It may be 2024, but when a MacTavish wants a bride, he steals her.

Dougal
The Blackwood Mafia are swine, but when they send their daughter Isla to steal from me, she's surprisingly effective. She doesn't realize the true value of what she's taken, so to keep it out of the Blackwood's hands... I steal her.

Isla
"Get in, get out," my father says. "Nothing to it," he says. Well, I'm the one trapped in this giant hunting lodge that looks more like some medieval fortress, and it's apparently been built to keep people from escaping, rather than getting in. Dougal is about to learn that nothing can hold me. Not this fortress, and not the ring he forced on my finger.

If you love stories from Neva Altaj Jagger Cole, Michelle Heard and Sophie Lark, Illicit is perfect for you.

Illicit - A Dark Scottish Mafia Romance can be read as a stand-alone with a HEA and no cheating for 18+ readers only. Please read the trigger warnings in the preface. Illicit is the second book in the MacTavish Stolen Brides Series.

I received a free ARC copy (but would've read it regardless!).

Illicit is such a good book. The chemistry between Dougal and Isla was perfection. I love that the story began with them spotting each other a few times and having a couple of interactions before the story really begins.

As always, Arianna's books have an amazing mix of suspense, romance, and a bit of humor. I can't wait to read the next one!!

This is the second book in “The MacTavish Stolen Brides Series” and I cannot wait for the third! This book, just like the first, it will have you hooked from the first chapter! Isla Blackwood is caught stealing a highly sensitive object from a big party at the MacTavish residence by Dougal MacTavish, the third son. So in true MacTavish fashion, when you want a particular person for your bride, you kidnap them! Oops, bad timing for Isla, great timing for Dougal 😊

Isla is very a very strong person and extremely loyal her family - she hates the MacTavish clan to the core! Being forced to marry Dougal is obviously not a great way to start a marriage, let alone a lasting relationship, or can it? Will she grow to love her husband? Will their marriage bring both the clan’s together and end forty years of hatred? When they discover that both their clans are being attacked by the same unknown entity unite them? The story is full of passion, intrigue, romance, danger, drama, twists and turns around every corner! The heat between these two is off the page 🥵🥵 - especially the motor bike scenes! There is never a dull moment - you will be hooked! I know I was 😊

A thoroughly enjoyable read from one chapter to the next - at times you are metaphorical “on the edge of your chair” wondering what will happen next. You will fall in love with Dougal and Isla, hoping that everything with work out for them and they have a future together. Overall, I would highly recommend this book and you will not be disappointed 😊

Oh, Those MacTavish Men!

Esla is a clever jewel thief and the daughter of Scottish Mafia head, Bruce Blackwood. The Blackwood and the MacTavish clans have been feuding for 40 years. When Esla is commissioned by her father to steal “something valuable” from the MacTavish’s, she almost gets away with it until she’s caught by Dougal MacTavish. And so the fun begins! Ahh Dougal, handsome, hunky, tattooed, and foul-mouthed…my favorite kind of morally gray hero! When given the choice by his father to kill or marry the lovely Esla, of course the already smitten Dougal agrees to marry her. In a hilarious wedding scene, a screaming Esla is pinned to a couch by him as she is forced to repeat her vows by the same hapless Parish Priest who was coerced into performing Cameron and Morana’s wedding! When the two retreat to Dougal’s lodge for safekeeping, they really get to know each other, and not just in the bedroom. Although, Esla is VERY appreciative of Dougal’s prowess in and out of the boudoir! They are hot together! The two of them learn to trust one another as they work as a team to find out who is targeting both clans. Dougal gets even more turned on when he finds out Esla graduated at the top of her class at the Ares Academy as an expert marksman. She proves to be quite the badass, as you will discover when a war breaks out.
As with all Arianna Fraser books, the lively banter between the MMC and FMC, sets her stories apart from others. The interactions between the naughty Dougal and the sarcastic but kind hearted Esla makes them so appealing. You root for their happiness every step of the way. If you haven’t read Ms. Fraser’s books before, you don’t know what you’re missing…so get started! Great bonus epilogue too…I’ll never look at a motorcycle in quite the same way again!

Isla is a Jewel their but this might be her last job for her father when he sends her into enemies territory. Dpugal knows just who and what Isla is and to protect his families secrets he takes her captive and makes her his bride. But soon the pair discovers both of their clans are being attacked by an unknown enemy can they work together for both their families as one unit? Well written the story captives you from the start. Steamy hot scenes- I mean men in kilts enough said! Action, desires and more! A great addition to the series.

Another fantastic book

This is a great one, the plot and characters are very well written. The h and H are from rival clans and her father asks her to steal something from the H’ family. She does and gets caught. Instead of killing her, she is forced to marry the H. There’s attempted murder, betrayal, kidnapping and lots of hot sex. The h is feisty, beautiful and kind. There are some funny moments between the characters. Can’t wait for the next one. Great epilogue.

I absolutely loved how at war Isla was with her feelings because as unsure as she was… DOUGAL WAS SO CERTAIN and it made for some delicious banter. The author does a wonderful job of including casual Scottish dialect and providing definitions throughout the book, which adds a cozy feel. There were times I was at the edge of my seat and times I was giggling and kicking my feet! Super fun read :)

This was a thrilling story. We follow the journey of Isla and Dougal. They are perfect for each other and their relationship started slowly and a little exploring and soon it became more. Wonderful storyline and characters. I recommend reading this book.

First I’d like to say the cover is everything !! 🤣
Now,to the story itself; I love a good thief story!!
I loved the fact that Isla fought Dougla at first and tried to escape!! Yes to a strong and virgin heroines
Like all those books it’s full of adventures and twist and turns!
The last steamy scene was soooo good 💎
The only thing I didn’t like, and it’s me only, is the spanking. I don’t like women being spanked after doing something of their own will… and falling in love after 🤦🏼‍♀️ I don’t mind foreplay and everything but not punishment for doing what you want! But again it’s only me.

Great mix of action and HEA

Some stories written tend to be focused on the romance and other stories written focus on the suspense. But Illicit is a good mix of action and romance. Most enjoyable.

I find I enjoy her writing style (I do forgive the typos and some errors because of it). She is fun and I get a kick oit the banter between the characters.

The brothers crack me up. I love them.

And Dougal is a sweetheart and has a way with words and I just loved Isla.

“With your long, wild hair and those high cheekbones? You look like a seductive Viking, here to ravage the countryside.” When I skim the sponge along another scrape, I admit, “A Viking that’s been in a fistfight and possibly lost.”

And his feelings for Isla … well

“I’ve never been in a state where I’m on high alert, pissed off, turned on, and laughing at the same time. It’s a miracle I’m not having a stroke at this point.”

awesome!!!

Another stellar book by Ariana Fraser!

This book is about MacTavish brother Dougal and Isla Blackwood. This book is sexy, humorous and soooo hot.
I smiled when Dougal tells Isla his mother Elspeth trained all her sons in sewing a button, cleaning the bathroom and cooking a meal. I would add to that ironing a shirt. Necessities for any young man lol!!!
This was an adventure to be sure, and the Scottish translations at the end of the chapters just added to the charm and warmth of this book.
I will read anything that Ariana writes! She is an amazing Author and it’s a privilege to read her books!
Am looking forward to the next brother, Lachlan.
Well done, highly recommend.

This is totally an escapist fantasy. After all, who wouldn’t like to be young, rich, smart and beautiful? A crack shot with a sniper rifle, and an accomplished jewel thief - well, maybe not so much. But swept away by a tall, dark, handsome sex god of a man, yes, although again a criminal mastermind, maybe not so much. Not everyone has the same fantasies.

At any rate, it’s all a normal part of life for graduates of Ares Academy like Dougal and Isla in this second book about the MacTavish crime family of Scotland. Isla amd Dougal come from rival, feuding clans, a bit Romeo and Juliet-ish, minus the love at first sight part. It’s more of a marriage of (in)convenience, with two mistrustful parties unwillingly yoked together, but with an HEA in the offing, we know this will change, and in the end put an end to the pointless feud (I never was quite clear on why they ended up in a death feud, other than putting it down to stupidity on the part of the two men who started it.)

This is another excellent addition to Arianna Fraser’s crime syndicate family sagas, every bit as good as those that have come before. Dougal and Isla are a delightful couple within the pages of a book, even if maybe not the people you would want as neighbors in real life. Their transition from enemies to loving husband and wife certainly makes an enjoyable read.

This wonderfully written story is the second book in this amazing series. A story about two Scottish mafia rival families. It tells you about the reason why the two Scottish mafia families don't get along as well as how a marriage between the families brought them back together.
A daughter of a Scottish mafia chieftain and a brother of a Scottish mafia chieftain from two rival mafia families bump into one another during several different events and after their first meeting they two can’t stop thinking about the other. The last event they meet at finds the daughter in the brother’s family estate where she’s trying to steal an artifact from his family that her father wants but she gets caught by the brother who she has seen several times.
The brother saves the daughter and he takes her to a secluded safehouse that his family owns, where they get married even though the daughter is somewhat forced into it they still get married. When they first got to the safehouse the brother with one of his brother’s took the artifact there to hide it so no one would try to steal it again. The couple stayed there for a long while. While being there she tries to escape, She talks to her father only for her father starts to retaliate by burning the rival family’s business down, The couple have a meeting with her father only to have the restaurant blown up while they are there. During that time they grow closer. The brother finds out that the daughter is a virgin and he winds up giving her oral sex then sex.
The brother takes the daughter to his family’s estate to have dinner with his family, she becomes close to the brother’s family. She was worried about going but his family puts her at ease.
The couple move into the brother’s apartment and the two go to his shooting range to practice shooting. The couple are together quite a bit going to events as husband and wife. During one of these types of events they go to get an event to do some business with a couple of men and while there she’s accosted by an old friend who wants to save her but she blows him off. The daughter realizes that she’s in love with the brother. After the daughter meets the friend she finds her husband after going to the restroom and helps him with his business, talking to one of the men. While together the brother informs the daughter what the artifact was and how the two families got ahold of it.
The brother takes the daughter on a ride on his motorcycle. They wind up at a bar where the brother and his brother’s would go to when they were younger. They eat and have a drink before they go out and have sex against the bike before going home.
When they make it to their penthouse two of the brother’s brothers are there. One is the chieftain of the Scottish mafia family who has been trying to get ahold of him for a while. Things have been happening and they are gathering all of the Scottish mafia family and getting them to the mafia family’s estate. They want the daughter's help with keeping the estate safe. While packing a bag, the brother gives her a phone of her own to call her father to check everything and come to find out the same thing has been happening with her family as well.
They make a stop at the shooting range to get some weapons, ammo and safety vests.
They get to the mafia family’s estate and soon the brother leaves with his brothers to tend to some business. While the brother goes she makes a couple of suggestions as well as trying to find the best place to set up her weapons which she figures out be up in the tower so the brother’s mother takes her there, the daughter has a walkie-talkie tom communicate with the rest of the security team as well as one of the sister-in-laws.
The daughter sets up her rifle and starts taking out both the enemy and their drones before they start firing towards the tower and would have to move to someplace that they are not targeting. She gets ahold of the brother who is also in the middle of a gun fight, he tells her that they will be there soon. While the two are talking they tell each other that they love one another. The daughter goes back to getting as many of the enemy as possible. Soon the brother and the rest of the brothers come and finish the fighting. The brother goes to her and takes her to get checked out.
The brother’s family finds out that the one behind it is a cartel boss and his men as well as mercenaries that he has bought. The daughter calls her father to see if he’s okay, the father tells her what happened there and during the call the brother’s father wants to talk to her father, the two men don't talk long before her father hangs up.
The daughter goes with some guards to meet her father but instead of her father being there it’s the friend. The friend starts telling her that the brother’s family is the reason why her older brother is dead and that he has proof in his car. The daughter and one of her guards follow the friend to his car where the proof is supposed to be but he drags her into the car. Another man of the friends shoots the guard and she bust her friend’s nose with her head before feeling a needle being poked into her.
She wakes up in a room and she starts throwing up after going to the bathroom she tries to get her head from swimming. The daughter finds out that her friend has been helping the cartel boss with money and that he wants her to be with him. While he’s gone she breaks out of the room that the friend was holding her up in and maneuvers her way to the friend’s office where she calls her husband and once done talking to him she talks to the family’s tech man who she helps him into getting the information on the friends computer. While the tech man gets the information the friend along with the cartel boss shows up. The two men are furious that the daughter is in there but the friend tries to smooth everything over. Soon the brother comes with several others. The brother shoots both the cartel boss and the friend.
They find out that the cartel boss has taken money from several mafia organizations, even one that her family is an ally to so they inform them first before informing the rest he took money from. The couple is having dinner at their place with both families invited. The two older men talk as well as the brother’s mother to the daughter’s father.
The couple goes to a gala in Italy for the organization that they helped get their money back. The head of the organization lets them use their island home for a honeymoon. The couple has sex and during this time they have the artifact on them, They are to return it to its rightful place.
When they get back from their honeymoon the daughter along with her brother go to take the artifact back. When the couple are back together they have sex.
This is an suspenseful, intriguing, action pact, mafia steamy love story and has a happy ever after ending that you won’t want to put down which has outstanding characters in it as well.

This novel had everything you’d expect in a mafia romance novel…and then some;
• Forced proximity
• Enemies to lovers
• Scottish banter (with interpretation) was something I was not expecting but thoroughly enjoyed!
• Mild violence, but never against the women or children
• Shoot-outs, attacks, abductions
• Incredibly wicked & delicious spice that’s perfectly placed throughout the novel.
• Excellently crafted storyline that keeps you enthralled
• Most importantly - an HEA 😍
I truly could not put this book down ❤️

The main characters develop beautifully and honestly it was made to feel natural! There were definitely a couple of unexpected twists I didn’t see coming.

Pure genius writing 🙌🏼

What I liked- Oh, Arianna, you did it again! You made me expand my list of book boyfriends (by now it’s a harem, or, rather, a hizem). Dougal is super hot and his penchant for a certain erotic act is commendable (as is his enthusiasm for “dining” al fresco) and makes for extremely spicy zexytime.
I love the blend of action, romance, and humor. Those chapter subtitles are everything. I spit out my drink when Dougal thought of a creatively diabolical way of getting back at Lachlan. The pace is fast and the story never gets boring. This is one of those books that made me stay up past my bedtime because I couldn’t put it down.
And the Firearms! Many romances have Arm P0rn; this book also has Arms P0rn. When I read Chapter 25, I think I squeed myself. I saw a picture once of an engraved Jones Deluxe, and it truly is a thing of beauty. Isla’s reactions are priceless (especially when she starts to pet one of the guns “like it’s a baby kitten”). Her facility with the weaponry was brilliant and I loved the shoutout to the Ares Academy series. She’s a total Badsass (you might be surprised by how many words different websites *cough* Amazon *cough* consider to be profanity. My response? “Hold my beer….”).
I enjoyed this book and I heartily recommend it. Along with all of Arianna’s books. I would chain her to her computer to get her to write 24/7, but I can’t. I don’t have that kind of bail money….
What I didn’t like- this book makes me jealous. I want a firearms room and indoor range for Christmas, okay Santa? I’d promise that I’d a good girl, but I don’t want to go to Hell for lying. There are so many other reasons why I’m likely to go there, not the least of which is what I’d like to get up to with these zexy MacTavish brothers. Imagine being on the menu at one of their family reunions… *sigh*.

Isla Blackwood has a bone to pick with the MacTavishes, one that’s been ingrained in her since she was a bairn. Her father hates the family and so too does she and her brother. She’s never questioned why her family and the MacTavishes are enemies, but she loves and admires her father so she figures he must have his reasons and they’re good enough for her.

The Blackwoods’ main business is jewelry and Isla is one of the best infiltrators of her family, in with ease and speed, grab the valuables and out before anyone knows what’s been lifted or replaced.

That is until the sharp-eyed, arrogant Dougal MacTavish. Out of all the MacTavishes he is the worst thorn in her side, probably because he’s foiled her plans a time or two. He’s also one of the most handsome and sexy men she’s ever known.

Isla’s latest job runs her afoul of the MacTavish clan in a major way when she steals a secret box from a safe during a gala at the clan’s stronghold. She thinks she’s home free until she’s stopped at the front gates for her truck to be searched. Dougal intimately goes a step further to uncover her disguise and search her before taking Isla into custody.

Dougal is given an ultimatum by his father on what to do with the beautiful thief – end her, or marry her. You can guess what he chooses.

With shades of Romeo and Juliet energy, Illicit is another raucous and fun installment in The MacTavish Stolen Brides Series. My new book bae, Dougal is so hot and naughty with a tendency toward freaky and rough between the sheets and feisty Isla is more than a match for him in the sheets and out.

I enjoyed this second book in the series even more than the first and am looking forward to reading the rest.

If you’re a fan of carnal and morally gray MMCs and a fast-paced enemies-to-lovers, found family romance full of backstabbing and criminal intrigue, then this book is for you.

First of all.... this cover is amazing.

Book 2 of the MacTavish Stolen Brides Series.
A Scottish mafia romance revolving around Dougal and Isla.

Isla Blackwood is the daughter of the head of the Blackwood family. She was sent on an under cover mission by her father to a MacTavish event in order to steal a priceless item. Things don't go as planned and Isla finds herself at the mercy of the devastatingly gorgeous Dougal MacTavish. Not long after getting caught, Isla finds herself held captive in a hunting lodge.

Dougal, faced with 2 options, kill her or keep her decides on the latter. After explaining to his less than enthusiastic fiance the severity of her crime which would under normal circumstances be punishable by death, he elaborates the importance of a union in order to bring a truce between the 2 families. It was after all the Blackwoods who broke the long standing truce in the first place. With all the facts laid out to her, she unwillingly agrees to the marriage.

Newly wed, the "happy"couple find that there is more going on between their families than meets the eye. Their fathers, the heads of their respective families, together held a sinister secret. A secret so big, it could destroy both families.

An action packed read where loyalty and trust is tested...... repeatedly, sworn enemies become allies and hate turns into the strongest love.

The FMC in this book is a strong independent woman who can stand up in a gun fight. A trained professional sniper and extremely intelligent, Isla is my favorite FMC of all Arianna Frasers books.

An enemies to lovers, forced marriage, Scottish Mafia romance that can be read as a stand alone.

Would I recommend this book? ABSOLUTELY

Happy reading

His turn by MeemsAngel82

What a fun romp! I am loving this series, like there was ever a doubt and this book was fantastic. You don't have to read a previous book to enjoy this one but this is about the same family and I for one adore this family and having them fall in love with their perfect matches one by one? Love it! Here we have a strong woman who is more than a match for her H. They have such sparks and she is a clever one!

They had it out for one another didn't they? Maybe not as it seems there are people out there against both of their families.

A very skilled and fearless woman deserves a foul mouthed sexy man for her, and us, to enjoy! Ha! I was laughing my butt off right from the start. What a strong one she is. I love that and love how her personality is so heated when tested against his. Even with her own family she has a potty mouth of her own and joined up with this man?! Good choice he made there, like there was any other! A delightful addition to this family, both her and this book! I just love these brothers and cannot wait for the next one! You did it again!

Sworn enemies Ilsa Blackwood and Dougal Mactavish were supposed to carry on the next generation of their family's feud. But it was not long before master thief Ilsa became the owner of Dougal Mactavish's heart even though Dougal would have happily surrendered to the little robber who captured him from the start.

Fiery interactions and smoldering kisses took on a life of their own as Ilsa and Dougal fell hard into their desire. This was no gentle love affair but one of clashing wits and battles of wills. Very little didn't set this couple off, instead of pushing each other away it increased their attraction eventually opening their eyes to the truth of their growing feelings that were not hate but love. Exciting suspense and romance were wonderfully balanced in this story by this author. Fun family dynamics kept the pages spirited for an all around great story!

Arianna Fraser books are synonymous with saucy repartee, breath taking chemistry and edge of your seat action. Fast paced romantic adventure at its best is this author's strength and it is impossible not to fall under her writing's spell. Brazenly decadent Arianna Fraser's Illicit should be right next to the chocolate on readers' perfect night in with their new favorite book!

*While this story can be read as a standalone, reading the previous books in this series would enhance the overall reading experience of this work.*

Why are Scotsmen so blasted sexy? There's a scene in the book where all the MacTavish men are lined up for a party, in their kilts and black dress jackets and it's possible I had a maidenly swoon.

There's just something about a stolen bride story... especially when she's stolen by someone as smoking hot as Dougal MacTavish. Isla Blackwood's clan hates the MacTavish's, and so you know the deep enmity between them is going to make for some fireworks between Dougal and Isla, and boy howdy, does it! The fighting and the clever repartee is almost as good as the sex. And the sex is very, VERY good.

I love a book where the MMC and WMC are smart as well as sexy, so this book is so much fun to read!

Arianna Fraser's Stolen Brides Series is simply amazing. These books are so much fun to read. They combine dangerous, the impossible and side-splitting comedy that work somehow and, against all odds, always ends up equaling romance and steamy love. The MacTavish family of men are all huge, muscular, 6'6" in height or slightly less. They fear nothing, are hugely alpha in temperament yet so kind, gentle and protective of their women. In book two Dougal captures Isla in the midst of a robbery in his family’s mansion so what does he do? In true MacTavish fashion and tradition, he takes her away to an isolated hunting lodge and marries her. Against her will, of course. They must then navigate together all the dangers posed by outside forces that want to destroy both their families.

Aaaand, she does it again! Arianna Fraser writes a heck of a story that stands well on it's own but is even better because of the guest appearances of family members and others that we've read about in previous series. I really like Isla, she's a firecracker! She and Dougal are a match made in (let me think about this....) Scotland?? She may be a Bessie, but she's the perfect compliment to Douglas, and their unconventional marriage and relationship cracked me up! Action of the 007 type, 'witty' Scottish euphemisms and swoon-worthy characters will make you devour the pages, and once you start reading, you won't be able to stop until the end!.

Absolutely loved this Arianna Fraser novel. Every one of her books are filled with well constructed characters; morally gray men and strong women. You see their struggles and watch their relationships grow. She successfully pulls you into their world and stories.

Ms Fraser also does a wonderful job of including casual Scottish slang and providing definitions throughout the book. She has always been brilliant in her research for her books. I was on the edge of my seat at times and laughing my butt off the next!

I highly recommend this book as well as all of her other ones.

This is a great one, the plot and characters are very well written.

An action packed read where loyalty and trust is tested, repeatedly, sworn enemies become allies and hate turns into the strongest love.

Isla is a strong independent woman who can stand up in a gun fight.

An enemies to lovers, forced marriage, Scottish Mafia romance that can be read as a stand alone.

And it contains everything I have come to love about Arianna's great stories.

Suspense, humour and romance 😍😍💕💕💕😘😘😘
