From USA Today bestselling author Logan Chance comes a riveting tale about friendship, love, and lies. This scorching romance shatters the boundaries between love and make-believe.

Thanks to podcaster gossip, my firm thinks I’m not a good fit for the high-profile case of my dreams. They want someone in a committed relationship.

Stone Ages, right?

So, I lie and mention I'm dating the charismatic billionaire, Roman Thorne—my brother's best friend and my secret crush.
Dating Roman is totally off limits, but fake dating could be the answer. Finally having a reason to touch the man that stars in my fantasies without ruining our friendship is an added bonus.

But no one’s buying it. We’re opposites, they say. He’s too much of a playboy and I’m too much of a prude.

Challenge accepted.

Once we move in together the passion intensifies. But before long, it’s hard to find the line where reality begins and illusion ends.

Until trouble threatens our fauxmance.

Just how far am I willing to go for a relationship that feels all too real?

Cross My Heart is an amazing read!! Greer and Roman’s story is a Friends to lovers with Fake relationships. My two favorite tropes! I was waiting for their story since the first book, but this was more than I expected. It is heartfelt, romantic and spicy. I love the background story and how protective they are with each other. I especially loved how they aren’t perfect, and have certain issues that makes you feel for them. I really enjoyed reading their story and can’t wait to see what will happen next.

Love these two. He is her brothers best friend and one of her best friends too. She is a confident woman who is being held back at her law firm. They both have issues and it just so happens they can help each other out. Neither of them wants to cross the friend line and ruin something that has been good for a long time but there comes a time when you just can’t fight the chemistry any more. Love their interactions and all the characters around them. Read and enjoy.

Oh Roman...you broke my heart over and over. It was difficult reading about both he and Greer (great name by the way) struggling with their feelings for each other. I loved Greer's bravery and determination to enjoy her time with Roman, no matter how short that time was. My heart sank for her (no spoilers). Great read - really thankful for the author's thoughtful words about anxiety and insight into this possibly debilitating illness.

So sweet. I loved Roman and Greer together. Even back when they were younger, you can feel such a connection between the two.

Roman and Greer have been friends for years. Roman is the BF of Greer’s brother so they have spent a lot of time around each other. Despite being the brother’s BF, Roman always had a special relationship with Greer. He has also harbored a secret, he has liked her just as long. But that secret rings true in both sides, as Greer has liked Roman too. It’s just neither ever brought it up or crossed that line. Now Greer finds herself needing a boyfriend in order to get the next job, yeah no comment, and her first thought is Roman. And of course he agrees. It doesn’t take long to find that connection because even though they are cleaning, it’s a fake relationship neither one of them are faking it.

I loved the time these two spent together. So sweet. Without spoilers..the job that Greer had seemed a little incomplete. I assume this will go into the next book but unsure. Also didn’t love how Roman dealt with the later situation..communication! But this was still a good read overall and I look forward to the next.

I received an ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Beautiful Romance

Greer and Roman have loved one another forever, but Roman and his twin are Greer's brother's best friends as well as hers, and neither wants to risk that friendship. Her need to appear settled has them drawn into a fauxmance which becomes torture for both of them.
I read Say My Name, and needed to follow up on these two, and I am glad I did. Greer is elegant, intelligent and beautiful, but she is also compassionate and loving. Roman is handsome, strong and clever, rich and apparently carefree. They are both also insecure, especially where the other one is concerned.
Loving and steamy, this is an excellent story.

This is my first time reading this author, and I really enjoyed this book! I love a brother's best friend trope, and this book had that! Greer and Roman have had a crush on each other since they were teens. They decide to give in to their feelings as adults when Greer finds herself in need of a fake boyfriend for a case she wants to have. I loved these two's chemistry and support for one another. I really liked how the author handled the topic of anxiety and felt it was very relatable.

I initially picked up this series because of my excitement around the release of Cross My Heart. A brother’s best friend romance written by Logan Chance? I knew it was going to be spicy and everything I love about the brother’s best friend trope, and it didn’t disappoint!

What I liked about the book:
1. The MMC in the book suffered from anxiety and panic attacks induced by that anxiety. As someone who has lived with anxiety her whole life and has in the past had numerous panic attacks because of unchecked anxiety, it was great to have this representation.

Not only did the author represent well how quickly panic attacks can come on and some of the symptoms you can feel both before and during a panic attack, but he also provided a note at the beginning of the book stating:

"Roman’s journey is his own and not a reflection of anyone else’s. We all have to decide what’s best for us and there is no judgement on what it takes to make that happen."

This statement could not be more true!! Everyone copes differently and managing anxiety is not a one-size-fits-all approach. The fact that Chance felt the need to state this openly before the story even started makes me appreciate him.

2. I absolutely ADORED the flashback chapter to when Greer was 14 years old! I love when the brother’s best friend romance has a long backstory dating back to when the MCs were kids/teens as the pining just feels that much more authentic to me. I only wish there were more flashback chapters!

I mean, how is this not swoony as hell?!?!

“I don’t have anybody. Dev’s got you and Ledger. Dad’s got his whiskey. Mom left me to take care of myself.”

He pulls me into him and cradles my head against his chest. It’s warm and safe. “You’ve got me.”

“Promise?”

“Cross my heart, Greer.”

3. I loved how strong Greer was and how her most “domestic sphere” characteristic was given a reasonable backstory.

She was a lawyer who understood both that she didn’t need a man but also that corporate politics of a company ruled by straight, old, white men may dictate she play the game a certain way. Her reaction to the Company, while not something I would want anyone to do, did make sense and was a good move for the story overall. Kind of like strangers who wear masks and chase us through forests at night to ravage us…a walking red flag and a definite “hell no!” in real life, but fun to read about and live vicariously through the characters in the safety of a book.

When it came to the most feminine characteristic about her (her hosting brunch for a bunch of dudes every Sunday like June Cleaver), I absolutely did not love this in book 1. But learning the backstory of her doing this because it reminded her of when her and her mom would go to brunch every Sunday, and she just wanted to carry on the tradition, was a great way to throw me on my ass in surprise and get my nod of approval.

4. Chance promised a scorching romance with this read, and he succeeded! Between the innocent flirting, dirty talk, and many delicious intimate scenes, my Kindle and loins were definitely on fire! Love me a man who can talk like Roman.

5. I loved seeing Paxton Atwood (from Latte Be Desired, and soon to star in his own book Don’t Fall For Your Best Friend) and Marley Dale (from Study Me) in passing in this book. It’s always fun to see authors reference characters from their past works.

6. Finally, I loved that the release date for this book lined up with a significant date in the story! That was a fun little detail.

What I wasn’t a fan of:
1. Similar to book 1, I’m not a huge fan of one of the tropes that came in at the very end, but that’s a me thing.

Thank you to Logan Chance for the opportunity to read this book. The thoughts and opinions expressed above are honest and my own.

This book was next to impossible to put down. Greer and Roman have been friends since childhood, and they've each harbored secret crushes on each other. When Greer blurts out she is dating Roman, the two have to fake it so she can advance her career. Faking it leads to blurred lines and, ultimately, a HEA. When we first met them both in Book 1 of the series, I was hopeful I would not have to wait long to read their story, and I did not. It was also everything I had hoped it would be.

While this book can be read as a standalone, reading Say My Name, the first book in the series, provides a great foundation for this story.

CW: Cross My Heart deals, in depth, with one character's anxiety which, although extremely relatable, may be triggering to some.

I know Roman is my person. My human. The person I can't live without." Aww.🥹💕💕

First, I must begin by expressing how fantastic this book is. It is the second book of the series, but it can be read as a standalone. I think there was enough information to not leave a reader confused if they haven't read the first book yet. To get a bigger scope, then be sure to check out the first one, if you like. I recommend that book too. Okay then. Let's begin. I got so caught up in the words, the characters, the emotions and vulnerabilities, the entire world building of Greer and Roman that I didn't stop reading till I finished it. I had to!! It was a must! The story flowed smoothly. It was funny too. The high kick karate scene. Hilarious! This couple is meant to be. Forever.🫶🏻

Greer Huxley, younger sister of Devereaux from Book One fame, Say My Name, is about to tackle a big case that she feels can change her trajectory as an attorney. She's smart, sweet, sassy, upfront ((except for her feelings for Roman)) and she's ready to represent Bane Delgado. Hopefully, to make partner one day? The woman can handle herself. But her bosses, well they seem to think that gorgeous Greer should be in a committed relationship. Really?! She can't even escape the podcaster tarts from gossiping about her. Get a life, will ya!! Jealous much! lol Being single and dealing with the justice system is a no go, I guess.😂 Long story short, Greer says she does have a man. Roman!! Hawttt best friend extradordinare! A fauxmance it is. Now how to tell Roman and her brother Dev is a whole other issue.🫡

Roman Thorne!! Holy cow. That man. Where do I begin with that man?!🥵🥵 He's wealthy. He's smart. He's always and I mean always, has had feelings for Greer. And when she told him about being a 'fake' boyfriend he nearly rolled over and passed out!! Secret fantasy has arrived!! That's what he's ALWAYS wanted with her. But shhh shhh that's a deep heart secret. Don't tell. Quiet. Quiet.🤫 His twin brother knows. Ledger sees all.😜🤣 Naturally he will say yes. Buttt. When can he kiss her? He really really wants to kiss her. Touch her and 'pretend' she's his.

From the taco and pizza debate, to the hot hot Greedy club moment, to trying to convince the world their madly in love dahling; Greer and Roman are trying to navigate their friendship, their past hurts growing up, to trying to forgive their parents. Greer with her Dad. Roman with his Mom. That hurt to read. I mean, come onnn.😢 While also handling this live wire attraction that keeps zapping when they're around each other.🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥 Super duper fiery. Tons of naughtiness. Dirty. Nah. It's love people. Just scorching, needy, got to have you, love. And also Roman discovering and facing his own well-being with his anxiety and panic attacks. You're going to want to be there for him and love the man. I think Mr Chance did an excellent job expressing the subject matter in a sensitive and respectful manner.

Will these two finally admit what's happening? Have that heart to heart conversation about feelings? And what about the case?? How will it end? Oh and guess what, Chloe has her baby!! Yass! I highly recommend you get this book. Just read it and see for yourself how good it is. That book cover!! Loving it! Happy reading!!❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ I can't wait for the next one.😉

"Our lips meet and he kisses me, taking all of my breath with it." Now that's a kiss!!😘

💋💋Thank you for an early book via Bookfunnel. This is my honest opinion on the story I read. Now go get this book.💋💋

It’s taken me a while to write this review because I’ve had to actually reflect over what I read. To begin, I love Roman and Greer. Fake romance. Logan Chance. That’s all I need to see. Like all of Logan’s books. I was very much in love with it from start to finish. The tension between these two is electric, but that’s to be expected in any book this author writes.

I love how Chance portrays dominance in his male characters. I love how he portrays alpha males correctly. I find it annoying when people criticize males like this in real life and call them toxic, so it’s always refreshing to me reading a Logan Chance book and seeing a male portrayed in such a positive light with a backstory and such well thought out flaws. None of Logan Chance’s characters are these perfect creatures because that would make them completely unrealistic. That’s just not how he writes and I love that about him. Which is why reading Roman and his relationship evolving with Greer was so great for me to read.

And that gets me to the part that has taken me quite a while to articulate. Roman. He’s my favorite character ever written by this author because of just how real he is. I have anxiety and panic disorder. Seeing this portrayed so real and honestly by this author made me cry. Seriously. Bawl. He writes it so honestly. How it comes so quickly. What it’s like to recover. How sometimes, people feel it coming, and other times, they can’t. It’s just there.

Everyone who has this deals with it differently. Chance even made a note at the beginning saying this, in so many words. But the fact that he has used his platform to bring light to this issue has cemented me as a reader for life.

If you haven’t read this book, I highly recommend it. The spice is on point and will have you clenching your thighs. The tension will have you gripping your seat. But mostly, it’s cemented in realness. It’s raw and pulls at your emotions. That’s what makes this book so good and author so great.

Definite 5 stars for me, and I also need to say thank you to the author for bringing mental health to the forefront while also keeping the book engaging and entertaining.

Roman ~ Greer

Roman and Greer have been friends for years but have both also been keeping a secret from each other that they have more than friendship feelings. Greer gets caught up in the moment and blurts that Roman is her boyfriend. As Roman and Greer start their fauxmance, they hope it doesn't complicate what they already have.

I was interested to get to Roman and Greer's story and it was different than I was expecting it to be. Roman and Greer both have some demons which they need to overcome before being able to fully commit to each other. I love how much they both love each other and support each other but were also able to see that they needed to grow individually before committing.

There were a few things that irked me with this book. The lack of communication between Roman and Greer about their feelings, especially since they were supposed to be best friends. Also, the surprise pregnancy annoyed me and seemed like an afterthought.

I am looking forward to continuing the series to see what happens with Ledger and some other side characters.

INSPIRATIONAL FIERY PASSIONATE ROMANCE

Cross My Heart is a fiery, passionate romance with a whirlwind of emotions, unconditional love, quick-witted banter, forgiveness, family drama, and a happy forever.

Roman Thorne billionaire has a great sense of humor, is a lady magnet, but desires one woman; his best friend’s sister since she was a teen. Greer not only possesses classic beauty but also excels as a lawyer. Her dream case is to prove the client is not guilty of extortion. Her bosses think being in a relationship is necessary for her, as a woman, to win the case. She tells her archaic bosses she is in a private relationship with Roman. Elated, he agrees to the fake relationship and date in public. Both have pasts that haunt them. Roman develops anxiety panic attacks and fears, his health is failing. They must overcome challenges before attaining their forever happiness.

An inspirational story, showcasing remarkable character interactions that left me craving more to learn what happened next. Readers gain insight into the characters’ personalities through their backstories. You can feel the realness of the romance through the author’s vibrant descriptions. What impressed me most is the author based his own experiences of anxiety with Roman’s character. He showed courage by sharing his fear with readers. The truth behind this story moved me to tears, as it resonates with the emotional anxiety caused by those who have hurt me since 2019 to date. Hope, the author’s explanation at the end of the book, brings comfort to those experiencing suffering. A friend’s words stung as they belittled my interest in romance books and dismissed male writers as clueless about it; she is no longer a friend. Besides a captivating romance, the author’s work reveals his deep sense of humanity. I will forever cherish this story in my heart. Loved Greer and Roman together as they shine in this read. Received a prerelease copy.

Greer Huxley and Roman Thorne have been friends forever!!! Roman and his twin brother, Ledger, work for Devereaux Huxley - Greer's brother! You really should read Say My Name first to learn about Dev and Chloe story.

Greer had a HUGE crush on Roman when she was a kid! They became best friends and remained friends through high school and beyond.

Greer is an attorney and lies to the partners at her law firm to defend a huge case in the area. Her little lie -- she is in a relationship with Roman. #1 she has to convince him to play the part, #2 she has to keep the relationship quiet from her over protective brother, #3 she has to convince the "mean girls" from high school who have a podcast and mention her by name and wondering if she could handle the defense for Bane Delgado.

We learn more about Greer and Roman's childhoods, which really helps to understand where they are as adults.

I loved their story. My only warning is have tissue ready for Chapter 21.

Here are some of my favorite quotes:

"I’d like to say I’m pretty proud of myself for keeping my s..t together when she came barreling out of the shower."

"Honestly, just getting an excuse to hold Greer’s hand in public has me jumping up and down like an eight-year-old ready to take part."

"After another hour, Greer falls asleep in the chair next to my bed. I watch her sleep. The way her hair frames her face. The way her soft breathing lifts her chest up and down. She’s breathtaking and my eyes fill with unshed tears, thinking I may not live a full life to watch her grow older."

"When I come out of the bathroom in nothing but my gray sweatpants, Greer stares at me." Yum - what is it with guys and gray sweatpants!

"I steer my SUV in the direction of Atta Boy Brewery and park in the lot. When we step inside, I guide us straight to the bar." IYKYK - love the small crossover from "Never Kiss a Stranger""

"“You can open your eyes, Greer,” I whisper against the shell of her ear. “I’m afraid if I do, I’ll wake up from this dream.”"

"For the first time since I’ve known Roman, and I’ve known him a really long time, tears well in his eyes."

Oh boy Logan Chance and his Thorne Twins are surely going to make you pant and swoon. I loved seeing Greer be the girl that crushes for Roman all these years and well the flustered adult woman she gets when she is around him. We all have gone through what she is going through being the brother's sister wanting the guy she can never have because of the bro code. In her heart she knows Roman is the one for her but he has something going on that well makes her want him more. To everybody he is the strong one, the no feelings guy but when it comes to his condition he is scared. He has always been there for her and now she wants to be there for him even if it means she might lose him in the end. The love she has for him is nothing she has felt before and many ways scares her of what will happen once the case is finished. Talk about taking a chance on love Roman is everything Greer needs and seeing this friendship go to a passion neither expected is just wow. Logan Chance has a way of bringing real situations in a book that make you feel a connection to his characters so life like. In many ways you will root for Roman and how he will get pass this condition in a way that will make you clap for him and Greer. Loved it and since he is a twin can't wait for his brother's story. Roman and Greer totally rocked great to see Dev and Chloe again loved it seeing Logan Chance shows us a bit of happiness.

Cross My Heart is the second book in Mr. Chance's God's of Saint Pierce series and it is a brother's best friend, friends to lovers, fake relationship romance that will pull on your heartstrings. Mr. Logan gives us a beautiful, addictive, passionate, and at times heartbreaking romance that you will not be able to put down.
The lines of friendship are crossed between Roman and Greer and true feelings are revealed. Roman is best friends and the business partner with Dev, Greer's older brother. Greer, a lawyer, has been given the opportunity to have the dream job but there is one problem, they want someone that is in a relationship. The first person that pops into her head is Roman, the friend whom she has loved since she was a teenager. He's all for being in a fake relationship with Greer because he has had feelings for her for years as well but has kept them a secret. Time together sees the attraction turn into a five-alarm fire between the two but there is an end date. Will they reveal the true feelings that they both have? They both have a family that has caused heartache for each of them but they can help one another with the feelings and problems that were haunting them. Roman is also dealing with a health issue that he needs to manage on his own to be able to grow into the man that Gree deserves.
Cross My Heart is a beautifully written book with a storyline that easily pulls you in and the characters are relatable and lovable. I highly recommend picking up Greer and Roman's love story and fall in love with their HEA story.

Not so secret crushes

Roman and Greer get their story in Cross My Heart (Gods of Saint Pierce Book 2) by Logan Chance. Introduced in Book 1, Say My Name, these characters have a book all their own and completely independent. I really enjoyed reading Greer's and Roman's journey to admission and acceptance. They truly are happier for it!
In Cross My Heart, prepare to be entertained by Roman. He's got his flaws, but he is also fun-loving and thrilled about his forced proximity to Greer! And the fauxmance tips their interactions from platonic friends to romance with nothing faux about it.
I really enjoyed the push-pull of the deny and divert until those tactics no longer work. The heat turns up and hearts fully and irrevocably engage. Additionally, character depth is explored as both Greer and Roman experience things that make them question their individual current circumstances. Other characters in the book are not nearly the roadblock Roman and Greer expect them to be which paves the way for what they both really want.
And I am also very excited about Ledger's book! Something is brewing and it feels like another suspenseful, danger-fueled book might be on the way!!
Overall, Roman and Greer are all in for the fauxmance that provides the perfect opportunity to explore what could be very real. Scaling and addressing obstacles brings everything fake into real living color and ultimately love.
I read an ARC of this book and voluntarily share my review.

Time to Reflect – Roman & Greer’s Story

Anxiety appears when you least expect it. Whether it’s a first-time dad, a woman doubting her true feelings towards her longtime friend or this friend working at resolving his anxiety attacks before committing to a HEA, each person deals with anxiety differently. This love story is about Roman & Greer, their up’s & down’s, their emotional struggles & their promises to be there for each other. Men are expected to be strong all the time. To experience anxiety, not knowing why or what starts it, does not make a man weak. When Roman realizes what’s happening to him, he seeks professional help & he needs to figure how to regain his mental strength back before he can step forward to face the future with or without Greer. A really good romance story with touches of anxiety & understanding that even though this is a fictional story, this can be applied to real life situations.

This is the type of story where the reader learns we are all vulnerable & those people who do suffer with anxiety, whether it’s treatable by self-help or requiring professional help, there are friends & family members who are willing to help you with your healing journey. On the flip-side, this is a hot, long-time romance from being friends, faking a relationship evolving into a HEA.

I volunteered to read this ARC & leave an honest review.

Cross my Heart is book 2 in the Gods of Saint Pierce series. It's an OTT, friends-to-lovers, fake romance, girl gets her brother's best friend romance. Greer is a smart and sassy lawyer and the younger sister of Devereaux from book 1. Roman is a hunky billionaire and her brother's best friend. Roman has been in love with Greer for some time. Greer had a crush on Roman growing up. Greer works at a completely sexist and misogynistic law firm. The partners won't take her seriously unless she conforms to traditional female values and is in a relationship (gag me 🤢). She asks Roman to be in a fake relationship, and he agrees, hoping for it to turn real. I absolutely loved this book. Their friendship pulled at the heart strings. Both were afraid to lose the other, and the flashbacks were great. I think Roman is my favorite male character that Logan has written, although I am now dying for Ledger's story! The way his anxiety was portrayed is spot on and really spoke to me. And the chemistry between these two was pure fire!! Holy hotness and panty incinerating! These two could burn down a small village. We do have some angst, and I love that we see old friends, but we get a very happy ending for our couple. I am dying for Ledger's book next!!!

I received a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Although this is a little high on the spice chart for steamy romances, there is a surprisingly good story surrounding the heat between the MC’s. Roman Thorne and Greer Huxley have always had a crush on each other, especially since the death of Greer’s mother. Her father was too caught up in his grief to even notice his 14 y/o daughter, but Roman said he would always be there for her. He and his twin brother Ledger were best friends with her brother Devereaux, so they were all like family.
Years later when she was a successful defense attorney and he, a successful businessman, the firm she worked for wanted her to be in a traditional relationship…so she asked Roman to be her fake boyfriend. He jumped at the chance, but his underlying anxiety kept him from revealing his true feelings. He needed to find the cause of his panic attacks, because they made him feel unworthy of Greer.
The author does a great job of using this story to talk about people who experience anxiety and the help available to them. Read how both their parents have contributed to their feelings of mistrust and unworthiness. And how they eventually reveal these feelings and much more to each other. Readers will be rooting for them all throughout the novel.

Greer has had a crush on Roman, her older brother’s best friend, since she was young. And Roman has looked after Greer, although I don’t think she realized it. Jump forward to current time. She is an attorney at a large firm and wants a high-profile case, but the firm doesn’t want to give it to a young, single woman. She asks her friend Roman to be her faux boyfriend, not realizing he loves her but feels she is too good for him. As they get closer, each secretly acknowledging the love they have for the other but not willing to risk the life long friendship, Roman starts having anxiety attacks.

My heart bled for Roman, he had a mother who always put him down and told him he wasn’t good enough for Greer, and pressures built up until he ended up in the ER from a full-blown anxiety attack. After a complete physical with no heart problems or other health problems, he starts to see a psychiatrist who explains his anxiety attacks. In the meantime, Greer is also having doubts about defending a man she really thinks is dangerous and guilty. I wish there had been more about her job and the case she was working on. Loved how Roman planned a date to visit their small home town and found the bookstore and the brewery.

This is one of my favorite books by Logan Chance, it delved so deeply into family traumas, mental illness, and a love that was finally brought to life for a HEA. Thank you for the ARC, this is my honest opinion.

Cross My Heart is one of Logan Chance’s best works. This is a brother’s best friend, friends to lovers romance that grabs your heart from the very first chapter and doesn’t let go.
Greer Huxley is a smart, ambitious, and beautiful defense attorney who wants the biggest high profile case in town. But is she willing to sacrifice her morals for this case? She only has eyes for the only man who is off limits, her brother’s best friend Roman Thorne. Having abandonment issues, Greer battles the internal conflict of moving forward with a relationship and ruin her friendship with Roman.
J Roman Thorne is intelligent, gorgeous, and rich. Throughout his life, he has always wanted a relationship with Greer but never perched it due to his own insecurities.
A common theme throughout the book is Roman’s battle with anxiety. Logan has written Roman’s story in such a poignant way that you can feel his struggles as he learns to live with and overcome it.
I could not get enough of this book. From the storyline to the characters, Cross My Heart has everything you need in a romance novel. Even though this is a standalone, I highly recommend reading Say My Name, the first book in the Gods of Saint Pierce Series because we first get introduced to both Greer and Roman in Devereaux and Chloe’s story. I’m so looking forward to more in this series.

When Greer was fourteen, she lost her mother to suicide (that's she thought in the beginning) and Roman was there to comfort her when her father couldn't. Ever since then, she was in love with him and he was known as playboy and couldn't risk their friendship.
Greer had an opportunity to work on a high profile case if she was in a stable relationship so she blurts out Romans name and their fake relationship starts. They are best friends and it couldn't complicate thing except feelings gets involved.
Roman always loved Greer but he couldn't tell her. When she suggest fake relationship, he is more than happy to oblige. He is willing to woo her even if it's fake. When Roman starts having panic attacks, he feels he isn't good enough for Greer.
Fake relationship can last so long and when the time came they will have to decide.
This book was easy to read and it didn't take long to finish. I did like this book described panic attack in a different light and how Roman copes with it. I didn't read the first book and wondered what really happen to Greer's mother since it's not really described. I guess that would be good reason to read the first one.
This is first book I read from this author and I am looking forward to his other books.

I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Logan Chance does not disappoint with Cross my Heart. Book 2 in the Gods of Saint Pierce series. Roman and Greer have known each other all their lives. He has been infatuated with Greer since she was a teenager and as she grew into a woman his feelings for her grew also, but he knew being her best friend was all he could be. Not wanting to ruin their friendship Greer also kept her growing feelings of Roman to herself, not wanting to ruin what they had together. He was the playboy and she was the nerd! She knew he would never want her "that" way!
Greer has to fake a relationship so she could get the case of a life time, being an up and coming lawyer in a firm that held her back. The obvious choice was Roman, her best friend! Someone she has fantasized about being with and wanting to touch without causing any rifts within their friendship. YES! a win win for them both, until fake and reality become blurred.
What a ride, Loved how the intense feelings developed until they both could not hold back and the passion finally ignites the pages.
You want a hot passion steamy read then this is for you! Also a great backstory that also holds your interest. Another great 5 star read by Logan with an unexpected beautiful HEA

Book 2 in the Gods of Saint Pierce and it was so good. Loved Greer and Roman. Their relationship was a long time coming. They have loved each other for many years even though they never acted on it. Having to create a relationship so Greer could get a job helped move their relationship to the right place. Loved watching them navigate the fauxmance into a real romance that they both were looking for. There were some issues that they had to deal with such as a lost childhood with the death of a parent and the rejection of sorts from the other and with Roman, the issues he was having with his parents. It is funny how as you get older, you can see the other side and finally talk with the people who hurt you and try to work through things. I also loved the fact that Roman had anxiety and it was talked about and not brushed under the rug. As a person who suffers from mild anxiety, I understood everything that Roman was going through. Anxiety is no joke, and it can hit you out of the blue and knock you on your butt. Such a great story and I am ready for Ledger’s story.

In my normal way of things, I have read book two before book one. I can only imagine that book one was just as amazing. Greer and Roma have been avoiding their relationship for a while now, and even though they have loved each other for many years they never acted on it. She is his friend’s sister, and sisters are off limits even when fake dating. Then in an effort to create their relationship so that Greer could get a job helped move their relationship to the right place.

I really loved watching them navigate the through their fake romance and for a real one that the both of them were looking all this time. Like all relationships there were some issues that they had to overcome, such as a lost childhood with the death of a parent.

Sometimes success comes with expectations, and event though they are sometimes old fashion, it ends up being exactly what you need. But not everyone is convinced of their relationship, and they have to step up their game and go outside of their comfort zone.

Cross My Heart was a great read and a wonderful follow up story to Say My Name. The only reason I took half a star off was because I guess I was expecting it to be more suspenseful after reading the previous book.

Greer and Roman were electric from the start. In fact, they were captivating from the very first book and I couldn’t wait to get my hands on the second after seeing their interactions in Say My Name. I wasn’t disappointed in the story because they drew me in and kept me hanging on with how their relationship developed. It may have started out “fake” but it was alway real. They had feelings that were never shared with each other for years. And now they had to face all of that and make it work out together.

Overall, this was a fantastic read and a great continuation of the series. There are already hints in this book of what is to come in the next.

I absolutely LOVED this story! Greer and Roman's story is at first glance you may think you have read the brother's best friend romance, but this is OH SO MUCH MORE! When you read a Logan Chance book, you become immersed in the story and feel like you know the characters as well as their family and friends. There are layers to this book that you need to read to experience and you also get a glimpse at Greer's brother from the first book in the series, Say My Name. Then woven expertly throughout the main story of Greer and Roman's romance is a mental health issue that Roman has to deal with that is handled with such expertise that you can absolutely relate if you are dealing with the same. All of this combined is what makes this book such a great read! So far the two books in this series should be on your TBR list and read as soon as possible! Looking forward to Ledger's story next.
