My timing on the ice might be great, but when I asked Cameron Ellis out almost a year ago, it was weeks after she’d sworn off men for a year. I understand why she did it. Her past choices in men have been...well, awful, and she’s a single mom who wants to show her sons she doesn’t need a man to be happy.
So when I finally get her to agree to go out with me, I’m all in. Then my timing fails me again and I crash and burn on the date, blowing my chances with her.
I’m built for fun. Life taught me that loving people is just a set up for inevitable heartbreak. Problem is, my heart’s not doing so great now that Cam put me in the friend zone.
I have to win her back. She’s everything I never realized I not only want, but need. Showing her I’m not like every man who’s ever let her down will take more than just good timing. It’s going to take everything I’ve got.

If you’re ever looking for the perfect, shorter
Length book and your a fan of sports romance, then I have the perfect author for you to read. She doesn’t mail it in every book, there have been a few I haven’t been impressed with, but overall I’m very happy with Brenda’s writing. Her books leave me feeling good and with a smile in my heart. The vast number are hockey romance and as a fan of the sport, she knows her stuff in this area.

Can is the heroine in this one . She’s a single mother of twin boys and after living with her sisters for years, she’s finally moving into a house she purchased on her own. Besides her sisters for also helping out is Dom, her sisters boyfriend and NHL hockey player. Their story is told in the previous book. Rowan, a teammate of Doms is also helping. He’s been wanting to go out with Cam since he first met her but up until now she’s been refusing. Although she’s attracted to Rowan, she was victim of a stalker and on top of that he ex husband is a deadbeat father. Plus she’s been busy in school and then establishing a career so dating just isn’t on her agenda. She wanted to be man free except for her sons for a year.

The year is up and Rowan is still very much interested in taking her out and she finally agrees. The date is great, her best ever and their chemistry is off the charts. But Cam wants an ironclad guarantee that there will be no one else in his life while they are together and Rowan isn’t ready to make that strong of a commitment so with them both standing firm, they remain just friends.

But feelings don’t just go away, things happen with Cam so that Rowan becomes very protective. - and so on. Both Cam and Rowan make for a great hero/heroiine. We learn things about Rowan that makes him very sympathetic. Even Cams sons are cute and I’m normally not a fan of children in romance. It’s often so hard to get them balanced for me but Brenda does it. I read this book in one day because I was enjoying it so much. And it’s short.

This one gets 5 stars and it just happens to be the book I meet my GoodReads goal with so it’s all good..

5 Star Review The Fall (Colorado Coyotes #6) by Brenda Rothert

The Colorado Coyotes and become one of my favourite hockey series. I enjoy Ms. Rothert’s writing style. Her characters are multi layered and easy to relate tops

Cameron Ellis and her twin boys have not had an easy life. Forced to live with her sister to avoid a stalker, it hasn’t been easy for any of them.

Rowan didn’t mean to but he let her down and now she has put him firmly in the friend zone. The problem is he has realised that she and her boys are it for him.

I loved Rowan, he tried so hard and the relationship he forged with the twins melted my heart.

The story was fast paced, with characters you cannot help but fall for and there is nothing I didn’t enjoy about this book.

Marshmallow fluff

The book was not as well written as previous books. The characters are believable but the story wasn't. The author started " drama avenues" that would have given the book more depth and a believable life like but didn't follow through.
I usually really like Brenda Rothert's books. This book was lacking substance.
" The stalker" was used as a plot device to advance the " romance " in the story as such there should have been a follow through.
Cam's stalker's release from prison was the excuse Rowan used to be around Cam and her children and advance their " romance ". So there should have been a resolution to the stalker. He just disappears. There's not even an "apology letter" sent to Cam before his release from prison. That's so unrealistic and disrespectful to all the people who have been a target of a stalker in real life.
The " romance " portion of the story was paltry. There's no character growth on either side. The wealthy professional athlete provides sex, sends the woman a few flowers, buys her furniture BECAUSE HE's decided to move in and he needs more comfortable furniture. This is not a " grand gesture" This is not romance! It's self centered man child behavior. If that is all it takes for the average reader you're expectations are too low. This was pure marshmallow fluff .

📚Review ~ The Fall Colorado Coyotes #6
🖋Author ~ Brenda Rothert
🖋Features: Colorado Coyotes, hockey, sports romance, single mom, contemporary romance
⭐️Rating: 5/5

The Fall is the next book in the Colorado Coyotes series. If you love sports and hockey romance, you might not want to miss this one!

Rowan: The biggest commitment I’ve ever made in my life is to hockey.

Single mom Cam has survived a violent stalker, has graduated with her paralegal degree, and moved out of her sister’s house with her two young sons. Now, she has a new job and a new house. She’s beyond proud to see the results of her hard work.

Now, can hockey star Rowan convince Cam to give him a chance? To do that, he’ll have to put aside the casual dates and one-night hockey fans to commit only to Cam. Better yet, can Rowan move beyond the pain of his past, to open himself up to a chance at love and a family with Cam?

I love catching up with the Colorado Coyote hockey team and The Fall is a wonderful addition to this fantastic series. Ms Rothert knows what her fans love and she always delivers. This time it’s mum to twins Cameron Ellis and Rowan’s entertaining and at times emotional journey.
Cam has been sworn off men because of a stalker, living with her sister for protection she now feels it’s time to move on. A year ago she put Rowan firmly in the friend zone but could the timing now be right for these friends to move onto lovers……
I fell hard and fast for Rowan and I want Cam as my new bestie. This book has it all, it’s well written, it’s entertaining, the chemistry is hot and the banter is witty but it was the real Rowan built with the twins that took this read to the next level. If you love friends to lovers this is a must read.

Cam has finally gotten her own house for her and her twin boys. Finally! After the nightmare of being stalked last year and then moving in with her sister and her kids into her fiancé’s house, she needs this win. She needs to know she can do it on her own.
Rowan has been waiting for Cam to give him a shot at a relationship. He’s been waiting a year - ever since he first saw her. And when she does agree, he sure knows how to plan a date! He takes her to eat her favorite foods and then to a skating rink. It’s a perfect date till they get back to her house.
Yikes!
I enjoyed these characters! I love Rowan’s relationship with Dom. I felt the characters meshed well and the story unfolded at a good rate. This one can be read on its on own, but I do recommend reading Dom’s (Rowan’s best friend) and Tess’ (Cam’s sister) story first.

Colorado Coyotes, this series never disappoints 😍

Cam Ellis has not had an easy life, married at a young age, left with twin boys to bring up on her own.  Cam has had to work hard to get the life she wants for herself and her boys.  Having to live with her sister as she was stalked, Cam can now finally move into her own home and move on with her life.

Rowan is best friends with Dom who is engaged to Cams sister Tess,  he has been wanting to take Cam out on a date for almost a year, but she has banned herself from dating for a year.  Finally, they go out, but Rowan unbeknown let's her down and ends up in the friends zone.
The chemistry is so strong. Will they be able to stay friends?
This series has been brilliant, I do wish this book was a little longer as I would have loved to have read more on Cam, Rowan, and the boys.
Hopefully, there will be more in this series 😍

Cam and her nine year old boy twins had been living with her sister Tess and her hockey boyfriend as she had a stalker. She was very close to her sister, but wanted to feel she could give her boys what they needed on her own since the stalker had been caught. I loved her twins and the difference in their personalities. Rowan was her sister’s boyfriend best friend and he had been wanting to date Cam. I was happy to see that Cam was cautious who she dated because of her past. The two had an up and down relationship that I was rooting for Rowan. I felt like he was a good guy that had to get through what happened to him when he was younger. It made my heart happy the way he loved the twins. I strongly encourage you to read the book.

Colorado Coyotes #6

Cameron "Cam" Ellis is a single mom to twin nine year old boys. She hasn't had an easy life. She had a stalker so she moved in with her sister and her boyfriend Dom. He was caught and is in prison so she's bought a house and is ready to move on. She's a paralegal and loves her job. After the stalker she decided not to date anyone for a year and when Rowan first asked her on Thanksgiving she almost gave in but stuck to her decision.

Rowan Kelly plays for the Coyotes and is best friends with Dom. He finally gets Cam to go out with him but it doesn't go quite how he expected. Now he thinks he's totally blown his chances when she friend zones him and he finds out she is going on a date with someone else.

Will he get another chance?

The Fall, book six in the Colorado Coyotes series is a wonderful way to end this series. This story has all the feels and a seductive slow burn as Rowan pursues Cam, the single mom of nine year old twins, Sam and Tate. He has had her in his sights and has been biding his time until she is ready to date again after a bad stalker experience. She is very hesitant but knows deep down that Rowan is a good man. The question is will she take the leap and give Rowan a chance after her not so good track record.

DNF @14%. I’ve read Brenda Rothert for years. Her books are short and not very deep with storyline, but this one seemed to have zero storyline. I didn’t enjoy it from the first page and kept waiting for something to happen but it was as if I wrote a book on my day:
Got up, got dressed, ate breakfast, went to the bathroom, booted up my computer, started working, took a break, gave the dogs a treat, created a spreadsheet, stopped to eat lunch, washed the dishes, went back to my desk…….nothing.

I loved being back with the Colorado Coyotes! In The Fall, readers meet Cam. She is a single mother of twins who is trying to start over after an incident with a stalker. Rowan has been trying for a shot at Cam for a year, and when she finally agrees to go on a date with him... WOW!

What a great addition to the series!

This one was cute. Cam and Rowan were good together, I just think that when Cam asked her question on their first date they had different definitions of what she asked, which lead to them having issues. Once they seemed to talk about things, it seemed like they were on the same page. Nice to see how things ended for in a good way for them.

The Fall

A single mom to twins, trying to make a living for her and her boys. Hasn’t had the easiest life experience so far, trying hard to make each day better, and move on. Rowan has expressed his interest in her and her family, yet he has somewhat of a reputation. Trying to figure out if he can be what she needs, and for her boys. Awesome story,.

Cam's self-imposed year of no dating is coming to an end and Rowan can't wait to ask her out. He's liked her from the start and they've become good friends but she still isn't sure what's best for her and her twin boys. Rowan is very adorably patient and persistent to prove he is that guy.

Very cute and sweet.

I enjoyed this story very much. A 4 star sports romance.

Cam gave herself a year without dating. After her last boyfriend who happens to be a stalker, left her traumatized plus she has kids to protect. Rowan is friends with her brother a law who’s relentless in his pursuit but she’s well worth the wait. He’s also an hockey player.

I enjoyed this story very much. My only problem was with Cam, she was hot then cold with Rowan. Beautifully written with a seamless plot. Bottomline this is a must read.

This story is part of a series but can be safely read as a standalone, told in a dual POV with an HEA. I recommend this story.

Cam and Rowen are two broken people that are made whole together. She’s a single mother that hasn’t had any luck in love and has trust issues. And Rowen has commitment issues. Rowen grew up to be able to love her. In a way they fixed each other. I love all of Brenda Rotherts books. But this one as a single mom gave me hope.

No where near as good as the previous books. It felt quite flat. There was so little character or story development.

I found quite a lot of it kind of worrying. The stalker story line was odd as was her date situation with a client and him buying her furniture.

They were likeable enough characters but I was glad when I finished it.

Rowan and Cam had a great story. I loved that he had expressed interest in her a while ago, but she was imposing a dating ban for one year. She definitely deserved a break after everything she’d been through. They had great chemistry, and I liked that he never gave up hope that they could be together. Rowan had his own issues to work through, and Cam still had her ghosts, but they made a great couple. I enjoyed their story.

Cam & Rowan have been circling around each other for just about a year (or, mostly he has lol). She has to think about her boys, he has to get himself out of his old headspace. But the two, or four, of them together just ends up being magic. I love this series!
