Sutton is a Christian saved by grace, who loves Jesus and tries to live for Him. The beauty of God's creation captivates her, especially anything having to do with water. She enjoys a simple and quiet life in the United States.

I have said it before. Every subsequent book in the series is better than the one before. Overall, this is one excellent series! Benji, remember that name! No, this is not a spoiler. By the time you hear the name, you will understand why he is at the key of everything. He is the driving force. Again, this is not a spoiler alert. Betrayal, suspense, and much more. This is what you will find in this book of the series. Also, this is not a standalone book. If you read this book without reading the previous books in a series, Malachi will not make sense to you. The shadows are getting stronger. The shadows are getting closer. Everything intensifies in this book! Also, there is some thing that happens in this book that will have Christians rejoicing. Even with fictional characters, you will rejoice! This is a series that could easily be part of a seminary program. Also, any Christian marriage counselor could use books in this series to help couples. That is just a side benefit to one of the best, entertaining series you will read!

This series never fails to have me sitting on the edge of my seat! (Figuratively speaking since I listen in bed at night!) The characters are wonderful, the story exciting and suspenseful. I like the way spiritual insights, Christian principles and God's word are woven into the story without sounding like a sermon. Skillfully written to keep the listener/reader in suspense throughout the whole book. Cannot wait for Book 6 to be done as an audio book. Also I will be looking for more books by this author.

Narration was wonderful. Each character's voice was easy to identify which helped to keep up with the fast moving parts of the book. Kudos to Brittany Goodwin!

Impeccable story and narration – the series intensify with every book.
Familiar characters that I fell in love with and a storyline that never slows down! A whirlwind adventure from the first chapter to the end that will take you on an emotional roller coaster. I can’t wait for the next book in the series!!!

Somehow I managed to skip book 4
( which I will read now that I have finished #5 in the series.)

Anyway, these are mystery thrillers with Bible quotes, Christian themes, principals, prayers etc.
Each main chapter is given a special gift by the Lord in each new book in the series.
it is well written, clean, etc.
Also, a rather mysterious character Malachi turns up in each book.
I guess he is a real person, who is super attuned to God,
but he sometimes seems almost like an angel.

I really enjoyed this book. It is the 5th in her Shadows series. You do need to read the others first. I love how her books are always clean, have a clear gospel message, and suspenseful. She never ceases to amaze me at how she has her finger on the pulse of what's going on in the world, even if it's just my own little world.

I actually got chills when Jade used her "gift"!

I love the character Jade. She is tiny in stature which makes it all the more thrilling to imagine God use his power through someone so devoid of physical strength. David was tiny but look what God did through him?!

I have been enjoying the storyline in this series for the character, Dalton. This book has some particularly interesting developments for this character.
