Parker Welch had it all—money, glamour, and a life most people could only dream of. But she threw it all away for love, or at least what she thought was love. She ended up broke, stuck in a toxic relationship with a man who saw her as nothing more than a trophy to parade around, never once valuing her or the life they could've built together. Little did he know, the winds of change were blowing, and another man was about to step into the picture, ready to rewrite Parker's story.
Napoleon "Napo" St. James was a man who knew what he wanted and how to get it. A self-made mogul with roots tangled in the darker sides of life, he never let love complicate his plans. Relationships were just transactions until Parker Welch walked into his life, turning everything he thought he knew on its head. For the first time, Napo saw a future that involved more than just the next deal—he saw a chance at true love.
The spark between Parker and Napo was undeniable. They plunged headfirst into a romance filled with intensity and passion, a whirlwind that promised to shield them from the chaos of their pasts. But secrets have a way of surfacing, and both Parker and Napo had plenty. With ex-lovers lurking in the shadows and their own doubts creeping in, their love faced trial after trial. The question wasn't just whether their feelings for each other were strong enough to survive, but whether they could stand united against the forces conspiring to pull them apart.
In a story that's as much about finding love as it is about finding oneself, Parker and Napo's journey is a testament to the power of love to change, heal, and challenge us in the most unexpected ways. Can they weather the storm and come out stronger, or will the ghosts of their pasts be the end of a love that seemed destined to rewrite their futures? If you’re a fan of African American Romance, second chance love. Rude rich Alpha men, then this book is for you.
There's nothing like a woman scorned! Israel lived in the land of delusion! As much as Napo told her they were only friends, she continued to hold on. He too should be held accountable though because he was saying one thing, but doing the next! He knew she needed help after her first attempt to unalive herself, but he played her close. Building that relationship with Parker was what they both needed but surrounded by all kind of drama. Vegas has to be the most stupid person ever! He had his good thing and messed that up by being for the streets! Jasmine, I could only feel sad for her. That energy she took to run behind Vegas old tail, she could have easily put that into her and her kids! Quin was a true rider; a rare breed. Parker was lucky to have a friend like her! Icon wishy washy to me. Yh, he call himself keeping Kim close and checking Israel, but he NEVER told these things to Napo! My question is why?! He looking real suspect right about now! Israel done snitched and sadly all the things she has done, she isn't going to be held accountable for since she has a history of mental illness! I pray Parker and the twins are ok but I could feel the beast in Napo about to show its face.
Now Israel was indeed mentally challenged and after all the help that Halo tried to provide for her she still wanted more, more than what he ever offered her since they became friends; they should never have crossed that line but he told her what it was and she said she understood but still pursued him, Halo never lied to her but for some people reality is just a hard pill to swallow. As for Vegas I think if he would have just opened up to Parker they could have gotten him the help he needed and maybe things would have worked out differently. Nayo needs to pay close attention to his right hand Icon because he wanted to wear the crown there's no telling what he would do. After that call from Icon, Israel really went off the deep end I pray the twins and Parker will be ok.
Parker has been through a lot of struggles dealing with her deadbeat baby daddy Vegas. During her relationship she meets Napo who she has an instant connection with but they both have baggage they need to get rid of before pursuing each other. Napo has been having a friends with benefits relationship with Israel and she is delusional to the fact that he has made it very clear that is all they will ever be. Vegas was mistreated Parker during their relationship and now he is making life for her miserable because she has moved on. Now that ending left me in a chokehold because I’m not sure what Israel’s crazy a$& has done but I hope that Parker and the twins are okay because if not they are about to bring the beast out of Napo in part 2.
I'm sorry I didn't give 5 stars but it was just too slow . I'm not downing your craft because you are a great author I just expected more. Although it was slow I didn't stop because I always finish what I start. As far as the characters Parker worked my nerves never standing up to Vegas and then run up on Isareal knowing she wasn't about them hands. Napo just couldn't let go of Isareal now look she has went to snitch on him after all has done. She's delusional and has probably hurt Parker and or the twins. I'm going to read part 2 whenever it comes out because I want to see Isareal and Vegas get what they deserve.
I was starting to give up on this book until I continue to read and it was getting good...I love the message you touch on with mental health and the character that was dealing with it... Israel is a woman scorn..but also she dealing with mental illness..napo is bae..even tho he was pissing me off at times ..Vegas he a sad excuse for a man.....Jasmine really thought she was getting a real man..now look how the tables turn.. I like Parker our of all ..I can relate to her and that bd situation. Lol
The relationship between Vegas and Parker was not ideal, as Vegas mistreated Parker. Despite their issues, I adored Parker and Napo's bond. They shared a strong connection. Mental illness is real. Israel behavior was concerning that showed her being a scorn woman. I hope Parker and the twins are okay. I find Israel and Vegas the most annoying. Both Vegas and Israel's actions were disturbing, with mental illness playing a significant role. Jasmine thought she ate by getting with Vegas but he wasn't nothing but a scrub. I need part 2!
I kinda blame Napo. Instead of him putting his foot down when it came to Israel it's like he kept giving her passes. When he ended their situationship he should have cut ties completely knowing how unstable she was. Now Parker and her kids could possibly be hurt. I'm kind of side eyeing Icon cause is he as down for Napo as he says? Time will tell. Jasmine wanted Vegas so bad thinking she was taking someone's treat and got tricked. At this point if Parker is ok imma need her to focus on her and her kids, fk everyone else.💛💛
Jasmine thought she was getting a good men but Vegas was a bum and a deadbeat dad .i didn't like the way Vegas treated Parker.parker and Napo had baggage but I love the connection they had.israel was getting on my last nerves with her delusional self.I hope Parker and the twins are okay. I can't to read part two.
First of all, the book did not flow. It was like the author was just stating facts, not creating a narrative. Then on top of that the characters were wack. Especially Parker. She had nothing going for herself, nothing to be admired. She was weak. I’m not even interested in reading part 2 of this series.
Okay I knew Israel was going to be a problem because she was mental. Between her and Vegas I don’t know who is worse. Shes crazy and he’s lazy. Napo expressed how he felt about Israel and she still doesn’t get it at all. Vegas only wasn’t Parker to use her because he’s a leech. I’m glad her and the twins got away from him. I hope she and the twins are okay. I’m excited to read part 2.

Sweet baby Jesus… I knew that girl wasn’t right. Between Vegas and Israel, I don’t know who irritates me the most. Napo will more than likely regret not doing something about her sooner and Vegas should have been taken care of as well. Now I’m on pins and needles waiting for part 2.

Good book enjoyed the read Parker needs to learn how to stand up to Vegas he is no good for her I hope one day she really see that her parents were right she should just go be with napo or something I can't wait to see what part two is about
Whew this book was so good I can’t believe Israel crazy ass need to be sent to a mental hospital. And not the same one she was at before because clearly they’re not helping her there. I hope Parker and the twins are okay .
I’m so lost are we going to get another banger but all the twist and turns kept me turning pages to see what was going to happen next cause Vegas and Israel were both cra cra and couldn’t let go
This is crazy!!! Isreal is crazy crazy!!! I hope Parker and the twins are ok. Napo, might want to check Icon, cause he ain't as loyal as you think. Latoya I need some answers suga.
This drama filled book is so good, but also so crazy. The characters meet when they both are going through things and the following story of their lives has it's ups and downs. This author definitely delivers a well written story that I am loving reading.
I really hope Parker and her kids are good. Israel is crazy icon should have been told Halo what was going on. I understand she was hurt but she should have taken it out on Napo. Parker was sweet she was trying to make it. Icon act like a friend but really isnt. Lets see if he tell bout, Kim or Israel.
This girl was really a nut case and Napo was leading her on, he knew how she felt about him. He is the reason she did what ever she did, I hope she didn't hurt the twins.
This was definitely a good read I like nap and Parker together but they both need to get a handle on there ex that don’t make no sense and I can’t wait for book 2
