Authors Hermann and Jones argue that the prevalent theories we rely upon for getting in shape are fundamentally flawed at their foundations. Together, they present a compelling case that challenges the status quo and conventional wisdom. This book is the result of years of expertise, experimentation, and real-life testing by the authors, both leaders in the field of health and fitness. This all-in-one guide will help you ditch calorie-counting, break dieting cycles, and get the body you have been desperately searching for. Unlike most fad diets and nutrition plans, you will learn how to structure and implement your own diet (not someone else's). If you have constantly struggled to be in good shape, if you have tried every diet imaginable, if you've taken every supplement or pill, and you have tried every fitness program on the highly saturated market, then you're about to discover the answers you have been searching for!
Well, this book is an eye-opener. Co-written by a nutritionist and personal trainer, it does an excellent job demonstrating the science behind nutrition and why the "calories in-calories out" advice given by so-called experts is junk science. You can lift all the weights you want, walk your daily 10,000 steps, etc., but unless you're taking a hard look at what you're eating and learning how your body stores and uses nutrients, you'll never get the results you really want to achieve. (And if you drink alcohol, you're well advised to read the deep dive into that chapter). I have only sampled a couple of the recipes so far, but they've been easy, nutritious and delicious. This is not a diet: it's a lifestyle of nutritional eating. The white chocolate-raspberry protein ice cream bars are the bomb! Highly recommend this book.
