Eloisa Waters is creating a new life for herself. After travelling for twelve months, she comes home at Christmas, purchasing a small country cottage in a sleepy English village, despite the fact its previous owner was a recluse, the original owner was supposedly a witch, and it’s now rumored to be haunted!
On the first night in her new home, sensual erotic dreams surprise and delight her. Only these aren’t dreams. The rumors are true. Two handsome Regency ghosts inhabit the cottage, becoming corporeal at night, trapped by a curse, compelled to satisfy every desire of the new owner.
Elly begins to fall in love with Anton and Phillipe, her charming ghostly lovers. But is there more? Can the curse be broken? Or does Elly risk her own soul. As Christmas approaches, and memories surface, how will Elly choose? How can she possibly leave behind the Ghosts of Grace Cottage?
I was born in England. My parents loved to travel as my dad spent many years in the navy. By the time I reached the age of 12 we had traveled pretty much around the world on cruise ships. This sounds fun and exciting unless like me you can get sea sick sitting in a bathtub. Lets just say boats do not feature highly in my books. I still love to travel, but I use planes. All of my life I have written stories in my head. I would rewrite and add characters to TV shows, edit and change novels I was reading, invent scenarios and scenes to amuse myself on long journeys. But strangely I never wrote any of them down. About three years ago I woke up with a scene so clear in my head I knew I had to put it down on paper. Now, what should I do with this one page of prose? I know, I will email it to some friends. The friends approved, in fact they asked what book it was from. I shyly admitted it was my own work and the reaction was immediate...please write the next bit! I did and I have not stopped writing since.
I have to give 5 stars. It’s sexy, funny, cute and very tender, all in perfect balance. And it made me cry. If you’re in the mood for a steamy, contemporary ghost story that’s slightly self-aware and adorably absurd in parts, I highly recommend this short and sweet book 💖
When Eloisa (Elly) Waters bought the beautiful, rundown cottage, she had no idea her new neighbours were so close. Close enough, in fact, to hear their conversations, which really was too much after a long, exhausting day moving into her new home. After a brief exchange of words, Elly assures them she’ll meet them properly in the morning, and ‘yes,’ she manages before sleep claims her, ‘I can speak French.’ Said sleep is not without dreams, however, and Elly can’t recall the last time her dreams were this hot, passionate and intent on convincing her they’re real. And with good reason.
Cursed by a witch centuries before for seducing her daughter, the ghosts of Anton and Phillipe, who can only appear solid during the night, are now confined to the cottage. They can’t move on and find eternal rest. As with the previous owner, the curse compels the gentlemen to meet Elly’s every desire and fantasy.
Satisfied by her lovers every night, and falling more in love with them every day, Elly searches for a way to release them from their curse only to discover their freedom comes at a steep price. One she’s not sure she can afford to pay.
This is a beautiful and decadent story that’s sure to raise one’s temperature and prompt much hand waving in front of one’s face to cool flushed cheeks. It’s also a gorgeous romantic tale of a love worth fighting for told with Ms Wren’s brilliant, cheeky humour. And dare I say guarantees a multitude of devilish grins.
Ms Wren is a magician with words, and has woven a sexy tale of love, loyalty and romance. A delightful, easy read to take you away from your world for a while, into a warm, cozy cottage filled with hope, and two sexy ghosts.💋
I had read book 1 of a series, Diplomats Daughter, by this author and enjoyed it. I have not been able to find any more of the Protectors series books so I thought I’d try this book. It was a short book and had a lot of sex in it. I wasn’t expecting a threesome with two Regency ghosts!
Ms. Wren has crafted a quick read to add a bit of spice to your holiday with the tale of two ghosts devoted to the woman experiencing her first Christmas alone since the death of her parents. With the perfect balance of sensual interludes and heartwarming moments it's easy to become immersed in this story rooting for its unconventional HEA.
Eloisa is alone for Christmas this year and starting over by moving into an old home. She's not alone for long though as two sexy spirits start visiting her every night. They're devoted to her from the moment they see her, as they have been to every lonely female who's lived there before as they're cursed to do. All the females who've come before have left them though, but this time they've found the one woman more devoted to their happiness than to her own. Eloisa is a strong-willed woman who's handling the loss of her parents with bravery. She's quick to believe what Anton and Phillipe are and their predicament. Though they're devoted to every one of her sensual delights she takes the time to make them happy too by making them fully a part of her life and the contemporary world. Eloisa's immensely kindhearted too which ultimately makes for a satisfying romance and believable yet quickly wrapped-up ending.
Anton and Phillipe are sexy and charming. They've been trapped in this old home since the Regency period. Some years have left them unable to be heard or seen and other times have them left behind. Their fear of loneliness is palpable and had me sympathetic towards them. The limits to their ghostly state is cleverly concocted to make a satisfying relationship believable and yet adds to their frustration of having to rely on the feelings of another for their happiness. These two men are larger than life, colorful in their speech and actions, and it makes them easy to fall for.
This was a short story that was immensely satisfying. It was a sexy yet heartwarming tale to help ring in the holiday and totally succeeds on that level. The characters are likable with a romance that's deeply emotional and crackles with electricity. Ms. Wren has written a memorable holiday tale that I recommend for those needing a break from the hustle and bustle!
Short but sweet and oh so sexy story of a curse and two guys ( who happen to be ghost) and one girl and lots and lots of hot steamy sex.
Elly lost her parents a year go just after Christmas. She spent some time traveling and has finally made it back home and is ready to buy a house and settles down. She finds an amazing old cottage that needs some TLC, she feels a strong connection to the house she must have it. On her first night in the house, she has the must amazing hot dream with two men. Then the next she has another wonderful dream again, but when she woke this time notices a white rose in her bed.... So was she dreaming or did her dreams come true!
I enjoyed this book, it was a great paranormal love story with a some very hot scenes. The characters were well developed for a short story, sometimes when you read a short story you lose some details here and then, the author did a wonderful job keeping it all together. What really upset me was the end or lack of one. I feel that I've been cheated out of an ending. I have so many unanswered questions, this upsets me when i read book and nothing that there is no 2nd book coming out to continue the story. I think we all could use a little Philippe and Anton in our lives!
This book is quite entertaining. The premise of having ghostly lovers is intriguing and a little humorous. The curse that was placed on the men has them trapped in the house, only becoming corporeal during the moonlight hours. They bring pleasure to the house's owners if they desire such things. The story was interesting. The dreams were hot and sexy, as were the men of the "dreams." If you are looking for something quick that will wet your panties, yet have a story with heart and love, this will provide what you seek. I do wish the story had a slightly better resolution and more detail, but it was a satisfying as it is.
I really enjoyed this unique story. Fell in love with the H/h/H. They were delightful and so funny.. When I received this book from Secret Cravings E-book club I wasn't sure about it, but I am so glad I decided to read it. I am very impressed with the quality of the books I get each month, well worth the price.
A lovely story, written with a good pinch of humour, and peppered with plenty of great dialogue. That said, the pathos brought me to the point of tears during the heroine's climactic decision - something to which I am not normally prone. A definite sign of good writing. My one grumble is that the author closed the bedroom door (or began a new chapter) too frequently on the steamy encounters!
Eloise is in for the surprise of her life when she is compelled to buy a rundown cottage! Her nightly ghost visitors bring her pleasure beyond her wildest dreams, any girls dreams really! A dilemma she must face as Christmas approaches! Another great read Carolyn !
