Meet Me Again One Day: A Second Chance Contemporary Romance

Rate this book
Maggie

I really thought I had it all. A loving boyfriend, a budding career, and a job opportunity that dreams are made of. Then one simple question rattled the foundation of my life.

Will you marry me?

I never wanted marriage and that was always clear. So when my perfect boyfriend of five years gets down on one knee, my heart breaks. All this time together and I wonder if he ever listened to a word I said.

I have to stay true to myself. Even as I walk away from him and throw myself into my career, I know there will never be another way for us to be together again.

If only I could stop loving him.

Ethan

I fell for Maggie, and fell hard. Our five-year anniversary was planned perfectly. Some wine, some takeout and an engagement ring that would look amazing on Maggie's beautiful hand.

Instead of jumping for joy when I proposed, Maggie left. She got as far away from me as she could and took her dream job in Paris. (Not that I know, because she blocked me.)

But I'm not giving up on us.

If I have faith in anything in this world, it’s me and her. I’m still in love with Maggie—and there’s no way I’m letting her get away again.

Meet Me Again One Day is a full-length, interconnected standalone romance featuring strong language, mature themes, and struggles with mental health. While this book is the second in a series, the first book is not required to enjoy the second. Maggie and Ethan will get their own unique happy ending within these pages.

First off Vs writing style is perfect! Such easy flowing chapters, she really makes sure you understand her characters.
Now Maggie is strong independent woman and she wants what she wants and that’s that! Ethan is strong in his love for her and little immature but they work and love will always find a way! This is such a uniquely different love story and I’m here for it. Also the detour with Juju .. take me now 🤣

A beautiful story about being a square peg surrounded by round holes, questioning the traditional norms, love, heartbreak, perseverance, and forgiveness.

Veronica sure knows how to take you on a journey of second chance romance with the FMC is calling the shots.

Maggie is a strong willed, force to be reckoned with. She believes what she believes and doesn’t let anyone tell her differently.

Ethan is everything a real man should be and he loves endlessly.

Their love is unconditional and you get to follow them on their journey of discovering that.

Oh and I can’t forget to mention Julien. 🥵

I gave this book a 3.5 but rounded up to 4. This book is really well written. I really enjoyed the love story of Ethan and Maggie. I love how it includes part from the 1st book, but could still be a standalone. I also loved Maggie’s family being included more. I could definitely see a book on Maggie’s parents when they were younger! What I was not a huge fan of was parts of Maggie. She has some really great qualities too like, but I feel like she was getting repetitive and having the same conversations with different characters.

Overall, it was a good book. If you haven’t read the first one, you should definitely check it out! I am excited to see how book 3 goes!

“Like recognizes like, and I can tell this man doesn’t want to talk about his past anymore than I do. After all, I’m here to live my life, not mourn a death.“

Have you ever held onto a balloon on a windy day and you were holding onto the string, knowing you would never let go, but in the back of your mind you know the string could break?

That is how it felt reading this book. The characters are written so well that I want to search them on instagram to see what they are doing now. They are perfectly imperfect.

Maggie is determined to start rebuilding her heart in Paris and, well, Julien’s (you know the co-workers brother) sweet French words in and out of public is HAWT!! I LOVE that Maggie isn’t just pining and the author let Maggie move forward and we were not left with the expected storyline after her and Ethan broke up.
But, wait, ETHAN!! This man, he is so ON LOVE with Maggie, I mean they dated for over FOUR years, why wouldn’t he feel the next natural step is to propose? This is what people do, right? I mean, after Maggie broke up with him, he sees how he messed up, and he wants to make it better, but seriously…Maggie left the county AND blocked his number….so can we really blame him for drunk texting that girl and going on a date with her. I don’t, cuz Ethan may have made one BIG mistake, but he is always working to make it right…

Okay, seriously, I LOVE this book. It is a lot of tugs on the heart, but never so hard that you feel like you are broken. You are waiting for the snap, the breaking point, and it is so delicious.

I guess I should start by saying I didn’t love Maggie at first. She’s not my typical FMC and for that reason, I had to set the book aside for a few days.

Then I went back when I was in a different headspace and guess what, I absolutely fell in love with Maggie, Ethan, and pretty much everything about Meet Me Again One Day.

I won’t lie, Maggie can come across a little abrasive to some. She is unapologetically feminist and very aware and vocal (at least internally) of the societal pressures we face every single day. Coming back to the book with a feeling of F yeah, hear me roar, really kickstarted my love for this book.

A huge plus for me was that overall, everyone who does wrong can admit that, and they actively work on fixing their problems. There’s no hiding things or simply sweeping it on the rug. Issues are truly talked through and worked on, and it was really the breath of fresh air I needed.

The only reason it’s not a full 5 star read for me is that some of the conversations and internal dialogue felt repetitive. Otherwise, this was a really great read for me. I’m really happy that I gave Maggie and Ethan the chance that they deserved.

Will absolutely be reading again and can’t wait for the next from Veronica.

After breaking up with her Boyfriend of 5 years, Maggie get´s a job in Paris, fleeing from her true feelings, she hides there for the next 6 or 7 months.

Back home, she has to face the loneliness and changes, that come with the breakup. Finding a new apartment is one of them. One day she is on her way to her apartment, only to find her ex-boyfriend in the same building, picking up his mail.

Starting a new job, after the breakup, Ethan thought, he would never see Maggie again, after leaving countless emails and phone calls/messages. But as fate has it, the architecture firm, that was hired to complete the building, is no other than the one Maggie is working for.

Will Maggie jump over her own shadow and forgive Ethan, will their love survive?

I had the ABSOLUTE please of ARC reading for this author unbeknownst of how much I would enjoy it. I mean, I was hooked...IMMEDIATELY.

This novel is for the girls. The girls who want their cake and eat it too. It features an independent says-it-with-her-chest FMC named Maggie, who works at an architect firm and refuses to settle down and get married because society deems that's normal. That decision alone causes a rift between her and our MMC, Ethan, who just wants to spend his life with her. With both of them torn on what forever looks like and Maggie jetting off to Paris on assignment for her firm, their breakup seems definite.

If you love a strong FMC, swoon-worthly romance, and second chances, I'd highly recommend this read.

I was honored to be on the ARC team for this book, and it did not disappoint! I absolutely loved the first book, Meet Me At Home, and I just knew I would love this one as well! I love Maggie’s personality, and it’s so fun to read and get a peek into her mind and heart. Also, hello Paris!! I’m a sucker for any book that visits Europe, so I was super excited to follow Maggie to Paris.

I don’t want to give away any plot. Just GO READ THIS BOOK!!! If you haven’t read Meet Me At Home yet, I highly recommend reading it too! They don’t necessarily have to be read in order, but I think the experience would be better if you do.

This is only Veronica Wynne’s second book, but I can already tell she’s going to be a long-time favorite of mine. I can’t wait to see what she does next. Did I mention she’s already working on book 3 of this series? Eek!!! 👀 🩵

This book is about Maggie and Ethan. We met Maggie in book one as she in Nicks sister. This is a second chance romance with some forced proximity elements. There are some slower parts and times I did not like Maggie but stick with it because its worth the read.

A beautifully written second chance love story. There's heartbreak and laughs.
There's giggles and spicy bedroom activities.
There's forced proximity and awkward first dates.
Simple put, it's a romantic drama that's had me emotionally connected to the main characters.
I was so invested in these characters that I found it hard to put the book down.

Veronica has done it again with the second book in the Meet Me series.

Meet Me At Home is such an amazing story and loved those characters so much. It’s no different between Maggie and Ethan.

I instantly fell in love with Maggie and while I was cheering her on I was also cheering for Ethan.

Another great contemporary romance and Veronica Wynne should be an “auto-buy author” for every romance fan.

This book had a little bit of everything! Devastation, happiness, familial love & growth, women empowerment, feminism, spice and so much more !
First and foremost, Ethan is a golden retriever and I love him & will not hear any other opinions on this.
At one point I wanted to grab Maggie by the shoulders and shake her & tell her to just forgive/trust the man already! But in the end, I’m glad she took the time to think things through and rebuild with a solid foundation.
I loved the dual POV & the way the author writes. You get a clear view into the mind of the MC’s, and you know what they are thinking.
I appreciated the way the mother/daughter relationship evolved & matured through understanding and unconditional love.

Julien. Hot. Do I even need to say more!

-Forced Proximity
-Workplace Romance (not boss/employee)
-Second Chance Love
-Sexayy Frenchman
-Women who stand up for what they want… or don’t want for that matter!
-Women in STEM

And lastly, I love love love that the author wrote this particular narrative. BECAUSE IT’S REAL and it’s not talked about often enough. This isn’t the 1920’s. Women don’t NEED men. If they are lucky, we WANT them around- and that doesn’t always mean marriage. Beautiful life long relationships can be a loving commitment without the legal document. So, thank you to Veronica for writing about women who deserve to have their voices heard .

I got this book at DDIM book event and got to meet and talk with Veronica and talk with her about her books. I totally started with book 2 only because she had me won-over with a Paris theme! Ah I've always wanted to go to Paris. I also enjoyed reading some French in there! 😍 wonder book and such a great ending after all the loops the FMC goes through! 🇫🇷🇫🇷🇫🇷

This book was heavy, intense, and admittedly somewhat depressing. It was a really good ending though, and the extended epilogue. I liked Ethan, thought Maggie was frustratingly stubborn (although I kind of understand why), and I think Molly is my favorite side character!

Meet Me Again One Day is book 2 in the Meet Me series. It is in the same universe, but DOES NOT require you to read the first one. From someone who has read the first, you do really benefit from getting to know the characters before hand from a different perspective. However, this does not at all impact reading, enjoying, and following the second book.

As a 30+ year old, it was so refreshing to read a romance book that seems more realistic to my age group. I was easily connected to the story and both main characters..so much so I could feel what they were feeling. I truly loved this book, and if Maggie was a real person ... I would be looking for her to be my friend. I didn't know how this book was going to end until the last 10ish%? Personally, I enjoyed that because it kept me hooked.

OKAY SO THIS IS WHY YOU SHOULD READ THIS BOOK. The TLDR version
✅ Second Chance romance
✅ Challenging societal norms in relationships
✅ Strong FMC and super loving and supportive MMC
✅ Spice, but not too much
✅ A good bit of workplace romance and forced proximity to make it *chefs kiss*
✅ Dual POV

Veronica Wynne knows just what to write to completely devastate me.

MMAOD is a beautiful story about growing up in a relationship, even if it means growing out of it.

As a fan of second-chance romances, this one really hit the mark. While Maggie's unwavering beliefs against the institution of marriage aren't for everyone, the story can still resonate with every woman who's ever wanted something different than she was told to want.

Maggie is a strong character and Ethan is just the type of man every feminist girl dreams of walking side by side through life with.

Also, Julien needs his own story, please!

This book is chef's kiss. Veronica's writing is impeccable, impeccable feel like I really know these people. The romance is beautiful and steamy. I love a more mature story. I devoured this and can't wait for the next!
