This handsome book is mostly pictures. It traces the history of the American woman and her work with cattle, horses, rodeo, where she competed often winning against the men, Hollywood actresses, from the stars, the stunt woman to the glamour girl. The use of the cowgirl in story and advertising.

This was a great resource for me because of the primary sources, stories and general history. If you love ranch life, vintage western fashion or old photography this book will interest you.
