A shadow looms over the border.

To the north, the Loerstadt Gate stands as the Kingdom of Tirea's bastion against the ambitions of the Grand Duchy of Granholtz, and yet its walls shake as attacks within the volatile border region threatens the fragile peace which exists between the two nations.

Watched by the eyes of the continent, Juliette Contzen, 3rd Princess and sometimes adventurer, strives forth to secure her kingdom’s borders against the wiles of the Grand Duchess.

I burned calories laughing!

This is a wonderful book and a wonderful series. When I first started, I thought perhaps our Hera was a little bit dim but fairly good-hearted. As time's going on and I've gotten to know Miss Juliette, it turns out that she's actually extremely intelligent. She just lives in a slightly different world than the rest of us. It's actually kind of sad to discover that everything she does is within the confines of being a member of royalty. The expectations have piled on top of her so high that it's a miracle she can carry them all. But she does so with grace and good humor. Don't get me wrong, she has an evil streak a mile wide. But that's one of the things I like best about her. The princess has a way about her that convinces people to do what she wants them to do with a minimum of violence. Although her "gardening techniques" tend to leave a lot of debris in their wake. I don't want to leave too many spoilers, so I'll just say that book 6 is kind of interesting considering that Juliette started out on this adventure to avoid getting married. So we shall see what Snow Dancer has in mind.
These books are great for any age and have a lot of laughter, but also love and personal growth. I certainly enjoyed this one; it had some new characters as well as some brief appearances from some older ones. I like the way the author intertwines the actions of all the characters so we can keep current with plots, etc.

The hilarious journey continues!

Honestly, I always forget how good this series is until I start reading again. The author does a fantastic job of capturing hilarious situations in perfect detail. The main characters monologue never cease to amuse either. A fantastic book!

Still hilarious

While book 5 was my favorite with its romance novel loving vampire, this one is pretty good too. We even see one of the princes for a few pages, as well as a gourmet chef giant living out in the woods.

I chortled. I sniggered. I grinned like a loon. I might even have let out a sneaky 'Ohohohoho'. I got a lot of strange looks on my commute. A joyous book, (and series).

Entertaining

I just want to leave a review for a book series I find amusing. 20 word minimum, jeez. I like the way the author phrases things, reminds me a.bit of Douglas Adams.
