The main character of this series seems to be getting more than her share of bad things happening to her and the stranger she rescued is getting it almost as bad. This time the stranger was found beaten severely by the watch guard patrolling their boarding house. They also nearly get attacked by at least 9 hired thugs hired by the main character's father. Yeah, I didn't see that coming either. I definitely recommend this book and look forward to the next one.

And what a cliffhanger of an ending!!!! One you won’t see coming, but if you’ve read the Dragon Guard series, you may have been wondering what and when something would happen…

Read these books! I’m off to start book four- can’t wait!

I love Vanka in this story. She’s a great character to hate and it’s interesting to see what she does in this different setting. The dramatic irony is rich as the likable MC gets tangled up in stuff she can’t begin to understand.

A great storyline
