The schemes of deities are always multi-course affairs.

Three years ago, gods and demons united against a common enemy. Now a terrible, ancient secret threatens to tear that alliance apart.

Leda Pandora, the Angel of Chaos, has a complicated family. Her father’s a god, her mother’s a demon, and her daughter is destined to one day become the savior of the universe . . . if Leda can keep her safe long enough to grow up.

Unfortunately, the universe might need saving a little sooner than expected.

Whole worlds are going dark, deities are dying, and both gods and demons are each blaming the other for it. Every day, the threads of peace grow weaker. The countdown to war is ticking, and if Leda can’t uncover the real culprit in time, the alliance won’t be the only thing in tatters—the whole universe will burn in the aftermath.

Demon’s Mark is the eleventh book in the Legion of Angels series.

"Much as I hate to interrupt you while you're waxing poetic about yourself, I'm afraid reality's come calling. Sole angel? What am I, a decorative urn?"
"No, you, Leda Pandora, are something else entirely."

Okay so this book was good but I still feel like some things are missing. Because the series is finally reaching its finale (I think???) the book is more centred around the plot and the guardians, demons and angel gods. What I am missing is the banter between Nero and Leda. Also they literally leave their child every five minutes so you don't actually see Nero or Leda act as parents. All in all the series is still amazing to me and its definitely on par with Ilona Andrews books, I just hope we get more screen time of Leda and Nero in the next book.

The Legion of Angles is a great example of a good series spoiled by bad communication. I used to love this series. I discovered it in high school on my library's Hoopla catalogue as e-books (I think only the first 4 books were out then?). I was in the author's facebook group, I was on her mailing list, I eagerly awaited new of the next book, which she would post somewhere, and I would request my library to buy. Then, she changed her facebook. Then her website. At some point I stopped receiving emails from the newsletter. Then, the only way to see if a book had dropped was to constantly check the series' Goodreads page (thank f**k that didn't somehow get deleted too). Eventually, I stopped checking.

Then, last week, while starved for interesting and fun literature, I was desperately searching Goodreads for something new, or at least something old that I hadn't read in a while, and I stumbled across the like 5 new novellas and 2 new books in this series? What!!?? When??!!

I'm a poor grad student so books aren't really in the budget, so I can't just go buy these, but I've requested them both from my public library (shout out to oddly well-funded public libraries in resource-starved cities!!). I can't wait to see what Leda and Nero do next!

***Update***

Okay so I read Demon's Mark and I have such conflicted feelings! On the one hand, it was so so so so so so nostalgic to be back in the Legion universe, specifically the Legion of Angles series world. While I like Candace and Damiel, they're not remotely as well-developed and intricate and loveable as Leda and Nero's characters and relationship. I swear I did a little dance when I opened the book.

On the other hand, I found Demon's Mark so underwhelming compared to the earlier books in the series.

For one, even though Immortal Legacy is a totally separate series, it would definitely be really hard to understand the plot or the Legion world without reading it, which I feel is really unfair to readers. I read the Immortal Legacy books when they came out, and I never picked them up again because I just didn't love them, and there were a lot of times when I really struggled with understanding Demon's Mark.

Second, this book was all over the place. Like, jeez, it felt like I had whiplash at times. Although the earlier books had sidequests and sideplots, they really overwhelmed the main plot and storyline in Demon's Mark.

Lastly, though, and most importantly, I just feel like the Leda and Nero of Demon's Mark just weren't the Leda and Nero I fell in love with. I think it's great to have dynamic characters, but these characters didn't even feel like the same people. The old Leda was spunky and snarky and whip-fast and fashionable and aspiring and driven. This Leda just felt so tame ☹️. She felt like a shadow of her character in the first books. Leda in Vampire's Kiss absolutely pops off the page. I'm told frequently that I'm 'not for everyone' because I'm 'a lot' (and that's fine, if you don't like me, leave), and that original Leda resonated so deeply with me; this Leda was a stranger. And don't get me started on this Nero. The old Nero was brooding and committed and sexy and he had ethics and rules that guided his life, and he put Leda above ALL ELSE. He just felt really watered down. He was still hot for Leda, but he was also ALWAYS at work, and not in the way he was before. Now, seeing this Nero reminded me of how my parents never came to my soccer games or parents days at school when I was younger because they were too busy with work (I s**t you not, they sent my aunt to the father's event day at school). I'm not gonna lie, seeing this Nero was kind of depressing.

Leda and Nero's relationship still got some "screentime," but that also just felt like it took a backseat. What happened to the dude that involved himself in initiate training, something WAY below his pay grade, because he had a dream that he loved a girl? What happened to the couple sneaking kisses and having sex in the library? What happened to the dude who ignored direct orders time and time again and was gonna go AWOL if he didn't get the girl?

Maybe it's just nostalgia getting in my way of appreciating a good book--don't get me wrong it's still a GREAT book--but Demon's Mark just hit different, and not in a great way.

⭐⭐⭐

Also, just a side not, I couldn't not mention that toddlers don't talk or act that way. I like to call this the Emily-in-Paris-ification of characters, because the Emily in Paris characters don't freaking talk or act like real people. That show (it's my guilty pleasure--nothing feels better after a bad day than absolutely RIPPING into Emily) is like if you described human beings and human interactions to an alien and then told them to write a Netflix series about fashion in Paris. Why and how could you Emily-in-Paris-ify a BABY--I'm dead 💀

Demon’s mark is the eleventh book in the Legion of Angels series, the series must be read in order.

Leda is back and better than ever! I’ve been reading this series since 2017 so it has a special place in my heart.

This book is very fast paced and a lot happens. It was weaved so artistically that I couldn’t predict what would happen next.

Leda is the queen in my eyes, she’s smart, stands up for what’s right and is so loyal to her family.

Nero is still swoon worthy, in the past I have been disappointed that Nero hasn’t been in certain books as much as I would like. However, I didn’t feel this way in Demon’s Mark. I felt like we saw a lot of him and his relationship with Leda. Extra bonus: we got to see him being an overprotective dad to Sierra!

Leda’s family is my second favourite relationship in this book (after Leda and Nero’s). The family bonds between Leda, Calli, Tessa, Gin, Zane and Bella are awe-inspiring.

I got to see so many favourite characters! Jace, Harker (and yes, Harker and Bella together), Alec, Angel (Leda’s cat), Stash, Cadence, Damiel and we found out the gender of all the babies!
For the majority of this book I rolled my eyes whenever Faris appeared, but towards the end something changed and - dare I say - I sort of liked him… I am being cautious though.

This book doesn’t end in a cliffhanger, but also doesn’t end in a HFN, it’s somewhere in between.
Also, I highly recommend going to Ella Summer’s website/ subscribing to her newsletter because she has a lot of awesome things going on there relating to the Legion of Angels and other series!

Demon’s Mark was phenomenal; I loved it! Seriously, no more words necessary because I don’t really have additional words to describe how I felt after reading this book. It was too good! I can’t wait to read the next one.

Plot: 📚📚📚📚📚

5 STARS! ONE OF THE BEST PNR / FANTASY SERIES OUT THERE! 🩷💜🩷

BRAVO to Ella Summers! The Legion of Angels series has it all, and I am mean ALL. This is a paranormal, fantasy series that includes a kick-ass heroine that goes by the name "Leda" (for me she is the star of the series), an amazing and HOT H "Nero" and very colorful, diverse and incredible second characters that make this series a one-in-a- million!. If you like, action, fantasy, HUMOR, romance and basically a well written and imaginative story, then you will love this series, no questions asked. You will get to see how the h evolves through-out this series by interacting with the H, meeting new friends and overall staying true to her origins and family. I am an avid reader, and if I'm honest I don't impress easily, but this series had me hooked from the beginning to the latest book book (#11 - waiting anxiously for #12). Congrats Ella, your imagination and writing skills are truly magnificent! Highly Recommended :-)

Great continuation of Leda and Nero’s story!

Leda is off to another adventure to solve a mystery to save Earth. As Leda tries to figure out the secret the gods and demons are hiding, she comes across a former enemy.
Great continuation of this amazing world that Ella has built. Leda is now juggling saving the world and being a mom, Nero is a really cute dad. I loved the new dynamic between Leda and Nero as they juggle their new life. This book showed a new side of some of the gods and demons as well as some of our beloved characters.
They will do anything to protect their daughter Sierra even if it means going to war.

Can’t wait to read the next book!

This series is one of my favorites series of all time, I highly recommend it to anyone who’s looking for:
Great world building
Sassy strong FMC with a hit Angel boyfriend
Hot romance
Paranormal
Vampires and angels

They're Back!!!!

I'm not good with words, but I am an avid reader. I am hooked on this series!!! If you like angels, gods, soldiers, bounty hunters, chaos, drama, comedy, and romance, this is the series for you. Leda and Nero are my relationship goals. Of course there can't be peace for too long or Leda would get bored, which is what was happening until someone or more than one someone started not only trying to topple the Angel/Demon alliance but stealing necter and venom. And of course, they all want to control Sierra, Nero and Leda's daughter, who by the way is Pandora reincarnated. So lots of intrigue, mystery, and some twists you won't expect, I can guarantee you will fall in love with the whole gang. This series is a must read. Thank you Ella Summers for giving us another book in this series!

Love Leda

I’m so excited we are getting more of this world. I really have missed the sassiness of Leda (the queen of chaos lol) also known by most as Pandora. She is one of my favorite urban fantasy characters.

This is the 11th book in the series so some of this may be spoilers. Leda is mated to an arc-angel and mother to a very special daughter. But even more important is her ability to use chaos to bring balance to the delicate relationship between heaven/hell/earth and all that occupy it. As she fights to find ancient relics they can harm that delicate balance. Her chaos only stirs more chaos. With her heritage being Father King of Gods and Mother Queen of Demons her life comes with more secrets and people trying to use her than she can fight. However, you come for her family, ones she has chosen as her family or friends…her chaos will consume you

The eleventh book in this series hits the ground running and hardly slows down. As we are nearing the end to this series, Leda and Nero are thrust into a battle that no one knows who is starting it, the demons and gods blaming each other. It will up to Leda to find the answers to save the truce between the two factions and still protecting their daughter Sierra and along the way and find out who is stealing all the immortal artifacts.

There was a good suspense storyline running in this one, and it’s a tangled affair when everything comes to light. I would liked to have seen more Leda and Nero time, but I really enjoyed Leda with her father, Faris. My only gripe was that Nero seemed more on the sidelines this time. This is a fantastic series for anyone who loves the fantasy genre. A series that I could easily read again

I love this particular series; and it did not disappoint. I am anxiously waiting for the next installment. So I don’t know if I’m giving spoilers as I am writing off the dome. But here it goes. Nero and Leda Pandora’s adventures have always been drawing. Though, I hate that they never have time to create action for each other. We see Now the Progression of feelings with Faris and Grace. Which was hinted throughout the series that it was more than a business move to create Leda. Maybe, it started that way to use as an excuse to see each other. Bella? Can she be cured or was she going to continue to be a monster by day? And stash. I really liked that Leda realized that despite disfunction; she loved having her whole family. Which was something she never experienced. 4.5/5 is the rating for this book.

I really wanted to enjoy this book more as I really love this series but this book seemed different. I picked it up some time after the previous book but I was about to dive back into the story and remember most of the characters. Still love the vibe and the characters. However, I feel that maybe the time skip affected the story? I'm not sure, I felt that the tone of the story changed. I think the story line wasn't as cohesive and it kind of felt like we jumped around more than I like.

I guess I'm also a little confused, not sure if the focus is still on Leda or her daughter at this point.

It's a good book, but I feel like it didn't live up to the previous books in the series. Still will read the next book!

2.2 out of 5 rating for me!

A twisted read!

The schemes of deities are always multi-course affairs...

Whoa... my mind is officially blown. How the hell the author managed to fit everything that happened in this course of the novel into one book, I will never know.

But, I do know this - I can't wait to see what happens in the next part of this story. It will be even more complicated and compelling than this book, that I can guarantee.

Full of gods, demons, powers, action, deception, adventure, angels, secrecy, demigods, surprises, truths, danger, manipulation, trust and love.

Perfect for readers of paranormal romance/urban fantasy.

I have so many authors I love so very much, and this is one, so you can imagine how excited I was to see another book in this series. I am happy to say that I’m pretty sure this was a setup to another story arc, and I’m down for it. Leda, Nero and so many others are on the hunt to find out what is trying to shake the fragile peace between the demons and angels. And, of course, Lega won’t rest because her chaos is up to the challenge. This is a well-written roller coaster ride that you don’t want to get off. It was wonderful to see so many characters from past books, and I can’t wait to see that this author has in store for us next. Highly recommend. I was provided a complimentary copy which I voluntarily reviewed.

Omg!! Ella Summers does it again. This book was worth the wait. Leda Pandora and her husband Nero Windstriker are doing a fantastic at not only being parents but also keeping the world safe.

This story takes place three years after Phoenix’s Refrain. Leda and Nero are getting ready to celebrate Sierra’s birthday. However, when it comes to Pandora life is not simple and always full of chaos.

We see old and new enemies along with some shocking new alliances. This book is a fun rollercoaster adventure.

I can’t wait for the continuation of this series.

Don't disappear again

Fantastic book. Phoenix's Refrain was the first legion book I struggled with. This definitely was redeeming and it was incredible all throughout. The ending was certainly a twist I didn't see coming but I'm super excited to see what comes next from the new promotion and also what comes next in the series. Welcome back Ella Summers. You once again outdid yourself with another Legion masterpiece.

Leda's Back!!

I feel like I've been waiting for this book for so long and let me tell you - it did not disappoint!

I love seeing how far we've come with Leda and Nero. The entire book had ne captured throughout, and I honestly couldn't put it down!

I was kept guessing the entire way through and honestly couldn't predict where it was leading!

Now I have to wait for the next one!

After celebrating a wonderful birthday party for their little daughter Sierra, Leda and Nero are sent on a mission by Leda‘s father. They end up in the middle of a plot to start a war between the gods and the demons.

Sierra is very cute spoiled brat and need some spankings (i.e.: the meatball game). Poor Angel.

Fave scenes: Sierra picking out a dress, the ring artifact, Leda’s nectar drunk and Leda getting Grace out of the cage.

I’m amazed the story is still so exciting and there is so much more going on. I very much love these books. Leda sometimes does act a little more childish than I like, but I still love her. And Nero of course. All the lip licking did get a bit tiresome. But that’s me. Looking forward to the next book.

Back to greatness

This is my FAVORITE book series but I found the previous book a difficult read because there was just too much packed in to a single book. If you’re in the same boat I’m happy to report that this book is back to the same rhythm as previous ones and is just as good a read! Thank you for coming back Ella, we missed you!!

I love Leda she is amazing character. She doesn’t really want the spotlight she just wants to get things done. She would like to cut through the red tape. I’m glad we see the other characters in up coming books because that is important with defeating the guardians.

I never get tired of this..

The story continues and it is not to be missed with the twists and turns and memories revisited of books past, crafted nicely with wonderful characters. I probably could have done with a little more vengeance honestly but the story also fits better with forgiveness rather than hellfire. Everyone thinks they’re the hero you know.

This is one of my favorite series. That being said, I was disappointed with this book. One of my least favorite storylines is when it focuses on the characters' weaknesses rather than their strengths. This series has been based on the strengths. A sad jump the shark story.
