The bestselling clash between the DCU and the Monsterverse continues as a mysterious beacon is activated and is drawing Godzilla and his titan brethren toward it…but who—or what—controls the beacon? What secret has Lex Luthor kept under wraps that could change the dynamic of the entire battle?!
Hell yeah! Heres the ridiculous non stop action I’ve been looking for! It’s absolutely ridiculous at times and makes me laugh, but that’s very much on par for the monsterverse itself. So heres the current situation as we pick up this issue, Godzilla is trapped on the ocean floor and Atlantis is almost rebuilt. Grodd and supergirl are missing. Superman is recovering. And there are still 3 monsters heading towards a signal on metropolis. That signal happens to be Luthor and his mecha Godzilla reconstruction, pulling all the monsters together so he may rule them. But our heroes are ready and have their own toys to work against the legion of doom. It still bothers me that we are working with such a small Justice league roster, but speaking of the even bigger legion of doom: they are all heading towards Lex in metropolis even without the fail safe of the dream stone to wish the monsters away once they are done killing everyone. Oh, and Lois wakes up after everyone leaves to find Clark gone!
Alrighty! Now that the board is set, it’s time to play! At the moment it looks like Lex plan is working, the 3 others monsters converge on metropolis and metaphorical bend the knee to mecha Godzilla and Lex. But the Justice league has their own fast tracked giant Batman mech suit to help combat it! I have to admit, this is pretty cool in the most wild way possible. Of course the green lanterns are also able to form together into a giant mech suit using their powers. And the two other remaining monsters are just left for Wonder Woman/Donna and Aquaman/Hawkgirl to punch, lol. But the part that really makes me laugh out loud is when red hood and Damian go after the legion of doom with the batwing…only for it to get an “upgrade” and then into a small mech suit itself. Hahahahaha!
But suddenly the tides of the battle shift when supergirl comes out of nowhere and punches out Donna! Suddenly the heroes look over to find Grodd mind controlling her with a Kryptonian helmet, with Kong following closely behind aiding the legion of doom in battle. Kong quickly goes after the green lantern mech and rips the arm Guy is hosting. With Guy on the ground, Grodd takes his chance and bashes his face into the ground…killing Guy!! WHAT?! NO?! WHAT?! What is the writer doesn’t like this character crap is this!!! With the green lanterns in shock, it only takes one other move for Kong to completely dismantle their mech. All eyes of the heroes turn to grodd, supergirl, and the legion of doom. As the fight proceeds on foot, Beast boy decides to help the bat mech (currently locked in a 2 v 1 with kong and mecha going after them) by turning into grodd himself!! That’s what’s up!! That unfortunately isn’t super effective with supergirl still running around, and finally the heroes are able to get the helmet off Grodd by blasting it off. Now with supergirl free the tides may change again…accept…the league of assassins has just shown back up with the giant bloodthirsty skull lizard monster and it’s underlings!! Geez. As this issue comes to a close we finally find out where Superman went, seems he flew directly to Godzilla to finish what they started!! Suicide mission? Or our heroes last hope? I have a feeling Superman and Godzilla are gonna team up, lol.

I mostly forgot what happened to be honest as I read this a while ago, but it was fine best I remember. I like that Lex Luthor gets to pilot Mechagodzilla-how fun is that? Also, Supes is getting his rematch, which is fun.
I want Shazam to kick more butt, though.

This was a joy to read and the mech suits were a real treat. Wasn’t expecting to see anyone KIA though. 😿 I can pretty much tell what’s going to happen next issue with Superman and Godzilla though…
This comic is fine and follows general Monsterverse lore. I personally wish general MV stories would stop following the “Godzilla is bad” trope, but I suppose destruction of livelihoods is kind of associated with his work so is what he’s known for. I think a new take on the story would be nice…
Anyway, the drawings are good and show nice detail so it’s pretty clear what’s happening throughout the story. I’m not a Justice League fan but love MV so figured I’d give this a go. I couldn’t find a copy of the first comic so just jumped into reading this one.
I don’t have all the background for this story, but essentially Godzilla is chained/trapped at the bottom of the ocean (I assume he was put here by humans as they indicate their fear of him early on in the comic), and 3 other titans are on their way to destroy the homes of millions. Justice League prepares for battle using Mechagodzilla and a few additional hero-made robotic suits. They start attacking the titans, and then King Kong shows up under the mind control of Grodd (an evil ape). Grodd uses King Kong against the humans and eventually is defeated, after which point King Kong and a JL member are back to normal/on the humans’ side once again. Then we see that trouble is brewing down in the deep ocean because Superman swims up to Godzilla and says they have unfinished business.
