Took me a bit to collect my thoughts on this book for a while, but I can confidently say, that being able to write such a compelling story in only 208 pages is an incredible skill. It wasn’t too much or too little, the world building was wonderful.

And the characters were definitely a highlight for me, even though there were minimal characters, the story still managed to be full. At first I didn’t like Richard all too much, but he grew on me, his bitterness was understandable and honestly valid lol. But Karim and Jamal being his foil was a great addition I think, sometimes you need that unwavering optimism in your life.

Though the world is very very grey, I think this book has so much to offer in terms of story and world building, with some thought provoking commentary on oppressive systems that have been implemented in the fictional and as well as the real world.

And I think it was a great choice to end the book the way it did, loved that.

This was the first book I finished reading in years. Didn't get past a few pages on any other attempt. I saw the pages passing by and felt the book was too short, but it was the perfect amount of "story".

Getting a signed copy of this was super cool! Honestly, it's a great read. I love dystopian stories, like 1984, so this book was right down my alley. I liked the ending too.

I found this book, or more so the idea of this book on kickstarter, and I was instantly intrigued by the synopsis. Checked every day to see if will get funded and I was so happy when it happened. Original and very well written, I would recommend this to all lovers of dystopia and sci-fi.
