons by the rules of ‘Just a Minute’. Series 2 - Special guests Johnny Vegas, Armando Iannucci, Chris Addison, Brian Sewell, Carol Vorderman and Sid Waddell help Dave pore over another pot pourri of plots, plans, inventions and scams sent in by Radio 4 listeners. They include Bovril as a fizzy drink, turning parking meters into fruit machines, virtual reality headsets for chickens and perforated bread (which is the best thing since sliced bread). Series 3 - Germaine Greer, Gyles Brandreth, Matthew Wright, Rob Newman, Charlie Brooker and Simon Munnery try to unearth genuine gems of genius from some of a conveyor bed duvet, Lego prisons, talking parrots – and even an improved ‘Genius’ voting system! Bonus Includes the 2008 Christmas special with Lee Mack.
