“Do you know what your problem is, Lady Charity Manners?”
She shook her head slowly, not wanting to dislodge his touch or break the spellbinding connection between them. “I don’t know. What is it?”
“Your problem is that you’ve never asked enough of the people who should care for you most,” he said with great feeling. “You’ve settled for far less than what you deserve.
“Your problem,” he concluded, “is that you don’t know your worth, when what you truly are is priceless.”
Sigh….and here is where I fell in love with Neville Astley, fifteenth Viscount Wilton. He's rigid and grumpy, an introvert through and through. Very particular, possibly neurodivergent, brilliant in his own right. He's also kind and caring and just the best kinda guy. He's never met a rule he did not follow…that is until he meets Lady Charity Manners – a woman who believes rules are made to be broken and has no qualms doing just that. Charity and Neville together are a beautiful thing to read. Oil and water. Fire and ice. That's what they are. Yet, despite being polar opposites, they are drawn to one another and get into all sorts of naughtiness in Forever Her Viscount.
Speaking of naughty, y'all the house party they are attending will go down in infamy. The setting for this book as well as the others in the series is simply scandalous. The purpose of the party is for women to build awareness around women's suffrage…but uh rah…these women have been dropping drawls and snapping up husbands left and right…in gardens…in libraries..in bed chambers..I dare say there's quite a bit of hunching going on at this here party.
Anywho, after a scandalous rumor wrecked her reputation and ruined her engagement, Charity was done with men. But after spending time with Neville Astley, Viscount Wilton, a brooding recluse thrust into society as his niece's guardian, she's not so sure any more. Determined to avoid romance and Charity’s rebellious charm, a spark ignites between the rule-abiding lord and the rule-breaking lady. The question is do they see how big this spark grows or douse the flames of their passion before they burn out of control.
The story is engaging and all sorts of adorable. Especially Neville and his puns.
I loved this addition to the series...and quite frankly find it hard to rank it among its predecessors. All I CAN say is read it. Enjoy it. Love it. I sure did!
