Alex and Titus survived Mount Vesuvius, but can they survive an immortal hellbent on revenge?

After their escape from ancient Herculaneum, Alex and Titus are safe in modern day America. Alex is home, yet everything has changed. She has plenty on her mind now—her desire for Titus, the realization that she’s a time traveler, and keeping her museum job. When Titus finds comfort in the familiarity of military life, Alex is torn between her pacifist background and her desires for a future with him.

If that wasn’t enough, their old enemy, the immortal Fortuna Atrox, soon becomes her new boss. When she hires Alex’s old flame to work with her, it threatens to drive a deeper wedge between Alex and Titus.

Caught between a comfortable past and strange new future, Alex faces an enormous embrace her newfound life with Titus and the Muses, or submit to the manipulative hand of Fate.

Can Alex and Titus defy Fortuna's ruthless schemes, or will they—and their bond—succumb to the unrelenting force of ancient vengeance? If you love time travel romances (like Outlander), immortals involving themselves in mortal affairs (like Doctor Who), and fresh twists on mythology (like Percy Jackson), then you will love Modern Day Muses and the Tempus Viatores series.

If you wanted to bring a time traveler into the present day would you have "weekend binge session of all things Addams Family"?

How difficult would it be for you? Would you be: "I’m still wrapping my head around everything. Time-travel, multiple universes, mythology being more than mythology."

And going forward would you have to always have the thought in your mind: "Every decision we make changes the timestream we’re in."

The difficulties for Alex are beyond comprehension. It's all made worse because the Muses she favors are in conflict and have been for centuries with those led by Fortuna Atrox, aka: Tyche. To pile on more difficulties, Fortuna makes in her goal to make Alex's life miserable, as only an immortal can. It's that or death, but maybe death is preferable.

And Alex is in love from her visit to ancient Italy. Titus is on Fortuna's bad list also. Lots of story time in the book dedicated to these young lovers as they try to make a life for themselves in this new arrangement of time and distance.

I loved learning more about Alex and Titus’ adventures in the modern world. I’m so tired of Fortuna’s misdeeds though. I can’t wait to read the next book, that is hopefully happening soon.

Nelson does it again with book 2! A romantic and beautiful story full of challenges, immortals, death threats, and a whole lot of drama. Very well written and a fun, quick read.
