Rate this book
Adam Nevill's A Horror Omnibus contains three tales of supernatural terror from one of Britain’s best horror authors . . .

Apartment 16 : An apartment block in London has lain empty for fifty years. Seth is the night watchman and one night hears a disturbance in the strange apartment. What he experiences changes his life forever. Could the doorway to Apartment 16 be the gateway to something altogether more terrifying?

The Ritual : Four old university friends reunite for a hiking trip in the Scandinavian wilderness of the Arctic Circle. When they take a shortcut, they soon discover old macabre remains and a bestial presence that turns their hike into a nightmare that could cost them their lives. But the four friends soon discover that death doesn’t come easy among these ancient trees . . .

Last Days : Kyle Freeman is an indie film-maker with no money and few options, so when he lands a commission to make a documentary about The Temple of the Last Days cult, he jumps at the chance. Little does he know that his investigation into the cult’s bloody history will lead him into the darkest places he’s ever known.

Creepy Books Alert! One of my picks for you as a total winner with Halloween on way.

This is 3 of Adam’s creepiest and best books all rolled into one omnibus! A trio of darkly beautiful horror that will leave you wanting a lot more of Adam Nevill. He is my favourite horror Author ever and I’ve read a lot of horror and dark fiction.

For best impact I have full reviews of all 3 of these books written. Hop on to those reviews for my detailed breakdown of why they are so darn good.

If you don’t have time for that, I’ll simply say this…You won’t regret grabbing this trio one bit. Absolutely brilliant storytelling from a master of the creepy and disturbing.

What an amazing collection! I have reviewed each novel separately, and you can find those reviews on my profile. Here, I am just going to express my gratitude to Adam Nevill and Macmillan because the value of this omnibus goes far beyond the pounds and pence. That is why I am saying thank you to them for gifting us with such great content for such a reasonable price.

If you are already a Nevill fan, I need not tell you why you should buy this book, and if you are not yet, you surely will be after you buy/read this book!

Here is a short breakdown of each story:

Apartment 16: Set in a decaying luxury apartment building in London, it follows an American woman named April as she inherits an apartment and uncovers its dark, eerie past—as well as the role the long time residents played in it. It includes tropes such as haunted house, inheritance horror, and ghostly encounters.

The Ritual: In this gripping story, a group of friends embarks on a hiking trip in the Scandinavian wilderness, only to become lost and encounter a malevolent presence in the forest. It includes tropes such as lost in the wilderness, ancient evil, and survival horror.

Last Days: Documentary filmmaker Kyle Freeman delves into the sinister world of the Temple of the Last Days, a notorious cult. As he investigates, he uncovers supernatural occurrences and dark secrets that threaten his sanity and life. It includes tropes such as sinister cults, found footage/documentary style, and supernatural elements.

I can't remember the last time I had to stop reading a book, because it had freaked me out so badly I had to get up and put the lights on. That's exactly what Last Days did to me, and I can honestly say that this story was so well written, I have to rank it way up on my list of all time favourite reads. So hard to know where to start, without spoilers, but the creepy atmosphere is so well written that this book grabbed me right from the beginning, and will stay with me long after I have dared to follow it through to its breathtaking conclusion. For sheer horror, this goes beyond the norm, yet the story itself is always central and driving the pace on. I just couldn't put it down as the end approached, I had to find out what happened, and I devoured the last handful of chapters without pause.

My favourite Adam Nevill book to date, Last Days will not fail to disappoint fans of terrorising horror, with an intelligent, well researched storyline. It has left me wondering why on earth I didn't read it immediately after Apartment 16 and The Ritual, as I had invested in the omnibus Kindle version of all three in one volume. I can only blame myself for putting off the pleasure of immersing myself in an another absolutely cracking horror story, which has left me desperate for more from this talented author. Don't hesitate to read any of these three books, especially Last Days. Just be sure you leave a light on when you go to bed.
