****This book is part of a blog tour, I received a copy in exchange for my honest review****

This book starts out with Jessica going to a New Years Eve party at her friends’ house, the next morning the make a list of qualities the perfect man for them would have. Jessica recently moved back to San Diego with her two children, her husband left her and she is emotionally messed up because of this. She doesn't want anything series so when she meets the hot cop Mick, she decides to have a post divorce fling. When things start to get series she has to decide if she is willing to open up and possibly be hurt again. Jessica was a smart, responsible, loving and a wonderful mother. Mick was a hot cop, who never let anyone get close. He always put the job first, when he meets Jessica his thinking begins to change. I liked the beginning of this book and the close friendship Jessica shares with Heather. I did want to see more interactions between Jessica and her other friends though. Jessica earned my respect when she decided not to mix her fling and her kids; she didn't want her kids to have another person leave them. I was disappointed when the relationship started to get series and Jessica still refused to let Mick interact with her kids. The sex scenes were mild/hot, a few of the scenes were more telling instead of showing. I enjoyed the simplicity of this book, it was a straight forward love story.

Originally posted at A Date with a Book

I was excited to review this book and the entire series of books. This series is about a group of girls, friends from college, and their getting together on New Year’s Eve. When they were in college, they made a list of qualities they wanted to find in a husband. With all of them single again, they make a new list and challenge to find someone by next year.

This book is focused on Jessie and her story of finding a man. Jessie has just moved back home to San Diego after her cheating husband leaves her. Jessie moves in with her parents so they can help out with the children while she works. Charlie ends up missing and the cops are called. Mick shows up to help during the search. Quickly finding his chance to ask her on a date, they soon find themselves enamored with one another.

This was a quick read and a lot of fun. I found familiarness to the Nora Roberts trilogies or quartets where friends and romance are involved. I absolutely loved this book. Even though it is a short book, I did not feel rushed or that there wasn’t enough information or story. If you love a cute romance with a little steamy situations, this book is for you.

Jessica “Jessie” Jones is ready to move on after her husband left her and their children. Jessica returns home ready to put the past behind and let her life as a single mom begin, but her new plans are quickly derailed when she meets Detective Mick Landers after her son goes missing temporarily.

Mick has never had the reaction he has with Jessie, but he is smitten no doubt about it. As a detective he knows how to handle situations and he seems to have one with Jessie who has no problem being alone with him, but he wants more including being a part of her family and she is making it difficult for him to prove how much he cares for her and her family.

I liked this story a lot, I thought the introduction with friends kind of baring all was a perfect way to get you to understand Jessie. Mick is fabulous and patient with Jessie trying to be understanding to her needs. There is one really fun scene in this book that had me chuckling quite a bit. Great story.

The novel starts as a game for Jessica to get back on that horse and saddle up as her divorce with her ex-husband Pete has been finalised. Over drinks, Melissa pulls out a list - a list of the things that they wanted to achieve when they "grew up". For Jessica, the list is now a goal for her to find a man and move on from Pete the Loser. Now it's up for her and her friends to find Jess a date by New Years Eve and if she doesn't then its "Find Fred" for her. While out with her friends , tragedy strikes pulling Jessica back to reality and landing the handsome Detective Mick on her doorstep. As sparks fly , is Mick the guy for Jess or when he discovers that she comes complete with two little ones will he take a step back ?
Will Mick be a A) No-Hoper , B) a Fling or C) something more ? Find out all this and more in the first book of Jill Limber's New Years Eve Club Series.

It takes place in San Diego, many familiar landmarks. A true romance novel. Jessie comes home with her son - failed marriage. Handsome detective, she decides to have a fling.......
Romance is the best-selling genre in fiction. This publisher only publishes online - which is very smart because romance readers are always looing for another book.

Jill pens "Loving Mick" in a fast paced plot that is filled with romance, suspense and a bit of hot sex thrown in. With real life tragedies and relationships this book will keep you wanting to read the rest of the series.
