This is a fun book to read, great for young kids. It follows a group of dogs, a cat and a bird. They are in the Roman times and are always going on adventure and trying to our smart the Roman dogs. Very cute and fun to read.

Firstly, a huge thank you to NetGalley and Papercutz for the eARC in exchange for an honest review.

Man, I haven't read Astrix in years so 'Dogmatix and the Indomitables, Vol. 1 by Yves Coulon: Matthieu Choquet; Jérôme Erbin was a really nostalgic read. It brought old memories and feelings from when I was a child (as triggering as that is).

It's dogs, so let's be fair here and talk about the fact that there isn't much of a plot and that's okay because it was still really enjoyable and the art is incredible.

So much nostalgia...

This is a very cute graphic novel about a group of dogs who are trying to resist the Roman empire in Gaul. The names and puns can be entertaining enough for adults, and the fun storylines are great for children. This series is a spinoff of the Asterix graphic novels, and fans will enjoy little references, but everyone can enjoy this book whether they've read Asterix or not.

Thank you to Netgalley and to Papercutz for the chance to read this book in exchange for a review. All my opinions are my own.

Three delightful short stories about Dogmatix and his animal friends. Set in the world of Asterix, I wondered why Dogmatix was not with his human friends, and why he's in Lutetia (ancient Paris) and not in the village where we got to know him.
This has two answers:
1. Who cares?
2. It's said in an afterword that this is a prequel<\i> to the Asterix books. One may look forward to an epic and emotional first meeting. This happens in Asterix and the Banquet.
Little kids can enjoy this book and learn some history, or even start reading like I did some years ago with an Asterix book. Parents can do worse than using this as an introduction to reading and comics.

Thanks to Netgalley and Papercutz for providing an ARC.

A fun spin-off from the much loved Asterix, this volume of dogmatix and the indomitables is a collection of three comic strips. We follow Dogmatix and his furry and feathered friends as they aid the characters of Asterix in their fight against the Romans.
For those who grew up with Asterix and Obelix this is a trip down memory lane.
Thank you to NetGalley and Papercutz for this arc.

Dogmatix & his indomitable team are lovable and hilarious in this 3 in 1 graphic novel about a group of animals in 52 BC who love hanging out, getting into hijinx, and standing up to their Roman bullies. Great for young/middle grade readers who enjoy talking animals, heros, and historical fiction.

Interesting spin off of Asterix. I always wondered what Dogmatix did before chasing Asterix in Paris.

An entire book focused on Dogmatix, sign me up! I mean what isn't there to like. It was cute and a lot of fun. A must for any Asterix and Oblix fan.
