Lendas do Brasil by Elsa Magalhães is a good introduction to Brazilian folklore for children. Some of the illustrations are very well done and add visual interest to the stories. The texts are short, simple, and easy to read, making the book suitable for reading aloud to young children.
I read it to my daughter before bedtime here in Italy, and it works well as a way to introduce her to elements of Brazilian culture and folklore in a clear and accessible format. The stories are concise and appropriate for children’s attention spans, which makes the book practical for everyday reading.
