A former assistant of Arina Tanemura, Yui Kikuta made her debut in Hana to Yume magazine in 2002 with "In the Moonlight Teresa" in the June 1 issue of "The Hana to Yume" under the pen-name KyaKya Asano. Kimiyo Asano is Yui Kikuta's real name.
She was part of the "Strawberry Lunch" doujinshi circle along with Ai Minase, under her former pen-name, Kyakya Asano.
Re-debuted in Comic ZERO-SUM under the Name, Yui Kikuta, which she continues to use.
"You went charging in to face the villain without even waiting for your prince. I don't think there're many princesses out there like that."
This volume definitely had all the action AND lovey-dovey scenes that I don't even know what was my favorite part!
Wait, I'm not sure it falls into either category, but seeing this SUPER intense side of Eli had me cheering when reading! I agree with Chris that she has not changed and is just as passionate as ever. She didn't think about repercussions or if she would be successful in her quest, she just heard what was about to happen to some books and charged in, ready to take action! I loved it! I also appreciated how she got advice to not bottle up her feelings, but to be honest and open. I think that is a struggle for many of us, and seeing her take baby steps to overcome that bottling up was very sweet and rewarding.
I'll be honest and say those "rewards" usually unfolded in very sweet moments between Eli and Chris that made me squeal! LOL! I think they have a very beautiful relationship and really commend Eli for trying so hard to remember the memories she shared with him in the past. When she explained how much Chris treasured them and even thought about how those past memories have led to the future, she felt she MUST remember. It was heart-warming and seeing the joy on Chris's face of her just trying made this volume such a joyous one!
Though that ending! :o :o :o This series thus far has been pretty low-key with a lot of beautiful romantic moments. There isn't any drama or high stakes, but based on that ending, is that going to continue to be true for future volumes??
While nothing really BIG happens in this series, I still find it a delight to read nonetheless. Teenage me would have probably been even more head-over-heals for this series as it feels like the perfect romantic fantasy shoujo my past romantic self would have exactly wanted. LOL! Not saying I don't love romance now (I definitely still do LOL), but I think this is such a great and fun story for teen girls! It shows how there is beauty in having a deep and meaningful relationship in the simple things such as a partner's eyes light up on behalf of how much their bibliophile's eyes light up at getting/reading a new book.
In fact, I would say that Eli had some of the most perfect and romantic lines that show her growth in how much she loves and cares for Chris: "In these four years, you have become more irreplaceable to me than any book."
I, unfortunately, don't have any more volumes stored up on my Kindle to read, but that beautiful and amazing payoff right there makes me eager for a sale on this series so I can continue reading! Such a beautiful series!
(Also, I know I gushed a lot about the romance and such, but I LOVED the message of the "library of doctors" and how important is to care for those who are sick or poor and to value them as people. There is definitely more to that, but honestly, this might have been my favorite arc yet because Eli did not hold back in telling truths! So good!)
Eli is endearing, even as she's very uncertain of many things around her. The only thing she is not uncertain of is her protective streak over books. Eventually, perhaps, her acceptance of her own feelings if not Prince Christopher's given the way he continues to surprise her and shower her with affection. The childhood memories are also adorable and continue to fill in gaps in the story leading up to their engagement and why the prince is going to such lengths to secure their future together. Fortunately for him, it seems Eli holds him just as dear, even if she's not always very confidant when it comes to what she feels she deserves.

I already said this before but this manga is super cute, lately romance hasn't been calling for me except for this one. Right now, I think this is the only one that I really want to read. The plot keeps being very interesting and I like Elianna's development, I can relate so much to her love for books <3
"Moreover, they're trying to erase the evidence by burning the books... We can't call them human anymore!!"
Well, well, for the past three volumes, this prince is not as useless as the others. And he truly loves his fiancee and was not easily swayed by another.
Also, I also quite liked this female MC. Although, she's gentle, quiet, seems subservient and meek, she's intelligent and does what she could. There's also a spine of steel somewhere hidden.
I read the previous volume some time ago and I don’t remember what happened, so Vol 3 was a little confusing. Even so, I enjoyed Elianna and Christopher’s dynamic and how forward-thinking Elianna is.
Another volume load of cuteness and romance which I like. I like the story of them meeting in the past and I am glad the artist of the manga included that part.
I absolutely love this series! Both the storyline and the artwork are incredibly beautiful! I recommend this manga to everybody out there who loves great love stories, as well as an incredibly strong and smart, yet feminine female character. I gave this episode 5 stars, and I hope the next volume comes out soon!
This story keeps getting better and better! With our young protagonist's love blooming, we see new challenges coming their way. So exciting! I can’t wait for the next volume.
