I thought I'd keep the reading of this book for an upcoming car trip, but one look at the first words and I decided against it; from the first few sentences, I was hooked. The only things that stopped me from devouring it were my phone running out of battery and the fact that it was already late in the night.
I really liked it. It doesn't go too fast or too slow, it's funny and sweet, and so easy to read without stopping. The characters are unique and endearing, the plot, original, and the whole story is very good, thanks to the author's amazing writing skills and imagination.
I'm kinda mad I ended up going to sleep at 6 am when I couldn't fall asleep and decided to finish the book instead, but it was definitely worth it. I'm looking forward to the next ones.

This is my first time reading this kind of trope and genre, and I loved it—especially how it is written and its storyline. Shay really did not disappoint in creating an engaging story. I love how there were no cringe moments I read in the book; I never felt the need to go and take a break while reading because every part was so exciting and intense to the point it made me want to jump right into the next chapter.

I felt different emotions in just one sitting while reading the book because of the turns of events. I also appreciate how realistic it felt—the events and situations were well-written and well-researched. I never once questioned, "Huh? Is this even possible?" There were no exaggerated things, which I’m really thankful for.

I fell in love with how well the characters—especially my woman Eve. And the plot was so unexpected! I was surprised while reading those parts. Thank you, Shay, for producing another amazing book. You never fail to impress us with your writing skills and ideas. I’m looking forward to your future books!

finished reading the whole book in one setting....because it was that GOOD....the characters were well portrayed..the chemistry betweent the leads was top notch and the trope was very unique and interesting...it's what attracted me to read this book at the first place...i have read author's other books too in wattpad and I knew she wouldn't disappoint us with this one and damn she didn't...I am so much impressed by her writing style and let's not talk about her sense of humour...even though the genre wasn't rom-com she was able to deliver some good humour to break the tense atmosphere....the plot was perfectly written...and the twist at the end was not at all anticipated..I have high hopes that this book will gain popularity among the LGBT folks...

Surprisingly emotional, smart, and just really, really good.

I honestly wasn’t sure what to expect when I started „But Boss, I Can’t Kill Hot Women”, but I ended up loving it way more than I thought I would. It’s a spy story, yes — but it’s also full of feelings, tension, and two incredibly well-written, messy women who somehow make you root for them even when they’re on opposite sides.

Eretz is such a layered main character, and watching her slowly unravel around Eve was… honestly kind of devastating in the best way. Their dynamic is sharp, complicated, and felt real.

Also, the writing? Genuinely clever and funny without trying too hard. The tone balances action and intimacy so well. It made me care — a lot.

If you’re into queer stories with tension, slow-burn, and emotional payoff, this one’s really worth reading. I’ll definitely be thinking about these characters for a while.

I’ve been following Shay’s work on Wattpad for a long time — first through the Ms. Evans series (iconic!), and then I was eagerly waiting for But Boss I Can’t Kill Hot Woman to drop chapter by chapter. So imagine my excitement when I got selected for the ARC copy — I’m still so grateful!!
Now, let’s talk about the book. I don't even know where to start because I’m still emotionally recovering.

[SPOILER ALERT]

First of all, Ariel and Eve completely stole my heart. Their chemistry, their tension, the back-and-forth, the softness beneath all the danger... ugh, I lived for every second. Also, Beinis really surprised me — I didn’t expect to love him that much, especially after that hilarious van scene where Ariel complains about the smell and his questionable hygiene 😂. But they ended up being a great duo, and he literally saved her life. Respect.
I didn’t see Yousef’s betrayal coming at all. And Asher, Eve’s brother? Ugh. Spoiled brat. I was so done with him.

Some of the most stressful scenes were when Ariel stayed the night at Eve’s place, then got up in the middle of the night snooping around on her laptop 😭 — meanwhile, Eve’s just sleep-talking, calling her name. My heart 💗🥺.

The writing was so sharp and engaging. Shay doesn’t just write action — she builds characters you care deeply about. I actually caught myself googling police academies for a minute because this book had me convinced I needed to become a secret agent (but I already picked economics so… oh well 😅).

One of my favorite quotes from Ariel that really hit me:
“People hold back when they're afraid of the consequences—afraid of a reaction, or rejection. I'm not. Rejection doesn't scare me. Regret does.”

And I melted when Ariel asked Eve if she was happy, and Eve answered:
“You make me happy, Yael.”

And don’t even get me started on that near-the-end scene: “Eve... I didn't come to kill you. I fell for you like a fool the moment I saw you. I'm in love with you. Every atom, every cell, every fiber of me is in love with you.”
😭😭😭 I genuinely thought Shay was going to emotionally destroy me.

All in all, if you're into queer thrillers with assassins, slow-burn romance, and jaw-dropping twists, read this book. I cannot wait for the sequel — Shay, if you’re reading this: DROP. THAT. SEQUEL.

This book left a lasting mark on me. It’s a masterfully written, emotionally layered spy novel that explores far more than espionage and seduction it dives into identity, loyalty, trauma, and the dangerous intersections of love and duty.

From the very first chapter, I was pulled into Eretz’s world a trained assassin forced to seduce a powerful woman not just for intel, but for a mission that’s meant to end in death. What unfolds instead is a quietly devastating unraveling of a woman who’s lived her life detached from feeling — until Eve.

Eretz is one of the most complex protagonists I’ve read in a long time. Brutally efficient, emotionally repressed, and sarcastic on the surface, she slowly reveals a heart that has been broken more by the nature of her job than any enemy ever could. Her internal conflict wanting to stay professional, needing to survive, but being drawn to someone so unexpected is portrayed with quiet intensity and subtle pain.

Eve, meanwhile, is not your average target. She’s composed, unreadable, and commanding but not without layers. Their interactions are charged with unsaid things, quiet power shifts, and deeply believable emotional tension. The way their relationship unfolds is slow, dangerous, and beautiful.

What surprised me most is how much heart this story carries. Behind the spy work, the surveillance, and the false identities, there is a raw, human longing for connection for someone to really see you. And that’s what this book does: it sees the parts of people that are often hidden, and it handles them with grace.

Shay H-K Zayit has written something unforgettable. This isn’t just a spy thriller. It’s a psychological, emotional exploration of two women circling each other in a world where trust can mean death. The writing is sharp. The pacing is deliberate. The emotional weight is real.
I will be thinking about this one for a long time and I will be waiting, patiently and impatiently, for the sequel.

Safe to say Shay, has wrote another banger. I’ve read all but one of Shay’s book and this one doesn’t fall short of the rest. BBICTAHW is it’s on uniquely beautiful blend of tensions, both with self and romantically, and characters full of wit and strength. I’ve read very few Assassin x target books, and I can confidently say this land in the middle of my list. This troupe often feels close to the Mafia troupe (one I hate), but here was completely take a different direction. I loved that one of the strongest elements is the way we witness the dissonance in Eretz’ character unfold throughout the story. The story gives us a front-row seat to her mind, yet despite being in her point of view, there’s a unsure sense of distance, almost as if we’re observing her rather than bonding with her. This could be intentional, possibly reflecting how she perceives herself or wants to be seen (like her distance from the people around), but the execution feels slightly unsure at times.

What really stood out was the dynamic between Eretz and Eve. Their banter filled with energy, and there’s a tension you can’t help but soak up in how Eve holds herself back, torn between desire and distrust. It’s subtle, but it’s there, and it makes every interaction between them layered, thick with anticipation and desire.

Watching Eretz’s recklessness evolve and Eve’s guard dissolve was another highlight. Eretz character arc feels natural, showing growth without losing that chaotic edge that makes her so compelling. Whereas you can feel for Eve as she starts to fall in love and let her guard down to care more.

Overall, this is a well articulated, unique read with complex characters and strong emotional undercurrents. I just wish I could have connected a bit more deeply with the MC’s especially being in dual POV. Helping to feel more in the emotional bits later in the story. Regardless of the fact, I’m ready for the sequel.

First of all let me say that i’ve been a fan of the author since i’ve first stumbled upon her book Ms.Evans on Wattpad and to think now i was selected as an ARC reader for her book is insane to me. ThankYou !

Now let’s get into it, this masterpiece really got under my skin in the best way possible. It didn’t only have a captivating plot of the spy and the target with chemistry over the roof but with every chapter it kept peeling layers and layers of self doubt, trauma manifesting itself through internal conflicts and lifestyle, loyalty and the chaos of love and work crashing with each other.
The way the relationship between Eretz and Eve unfolded left me only craving for more i couldn’t get enough of the longing, the slow burn, the tension, the forbidden yet beautiful connection and chemistry between them.
It really was more than a spy novel it touched a lot of psychological subjects of trauma, self doubts, repressed emotions but the most important thing was behind all the masks, lies and missions there was the want to be seen for who they really were inside, the parts they tried to hide because they got hurt too many times so the only thing they knew were to guard and to be able to handle those parts with care.
I loved this story a lot it got me hooked in a way a book hasn’t for a long time. I couldn’t thank the author Shay H-K Zayit enough for creating such a special story that touched my heart. I look forward to read more from the author.

But boss I can’t kill hot woman is an awesome book. I loved the dinámica between the characters, it’s funny and an easy read if you want to get out of a funk. The I was send to kill you but I fell in love with you trope is awesome. My favorite part was definitely the fact that neither could stay away from each other. They were just pulled toward each other like magnets. I think that the author could have developed more on was the relationship between the two characters, I mean I understand that people attract each other but maybe that the two character could get to know each other a bit more before they risk their lives for one another. Anyways if what you are looking is a funny story, easy read and a good trope, you should give this book a chance.

"But Boss, I Can't Kill Hot Women" is one of those books that surprises you in the best way. It is a light read that doesn’t try to overcomplicate things. The plot flows easily, but there are just enough twists to keep you hooked. The main characters are super different from each other, yet you can’t help but root for them. The author is a young talent that feels like a fresh voice with a lot of potential, definitely someone to watch!

This book is absolutely amazing! I had the honor of being a ARC reader, and this definitely goes in my top assasin/espionage. The story has the right amount of wity humor and action, mixed with a soft yet delicious sapphic romance. It's an easy read with great flow, and is impossible to put down.

Funny and thrilled , Kept me hooked up till the end of the book. The character development was sooo good and I am obsessed with yeal, even now this book has been ended for a while now I still sometime think about the both of them and what would happen in book 2 , what mission yeal is going to do and do on and my most favourite part about the book was how yeal went from "I have to kill her " to " I have to save her at any cost".
