Single Dad Hotline #1

Love Notes & Lifelines

Rate this book
From Amazon best-selling author Avery Maxwell comes a small-town billionaire, single dad romance with friends-to-lovers warmth, a hotline mix-up, community meddling, and a love note that changes everything.

The job was simple. Always answer the phone—no exceptions—then solve the caller’s catastrophe as efficiently as possible.

The rules were simpler. They contact you, not the other way around. Never give them your real name, number, or any personal information not required to help a newly single dad keep his head above water.

And never, ever get involved with a caller.

Simple, right?

Becker Hayes was not who I was expecting to call during my shift with the Single Dad Hotline. He’s my boss’s boss. In the boardroom he’s rich, powerful, detached. In my calendar he’s the enigmatic one-time kiss I was never supposed to see again. But on the other end of the phone, he’s vulnerable and reeling from becoming guardian to his young nieces.

I’m not thinking straight when I offer him a little help off the books. Not when my mother’s illness is winning the battle and I’d give anything for a distraction from the loneliness.

So when the Single Dad Hotline blows up my life, what’s a girl to do but say yes to everything he’s offering?

Long review ahead...

Becker (35) and Stella (29) shared a kiss a year ago because they thought they'd never see each other again. That day was the end of her temp position in his company, so they didn't break any rules. Anyway, six months later, Stella has been hired to be the assistant to Beck's general counsel. So she's not directly reporting to Beck, but they still work on the same floor. They agreed to never speak of that night and to be professional with one another. So in the present time, she's been working close to him for the past six months.

Stella's juggling two jobs at the moment to earn money for the care of her mom, who has dementia. Her coworker referred her to a friend who has a hotline business that offers help to single dads. Knowing this is another potential source of income, she applied to become a hotline helper and got hired.

Beck has been estranged from his older sister for the last seven years, but he received a call from her lawyer stating she passed away due to cancer, and he was entrusted to be the guardian of the two daughters she left.

He didn't know what to do and had no clue about this parenting stuff, so he called the single dad hotline, and Stella was assigned to be his helper. He senses she's familiar but can't point out why. Idk, why he didn't place her voice, tbh. All he knows is that with every call, she calms him and helps him with his problems.

Anyway, hiding her identity didn't last long, and Beck eventually figured it out. Seeing as Stella's a huge help to him and that the girls warmed up to her rather quickly, he asked her to be their nanny, and she agreed once they negotiated her terms. It's also obvious that a part of hiring her was because he's still interested in her. Even though it has been a year since their kiss, his attraction only intensifies with each passing day they work together. 🤭 It's mutual anyway, but they both don't have time to entertain such thoughts.

Beck's trust issues, guilt over cutting off his sister, and his sudden single dad status were his main worries here. It took him quite some time to overcome these problems, and his trust issues and insecurities made him almost lose Stella. At the 80%+ mark, I got annoyed that his problems ruled him for a few minutes before he came to the realization that she's not capable of betraying him. I was pissed at his reaction but then also pleased that he let her cool off and didn't bulldoze his way. But I have to say, I did enjoy seeing him panic over the possibility of losing her forever.

Stella's trust and abandonment issues, her thoughts of wanting to be needed by other people, and the reality of losing her mom in a few months were her biggest concerns here. Seeing her being treated like crap and for her to let it happen made me struggle to root for her. But, tbf, her meek reaction was caused by her PTSD. So to see and read her panic attacks made me feel angry at the bad things that happened to her. No one, and I mean, no one deserves what she went through, her ex is a POS. 😤 Yet, I'm proud that she finally grew some spine around the 82% mark; although a bit too late in the story, I'm still happy that she did, because it takes a lot of courage to do something like that.

As for the romance, it was okay. They're both attracted, and the months haven't waned the feelings they both have. While this is an ongoing thought in their POVs, I was still floored to read Beck dropping the love bomb. It felt like it came out of nowhere. Like, how did that even happen? 🤧 But apparently, they fell in love and while I didn't understand the why's or how's, I'm still happy for them. 💖

In all honesty, the family drama, trauma, betrayals, and death of a loved one were too much to handle and drained the crap out of me. I do get what the author was trying to narrate here, but I can't help but feel like it was all over the place. The book is fairly long, at 459 pages, and there were definitely parts that felt particularly drawn out. 😭

The last 20% was so exhausting, and I feel like all the energy I had was used up. Everything was laid out here, and truthfully, it was a bit overwhelming. How the story and revelation panned out was intriguing but still emotionally tiring. 😫

Overall, this was still a good one—not bad either. But prepare for dramaaaa and everything in between. I would still say it's an interesting read, but readers have to bear with the story before it gets better.

PS: I HATED Leo and Tabby's side plot! 🤬 I hope they don't get a book. See, they used to date when they were young, but "went on a break" as per Leo. He was in a band and had a stop in Vegas, using the "break", alcohol, and "young and dumb" excuses he ended up eloping with Tabby's younger sister. 🤢 Said he didn't do anything with her because it was a mistake, and they got annulled after a few years because Tabby's parents were religious and wanted Leo and the sister to make it work. He didn't follow through, but he let the marriage last for a few years before ending it. And even after it was annulled, he said it took him another two years "to get his head out of his ass"!!! I'm not interested in learning the mystery of what he did during those two years. However, my wild imagination is taking me down an undesirable road. 😤 Tabby was hurt, of course! She said it took her a few years to forgive him, but she will never forget what he did. In the present time, Leo was still trying to win her back, but in the bonus epilogue, they freaking got back together and are pregnant!!! Actually, Tabby's about to give birth. 🤮 Why she took him back, I'll never understand! 🤬 I really hope this is where their story freaking ends! Gooosh! My blood has never spiked so fast after reading that.

PPS: The second book's MMC is in the divorce process, and the owner of the hotline is the FMC. Idk, but the idea that the divorce is ongoing and the MCs might become close during this time doesn't sit well with me. He only divorced his future ex-wife because she was caught cheating at their daughter's recital. Actually, the stage's curtains fell, and everyone in the audience saw the NSFW position. 🤢

When Stella takes on a job at the Single Dad Hotline, she doesn't expect her day job's big boss, Becker, to wind up as her client. After a few calls, he starts to recognize her voice and when his situation becomes more critical, Stella is given an offer that is too good to refuse - triple her day job pay if she agrees to move in and be the nanny for his two little nieces. With her own mother's medical bills piling up, Stella agrees. Bet you know what happens next...

It may seem like a standard single dad/nanny trope romance to you but I guarantee you, this book is so much more. Avery Maxwell has written the characters in this book with so much depth that it is easy to see the progression they make from start to finish. Each character has their own story and their own growth and I was actually sad to have the book end, as witnessed by my tissues piled up next to me. Told through dual POVs, with lots of laugh out loud moments and cute lines by the girls that will have you saying aaaw throughout, I can't rave about this book enough.

This is my first Avery Maxwell book and I'm thrilled to see she has a huge backlist that I can't wait to delve into!

Thanks to @rowe.reads & @rick_283 with @hambright_pr for the gifted e-arc.

Stella is a devoted daughter who is working several jobs to make sure her mom, who has dementia, is well cared for. She’s still barely making ends meet though, so when her friend and coworker Elijah tells her about the Single Dad Hotline, Stella decides to give it a go. Much to Stella’s dismay, her first big client ends up being billionaire Becker Hayes. Becker is not only Stella’s boss at her primary job, but he’s also a recent one-night stand. Talk about awkward!

Becker is a successful businessman who seems to have everything going his way until his estranged sister dies. Her last wish is for Becker to raise her two daughters, 4 year old Emmy and 1 year old Ruby, so out of the blue, Becker finds himself clumsily trying to navigate life as a single dad. When his assistant Elijah recommends the Single Dad Hotline, Becker thinks it could be just what he needs. He has no idea why the nanny he has been assigned to seems so familiar though...

I adored both Stella and Becker, and I loved that even though this is technically a romance, it’s really so much more than that. This is a story about two people who have been so emotionally damaged by people and events in their past that, until they find each other, it seems impossible that they’ll ever be truly happy again. The chemistry between Stella and Becker is off the charts, not just sexually, but in terms of how they come together as a team to take care of those two adorable little girls. I was rooting so hard for this little found family to become a real family!

I don’t want to give away spoilers about their journey, but I will say that I binge read this book like it was a thriller. There’s some major family/business drama that threatens Becker and Stella and I could not put the book down until I knew how it was going to turn out.

If you’re in the mood for a beautiful story that is sometimes heartbreaking but that is ultimately filled with love and hope, this is the book for you!

I wanted to like this book more than I did. The plot got super complicated and I feel like there was so much going on that we lost the romance of the main couple.

When Stella Anderson was hired as an admin assistant at Crystal Waters she knew it was a risk. Her boss’s boss, Becker “Beck” Hayes, used to be her boss a while ago…and they had one S T E A M Y kiss! It’s risky to stay but when a coworker hands her a third side job working for a single dad hotline she thought why not. Imagine her surprise when none other than Beck, yes the same one, calls her line! What are the chances? As a new “father figure” to his two young nieces, Beck has no clue what to do. A little help would be amazing. Will he figure out that the helper on the other line is coming from the one woman he can’t stop thinking about? What a beautiful and sweet romance. This has a little of everything from silly moments with the children to touching and emotional moments that will have you grabbing a tissue. Seeing Beck grow as a man and new “father” was wonderful and Stella fits perfectly into her role as caregiver for everyone. This is such a touching, feel good romance. Swoon Worthy and a Top Read Of 2024! Told in first person and dual POV

Stella Anderson loves her mother. She takes numerous jobs to help take care of her, even though most days her mother doesn't remember her anymore. Her newest job is at the Single Dad Hotline and suddenly her day job boss, Becker Hayes, is her client. He has been named guardian of his two young nieces and has no clue how to take care of them. When the girls take to Stella, Beck asks Stella to be their nanny until he can find a permanent one. She agrees, though she is attracted to him, and they shared a long-ago kiss that she can't forget.

I was a little hesitant to read this, at first, because the Single Dad Hotline premise seemed a little cheesy. It wasn't. In fact, this is a very emotional read. Both Beck and Stella have issues with their family. Stella with her mother and Beck with his deceased older sister and the girls' current aunt, Dani, who is out for vengeance. This is told in dual POV from Beck and Stella. There were so many cute and LOL moments as Beck navigates parenthood. Plus, the secondary characters and sweet, funny dog named Dog were all an added bonus. I was rooting for all of them to get their happily ever after.

Thank you to Hambright PR and the author for the advanced reader copy. All thoughts and opinions were my own.

Avery Maxwell has done it again. This book makes you believe in karma and love. Becker doesn’t do relationships. After one kiss in a bar Stella can’t forget him and he can’t forget her either. She is then offered a position at his company and has to accept to keep her mother in the faculty she needs. Becker tries to fight the way he feels when she’s around but it gets increasingly harder for him. When his sister dies unexpectedly and he is made his two nieces guardian he’s in over his head. He finds out about the Single Dads Hotline and it’s his lifeline when he feels like he’s drowning. The twist? Stella is his helper on the hotline. This book even gives a couple of heaping helping of karma to Silas (Stella’s ex) and Delacruel the town’s rich bully woman and the girls Aunt. Great job Avery!

Spice - 🌶🌶

Trope - boss × employee, age gap, guardianship to single dad, billionaire romance, death and gried, nanny, fake dating, forbidden, forced proximity, found family, friends to lovers, grumpy × sunshine, hidden identity, second chance, slow burn, small town, EMOTIONAL, lots of drama, HEA
Bonus chapter - 1

When I began this book, I didn't expect it to be such an emotional rollercoaster. This book featured death, drama, emotions, love, and friendship. Additionally, the number of deaths mentioned in the first 8% was too many for me to grasp.

A year ago, Stella and Beck had kissed but never thought they would see each other again. However, when Stella is in urgent need of money, her friend gets her hired at Beck's firm.

Beck is a grumpy boss who doesn't trust easily. He feels confused and lost when he is unexpectedly given guardianship of his sister's daughters. When his friend suggests he use the Single Dad Hotline to get some help in the initial days. He gets assigned to Stella, who's working multiple jobs to keep her mom alive.

The late-night calls were beautiful and healing. I cried and smiled several times while reading them. However, the main character's relationship felt like a constant battle of push and pull. I didn't enjoy those moments as much, even though I generally love angst. As the book progressed, more and more tropes were added to the storyline. They transitioned from strangers to co-workers, then to a single dad and his nanny, and finally to fake fiancés—like, what in the world?

Stella is incredibly sweet and generous throughout the book. She cares deeply for the girls, providing them with comfort and love, even when she doesn’t know them. However, her character suffers a lot and watching her in pain was heartbreaking.

There's a "my wife" moment here and damn it was amazing. The love and comfort Beck provided Stella were incredible. His way of showing love to Stella was beautiful, and seeing her trust and rely on him made their relationship feel more genuine.

Witnessing their growth and the formation of the family they always desired was pure bliss.

The drama in their lives was never-ending, and honestly, after a point, it just exhausted me because if I were in Stella's place, I would have lost my mind.

Side characters -
1. Cally - she was such a loving mother, and even though she was gone, she did everything to protect and love her daughters. The way she kept helping the characters from above and beyond brought multiple tears to my eyes. I wish we had had a few moments with her before she was gone.
2. Elijah - his character was so supportive and loving. He was more than a friend to both Stella and Beck. The way he took care of and supported them like a true friend was lovely to read.
3. Daisie, the overprotective dog, was the sweetest, most loving creature in the book.
4. The small-town life, where the community not only welcomes you but also treats you like family, was so adorable to read - I loved every one of them.
5. Leo surprisingly stole the show in the last half.
__________________________________

The spice was limited to 3 chapters, so I won't say it was extremely spicy.

The only reason this wasn't a 5-star read was that the drama persisted until the very last chapter. I wish it had either been resolved sooner or fully depicted, with a definite outcome. This was followed by a "one year later" epilogue. I would have loved to know if the side characters had their own books, but I was pleased to see them all receive HEA in the epilogue and bonus chapter.

This was a good emotional book, and I cried through most of it.
Yet, I just wish I had more couple moments and a bit less drama.
Overall 4/5

You know those stories that you read and when you reach the end you are so giddy and just downright happy that you’re literally bursting with the need to grab everyone that comes near you and chat with them about the most beautiful and amazing characters you’ve just discovered? Well this is exactly how I feel about Beck and Stella!

I don’t have the right words to express how much I loved and adored this story!! Really, it was so much more than a story! It was an emotional experience that made me feel everything and I can honestly say I’ll be happily reliving these scenes for some time to come!

The way Avery Maxwell can build a character that both makes you dream of fictional heroes and heroines while also giving you something that you can relate to is awe inspiring and shows that she is truly a master of her craft!!

To say I loved Love Notes and Lifelines is an understatement for sure! Outstanding job Avery Maxwell!!!

This story is so far above a five star read!!! Trust me when I say it’s a masterpiece and I highly recommend reading it straight away!

The Westbrooks series was my introduction to this crafty storyteller and, while I adore every one of those stories, this one blows them all out of the water. Hands down, it's Maxwell's best work to date. In fact, if there were a master class on writing the perfect romance, this phenomenal romance could be the entire syllabus.

I love the premise of this one – a hotline for single dads who are in over their heads. The twist here is that the hotline helper Beck Hayes calls when he suddenly gets custody of his young nieces is none other than Stella Anderson, the assistant to his in-house legal counsel and someone he sees at work every day. Eventually, Beck convinces Stella to be the girls' nanny when he takes them back to their home in Sailport Bay.

There are so many elements that work beautifully together to bring this story alive. The charming town and people of Sailport Bay. The strong, vivid, endearing secondary characters. The bruised and dented main characters who help each other heal. Two adorable girls and their dog who tug at the heartstrings one second and had me laughing out loud the next. And the evil mastermind who causes a ridiculous amount of drama. I was there for every minute of it and couldn’t get enough!

I’m barely scratching the surface and can’t begin to do this one justice. This is one of those books I wish would never end so I could spend a lifetime with these characters. Seeing Beck and Stella fight their individual demons, overcome their difficult pasts, and create a hard-won family for two little girls who have lost everything is both heart-wrenching and awe-inspiring. The help and support from their friends and community made everything feel like family, and the drama was like binge-watching Dallas with a female tornado of an antagonist determined to destroy everything and everyone in her path.

While I’m sad to see it end, I can’t wait for more of this fantastic series! Romcom romance fan or not, you won’t want to miss this one. Easily one of my top five reads for the year, I guarantee you'll lose your heart to this poignant, heartwarming, laugh-out-loud funny romance.

I can’t get over 𝙇𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙉𝙤𝙩𝙚𝙨 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙇𝙞𝙛𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙣𝙚𝙨. You’ll laugh, cry, swoon, and probably feel some anger too. This book literally has it all! It’s one of those that I wish I could start all over again for the first time. The writing was fantastic, I haven’t read anything quite like this story before. When billionaire bachelor Beck suddenly and surprisingly becomes the guardian for two nieces he has never met before, he finds himself desperately needing help. Stella survives by being needed and always finds herself in situations where she is. They both have complicated histories and reasons to be distrusting. It was so fun, but also emotional, to read along as they get to know one another and help each other in a lot of ways.

Loved it!

Stella isn't sure if this new job offer is a blessing or a curse. She needs this job, so she plans to do what it takes to keep it. In fact, she might need more than one job to make ends meet. Becoming a nanny, anonymous over the phone, might be unusual but necessary in these circumstances.

Beck owns his company and when he has some unexpected news, he finds that he's in need of a nanny.

A story of two people that struggle to trust or let anyone in because of betrayal and loss. They have their own secrets and reasons to keep everyone at arms length. They may try to deny their connection to each other but it's becoming harder and harder to continue lying to themselves.

Elijah is the only exception, as they both consider him a true friend.

Two little girls and a dog might just make them want to create a family and in a place that Beck vowed never to return to.

I was hooked from the beginning, the characters were so real, I couldn't put the book down. I fell in love with the characters.

wonderfully complicated

Both Stella and Beck are broken to the point where they don’t trust anyone, especially themselves. But Beck’s friend Elijah may know more of what they need than they do. When Beck’s sister dies and he inherits her daughters he’s more than confused, he’s terrified. He turns for help from the Single Dad Hotline, not realizing it’s Stella, taking on three jobs or why she desperately needs the money.
I enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to everyone.

When two people who feel alone in this world for totally different reasons, "find each other". Throw in the craziest tale of getting their happily ever after. This is a heartwarming, but sad story, of finding and overcoming to get the life that they deserve. Throw in some great friends and a community that supports you know matter what.

How to share my thoughts without spoiling things? I honestly don’t know. I mean, get the tissues. And a soft spot to throw your iPad or Kindle when you’re so angry at a few characters you just have to pace. But also, have the knowledge that it will all work out as it should. Yes, this is a deep read tinged with some melancholy and grief. But it’s also an adventure of finding your best self, those who love and support you when you need it most, and your forever. Because that’s really at the core of this: finding love and acceptance and your true happiness.

Beck and Stella are truly everything you need them to be. They’re smart and stubborn and a little cracked and determined to do their best for two little girls who need them more than anything. The secrets come tumbling out as they need to, and some will shock you into rage for the victim of them. Trust me when I say that the person who cares about that victim gets justice though. And maybe a touch of petty vengeance with it, but I adored that even more.

I can’t wait for more of this series because I’m pretty sure we’ve got some excellent stories and love found ahead of us.

I go into every Avery Maxwell book knowing I’m going to love it because her writing is just phenomenal. This one, for me was her best one yet.
Beck and Stella both overcome so much both independently and together in their relationship to get their HEA. Their love for two little girls being bigger than the trauma of each of their past.
Avery always does a great job of writing believable dialogue for the kids in her stories, and that’s one thing I really appreciated throughout this book. Emma and Ruby were a huge part of Beck and Stella’s story and the way they were written just made everything flow together so smoothly.
The side characters will have you falling in love with them too, making you hope to see more of them in future books. I definitely didn’t want to leave the world of Sailport Bay and hope Avery takes us back there again soon!

There is not a single thing I can say about this book that would do it justice! It’s freaking amazing!!! I would give it 10 ⭐️’s!!

Does the past shape our future? In more ways than one! These amazing, wonderfully written characters were facing some of the same things as we do in life. I understood the grief so deep that it is truly indescribable. Of the words left unsaid with no way to make it right. I understood deception so horrific that it is ingrained for life. Of trusting people over and over only to be let down time and again. But I also understood the love, the type that makes your heart ache in an amazing way. The kind of love that allows you to put your heart on the line for a life worth living.

This book has every emotion and then some!! I laughed and I cried. I was angry and then sad. I watched as Becker and Stella navigated the life they were given. Making their own happiness in the chaos and grief. Learning to trust. Learning to love. Learning that sometimes people they knew as friends became the family that would never let them down.

This book is wonderfully written with amazing characters! The story was heart wrenching yet so amazing! It’s a must read for 2024.

"You’re not alone. I’m not alone. It’ll be an adjustment, but we’ll learn to count on one another—together, because we’re in this together now, Stella. All in."

I absolutely live Avery's book! I have from her very first series. She's a must read for me and she never let's me down. This book was no different. It was beautiful, emotional, and the HEA was incredible!

-Fake dating
‐Uncle Daddy Beck
-Boss/Employee
-Healing after loss
-Found Family

Following Stella's story wasn't easy. It was emotional and heartbreaking. This woman had dealt with so much pain, but handled it with so much grace. She was a beautiful character. I loved watching her bloom with the right type of love! And the relationship she had with the girls was so sweet. The way she recognized that Emmy was trying to hide herself and become small in situations that scared her. The way she loved wild Ruby and cared for her! This woman deserved her HEA! And I'm so glad she got it in such a beautiful way!

Beckkkkk! This guy!! 😍 The couldn't have been a better fit for Stella. Their connection was oozing off the pages from the very beginning! In the beginning he came off as such a hard*ss, but watching this grumpy man fall in love with his neices was hands down on of the best parts of the book! Other than how protective he was over Stella. This man protected his girls! And he did it in such a Papa bear way! Even through everything he was battling! He was so good about not putting his hurt above the girls and Stella's feelings!

"Who told you that?" is the new "Who did this to you?"

“Whoever hurt you, whoever put those shadows in your eyes, is not a man. Tell me you get that.”

This man took every negative word that had ever been spoken to Stella and replaced it!!

“I think you equate need with love, but you’ve taught me something about myself no one else ever could. I need you, yes, but I don’t have to need you to love you. I think I love you just as you are, whether you’re doing the laundry, finding a traitor in my company, or simply gracing me with a smile.”

"As much as I want to carry her everywhere, protect her from the world, something in my gut tells me she needs to be the one to take the steps forward. So I will stand beside her while she forges her path, but she’ll never walk alone again."

The way he loved her 😍😍

Ruby was hands down the best description for raising a second child! 🤣 I felt like I was reliving the early years of my second born!

“How can she go from daredevil to this in the blink of an eye?”

I'm definitely going to miss Stella and Beck! I was so hooked from the second I picked up this book!

"She makes me want those moments that make life worth living."

What's the book about:
Stella works for the Single Dad Hotline, where her only job is to answer calls and help single dads with their problems. The rules are crystal clear: no sharing personal info, and definitely no getting mixed up with callers. But when her big-shot boss, Becker Hayes, rings in needing help with his nieces, Stella throws the rulebook out the window. Why? Well, besides her job, Stella's got her own battles, including a sick mom and a serious case of loneliness.

My thoughts:
This book mixes sweet romance with a dose of real life. Sure, there's lovey-dovey stuff, but it also deals with heavy things like grief, trauma, and mistreatment. The characters, especially Beck's transformation into a doting dad, grow before your eyes. Stella and Beck's bond is adorable, as they support each other and ensure the safety of two precious little ones. The writing style is definitely my cup of tea and I found it an enjoyable read. If you're a fan of Avery Maxwell, this one's definitely worth picking up.

Cute Chaos, Long Journey.

This was a sweet, funny read with a billionaire nanny trope that actually worked for me—mostly because of the kids. They weren’t just in the background; they were the highlight, the cherry on top. The plot really incorporated them in a meaningful way, and that made everything feel warmer and more grounded.

The romance was nice, and while it followed familiar beats for this trope, the overarching plot gave it enough uniqueness to hold my interest. Normally, I’d be bored with something like this, but I wasn’t here.

That said, it dragged. The story could’ve been told with half the words, and I kept checking how much was left. Then the climax hit, and everything tied up quickly, which felt rushed. The epilogue gave a solid wrap-up for both the main and secondary characters, which helped—though I still would’ve preferred the pacing to be better balanced throughout.

Overall, it was a good read, and I’ll get to the next one eventually.

This had potential but something just fell short for me. I'm not exactly sure what it is but I started to skim a lot. I also just couldn't get behind Stella. I get that she was treated like crap by her last boyfriend, but she also let it happen so I had a hard time rooting for her. Not totally sold on why Beck's sister made herself a villain to him. He was a grown adult by this time with a successful company.

DNF like immediately. So bad. The dialog. As soon as the 4 year old says mommy says you'll be a good dad if you trust yourself... I peaced out haha I have kids and 4 year olds don't say that. Especially to a grown man they don't know who's angry and yelling. Sorry. But no.

Get ready to dive into the delightful world of the Single Dad Hotline! "Love Notes and Lifelines" by the amazing Avery Maxwell is the first book in this series! As a fan of hers, I thought I knew what to expect, but this book took me by surprise in the best way possible. Forget what you think you know about billionaire/nanny romances - "Love Notes and Lifelines" flips the script in the best way possible! Get ready for a fresh take on a classic trope that will leave you swooning, tearing up and then smiling from ear to ear!

In a nutshell, Stella and Beck shared a sizzling kiss over a year ago when she briefly worked at his company. Fast forward to now: Stella is juggling two jobs (including working for Beck’s company at a permanent position) to cover her mother's memory care expenses, while Beck, the cool and emotionless billionaire, unexpectedly becomes the guardian of his nieces after his estranged sister's passing. Hold onto your hats because things are about to get wild for this steamy duo! Stella finds herself taking on a third job at the Single Dad Hotline, where she anonymously assists wealthy men struggling with caretaking responsibilities. And guess who one of her first clients turns out to be? None other than Beck himself! Talk about a twist of fate! As Stella lends a helping hand to Beck during his chaotic days with his nieces, their bond grows stronger. But when Beck discovers that Stella is the voice on the other end of the hotline, he's determined to have her by his side as Emmy and Ruby's nanny, no matter what it takes. Emmy's heartbreaking struggles while morning her mother and determination to care for her sister really hit home. Seeing their situation, Beck decides it's best for them to move back to their hometown of Sailport Bay, NC. All the characters in Sailport Bay are amazing - they're funny, caring, and they all have Beck and his "girls'" backs. When the evil Aunt Danica swoops in, like a tornado of trouble, she stirs up chaos and threatens to ruin everything for Beck, Stella, and the girls. Emmy's scared out of her wits of her! With Aunt Danica causing all sorts of mayhem, they'll need their friends in the community and especially their best friend, Elijah, to rally around them and help them weather the storm.

Hang on tight for all the humor, emotions, drama, mystery and healing in "Love Notes and Lifelines" by Avery Maxwell! I’m so excited for the next book in the series, featuring a new hottie, Sebastian!

Thank you Avery Maxwell and Hambright PR for the ebook ARC. All opinions are my own.

Single dad hotline? I'm immediately in! There were so many great moments in this one where Beck was struggling so much with taking care of the kids in funny and relatable ways. I loved that Ruby and Emmy were both such distinct characters!

Stella and Beck both have a difficult history with relationships and I loved watching them learn to lean on each other. I loved that Beck always went out of his way to protect Stella! Fans of a who did this to you moment will not be disappointed! This book did feature a bit more intrigue and mystery than I was expecting. However, I really liked how everything got figured out! I hope Teddy gets his own book!

I think this book is perfect for fans of Lucy Score's Knockemout series! It has the same small town and mystery elements. It also has interesting side characters, and I think Beck comfortably qualifies as a "suit daddy". Can't wait to read more from this series!

🌶️🌶️ - This story has a couple open door scenes but spice is not a major focus.

Thanks to Hambright PR for providing me with this arc! All opinions are my own.

This one was so cute! Stella works multiple jobs in order to help pay for her mother's care in a Memory Care facility. Beck is her boss's boss at one of her jobs. She takes a job with a Single Dad Hotline - all she has to do is answer the phone and help talk single dad through their issues.

Beck becomes an unexpected guardian to his 2 nieces after his sister dies. He uses the hotline and Stella becomes his helper. She knows it's him but tries not to let him know that it's her. Eventually Beck talks Stella into become his nanny. I loved the relationship Stella developed with the girls. She was a natural and loved them like they were her own.

Whew, this one has some drama! Both of these characters have their own problems and their own baggage. Seeing them be there for each other and their relationship go from co-workers to friends to lovers was beautiful to see. It's most definitely a slowww burn.

Oh, and Danica is the worst character I've ever read. She's VILE.

awww this beautiful and sweet story melted my heart, it is soo good, Stella and Beck, Ems and Ruby, Daisie Dog and all the other characters stole my heart. They made me laugh, cry, sigh, I love them so much

Beck and Stella are two lonely characters, who have a painful past and who are brought together by unexpected circumstances. Stella with her love and dedication brings down all the walls that Beck has put up around his heart, I love their growth, and the way they help each other heal.

The story is so sweet and the characters are so adorable, the secondary characters are spectacular, I love how they support and are there to each other unconditionally, they find a family where they least expect it.

This is a great story, full of secrets, conspiracies, friendship, love, pain and passion. I loved it. Super recommended if you are a fan of

Great story. Second chances at making a life if only you can open your heart and trust. Stella was a kind soul whose only fault was wanting to be loved. Beck didn’t know he wanted love until it was forced on him at first. Elijah is an awesome friend who anyone would be lucky to have. Awesome read.
