Alan’s decades of service in various missionary contexts paired with his robust biblical exegesis and pastoral reflections of 2 Corinthians make this a trustworthy guide for anyone preparing for some form of apostolic ministry (whether that be international missions, church planting, or college ministry). I’d recommend this to any missionary veterans as well who find themselves discouraged, tired, and wondering if it’s worth it. In these pages lie encouragement, conviction, comfort, and vision.

Great book for anyone considering or who does ministry- also great for anyone experiencing burnout in their role they have felt called to by God
