Dr. David Jeremiah, founder of Turning Point Radio and Television Ministries and senior pastor of Shadow Mountain Community Church, felt God’s calling on his life at a very early age. Born February 13, 1941 in Toledo, Ohio, Dr. Jeremiah was raised in a family deeply committed to ministry. At the age of eleven, Dr. Jeremiah and his family moved to Dayton, Ohio where his father, Dr. James T. Jeremiah, was the Pastor of Emmanuel Baptist Church, and in 1953 became the President of Cedarville College in Cedarville, Ohio.

As Dr. Jeremiah was sensitive to God’s leading in his life, he followed in his father’s footsteps. In 1963, Dr. Jeremiah received a Bachelor of Arts from Cedarville College. In that same year, Dr. Jeremiah married his college sweetheart, Donna Thompson who also was attending Cedarville College as a business major. He went on to earn a Masters degree in Theology from Dallas Theological Seminary in 1967. He completed additional graduate work at Grace University and was granted the Doctor of Divinity degree from Cedarville College in 1981.

In 1969, Dr. Jeremiah began Blackhawk Baptist Church in Fort Wayne, Indiana, and developed a Christian school grades K through 12. In the 12 years he served as pastor, Blackhawk Baptist Church grew from 7 families to 1300 members. He also launched The Bible Hour television program.

Dr. Jeremiah heeded God’s call, and in 1981 he and his family moved to California where he became the senior pastor of Scott Memorial Baptist Church, now Shadow Mountain Community Church.

Shadow Mountain Community Church is one of the largest churches in San Diego County. It is also the home of Southern California Seminary and Christian Unified Schools.

As Dr. Jeremiah began his ministry at Shadow Mountain, he felt God’s calling to continue the broadcast ministry he started in Fort Wayne. In 1982, Turning Point Ministries became a reality.

Today, Turning Point's 30-minute radio program is heard nationally and internationally on over 1800 stations and translator/satellators. In recognition of Dr. Jeremiah’s commitment to teaching the Word of God, he received the Broadcaster of the Year Award in 1999 from the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB), in August 2002, received the Award of Merit from the Western Chapter of National Religious Broadcasters for Excellence in Broadcasting and Faithfulness in Service, and in 2006 Turning Point received the Best Radio Teaching Program Award. Dr. Jeremiah has served on the Board of Directors for the NRB since 1996.

Turning Point launched a television program in 1982 in San Diego and went nationwide in 2000. Now seen around the world through cable and satellite technology, as well as on terrestrial stations all across the United States, conservative estimates suggest that close to 200 million homes around the world have access to Dr. Jeremiah's Bible teaching each week. Turning Point Television offers a half-hour Bible study message and a full hour worship service with the same great preaching. Carried on several national and international networks such as TBN, ION, and INSP, Turning Point Television has most recently been added to Middle East TV Network and BET, the Black Entertainment Network.

Dr. Jeremiah is a sought-after conference speaker for organizations around the country. He frequently speaks at Cedarville College, Dallas Theological Seminary, Moody Bible Institute, Billy Graham Training Center, Phil Waldrep’s Senior Adult Celebrations and numerous NFL, NBA and Baseball chapels.

Along with his speaking schedule around the country, Dr. Jeremiah also finds time to fulfill another passion in his life, writing. His books are always gripping and right to the point. Some of his books include Escape the Coming Night, The Power of Encouragement, What the Bible Says About Angels, Prayer The Great Adventure, which brought him The Gold Medallion Award in 1998, God In You, Gifts from God

What A Day That Will Be
Dr. David Jeremiah is perhaps the best living biblical communicator. His sermons, books, radio, and television programs have reached countless people for Jesus Christ. In The Coming Golden Age, he turns his attention to the millennial kingdom – the title given to the 1,000-year reign of Jesus Christ on the earth. The fulfillment of many of God’s covenants and promises rests on a literal, physical, future kingdom. At this point in history, Dr. Jeremiah’s in-depth study on the Bibles prophetic teachings concerning the last days and Christs Second Coming is especially relevant.

Encouraging and interesting. I grew up in a Christian denomination that taught amillennialism. I enjoyed reading about a literal one thousand year reign of Christ on Earth. I'm not sure I agree with all of Dr. Jeremiah's conclusions in this book. However, the Bible does seem to support the overall premise.

Thank you to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC copy of The Coming Golden Age in exchange for an honest review.

As an avid reader of Dr. David Jeremiah’s books, I was thrilled to read and review this book using NetGalley. To start, this nonfiction book about the Millennium age (when Christ will come to rule the Earth for 1,000 years) was deeply fascinating and encouraging. We live in an age where negative news, stories, and words plague our minds. However, this book shows Christians how to live with joy FOR TODAY and for our future! Our Lord God has promised a hopeful future for us even though this life comes with trials. Dr. Jeremiah so expertly explains this and provides Christians with an in-depth look at the 1,000-year reign of Christ. He explains everything from the work we will do in the coming age to the food we will eat (and more!). I loved how he explained that even animals will be different. He also shares about eternity, which is also hopeful and insightful.

If you’re nervous about reading a Christian nonfiction book, that’s why I recommend and love Dr. David Jeremiah. His books are written in a simple but organized manner, so the format is effective for newcomers to the study of the end times, Millennium, and eternity!

I highly recommend this story if you want to learn more about the Millennium and the end times in general. If you’re struggling in your walk with God or feeling discouraged, I also suggest this book. As someone who struggles with depression and discouragement, I found this book to help me. It reminded me to keep my eye on the prize and look toward a future of hope. Finally, this book isn’t specifically Christmas-themed, but I would recommend it as a wonderful book to read over the holiday season as it does bring so much joy and hope to the reader.

Books like these remind me that readers can even worship the Lord with our reading habits and for that, I’m so thankful.

Happy reading,

Dr. David Jeremiah is a solid researcher of God’s Word and presents matters of prophecy biblically. I enjoy his writing. It is clear and helps his readers to understand exactly what the Bible points to and is saying. I couldn’t wait to read this book about the millennial reign of Christ.

Jeremiah begins this book on the millennial reign of Christ by outlining the events that unfold in the end times and beyond. It is a simple outline that anyone can understand being that many of us get caught up in the details and forget to look at the forest.

He gives a description of what this millennial reign will look like. The author asks the reader to imagine that time and how glorious it will be. He further explains some of the Hallmark images and understandings of this millennial reign of Christ.

In chapter 3, Jeremiah contends that some people say the millennial reign only appears in one chapter of the Bible it actually appears throughout the Bible. He gives promises found throughout the Bible that pertain to the millennial reign.

The author further explains the millennial reign as God's kingdom come down to earth. He gathers this from the Lord’s prayer that everyone around the world has been reign for centuries. It is promise that Jesus will indeed reign on the earth as lhe doesn't heaven. We should pray this prayer often and understand what we are asking god to do.

He describes the millennial breign as a temporary lifting of the curse given in Genesis three. It will not completely be revoked until the end of Time in the new heavens and Newworth in the new Jerusalem. He also talks about Armageddon. He gives the where, what, and why for the battle of Armageddon.

Jeremiah describes Jerusalem and it's roll in the millennial reign. He gives a brief history of the city and shows how it will be key to the millennial reign. He also scribes the new Jerusalem and how we should see Jerusalem as Christians today. He also describes how Jerusalem will be rearranged with the earthquake Jesus causes wind his feet touchdown on the Mount of Olives before the battle of Armageddon. I found this to be a fascinating chapter.

In chapter 9, the author describes Jesus as King. He describes the names of King Jesus. Only Jesus can fulfill all these names. They all describe an eternal King. He for the shows that King David will be a prince over Jerusalem in this millennial reign. I had never heard of this before, so this was an interesting chapter.

The author further expounds on the fact that there will be no devil in the millennial reign. He expound on the titles John gives the devil in revelation 20 and the place to which he will be bound for 1000 years. Jeremiah describes this time as being free from the devil and how great that will be.

Jeremiah describes what it will be like to rule with Christ during the millennium. Every saint has something to do in the millennial reign. Many of us will find ourselves as rulers with Him over the global community. In chapter 14 Jeremiah describes what old age will be like in Jesus 's Kingdom. He counts how in genesis people lived for hundreds of years and how God will restore longevity of physical life in the millennial breign. The Saints will never die, get sick, or have physical troubles.

The author gives the evidence of glory in the Bible and its meaning. We will experience god's glory in the millennial reign as Jesus is with us on the Earth. He goes further to describe how justice will work. Right now we live in an unjust world, but when Jesus comes he will make sure that justice reigns over all the earth and everyone receives true justice.

Jeremiah says there will be no more war during the millennial reign of Christ. Our world is full of war. But Jesus will bring peace. What will that look like? The author talks about the wealth and prosperity Jesus will Bring in his kingdom. He says that we will be productive workers during this time.

Next is the health in the millennial reign. The Earth will be a healthy place to live. The millennial reign of Christ will also be a time of great joy. He says that everyone will be full of joy. in the millennial Kingdom, animals will be restored to the way God originally made them.

Jeremiah talks about Ezekiel’s Temple and how it is a vision of the temple that will exist in the millennial reign. He also describes how sacrifices Will resume at this temple during the millennial reign. At first, I did not understand why these things would be, but he explains very well why this will be.

In chapter 24, Jeremiah further describes what worship will be like during the relative reign. He presents a Beautiful picture of what worship will be like during this time. What about sin? He lays out why sin can happen and by whom. He has an interesting take on this topic and I have not heard it before but it is biblically solid like the rest of the book.

Since there will be sin in the millennial reign, it makes sense that there will also be salvation. Dr. Jeremiah describes how salvation will work then. The author helps you to understand as a reader the four verses of Revelation that explain Satan being released, the rebellion, and final war. He deals with the final judgment. He describes the possible books that will be opened at the Great White Throne judgment.

Chapter 29 describes the millennial reign as a bridge to eternity. Jeremiah reminds us that while the millennial reign will be an amazing time in history, it is not the final chapter. He explains his view of the new heaven and new earth.

Dr. Jeremiah ends the book by talking about being Kingdom ready. He explains how we can enjoy his some of the aspects of Jesus’s Kingdom now because it is already but not yet.

I enjoyed this solid Book of Bible teaching about the millennial reign of Christ. I did not realize so much in scripture was devoted to this moment in time. Dr. David Jeremiah has a gift for using stories and illustrations along with biblical evidence to expand the truth of God’s Word.

I highly recommend this Book on the millennial reign of Christ –becoming golden age between this history and eternity. If you are interested in and times events and what will happen at the end of time, this is definitely a book that will help you understand what the Bible says about this time. I highly recommend this book to anyone interested in prophecy, the end times, and what will happen as the book of Revelation describes it.

*I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.*

This book was just the balm of encouragement that my soul needed! Bible prophecy is such a generous gift of hope that The Lord has blessed us with, and Dr. David Jeremiah has very masterfully organized and explained in easy to understand terms a great deal of yet unfulfilled prophecy, with specific attention to the Millennial Kingdom. The 1,000 year reign of Christ here on Earth after the 7 year tribulation is something that every believer should long for and look forward to with great anticipation! There is an abundance of hope and excitement to be felt as we try to fathom such a world, which will be a very welcomed contrast to the fallen and corrupt world in which we currently dwell. Dr. Jeremiah touches on a multitude of subjects regarding the Millenium, and offers the reader practical advice on how to be Kingdom Ready. His work here truly does renew the hope that we as believers have in the promise of Christ’s return, and every magnificent detail that He has planned for us!

First sentence from the introduction: I've been fascinated by biblical prophecy all my life, and nothing encourages me more than God's predictions about the future. But I don't make many predictions myself. The Bible is infallible; I'm not.

The Coming Golden Age by its very topic may prove to be decisive. It is about the millennial reign of Jesus Christ. Now there are dozens if not hundreds of positions on how to interpret the book of Revelation. All have a different view or take on the millennial reign. Some would argue that those thousand years are anything but literal. Some see the LITERAL reign of Christ on earth as the key to make sense of all the many, many, many loose ends of the Old Testament. Read the major and minor prophets, reading with the millennial perspective does bring clarity in many ways. Some choose not to engage in the battle exactly--to not argue about the details of prophecy and just focus on the glory of the coming kingdom, to focus on all the kingdom promises. So many rich promises are to be found in the book of Revelation.

So from the get go, the perspectives you bring with you to the text might influence whether you enjoy this devotional book. Some people will automatically reject the theology--end of story. This isn't the one for you.

I don't engage in every battle regarding the details of Revelation. I see strengths and weaknesses to many of the different overall positions. Some I agree with more than others. I have my own leanings. But I also see them as more speculative than certain-certain. End of story GREAT confidence. How we get there--the details are fuzzier. But I do strongly lean towards a LITERAL interpretation of the millennial reign. [That being said, a LOT of authors I read hold different positions. It is not a deal breaker for me.]

I love the idea of this one. Thirty-one readings with the topic of the end days and millennial reign of Christ. Each reading is accessible enough and engaging. I do wish that each reading focuses a tiny bit more on Scripture itself. I wish that the book took a more methodical approach and walked readers through all the passages, the prophecies, the relevant texts. The book does value Scripture--no doubt about that. It just values stories--past and present--little factoids here and there. For example, I read the newspaper the other day and read about [fill in the blank] and then several paragraphs later drop in some verses. It makes for a casual, conversational read. Nothing unpleasant about it. I just wanted a little bit more meat. Because I DO agree with the literal reign and was hoping to learn about all the Old Testament bits in a more organized, focused, easy-to-follow way.

I did enjoy it. I didn't necessarily love, love, love it.

The Coming Golden Age tells us to be thinking about what we need to get to Heaven.

OK, it’s not actually what the book how to go to heaven. But in some of the pages (chapters, too) the reader feels about the time when we die. Early in the first chapter, we get “I’ve been fascination by biblical prophecy all my life, and nothing encourages me more than God’s predications about the future.” (p. 1)

Then we get “The Bible ways ‘People from nations and cities around the world will travel to Jesus. The people of one city will cay to the people of another. ‘Come with us to Jerusalem to ask to the Lord to bless us. Let’s another ‘Come with us to Jerusalem ask the Lord of bless us.” (3)

The author takes on a very difficult time that will come in the world. There’s “one day the Lord Jesus will be King over the early and reign for a glorious cycle of a thousand years.” (27) (And I believe in Jesus but He won’t be a “King.”)

And I can’t get other pieces “American and Europe are under invasion, and the enemy troops are deadly, aggressive and ugly…” (31) Page 6 page has Armageddon (39) and 49 has “The Bible leaves no doubt as the source of the news that so disturbs and enrages the Antichrist…” (42) And then that “Jerusalem Rearranged” will have earthquakes in Morocco. (55, 61). And Chapter 9 covers Queen Elizabeth – the “longest reigning monarch in history” (63).

Then there’s Chapter 13, “The Highway of Holiness: and learn (again) that the oldest man in the Genesis record is Methuselah who lived 969 years. And then there’s the “Worship in the Millennium”, “Sin in the Millennium”, and “ Salvation in the Millennium.” (26)

It’s difficult to get a theme in the book. But it has some moments in the book.

I much enjoyed this book from David Jeremiah. It is essentially a systematic study of Christ's Millennial Kingdom. It is astounding how much can be learned about the Kingdom from a careful study of Scripture and Jeremiah presents it in a manner that is easy to digest and comprehend. Obviously, Jeremiah presents this study from the vantage point of premillennialism. Premillennialism is the natural conclusion from a common sense reading of Scripture and this book helps solidify that interpretation. Scripture culminates in the Millennial Kingdom and that Kingdom serves as a bridge to eternity. Other eschatological interpretations (ex: amillennialism or post-millennialism) robs God's Word of its depth and grandeur. As such, a proper understanding of the Kingdom is essential for understanding God's Word. This book brings the Kingdom to life. As I read it, I found myself looking forward to Christ's return more so than I ever have. I can not recommend this book enough for those who are seeking a better understanding of Scripture. In addition to the book, I also purchased the accompanying study guide and have watched several of Jeremiah's sermons covering the topic. I highly recommend you do the same.

The Coming Golden Age by Dr. David Jeremiah is an enlightening description of the Millennial Kingdom. I picked this book because it's a topic that's not often discussed in detail, and I was curious. I was not disappointed, Dr. Jeremiah's depiction was beautifully imagined and well-supported by verses that were compiled from all over the bible to form a more complete picture.

Chapters were relatively short - about 10 minutes or so each, and I enjoyed reading it before bed. I feel like a lot of us spend so much of our time and energy just trying to survive the current times, that a look at what's coming in the future doesn't often get considered. At least not in my own personal readings. I'm glad to have a clearer view of things to look forward to.

5/5 stars. There was a lot of information presented that I hadn't heard before and I found it to be educational and engagingly written. Highly recommended.

Thank you to NetGalley, Dr. David Jeremiah, and W Publishing | Thomas Nelson for the opportunity to read the ARC. No review was required and all opinions are my own.

This is a bestselling book by Dr. David Jeremiah. He is a methodical writer, covering all aspects of the subject he's writing about. The main thrust of this book is informing the reader about the coming millennium, which is the thousand-year reign of Jesus Christ on the earth that begins right after the 7-year tribulation is over and past. This is an important subject that is often neglected by pastors and teachers, yet it is a period of time that covers a thousand years in a Christian's life. If all of what I'm writing sounds unfamiliar to you - or like a foreign concept, then, this is a book you should read and it will be explained simply, Biblically, and understandably. I've studied a lot about the end times and after, but there was still a lot I learned from the book. Parts of it, I already knew about, but other parts opened up new ways of thinking for me and gave me new information. Dr. Jeremiah loves God and seeks to help others learn about Him and hopefully, accept His free gift of salvation. This is a very worthwhile and worthy book to read.

The content of this book covers the Biblical time of the Millennium when Christ returns to earth to reign for a thousand years. The book is Bible-based and includes many passages from both the Old and New Testaments to help explain what is to happen. It helped me have a better understanding of the Book of Revelation. Dr. Jeremiah explains the beauty of this time period and what will and will not happen. The book of Revelation is complicated and at times disturbing, but the coming of the Millennium offers hope to believers.

The book has short focused chapters and is easy to understand. If you are curious about the part of Revelation that speaks of these 1000 golden years, this would be a good book to start.

This book really opened my eyes, and helped me understand Revelation better. The book hit the mark when it stated how people nowadays want the right to live by his own choices without the consequences. I've tried talking to people about God in general, and they have stated that they are a "good" or "kind" person, and they think it's enough to go to heaven. Sadly, it isn't. I wish more people could get their hands on this book, and understand what eternity holds. I like how Dr. Jeremiah breaks down the verses, and makes references to prophesies in the OT. I would highly, highly recommend this book.

The author covers the Rapture, Tribulation, Armageddon, Millenium, and Eternity, focusing on the Millenium.
He addesses the results of sin, rejecting Christ, and the destruction of the evil one. We have had many wars and many deaths. They will eventually come to an end. The Kingdom of Christ will be a Kingdom of peace. During the Millenium, we will have an opportunity to engage in meaningful work. The author uses Scripture to describe the Millenium and eternal life
The book is very encouraging to those who have accepted Christ, and hopefully it will stir the hearts of all who need to make the decision to trust in Christ.

Good but disagree with his preTrib doctrine!

Other than a “secret preTrib rapture” doctrine espoused
I thought very good and inspiring book!

The Dispensational preTrib teaching is a relatively new and modern “first time” interpretation in church history. It started in the 1830’s with John Darby from Scotland. This was a Plymouth Brethren teaching which was not fully accepted then but has
spread around the ministry world by the notes of CI Scofield as “inerrant” as Scripture itself. Nowadays it’s accepted without much explicit search of the Scriptures! Beware of its lure to become unprepared for a future Tribulation of all true believers!

While I have listened to and been blessed by Dr. Jeremiah's preaching for many years, this is the first book I have read of his. The book is well written and researched. Dr. Jeremiah took great care to make sure he used understandable terminology and examples in the text. While I slightly differ with him in some of my eschatological opinions, I definitely enjoyed the book and found several ideas that both encouraged and challenged me. Although, Dr. Jeremiah talked in detail about how the Millenium will impact humanity, both corporately and personally, he always brought the focus of the book back to Jesus. I will use this book as reference material when I teach The Revelation next.

The Coming Golden Age by Dr. David Jeremiah is another of his thoughtful and well researched glimpses into the future as told by the Bible. Scripture verses accompany Dr. Jeremiah’s commentary as he explains the coming Kingdom. He also gives insight into how to prepare for the future. These times are so uncertain, and Dr. Jeremiah seeks to reassure the reader that they can have a lasting security and confidence in a better world government headed by the One who knows us best. I completely recommend this book.

I have been using this book in a women's Bible study class I teach. We've all enjoyed learning the prophecies and what the future holds for us in the coming Millennium. Dr. David Jeremiah does a great job in tying in things we should be looking for today and what is coming in the future. For those who know Jesus as their personal Savior, it will be a Garden of Eden. However, just as in the last Garden of Eden, sin will reside and will be tempting. For a thousand years we'll be residing as residents on an Earth where Jesus will be reigning, preparation for eternity. What a joy it will be.

This book has reignited my hope and longing for the future kingdom! Jeremiah paints a beautiful picture of what life will be like in the millennium when Jesus is enthroned in Jerusalem and there is once again peace and prosperity on this earth. It will be like nothing we’ve ever know, believers in our glorified bodies interacting with human believers who found a way to survive the tribulation, imagine that! Great scriptural support for it all. Fantastic book!

This is the first time I’ve seen a book focus on the Millennium, rather than the Rapture or the Tribulation. What an uplifting, hope-filled read for those that are in Christ. The author writes in an easily accessible style, as if he were having a conversation about what the Millennium will be like, rather than as if he were giving a lecture to seminarians. He also backs up each of his points with plenty of Scripture references, so it’s easy to follow the explanations.

Very clear writing. I am a big fan of David Jeremiah and wish I could give more to his ministry. I recognize though that I have a ministry of my own which he supports. This book and many others talk about things people may have interest in and would like to discuss regarding Heaven, the thousand year reign and salvation.

Dr. David Jeremiah created one of the best study guides for the BIBLE. I really enjoyed listening, learning, and reading along. I viewed all the research completed in the references.
