The Pleasure Protocol

Rate this book
"The Pleasure Protocol is dripping with lust, tension, and intensity. The book equivalent of being draped in silk and tied up by a hero as breathlessly powerful as he is tender! Five stars!" - Sierra Simone, USA Today bestseller of American Queen and Salt Kiss

A billionaire and an escort agree to a steamy arrangement that lures them down a seductive, forbidden path.

First rule: Don't fall in love.

Billionaire CEO Nikolai Zaitsev has used an escort service for years. Maybe he’s jaded, but it’s easier to pay for intimacy than worry about another partner using him for his money. His latest companion, Corinne, charms him with her stunning beauty and charisma—but when she crawls for him and calls him Sir their first night, his desire for dominance roars to life.

Corinne Ryan is a first-rate escort who knows better than to fall in love with a client. It’s the number one rule of this business, and she’s already been hurt too many times. But everything changes when Nikolai pulls her into a dark, sensual world with a different type of rules, and she finds herself collared and leashed as his pampered Pet.

Each night of pleasure brings them closer, and that most important rule gets harder to follow. As feelings blossom, they both fight to stay within the bounds of client and escort. Can they finally admit they've broken their own rules, or will they lose what’s become most important: each other?

The Pleasure Protocol was originally available on Kindle Vella and has received minor updates to be published in novel format.

Darcy Romaine writes swoon-worthy romance with bisexual characters and enough heat to top the Scoville scale. When she’s not penning her latest novel, she enjoys reading smutty fiction, playing D&D, catching Broadway shows, and watching questionable movies with her best friend because a hot actor forced them.

She lives in Philadelphia-ish with her darling but devilish husband, a muppet of a dog, and too many cats.

Jenn loved this! She can't wait to tell you all about it.

For real though, I was a *tad* thrown by the tense choice, as it's not my normal favorite for a romance. BUT, I quickly got into it, so if it feels a bit off to you, please push on through because this was a lovely journey.

I actually LOVE Escort Romances of all kinds. They are surprisingly harder to find than you think. One that are more than just a novella or a single experience. I also enjoy BDSM when it's being explored and transformed for the two people doing it. This book was a wonderful melding of both. Add in a billionaire who wants to spoil his pet... I am ready for the ride.

I loved Nikolai & Corinne's chemistry from the jump, I was impressed with the immediate and ever evolving discussions of limits and likes and dislikes. The pleasure of finding someone you will be working with suits your personal needs so well. It felt so good. I find negotiations to be extremely steamy and they build anticipation for the fun to come. It was such a joy to read them done in such a natural way. Like, the conversation is essential but that doesn't mean it can't be hot.

Anyway, read the content labels if you want a list of all the fun stuff, but there was nothing overly intense or too niche. It was very approachable while still pushing the limits just a bit. It definitely had me wanting a collar of my own if it can be as stunning as Corinne's was. IYKYK. I really enjoyed this and the way it all wrapped up was the perfect bow on top. I really look forward to more novels from this writing duo.

• Okay so, I SPRINTED through this book. I couldn’t read it fast enough. It is deliciously spicy and it takes you on a complete ride. So many scenes when your imagination just goes wild, and it is so BEYOND hot.

• Corrine, the high class escort. And Nikolai the CEO of a cybersecurity company and a billionaire. These two both exude confidence and can most certainly back it up. Their relationship starts off fiery and quickly turns into an inferno. Second book this year to make me legit sweat. It is so beyond TASTY. The sir/pet talk 🥵 I love both of the MCs equally. Is Nikolai now on my book boyfriends list? You bet. I’d wear your collar anytime sir 😏😉

• If you like spicy books, I can’t recommend this book enough! I am so glad one of my gal pals ARC read it too so we could gush about it. I needed to talk to SOMEONE 😂

This book has enough spice to satisfy me for a very, very long time! With the amount of sexual lifestyles mentioned (escort, BDSM, pleasure rooms, sexual role-play, etc), I would say this book is for a very mature audience. It's a different level of hot and spicy, and I loved every minute of it!

Nikolai Zaitsev is a billionaire with zero time for a relationship. He finds it easier and more convenient to indulge in temporary connections through escort services. When he connects with an escort named Corinne, there is instant attraction. She is sexy, she is confident, and she knows how to play the game without making it look like what it is - just a game. There is no doubt Corinne is good at what she does, and that is what makes Nikolai want her even more. What starts as a mutually beneficial date slowly turns into something more serious for the two. They both understand and accept each other's needs, no matter how kinky, and eventually start to break each other down, bad!

This book is beyond spicy! There are several sexual moments between Nikolai and Corinne, and although I enjoyed it, it started to feel a little repetitive halfway into the book. Things started going flat and started feeling predictable. I found myself feeling the opposite of how I felt at the beginning of the book. Aside from that, everything else in the book was great! The characters were very likable. I loved Corinne's confidence and attitude, and I loved how Nikolai, although being the no-nonsense businessman he was, was also such a sweetheart. It was wonderful watching their relationship slowly change, without them having to change who they were.

Thank you NetGalley, Xpresso Book Tours, Darcy Romaine, and Kat Alexander for this ARC!

Who can pass up a book with 2 bisexual MCs? Not me! Which is why I was so excited to get an ARC of this and am happy to say I loved it! The Pleasure Protocol is spicy af & full of romance with a dash of humor. Also the such 👏🏻 great 👏🏻 communication 👏🏻🙌🏻.
I didn’t know a ton about the BDSM/kink community going into it, so it was also really interesting and informative to me. Gotta love feeling like I’m learning while reading spice, right??

If you want a spicy read that will leave you feeling hot, bothered & giddy, give this one a shot!

Nikolai is the hot billionaire CEO who rather pay for escort service than to be bothered with an actual romantic partner. Nikolai in need of date, Corrine whom is the confident, high class, and sassy accompanies him for the night. She is one the best in escort industry and knows to separate business and pleasure. But what happens when the lines start to blur and emotions start to form. This is the story of two jaded souls falling in love with another making this a sexy ass story.

The spice in this book was spicing and then some🥵. My only complaint was that the book was in third person POV. I personally prefer first person POV but nonetheless the book was amazing!

I applaud Corrine’s confidence despite the stigma of her job, she is full of sass and class. I enjoyed seeing Nikolai spoil his Corrine aka pet. Never once did he judge her or degrade her for line of work. They both bring the best out of each other and complete one another.

4.5 for me☺️

Okay the spice was spicing in this book😮‍💨🥵

The third POV kinda threw me off, I think it could’ve been great without, but that’s my opinion.
Not saying the book wasn’t an interesting read.. it was😏😏

I grew to love Nikolai and Corrine plus their relationship 🔥

This was a pretty fast read, but it was good.
There was some repetitive stuff that kinda was like meh but other than that it was an enjoyable read with a lot of spice.

It's a great read, definitely very spicy. But the characters are kinda flat. You get a sense of a problem that is being created between the two main characters, but when the problem comes out, it's weird. In the last 20% the dynamic between the two completely changed and they didn't behave themselves like normally. Then a few pages further, they suddenly have the solution, and then they skip two years after. I didn't really like the ending, it was very sudden and strange. But that didn't take away that I liked reading it.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5

Going into this read I one thing i was expecting the most, was spice.
And let me tell you spice? It was given, and then some. Definitely
5/5 regarding spice.

Loved these two main characters, Nikolai is very dominant but at the same time so very caring and thoughtful. Corinne? Her confidence is of the charts. The tension between the two absolutely amazing. I would not mind this being a movie😂😏

Now I’m always iffy about reading books that are written by multiple authors. But @darcy.romaine.writes and @katalex_author really are a match made in heaven! The story is written beautifully!!

Now I had some trouble getting into the book at first and connecting to the characters, as it is written in third person pov. I personally feel like a dual pov would have been a perfect fit for this book. This also because both of them struggle with their growing feelings.
In my opinion a dual pov could have allowed more detail and depth to the characters.

What do you think is going to happen when you put a billionaire pleasure dom and an adorable charismatic eacort together?
I'll tell you, you get 5/5 spice. I mean, Corinne wasn't the only woman turning into a desperate, eager little thing.
This is one book you can judge by the cover because it is, in fact, cover to cover pleasure! Be it soft, caring, intimate pleasure, or shove this... ehh, you get the picture!
Watching Nikolai pamper his pretty little pet made me melt in every way that melting can happen.
Don't get me wrong, there is beautiful character building, and a wonderful storyline in this otherwise hot and sexy book.
I appreciate the way the Sir and pet dynamic is shown in such a realistic and beautiful way. Well, as realistic as it can be with a billionaire main character.
I, for one, did not devour this book.. Not because I didn't want to, but because it was worth savoring every chapter and every scene between Nikolia and Corinne.
10/10 recommended for anyone who loves the hot, sexy, BDSM smut books.

DNF.

I was having a rough time getting into this one. It started out strong and then devolved for me once we got to the pet names. It was really a huge turn off for me and I couldn't continue.

Once the reading mojo is lost it's hard to get back and I just don't think this one is for me.

The Pleasure Protocol by Darcy Romaine and Kat Alexander is a super hot billionaire romance. Nikolai and Corinne have both sworn off love. But when Nikolai is desperate for a last-minute companion to an event, a mutual sets them up as client and escort. This one, very heated, night leads to much more than what they bargained for.

I enjoyed this book so much! The mmc was so damn swoony. The fmc was confident and sexy as hell. Both MCs are bisexual and I loved their development throughout the story. What I loved most about them was their communication!!! They were so open and spoke about exactly what they needed and wanted.

The story was so deliciously spicy, and it was done so perfectly. Literally educational! It has bdsm, some pet play, mild breath play, and high protocol. (Check your triggers) It was written so well. And the dialogue??? So hot! I also had the pleasure of reading a bonus chapter, and it was just a cherry on top!

I won this book from a giveaway, and I'm so glad I did!

I loved Nikolai and Corinnes Sir/pet dynamic. I feel like this lifestyle was portrayed well. Normally, I hate miscommunication in books, and I don't like the sticking to rigid predetermined rules i gave myself at a different time in my life. But the way Corinne and Nikolai both processed through their emotions and grew from their past traumas was well done in this book. There was tension and frustration, but it wasn't over the top or too much, in my opinion.

Lastly, I absolutely hate the tense in this book....idk why I struggled so hard with it 😭 I guess I haven't ran into a romance book written in 3rd person? It just threw me for a loop, and I didn't like it.

Edit: Did I not write a full review of this one?? What is wrong with me??

Look, you need to read this book. Scorching is an UNDERSTATEMENT. Nikolai and Corinne were absolutely electric together, and they both know rules are meant to be broken, right?

Not only is this story spicy and addictive, it also delivers on representation. A bisexual main character whose sexuality is mentioned so casually? I LOVE IT.

Go read it. You won't regret it.

This book was so fun!
An escort and a billionaire, what could happen?
.
.

It was fun to see a glimpse into sex work industry as well as the bdsm community and just some of the facets of it. It portrays it and all the positives that are so often neglected and stigmatized. Love it!

It was enjoyable to see how their relationship would grow and how they would also grow in their dynamic.

Definitely recommend if you e ever wondered if BDSM might be something you’re into, or at the very least you might find some new kinks 😉

Holy spicy goodness! I didn't realize I needed a billionaire BDSM romance in my life until this book. So if you want to learn a new kink or two, this is the book for you!

RATING: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
SPICE: 🌶🌶🌶🌶

Nikolai is a billionaire CEO who has been using an escort service for years. He finds it easier to pay for intimacy instead of worrying if a romantic partner is using him for his money. When his current escort bails in him at the last minute for a high profile event, he needs to find a new companion and fast. In comes Corrine Ryan. Corrine is a high class escort who is the top in the business. She’s all business and pleasure who knows better than to fall in love with her client. But what happens when they break the number 1 rule: don’t fall in love.

📚 Book Tropes:
🖤 Billionaire x Escort
💋 Dom x Sub
🖤 Age Gap
💋 Objectification K!nk
🖤 Mild Pet Play | Sir & Pet
💋 Role Play
🖤 Let Me Spoil You
💋 It’s Just Sex, Right?
🖤 BD$M

💭 My Thoughts: holy smokes😮‍💨 this one is spicy! And it just gets spicier and spicier with each chapter. This one is NOT work appropriate lol Listen if y’all are looking to take your spice to a whole new level, this one is for you! I’m not going to lie this one was very educational for me on many different fronts. I got a crash course in BDSM, pet play and intense objectification. And we may or may not have a new k!nk. That’s for me to know and you to never find out 😉

Ok but for real, this book is all spice but with a plot believe it or not! I have never read a billionaire x escort romance and I have to say I loved the dynamic between Corrine and Nikolai. Let's first talk about our girl Corrine. She is such a strong and sexually confident woman. She knows her limits, what she likes and her open and honest communication with Nikolai was really refreshing. I love how she knows the stigmatism that comes with being a sex worker and she works hard to embrace her career. Now Nikolai, he's a broody billionaire with a jaded heart who can't be bothered with romance or a relationship. He finds having a paid escort is the answer to his problems. But he didn't stand a chance when Corrine entered his life. He fell in love with her without even realizing it. BONUS: this man LOVES to spoil the hell out of Corrine. I mean who wouldn’t want to be spoiled by a billionaire?

Okay now that you know what I loved about this book, I want to touch base on some of the things that I didn't like. First thing, this book is in THIRD PERSON! I HATE third person. I just don't understand what a dual POV would be written in third person. I much prefer dual first person POVs. And when I read third person, my mind always tries to read it in first person. It trips my brain up sometimes and it threw me off with the first few chapters. But I will say, I quickly over looked it with the plot and spice. Second thing, I feel like the Sir & Pet was used way too much. I truly don't mind pet names but I feel like it was unnecessary how often it was used and it kind of irritated me. It was to the point that my mind just skipped the word. I just felt like when they were not in a scene, I would have much preferred them to use their names or another term of endearment. But I understand the nature of their relationship was Dom x Sub and a relationship with a paid escort for it make sense. I just felt like it was redundant at times. Other than that, I have no complaints with this book. The spice was spicing. And the plot was there. I couldn't have asked for anything more! I felt like this was an amazing debut novel!

I would like to say a HUGE THANK YOU to Darcy Romaine and Kat Alexander for allowing me to read The Pleasure Protocol as an ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts, opinions and review!

Two jaded souls falling in love

*received an arc of the book from the author in exchange of an honest review*

Where do I even start with this beautiful book! Okay, first off all, I know this isn’t going to be everyone’s cup of tea, and that’s totally okay, but it’s my cup of tea haha. Also, if there’s anyone actually following/reading my reviews, just remember I’m ace so my views are always different in books that are filled with smut. I appreciate it though and have so much fun reading it because it amazes me.

“I’m going to a concert tonight. So you see, it’s not something I can cancel.”
Fuck.
“Pick any other night of the tour in any location of your choice, and you will be there with the full VIP experience: front-row seats, backstage passes, hotel, and flight.”
“But—”
“Including your friend or date.”
It takes her a moment to respond.
“What’s so important that you’re willing to spend that much money for a date with a woman you’ve never even seen, let alone met?”

This alone made me realize early in that I was going to love this book. When the relationship starts off because of a power balance (ie. boss/employee, teacher/ student, etc) most of the times, I hate it when the FMC is immediately thinking that she’s going to fall for him because he was NICE to her. I can’t really explain it, but it makes the build up in the romance feel less powerful. So I liked that it wasn’t an instant ‘love at first sight’ sort of vibe, but more of a ‘wow when we fuck we really connect’. I also loved that the MMC didn’t just buy her out and expect her to drop everything for him. He did pay her out, BUT he also repaid her for the event she was missing out on plus interest. It shows that, yes he has money, but he’s also being considerate of the plans she already has. He’s just too desperate to find another solution to his problem.

I am aware that they will get together, but also I want that tension yknow? With Corine, she was a bad bitch. And not one that is advertised as a baddy but is just whiny, but she stood her ground from the beginning and I love that. Yes, she was the first one to realize she was falling BUT technically he was, he was just oblivious. Both of them are upfront above their expectations, and for the most part, they follow them without any issues. The make sure to communicate and there aren’t any grey areas in the relationship - at least until their emotions get involved.

”Do you want to run through things again before we start, sir?”
“Yes, certainly. Is there anything you’d like to amend before we go through it?”
“Hmm. Just reiterating my safeword. I will say ‘red’ if I actually want you to stop. Because I don’t want you to hesitate if I say no or complain about what’s happening. If you’re comfortable with the consensual nonconsent nature of it?”
He nods.
“I’m very comfortable with it. Anything else, or should we talk through the basic points?”
“That’s it for me.”
They discuss the plan—where it will take place, what they’ll say and do to set up the scene, that he’ll ignore her protests unless she gives her safeword.

I love that they are actually taking time to discuss the kinks and are being extra cautious about everything. It’s not ‘sexy’ I guess, but I never like it in other books where they do CNC without talking about it because it just feels like assault at times. It’s just the guy ignoring the girl until she’s wet or is starting to moan and I always feel icky after. It makes me feel more comfortable too, because I’m not just imagining if the guy is really understanding that it’s consensual, or if he’s getting off on the idea that he wore her down if that makes sense?

It happens throughout the book as well, each time they are going to attempt/experiment something new, they discuss all expectations. Sure, it’s not new to them individually, but it’s new in their dynamic and I appreciate the time in each scene where they discuss after what they liked/disliked. It felt like a VERY healthy relationship despite the escort thing going on. It was super easy to forget that they weren’t actually together because everything was going so well.

”Fuck.”
He wipes his gloved thumb across her cheek.
“Oh, darling, look how beautiful you are, crying for me. You perfect little thing.”
He’s right on the edge, and he’s never felt like this in his life. It’s so good; they’re so in sync, he’s losing his mind.
She’s perfect, fuck.
She’s everything.

I’ll be honest, I was reading this at some point JUST to read about this man praising Corine. This man was so in love and he didn’t even see it! I wouldn’t bat an eye at the filthy things he would tell her, but would be blushing and giggling whenever the praise started to come out of his mouth. Man was OBSESSED. Sorry, SIR was obsessed. Idk how, but the authors wrote a disgustingly filthy book and yet it was fuckin adorable. I don’t have a praise kink - for obvious reasons mentioned above - but I found myself anticipating each time he would call her a good girl. I forgot I was reading an arc early in - I was just enjoying the beautiful ride.

I asked the author if they would be doing a sequel for the besties because I need that, like, yesterday.

“Tell me, pet, he rasps. He licks his lips. “Do you want it?”

WHEW!

That feels like the only word to sum up The Pleasure Protocol: A Scorching Billionaire Romance. Written from a dual-POV, the book follows Corinne Ryan and Nikolai Zaitsev as they navigate a situation they’re both intimately familiar with, one of client and escort, until it’s suddenly Not what they previously thought. Could the two of them be about to break the one unspoken rule of their business relationship?

While neither of them are new to the escort/client scene, the sparks fly and they fly immediately between them; for my fellow readers who love a fast burn, this book is for you! From their first scene where Corinne takes Nikolai by surprise by crawling, unprompted, towards him, to their first outing as a pair at the illustrious, sexy High Protocol, the chemistry between this couple is undeniable and unstoppable. I highly enjoyed watching their relationship grow from that of being an agreed upon relationship, to one that explored the dynamics of what it means to love someone who you can’t have—or who you don’t think you can have.

“You want to be a messy little thing, don’t you? Ridden hard and put away wet, hm?”

The dialogue is SCINTILLATING! If you are a fan of dirty talk with an extra serving of sex positivity and spice, this book is the one you’ve been waiting for. Authors Darcy Romaine and Kat Alexander do not disappoint in their exploration and writing of kink, which is done in such a respectful and positive manner that I fell even more in love with the BDSM scene as I fell for the two characters. There’s communication (!!), kink discussion, check-ins; even if the two didn’t intend on this being a paragon of “Good BDSM Etiquette,” they certainly hit the nail on the head.

If you are looking for your next favorite contemporary romance novel with a hefty helping of heat, character development, and highlightable passages you’ll re-read over and over again, pick up The Pleasure Protocol (and maybe get one for all your romance lovers, too!)

🌶 3.5

From the moment Nikolai graced the pages of TPP, I was ensnared. As the hotshot CEO with a penchant for late-night escapades, he oozed brooding intensity. His devil-may-care attitude made him the ultimate anti-hero—the kind you secretly root for while pretending to roll your eyes. But then Corinne stormed into his life, a tempest of sharp wit and curves. She was the hotness, as you aptly put it. Her intelligence matched Nikolai's, and their banter crackled like a live wire. The nicknames they exchanged—oh, those nicknames!—were both endearing and scorching. I couldn't decide whether to fan myself or swoon.

The age gap between Nikolai and Corinne raised eyebrows, but I reveled in it. Nikolai's seasoned confidence clashed deliciously with Corinne's youthful fire. And when he asked for consent—yes, consent, because we stan healthy dynamics—I practically cheered. It's about time romance novels normalized communication and boundaries. But here's the real kicker: Darcy and Kat crafted a story with bisexual main characters. As a queer reader, I felt seen. Our stories deserve the spotlight, and TPP cranked up the heat, daring anyone to look away.

Now, let's talk spice. Buckle up, my fellow smut queens, because this book is a veritable feast. Dual POVs, third-person narration—it didn't matter. The chemistry between Nikolai and Corinne could set pages on fire. And character development? Oh, they served it. These two souls collided at the right moment, leaving me breathless and craving more. As I devoured every second of TPP, I wondered how Darcy and Kat conjured such magic. Seriously, do they have a hotline to the romance gods? IYKYK 😏. Their writing was addictive, their pacing impeccable. And that comfort anime? A nod to our shared love for all things animated and heartwarming.

So, my fellow smut queens, keep your food and drinks away but keep 😏IYKYK closer—because this book is so hot. 🔥📖

PS: Please go through the TW

Thanks Kat & Darcy for this ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.

I found this book well-written and easy to read, but it didn’t end up being my cup of tea. But I do think a different reader would love this book!

I really appreciated that the authors included thorough content warnings in the author’s note at the beginning of the novel. (There are quite a few so I recommend checking that out before starting the book.)

Even in my spicy books, I like there to be more plot. There weren’t really any meaningful obstacles to their relationship or a non-romance related plot. If you are here for spice and not plot, this book would be great.

The queer representation in this book didn’t resonate with me. I was interested in this book because it was tagged as LGBTQIAP+ on NetGalley. Neither character’s queer identity or queer experience was central to the story. Both Corinne and Nikolai mention having previous same-sex partners, but don’t ever use a label for themselves. I’m calling them bisexual for this review since the author describes the characters as bisexual in the author bio at the end of the book. The book never uses the word bisexual, queer, pansexual, or any other term. I understand that labels aren’t meaningful to all members of the community, but it felt strange to me the characters were described as bi in the author bio but never in the novel itself. I love it when books explore what it means to a character to be bisexual, why that identity matters to them, and how it changes the way they relate to the world (if at all). Authors definitely aren’t obligated to make bisexuality a plot point or central to who a character is, but I personally would have enjoyed the book more if their bisexuality was discussed at least in passing beyond a mention of prior same-sex partners. (In other words, bisexuality is central to how I see myself and I enjoy reading about characters who feel the same way!)

Highlights:
- bi woman dating a bi man
- sex worker x client
- billionaire romance
- heavy on the spice 🔥 (and light on the plot)

Book Description:

BWBH Review:
Nikolai is a billionaire with zero time for relationships and everything they entail. For more intimate matters, he relies on an escort service. When his normal escort is no longer available for an event, he hires Corrine. He is instantly mesmerized by how she carries herself and her stunning beauty.

Nikolai and Corrine agree to a weekly arrangement: She will visit him every Sunday, and he will spoil her rotten. But with regular intimacy come feelings, no matter how hard they try to look past them.

The Pleasure Protocol is perfect for readers who enjoy Russian billionaires, a strong, confident FMC, and a whole lot of “Yes, Sir”.

Thank you to Darcy Romaine, Kat Alexander, and NetGalley for the ARC.

Lawd have mercyyyyyyyy! (Insert Leo DiCaprio biting his fist here) This captivating, elegant, billionaire/escort novel might just have you reaching for your favorite toy (or significant other). From the start this book had my attention, and rightfully so. Nikolai Zaitsev commands the attention with just his presence on the page, and he’ll quickly have you begging for just one more chapter. Chapter 10 will have you wishing you were back in school with Mr. Zaitsev as your professor.

Personally, I’m a fan of well written kinks. Moreso when they’re ones I find interesting, such as pet play where you’ve got a few options for how both Owner and Pet want things to turn out. Now give me a pleasure Dom who wants nothing more than to spoil is pretty, pampered little pet and ya girl is sold. My soul is yours, take it, just gimme the goods. And I will full heartedly attest to the perfection in pampered pet play that both Darcy and Kat have written.

Not just that, but my gods. The chemistry between Corrine and Nikolai was off💥the💥charts! I may have shed a few very real tears along with our stunning FMC as she navigated understanding her feelings too. The emotions, the spice, the decadence.. TPP has quickly made its way onto my reread list, having found such love for these two characters.

There was nothing I didn’t love about this book. From Nikolai’s earnest (and very naive) attempts to make his feelings known to Corrine’s guarded judgment of letting someone else in and everything they learn together about themselves and each other was just pure perfection and bliss.

The Pleasure Protocol is available NOW on KU!

Darcy and Kat, thank you so much for allowing me to be lead through such an enticing story with such a pretty leash. Can’t wait to see what’s next!

Nikolai is a cybersecurity billionaire burned by love before
Corinne is introduced to him by his old escort Elijah after he falls in love and leaves the business.
What starts as a business agreement clearly builds into something more for both of them even though neither of them realize before its too late.
Nikolai lavishes her with gifts and they fall in an amazingly romantic sub/dom relationship.
Corinne delves into subspace as she becomes way too safe in his arms and explores kinks she never thought she would enjoy.
The entire book is just sex and I’m totally here for it.
The authors take you along the journey of Nikolai and Corinne as they both discover that Love can be something they are both worthy of.
Absolutely adored this book and totally binged it in one day because I did not want put it down!

Favorite Quotes from the book

“Desperate little thing, aren’t you? So eager, like you haven’t been 🦆Ed properly in ages”

“A pretty thing all wrapped up in pretty things, just for him”

“Had me focused on your hands all night when this was in your trousers”

“Your mouth is heavenly or maybe sinful? Are you an angel or devil, I wonder?”

“She is gone… the collar, the knelling, the rules, the many orgasms. Hearing him call her beautiful and darling little pet. She is 🦆 Drunk, deep in subspace and entirely under this thumb”

If you’re looking for a spicy, BDSM, billionaire romance, look no further!

Follow MMC Nikolai, a 41yr old cybersecurity billionaire, and FMC Corinne, a 29yr old artist and escort, in this dual POV. Nikolai prefers the single and casual lifestyle, choosing to hire his company for events and personal pleasure. Corinne finds herself filling in for her best friend on a last minute date with Nikolai, and the two hit it off. See how the two fair during career enhancements, emotional turmoil, and discovering the world of High Protocol parties.

Perfect amount of spice and varying kinks are explored in this novel (please read the book’s trigger warnings!) - teacher/student, D/s, Master/pet, BDSM, voyeurism, etc. You can tell that the authors did their research to understand this world. Chapters flow right into one another, even if the POV changes so you never miss a minute of the heat. The personal connections, background, and Russian cultural references were also unique and gave a greater depth to the characters and story overall. It provided a believability aspect that some romance novels lack. Overall, I couldn’t put this book down, and finished it extremely quickly. I’m hoping for a sequel!

HOLY FREAKING HOT STUFF.

I’m not sure what I was expecting from this novel but it was certainly not this (in the best way possible).

We meet closed off, emotionally unavailable Nikolai and all-business, no play Corinne, when Nikolai’s regular escort leaves the business and offers Corinne as a replacement. They embark on a business relationship that turns into something so much more than either of them expected. I immediately loved their dynamic and chemistry. While their physical relationship started immediately, their romantic relationship was the most delicious slow burn!

The way the authors were able to take some INTENSE “play” and make it sweet and endearing is a talent in and of itself. Furthermore, the communication and connection that is portrayed between our FMC and MMC was so amazingly beautiful and was the highlight of this book for me. It’s like if 50 Shades of Grey were written by someone who actually knows and understands the BDSM community.

But seriously, this book was very well written and did such a great job at portraying a lifestyle that is, more often than not, looked down upon. And lastly… THE SMUT WAS SMUTTING HONEY!! 🥵🤤

First I want to say this book is in third person-which is not my fave and the reason I took off a star! While it is dual POV I feel like first person would have made this top notch.

Please check triggers before reading the book.

Well what can I say about this book besides rule #1: don’t fall in love🖤

Nikolai is such a sweet guy who loves to pamper and spoil his partners. When he needs a date and his usual escort is unavailable, he is recommended Corinne.

Corinne is intelligent, sassy and of course becomes Nikolai’s ‘pet’. She’s been an escort for many years and has rules she follows but what happens when those rules start to blur for her?

Nikolai is the CEO of a cybersecurity company and has a hard time with mingling and dealing with women who want to use him for his money. Which is why he uses an escort company-no feelings.

Corinne is extremely confident in what she does and who she is as a person. I absolutely loved reading how these two come together and the trust that is shared between them.

Let’s also talk about the spice! Because we all know that what we come for😜

When your number one rule is to not fall in love, what do you think is going to happen?

I couldn't put this book down!

This book is fun and sexy! Of course, there's spice in it, but there is so much more to it than that.

As you read the book, you learn more and more about the characters, which just makes you fall in love with them more and more.

I haven't read many books with BD/SM in it, but I'm happy that I read this one. It encourages safe play and boundaries. Even though the leads are aware that their relationship is transactional in a professional way, there is so much respect to their boundaries, I respect that.

Seeing the relationship develop outside of their agreed transactional relationship was great. You hear about their first times, and about some past traumas. You really see when they fall for each other, whether they acknowledge it right way or not.

I believe this is a stand-alone book for this couple, but it would be great to see maybe a different couple surface in this universe. I would read it.

4.5 🌶

The Pleasure Protocol was a very spicy read! For the first time, I understood the appeal of collared pet play. 🔥🔥 Nikolai was incredibly attentive and caring, before, during, and after scenes. His possessiveness, while accepting of her lifestyle, was incredibly hot. They were honest and open-minded regarding sex and sexuality. The way they delved into the emotional aspects of dom/sub/kink play, including subdrop, was excellent.

The authors did a great job blending their voices into a cohesive story. Admittedly, I had a hard time getting into the book initially, mostly because of the third-person POV and a little repetitiveness in the beginning. However, I truly grew to love Nikolai and Corinne and their encounters/relationship. The Pleasure Protocol was a really good read that I highly recommend if you like smut!

Alrighty! The spice was spicy, the plot was kind of there, but not really.. SO that's the type of book this was.
Nikolai is a sweet and caring character even tho he is a billionaire who does not want a relationship, but loves having a "pet". Corrinne is an escort, loves her job and is very good at it.
Together they make the perfect couple by understanding each others limits and communicating well in the bedroom. BDSM comes into play often in this book so be aware of that!

Tho some of the scenes I feel like could have been more detailed and I really wish the book was written in first person instead of third because the dual POV would have flowed more easily. Also there was zero drama in the book, no miscommunication, a lot of "thank you" and dialogue which is great, but I am one for drama so I was kind of hoping for it.

Right off the bat the chemistry between these two is hoooot.

Corinne’s confidence and sex appeal really shines through the page. I really, really liked her. Nikolai is a kinky Dom, that goes to church on Sunday, and acts of service is his love language. There is this air about Nikolai that you can sense - he’s dominate while still being tentative…..BDE as Elijah would say! It wasn’t hard to find these two lovable and to root for them!

With good chemistry between your couple, you’re going to get hot as fuck smut! And this book didn’t disappoint. I had to walk away sometimes because these two were just 🔥. The dirty talk 👏🏽👏🏽. I am a reader that goes feral for some good dirty talk. The scenes never felt forced and always made sense - ITS PORN WITH A PLOT!!!

Also the communication between these two *chefs kiss*

Even the side characters were great. Indali was my favorite!!!!!!!!

I didn’t want this book to end, I couldn’t put it down. I was mad when I had to. I woke up early this morning before work to finish it!
