💥 இந்த புத்தகம் இரு வேறு தளங்களில் பயணிக்கிறது. ஒரு புறம் நாகேந்திர நல்லூர் என்னும் கிராமம். மறு புறம் இயற்கை எழில் கொஞ்சும் ஏற்காடு.

💥 நாகேந்திர நல்லூரில் உள்ள சிவன் கோயிலில், கிரகணத்தின் போது பாம்பு லிங்கத்திற்கு அர்ச்சனை செய்கிறது. இதை காண்பதற்காக அசோகமித்திரன் அந்த ஊருக்கு வந்தார். அங்கே அவருக்கு என்ன நடந்தது என்பது ஒரு கதை.


💥 சேலத்தில் மிகவும் வசதியான குடும்பம் கணேசனின் குடும்பம். ரத்தி என்னும் வட இந்திய பெண்ணை காதலித்து திருமணம் செய்து கொண்டான். அந்தஸ்து, கௌரவம் என்று கணேசனின் குடும்பம் ரத்தியை ஏற்றுக் கொள்ளவில்லை. அவளை கொலை செய்ய கூட திட்டம் மேற்கொள்ளப்பட்டது . அவர்களின் குடும்பத்திற்கு இறுதியாக என்ன ஆனது என்பதே அரண்மனை குடும்பம்.

The master of the supernatural aka "amaanushyam" [in Tamil] does it again ! ! !

All the key elements he generally adds in his novels are there - an upper middle class / rich household, humans who understand & blend with the "supernatural", a gang of antagonists etc.,. He understand well how to enact his screenplay to keep each chapter thrilling and filled with suspenses; you just can't put the book down! I loved how evil the entire aranmanai family is - their thought processes are so coherent as a group and they have no remorse. It is excellent screen writing to see how it also becomes contagious in the family that each one picks up evil thoughts from the other and keeps getting better at it - Ex: Kulasekaran's wife Sundaravalli starts off as very naive and becomes an idea powerhouse towards the last few chapters.

To me the only let down factor was the climax when Ganesan acts as "know-all" and it was a risky plot if Rathi was indeed pushed into the well. I was expecting that his mental faculties were genuinely impacted by the medication and a divine intervention will set it right. The other aspect was the parallel thread with the Ashokamithran and Ganapaadigal - may be it's me but I couldn't get the "story line" connect between the two stories.

Overall, a good read !
