Single Mom runaway
Single Mom's SEALs by Kai Lesy one big struggle from beginning to end.
I loved the premise of this reverse harem; from the former SEALs, second chance, close proximity, workplace romance, secret baby, as well as surprise pregnancy. I was a little less thrilled with the FLC, Amaya. I loved her when she was with her son Mikey and her best friend and especially with the three hottie SEALs! All together or one-on-one. However, give this character a just a second to herself, she finds multiple ways to self-sabotage! Yikes!
What held it all together for me was Kace, Finn and Elias. They almost never wavered. The one time they do waver, is the one time they absolutely shouldn't! The sources of antagonism were hardly trustworthy. Thank goodness for other supporting characters in this book to get some people straightened out.
I loved the connection of Amaya and Kace to establish at bit of history. I also really enjoyed the sense of family/brotherhood Kace, Finn and Elias have established over the years and maintain as business partners, friends, and brothers. These guys are solid in their business, personal stance, wants and love. The setting is pretty great too. Not only providing Amaya with some a needed sense of safety, but also for her job, keeping her in close proximity with Kace, Finn and Elias.
Overall, I enjoyed the book a great deal, however, I found Amaya's continuous flight, avoidance and stubbornness a bit annoying. In some ways, all that antagonism make the resolution, reconnection and reunion all the sweeter for this reverse harem's HEA.
