I wanted to conquer the world.
She wanted to gaze at the stars.

It’s been twelve years since I last saw Scottie Rucker. A grim prognosis has upended my life, and no amount of my hard-earned money can fix it. So, after leaving a note on the nightstand, I search for my first love—I search for life.

When I find her in Austin, working at a quaint general store and living in an RV behind it, those twelve years vanish. She’s exactly how I remember her.

Scottie thinks our reunion is a small-world coincidence, and I’m not ready to tell her the truth. After we rekindle our friendship, she convinces me to work part-time at the store while she pursues her budding relationship with Koen, a welder and the grandson of a customer.

Scottie’s ability to live in the moment is exactly what I need. But how do I convince her new boyfriend that I’m not his competition?

And what happens if my heart changes its mind?

'𝐈 𝐓H𝐎U𝐆H𝐓 𝐎F Y𝐎U' is a full length unique, unputdownable, contemporary romance book by Author Jewel E. Ann. Spoken in 'dual perspectives.' In this you'll meet Price, Scottie and Koen.

Not going to lie, this one pulled me through the wringer and spat me back out again, like a yo-yo one minute I didn’t know weither to smile, laugh or cry, and yet this authors quirky sense of humour shone through.

Twelve years ago they spent a whirlwind summer together which neither of them forgot. The summer between his Junior and senior years of college, and she was working at a modern day apothecary that he visited.

He wanted to conquer the world
She lived day by day.

She was the one that let him go
Her first love
Her first heartbreak

She wanted him to fight tooth and nail for her, but he never did.

35421646

Now on a mission and twelve years later Price rolls into town, Austin Texas, where Scottie works at Dummond's General Store and lives in a vintage airstream trailer behind the store. Him turning up out of the blue, had many a question arising. A strategic plan all thought out, he’s got a secret which he's running from, and she’s the only one that can shroud him in her light.

Scotty is pretty intuitive and knows something is wrong but can't pinpoint what it is.

Not that long after Price reappeared in her life an elderly man, who is one of her favourite customers suggests she go out on a blind date with his grandson Koen, his only mention was that he’s a shy guy.

Both aren’t the greatest at first dates, so he tries to break the ice before the actual date. It’s cute, it's sweet. And what could’ve been a disaster turns out to be perfect.

He's the one that makes her think of a future.

I Thought of You by Jewel E. Ann

3.75/4 out of 5 stars

I Thought of You is the beautiful and emotional new story of Jewel E. Ann. It tugged on my heart strings and I loved the small twists and turns in this novel.

The book starts with Price Milloy searching for Scottie Rucker. And he finds her working at Dummond's General Store. He lies to her and tells her he lives in Austin, Texas. But he is only here for her, and as long as she is in his life he will stay. They reconnect and go out for dinner. Scottie instantly feels something is going on. But she is also immensely overjoyed that he is back in her life. They dated for one magical Summer and then they parted ways. Scottie was the one who initiated the break up. But she ached for him to come back and fight for her. But he never did.

Meanwhile Scottie is living the best life she can. She loves living in the moment and living in simplicity. She lives in a trailer behind the store and is very content and happy there. One of her favorite customers, Herb, arranged a date for her with his grandson.

When Scottie and Price go for dinner they acknowledge the relationship would have ended either way.
That evening at the story she is scared that she is getting robbed. But the spooky man turns out to be Koen, the grandson of Herb. And they have a quick non date.

And that is what kickstarts the story. We see Scottie and Price reconnected. And they need each other. They lean on each other. Their presence heals the other one. But it is not sexual. It's a very intense friendship.
We see acceptance and understanding. But also that underlying yearning, what is Price hiding? And is it truly platonic?

Scottie falls madly in love with Koen. And I love that complicated relationship between the three of them. It evolves and changes several times through the course of this book.

This novel is such a heartbreaking and beautiful story at the same time. Tiny moments and actions add so much to the characters and the overall storyline. I loved all the emotions and the entire journey I went on with several of the characters.

We see how a moment can be interpreted in two ways. We see characters giving up and giving in. We see growth and healing.

One my favorite and most painful quotes is this one:

There's nothing easier than not existing.

But even though the book is laced and intertwined with heartfelt emotions. I didn't always feel them in my bones or in my soul. I read Before Us, and I LOVED that book to pieces. It feels like Jewel to a whole other approach into writing this novel. A new style that resonated a little less with me.
I wish I was torn apart and healed all at once while reading this book.

I also had a lot of trouble with what is going on with Price. I know it's a book and it is fictional. But I wish it was a bit more true to the actual truth of it. I don't want to say what it is. Because that will spoil the story for those who are reading this review. But yeah, I wish there would have been more research into it. So that it felt more true.

Valentine PR thank you so much for a copy of this amazing novel. I am forever grateful. ♥

Overall a really enjoyable and beautiful story. So 3.75/4 out of 5 stars from me for this amazing book.

The struggle was real with this one… I love Jewel E. Ann’s writing and parts of this story. It kept my attention throughout and I enjoyed some of the characters. Some parts made me ragey though. I can’t decide what I think of this book, but I’m thinking about it, so going with a middle of the road rating.

“When you meet the one, every other star in the sky fades.”

Price Milloy always had big dreams to conquer the world. He was an overachiever who felt like he had it all. Then his life is suddenly turned upside down and he loses all control. He’s lost and for once doesn’t know how to fix things. He craves a simple life free of his current problems, so he leaves a note on the nightstand and searches for the person who was forever a positive shining light. He ends up in Austin, Texas where he finds his first love, Scottie Rucker. She’s working at a general store, and looks just as he remembered her. Her eternal sunshine is exactly what he needs and soon he begins to feel alive again.

Scottie Rucker lives life in the moment. She’s happy but her love life has been lacking the last few years. Then her ex shows up out of nowhere, and she isn’t sure what it means. She dated him when she lived in Philadelphia, and she has great memories from the unforgettable summer they spent together. He broke her heart, and after twelve years he’s still her biggest weakness. He’s always been the one who got away, but they were so different. While he was driven, she was grounded and not a planner. She’s conflicted over his unexpected presence in her life, but also enjoys his company. Then she meets a new man that excites her and gives her hope. Two men evoke powerful feelings in her, but will either be her future?

I Thought of You by Jewel E. Ann is a unique, deeply emotional, opposites attract, first loves romance full of angst, humor, heartbreak, compassion and fabulous banter. It’s about second chances, healing, personal growth, self discovery, friendship and following your path in life. This story is messy, complicated, and so beautiful. It reminds me yet again why I adore this authors writing. I was completely addicted, and couldn’t put my kindle down. I loved everything about this book, and this story will make you feel it all. These characters hearts are so intricately woven together. The main theme of the book for me was love. How it evolves, and is kind, patient, all consuming and limitless. <333

This story and its characters kept me glued to the pages and to every word. A heartbreakingly beautiful story.
Scottie, Price and Koen. Their dynamic was amazing. Superb all because of the impeccable writing. The dialogue was chef’s kiss. The humor was so right when the mood and theme of the story was sad and sentimental.
There’s three stories about love in I Thought of You and I enjoyed them all immensely. Go in blind and take it all in. It’s emotionally tough at times but the humor and romance balances it out just right so the reader is on edge and never knows what to expect next.
I absolutely adored all the characters. The depth, their flaws and growth. But most importantly LOVE!
I got it all in I Thought of You. What a story.

Let me start by saying that I LOVE Jewel and am one of her biggest fans.

It pains me to rate this low. But I have to be honest with my reviews.

I would not classify this as a romance.

The plot twist was infuriating.

The situation with Price and his secret was super confusing. How he handled it from start to finish…I’m left with a lot of questions about his decisions and the outcome.

I absolutely love Jewel and will continue to read her. Sadly for me, this was a miss.

2 ⭐️ because I enjoyed the first 30%

I'm warning you all that if you loved this book, then do not read any further because this is a rant😅😂

Ok, I may be in the minority but holy shit Price's wife is a selfish jerk. I found myself getting so pissed when she finally entered the book. I did not feel that she loved him but what he could provide for her. She didn't care if he beat cancer she just wanted to keep her lifestyle and have him fight cancer HER way even if it killed him in the end. The fact that he straight up told her how he was feeling and what he needed and that she was like tough shit just made my blood boil. He was literally going to die to appease her, and when she finally pulled her head out, it was ALMOST TO LATE!! I think the fact that he sought out Scottie even knowing he might die says a lot about his relationship with his wife. They should have ended up together or, at the very least, Price should have left his wife and found his happiness and health on his own.

I understand people deal with trauma in all types of ways, but I could not understand his wife's thoughts or feelings at all. We have experienced cancer in our lives, and let me tell you there is NOTHING in this world we wouldn't have tried to save his life. From holistic medicine, clean eating, chemo to living in a village with no electricity.

I ended this book just mad.

2 stars for Scottie and the book BEFORE the wife showed up.

"No matter how much you try to imagine what you would do in a situation, you don't know until you're in it."

Wow. I finished this book and could do nothing but just sit and stare at the wall. I kid you not, I was just speechless. You see, I have been struggling a little with new reads this year. Everything just feels the same, you know? Nothing is wowing me. But this book absolutely blew me away. And it truly comes at no surprise because that is the beauty of a book written by Jewel E. Ann. I know going in, that she writes unique stories that captivate you from the start. Often pushing the envelope into important but sometimes uncomfortable topics or situations that make you feel SO many things, and more importantly, make you think. Not to mention the twist or two (sometimes foreshadowed, sometimes not) that she often throws in. And this book was no exception.

"I don't need you to be mine, I just need you."

I really don't want to touch on the plot. This book is best read if you go in knowing nothing. Unless you need a TW-reach out-there are some very sensitive topics. But my gosh, what an emotional rollercoaster ride this story was. I was a mess of emotions throughout the entire story. Every single character drew me in and made me feel. The connections were so beautiful. And intimate. Sexy and heated at times. The anticipation though... the author had me on the edge of my seat the whole way through. I couldn't go to bed not knowing what was going to happen. So I didn't. And let me just tell you, that epilogue saved me from crying into my pillow all night. I shed a lot of tears with this one. But I also smiled. Laughed. Swooned. I felt.

"You're right, it's too soon. But if it makes you feel better, I've already kissed you a dozen different ways in my mind."

This story is very insta in ways. I knew his choice (you have to read to understand) was the right choice for him, but I do believe in the alternative option too. And there was a character I despised, even if I understood. And none of this mattered. Because this book took me on a journey, that while is fiction, is also one that is very real in aspects for so many. It was such a beautiful love story. One that encompasses the many ways we can love, support and heal. One I won't forget. Top read of 2024. This book needs to be turned into a movie-it would be exceptional on screen, just saying. Okay, I am done gushing. It's clear I loved it. Be sure to read it!

"When you meet the one, every other star in the sky fades."

Where is the second chance romance I was promised? Huh?!!! 🤬
I’m gonna admit, this book tagged on my heartstrings. Yep some tears were shed but I did not love this book. I’m forever going to be annoyed for both MCs settling for other people who don’t really deserve them. I think ms Ann went for shock value here and all it did was annoy me rather.

Overall, a well written story if you don’t go in with expectations of romance you’d definitely enjoy it more than I did.

It really pains me to give this review. Jewel E Ann is one of my favourite authors but this book was infuriating. Or maybe the hero was..i don't know.

I went in blind, I didn't even read the blurb. I read the first chapter and I was extremely happy and excited. After 2/3 chapters I couldn't decide how I wanted this book to end but my happiness was in bloom so I kept reading. 20%in and I started to suspect things and my happiness diminished. And then the plot went downhill.

SPOILERS ...SPOILERS
I really didn't felt the heroine's love for her boyfriend. She seemed conflicted. She loved the hero (Prince) in a nonsexual way but she still loved him and for me, it was strange. She didn't loved him as a brother so what kind of love is left? Because as a lover she loved her boyfriend. And Price left his wife and daughter for months to reunited with his first love 🤷Also, his relationship with his wife felt clinical. And the wife..dont get me started. She wanted her lifestyle and didn't considered that he cured only because he changed his lifestyle.

The ending was not happy nor sad. It just was. I wasn't happy for the heroine because I felt that she settled and decided to marry and have kids just because her boyfriend wanted those things. And the hero.. he almost died to appease his wife and then he lived because his wife had a change of heart.

I really don't get this book. It wasn't romance. Maybe it was drama. But a sad drama all the way. They were happy only on paper but I just didn't felt that happiness. And that is a first with Jewel's books.

I really really tried to love this book but unfortunately it wasn't for me .

I was so sure that I wouldn't cry and I ended up shedding tears.
Jewel E. Ann it's all you and your magic of words.

I knew before the release of this book, that if anyone can make me read a love triangle, it's her.
And I couldn't be more accurate.
The day JEA stops writing, that'd be the day I cease to read altogether.

It's two love stories. Wrapped in one. You might think it's a love triangle. It's anything but that. Romance books which go far beyond the typical love story and make it romance is the kind of book you can expect from JEA.

Impactful. Meaningful. Angsty. Parable. Soul crushing. Beautiful. Life altering.

Jewel E. Ann. This author… She will literally rip my heart out, stomp on it over and over, pick it up, throw it into a wood chipper and THEN if I’m lucky she will piece it back together piece by piece. Her books ruin me, they shatter my heart but in the best possible way and just like most of Jewel’s books, this one had me in tears too.

This book took a toll on me, there were times were I had to put it down for a moment and have a breather., but I’m not saying this is a bad thing. I love a book that rips my heart out and Jewel is the master.

This is a little different… There are three main characters in this story. Price, Scottie and Koen… BUT it’s not classed as a love triangle.

Can one night change your life forever? It changed Scotties’.
When Scottie was 19 years old she met this incredible guy and had an amazing summer of love and she has held a torch for him ever since. However, she never thought she would see him again until Price walked into her 12 years later. Price needed a reason to live and motivation to live so on an impulse he left everything behind and found Scottie again. Scottie is everything Price needs and wants in his life… But life doesn’t always go to plan and isn’t always that simple…

It’s not long after Price comes back into Scottie’s life she meets Koen and it seems as though there is an instant and an undeniable attraction between them both and Koen sweeps her off her feet. So Scottie is more confused than ever and doesn’t know where her heart is.

Each character in this book is unique and brings something different to the table. They all have different personalities that bounce off each other. The bromance between Koen and Price would have to be one of my all-time favourite bromances I have ever read! The love and friendships made in this story are beautiful, and pure and are once in a lifetime.

I’m not going to dive in any deeper. I honestly think you need to read it yourself and experience it.

This book is a story about life, a story about love and a story about choices. It had me laughing, it had me swooning, it had me sobbing… The problems they face, the ups and downs, the heartache and the pain are so relatable, which made this story even more special if that was even possible!

This incredible book was thought-provoking, powerful, profound, emotional, mind-blowing and unforgettable. It’s a book that will stay with me forever.

Make sure you have tissues and a glass of wine, you are going to need them! I could not put this down.

Good Story, but Unique

Unique romance that could be a tear jerker for some people. This author certainly knows how to pull out every emotion in her books and this was no exception. It's one with a book within a book at times-the past versus the present. I really liked the three main characters, two of which were very finely drawn while the third was well realized but not necessarily as fully realized as the first two. There's Scottie a young woman who's a free spirit of sorts. She lives in the moment and loves hard. Then there's her ex, Price, from twelve years ago. You know from the beginning that something is up with him and it's not good. Scottie’s new guy, Koen, is pretty wonderful too. There’s several other important characters as well. Some I liked better than others. A lot happens and there's a lot of intense emotions too. This is not a threesome or anything like that. Because of spoilers I'm going to leave it there. It's an adult read and I recommend it to romance readers.

I’m a wee bit emotional over this book. I can’t quite put into words how I’m feeling I just know that I’m feeling. I’m sad, I’m intrigued, I’m blown away, I’m happy. I’m all the things.

I love me a good JEA book, especially the ones that have you feeling everything, but this one, in the beginning up until about 30% or so was hard for me. I don’t know what it was but it was slow. I had to put it down a couple times and pick it back up. This is the ONLY reason it didn’t get 5 stars from me.

Was it funny with quick wit, hilarious one liners and some fantastic banter? Absolutely yes!
Was it very intriguing due to the research done on the subject matter in the book? HELL YES! I want to know more actually and it’s something I’ve been looking into for a year or so.
Was it tragically beautiful? IN EVERY SINGLE WAY😭

The story of Price Milloy and Scottie Rucker will live rent free in my mind forever. This is not your conventional love story. This is about a love that lasts a lifetime. It’s about living. More people should follow in both their footsteps and slowdown and feel the grass beneath their feet.
Scottie made an imprint on Prices heart that he knew he needed when he was up against a wall. She in turn needed him to show her that love doesn’t always end when you’re no longer together.

I loved this book but don’t know that I will ever be able to read it again because my heart is broken. It’s hard to read something similar to what you’ve lived so recently. Mt head hurts from bawling just from raw emotion.

I think that there will be some mixed reviews of I Thought of You but if you are looking for a tear jerker this is the one. If you are looking for love, romance and friendship this is the one as well!

I was given the opportunity to read an early copy of this book.

*~*~*~*~*

I came across this ARC via Valentine PR, I loved the title and I wanted to know more instantly; then I read the synopsis and I knew this was the type of book that I would enjoy reading… little did I know that the book was COMPLETELY different to what I thought it was going to be (which is partly to why I bought the rating down.

It’s rare that a book can make me cry, but this one did, and it was in the cruelest way, but I also wouldn’t take back those tears for anything because I think the author did a great job at writing something heartbreaking and turning it into something beautiful. Without giving too much of a spoiler, what do you do when you receive a life changing prognosis? Do you deal with it medically, or do you make a change to your life style? The latter was certainly something I never considered, but seeing Price think about these kind of things and act upon them left me with food for thought.

Price Milloy has everything he could ever want, except the one that got away when he was a few years younger, and now he’s going back to her, but with a few secrets up his sleeve. Price Milloy wasn’t the type of billionaire that you usually read about, he actually had a funny sense of humour and a kind heart. He cares about others and wants to go back to seeing things in a different light. He certainly drew the short card with his prognosis, but you wouldn’t think that if you were to meet him.

Scottie Rucker is the epitome of sunshine, dandelions and not caring, she’s got a heart of gold and a carefree life. In some ways, she’s relatable, and in others, she’s a breath of fresh air, and while I certainly got boho/hippy vibes from Scotty, Jewel made me want to know Scottie even more, a specially so I could live in her happiness and care free attitude.

With a will they/wont they situation alongside a small love triangle, I was left desperate to see Scottie and Price back together, I thought Koen was incredibly fishy at first, and some of the things we would say left me cringing. Despite this, not everything was as it seemed, and as the characters grew, I began to change my mind and battle with my head and heart. It takes a great writer to leave a reader having so many mixed emotions as to how they want a book to end. And if I am being honest, I was more than happy with the ending given. The ending was something I did not expect, and as mentioned above, one that made me cry.

If I could drill my opinion into anyone, it would be to read this book, even if you think it may not be what you want, because I have a feeling that this is going to be one of those books that make you feel cautious to read, but grateful to have read in the end. Allow your entire soul to immerse into this book and let your heart run wild. I did, and I have no regrets.

Thank you so much to Jewel and Valentine PR for allowing me to read this ARC. I have continued to think about it for days, and I would happily read it time and time again.

***5 "Miraculous!!!" stars***

"If I give you today, there will be no tomorrow..."

Jewel E. Ann wrecked me in here!!! But in the best way possible!!!
She broke me into tiny pieces, but she breathed life back into me... She gave me hope and love in the truest form!!!
I loved Price, Scottie and Koen so much and if you are thinking what a mess! by hearing those three names, I am reassuring you that it is anything like what you are thinking...
I fell so deeply in love with both Scottie and Koe, and Price had touched my soul sooo deeply...
I just wish that Mrs. Ann will stop making me cry in almost every book that I have read by her, but I love that her sense of humor is bringing me smiles very often too!!!

"Nothing is easier than not existing."

Price is uprooting his whole life with just a note in the nightstand for goodbye...
Something is chasing him away from his reality and he is seeking the one person that used to made him feel beautiful and peaceful...
Her name is Scottie and twelve years ago, they have spent a beautiful summer together... She was his first love and she was full of life. She is still full of live and her brightness is exactly what he needs at this period in his life...

"She'll never know what this means to me.
The smiles and laughter.
The banter.
The timy nudges.
The chance to live in her world again."

Scottie is surprised that Price is back into her life but in a good way... She never forgot about him, but at the same time, something unexpected is happening in her life...
Koen and Scrot, his dog, are entering her world with such a mighty force that he is making her questioning everything...
Can a heart loves two men at the same time???
And what will happen when she will realize what is happening with Price and his sudden appearance in her life???
And what about her bruised heart that once loved him, but now, she is beating for another man and makes her want things that she never wanted before???

"He's the one. The person who becomes everything you never knew you needed."

I loved this story so much!!!
It was unexpected... It was funny... It was emotional... It was perfect!!!
Price was making my heart bleed, but I liked how he managed to turn things in his favor... I loved that he find the meaning of true life and I wish that more people were like him...
Scottie was such a lovely creature. It was impossible to not get touched by her light...
I loved the way she was loving... With her whole heart and soul!!!
As for Koen??? He was magnificent!!! A man with so much understanding... I loved the bromance between him and Price... It was priceless!!! Lol!!!

"Scottie Rucker, when I thought of a time in my life that I felt free of stress and nothing but sheer bliss and contentment... I thought of you."

This was a beautiful story. It is from these kind of stories that will stay with you!!!
Unforgettable is the right word for "I thought of you".
A journey to life and love!!!!
Just buckle up and enjoy the ride!!! That's my only advice to you!!!
Oh! And don't forget to have tissues by your side. You are going to need them!!!

"Do you feel that? If you let go of everything, you'll find that quiet place, and you'll find me. It's so beautiful. So siple. It's "now".
Now in not a moment. It's now. It's where we always have and always will exist."

This gifted wordsmith always brings her A game, but this one is a lot, in an overwhelmingly amazing way. This story has a quiet angst and a heavy heartedness with light and joie de vivre shining through the shadows.

We have three man characters, and while this may seem like a love triangle, it's not exactly. Scottie ad Price shared an amazing summer twelve years ago, and when Price needs a motivation to live he leaves everything behind to find Scottie again. Her innate goodness and unique outlook are exactly the light he needs in his life right now.

Shortly after Price comes back into Scottie's life she meets Koen and they share an instant attraction that could easily grow into more. This is where things get really interesting, and I hung on every word as the story unfolded.

Part of the magic of this is the order in which events are revealed, in the pacing and scene changes, and JEA has a masterful way of telling a story. She grabbed my attention from the very first and I devoured this in one sitting. Captivating, charming, heartbreaking and uplifting, this is easily one of my top all-time reads and I guarantee it's one you won't easily forget.

I don't really know how I feel about this book. It was sad and confusing and not really what I was expecting. It wasn't a romance either, I really don't know what this was....it just was, which is a weird way to describe this. It almost felt like a bunch of ideas or parts to what could've been 2 different stories thrown together. I mean I couldn't stop reading because that's what JEA books do to me, but I really had no clue what kind of story I was getting.

📌 second chance
📌 small town
📌 sickness & health
📌 love triangle
📌 forced proximity
📌 very angsty
📌 very difficult to categorize in tropes actually

🇺🇸This is a very difficult book to rate and review.

On the one hand, because I loved half of it. The writing style is beautiful and addictive. The characters are raw, touching, very realistic, and vivid. I quickly found myself drawn into the story, and it's a novel I found hard to put down. In fact, I finished it one night at 3 a.m., which is saying a lot.

The rest of this review is about to spoil almost the entire novel:

To sum up, despite remarkable writing and very touching characters, the background of this story leaves me with the bitter, unpleasant aftertaste of a judgment filled with hypocrisy. This is just my opinion, and I'll let you make up your own mind if you ever come across this book.

If you're looking for a romance that flirts with personal development, something that grabs you by the gut and gives you a run for your money, then I recommend this book. If, like me, you don't take kindly to being lectured through an unrealistic narrative that ultimately judges the modern lifestyle by blaming it for all the world's ills, then maybe skip it altogether.

OMG!!! What a rollercoaster ride this was!!! 😩❤️‍🩹❤️‍🩹

When I started this book, and imagined which direction it was possibly going, I thought to myself ”yeahhhh, I am not gonna survive this one” (and not for the reason you’re thinking 😂)… However, I COMPLETELY trust Jewel, so I just buckled up and braced for impact 😂 (and prepared tissues while I was at it lol)

Turns out, it was NOTHING like I had imagined.
I mean… in a way it was, but it WASN’T. Lol.

Meaning…

This book will have you feeling confused, ELATED, sad, hysterically laughing, introspective, INSPIRED, apprehensive, yet light and free 💗
I know, it makes no sense, but that’s the essence of this book. Conflicting emotions, absurd oxymorons, that eventually tie everything together as one, in perfect harmony. It will prove that two seemingly opposite notions CAN exist simultaneously without necessarily negating each other. Life isn’t black or white. It’s an infinite amount of grays… All and nothing, and everything in between. Just have to open up your mind. And most importantly, your heart ❤️

I am not trying to wax poetics here (couldn’t pull it off if I tried lol). You will see… this is just what you will think and feel too, by the end of this beautiful journey.

I fell in love with not one, but TWO men.
And as much as I thought I didn’t want that, I couldn’t be more ecstatic about it now 😂

Please go in blind, and don’t have ANY expectations. Keep an open mind. Trust the process, go with the flow. You won’t regret it 😘

There is nothing more I can say without spoiling lol. I honestly just envy you cuz you get to read this for the first time. This is one that will stay with you…

***

“How do I look at him?”
“The way you used to look at me.” He waves a hand in the air without looking up at me. “You know. All doe-eyed and flushed with uncontrolled desire.”

”I don’t know what kind of witchery you use on men to make them fall in love with you and each other, but it’s impressive.”

“Shh. Stop interrupting the universe.”

2 stars

I went into this book blind, and I wish I hadn’t. I would have avoided it if there had been a content warning. While this might not bother some readers, I personally don’t want to encounter certain heavy topics—like —in my romance books.

For those who want to go in blind, stop reading here.

The story revolves around three main characters: Price (34), Scottie (31), and Koen. Price and Scottie dated 12 years ago, but now he’s back in her life just as she’s started dating Koen. From the setup, I assumed this might lead to either a love triangle or a throuple dynamic, but it was neither.

As for the “big twist” regarding Price’s life—it left me giving him a major side-eye.

While I won’t spoil the rest, this book just didn’t work for me. Between the unexpected heavy themes and the character dynamics, it wasn’t the romantic escape I was hoping for.

I’m giving this book 4 stars because I honestly can’t decide how I feel about it. It was addicting & I couldn’t put it down, but I was also frustrated literally the entire time. My mind is doing somersaults trying to figure out what I feel. But I read it in 24 hours, so that must mean I liked it 🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️🤷🏼‍♀️

Beautiful and Thought provoking!!!!

This book is something special. I loved and enjoyed the story and the journey. I literally just finished it, and my heart and mind are so full with all these good feelings, yet I'm at a loss... IDK how to explain the greatness of this book.

All I know is I'm 100% here for this.

This book is better to read as I didn't like the narrators in this story.
A story of lost and found love.
Price comes back to town to see his lost love Scottie.
Only Scottie has just found her love with Koen.
Alot of back and forth with not much happening.
It's kind of a sad love story
Not my favourite Jewell E Ann book
