Book 2 of the Thistle Field Estate Bed & Breakfast

When the bride's best friend and the groom's younger brother's meet-cute is falling into a closet together. What could go wrong? Apparently everything.

Maid of Honor Angela Hankin shows up just moments before her best friend Chloe's Scottish wedding. Instead of helping the bride get ready for her big day, she ends up dragging a rather delectable Scotsman into the nearest utility closet after they experience some forced proximity in the hallway. Imagine her horror when she's paired up to walk down the aisle with the same man that she's now intimately familiar with.

Ian Mackenzie is a man down on his luck. After a rather nasty and expensive divorce, he had to move back home to his parents' Scottish bed and breakfast estate. While still reeling from the trauma of being cheated on, he's standing by his older brother, Alec's, side as Best Man. The last thing he expected at the wedding was to be dragged off by a bossy brunette to have her way with him.

Angela and Ian need to work together to keep the bed and breakfast's operations flowing smoothly while Chloe and Alec are on their honeymoon. Unable to deny their electric chemistry together, the two continue to fall into each others' arms. Time and time again only for it to erupt into embarrassing chaos. Not just once. But multiple times. Can the two ever agree there's something beyond their hook-ups or will they part ways after they've had their fun?

I've been some semblance of a writer since 1st grade. That was when I first tasted the delight of getting a book published and reading it aloud to the class with rave reviews. What a power trip for a 7-year-old.

It wasn't until 7th grade that I was highly encouraged by my English teacher to continue writing poetry outside of class assignments. From there I moved on to Literary Club in 8th grade and added short stories to my repertoire.

When high school came around, that was when I discovered the wondrous world of FanFiction. It all went downhill from that point. Numerous teachers in high school loved my work and submitted some of my (safe) pieces for publication. My teachers were the reason that I told myself,

"I can do this. I can be a published author one day."

In college, the trend continued but I pursued a career path in the design sector and writing went on the back burner. That is until a month after THE GREATEST EXPERIENCE OF MY LIFE, in 2022, I decided to start writing once again. It started with FanFic after FanFic, fast and furious.

Writing is my passion, my escape. Always has been, always will be.

I absolutely adored the second book of the Thistle Field Estate Bed & Breakfast duo. Ian and Angela had the best couple storyline and that they helped each other overcome their trauma. As always, K. Iwancio delivers another book that I didn’t want to put down. I can’t wait for her next one. 😊

Heat Rating: 4/5 🌶️

What to Expect:
- Best Friend's Brother-in-Law
- Wedding Meet Cute
- Forced Proximity
- Scottish Bed & Breakfast

- Feisty & Confident FMC

Breakfast in Bed is the second book in the Thistle Field Estate Bed & Breakfast series. I have not read book one; thus, this is my introduction to any previously mentioned characters.

This book is about Angela and Ian. Their journey starts with Angela pulling Ian into a closet at a Scottish wedding. There is nothing better than a story that begins with some instant heat. Angela is Chloe's maid of honor. She is a strong, independent, feisty attorney. Ian is the younger brother of Alec, the groom. He is dealing with life post-divorce and lives with his parents at their bed & breakfast in Scotland. While Chloe and Alec are away on their honeymoon for two weeks, Angela and Ian volunteer to help with the bed & breakfast.

There is a lot to like about this story. I enjoyed the characters, the chemistry & banter between Angela and Ian, and the setting. I love how their relationship had a chaotic start. I always enjoy reading about strong FMCs, like Angela. I liked how the characters got past their issues, found love again, and got their happily ever after. Although I enjoyed the heat, this story had more heat than plot. Outside of their physical connection, the characters didn't seem to connect on any other level. There were mentions of them having deeper conversations, but there was no development of those conversations for readers. Overall, this was a good read, but I needed more from the characters.

🌶🌶🌶🌶

Such a cute, quirky and spicy read. Honestly starts with a bang ( pun intended) and only goes up from there.

This is a second book in the series, but can be read as a standalone. But if Alec is anything like his brother I'm going to have to circle around and read his book.

Angela and Ian have chemistry right from the closet, there is no slow burn in this book. If you're looking for a contemporary romance this book isn't it, it's full of the good stuff.

What to expect/ Tropes
- Scots in Kilts
- Grooms Brother
- Set in scotland
- Forced Proximity
- 🏳️‍🌈 FMC
- Cinnamon roll / golden retriever MMC

This is the first book in a LONG time to grab me on PAGE 1
and never let go!!! The characters were relatable in so many ways and the spice was ON POINT! There was humor on every page and the witty dialogue between the FMC and MMC was everything you could ask for in a rom-com. I couldn’t put this one down.

Breakfast in Bed by K. Iwancio

5/5 ⭐️
5/5 🌶️ for the smut

Tropes:
* Blind hookup
* LGBTQ+ Rep 🏳️‍🌈
* Forced Proximity
* Best friends brother-in-law
* Cinnamon roll MMC
* Badass FMC

Quick thoughts:
Listen when I started this book I knew it was going to be good from the smut on the first page, are you kidding? We have a confident and feisty FMC who is very dominant and a sweet Scottish boy who is post divorce who IS A SWITCH. Mix all that together with a meddling mother and a meddling cow and you get Angela and Ian’s story. This story has great banter, found family, and a lot of smut. I loved the back and forth between Angela and Ian however I nearly panicked towards the end but I guess you’ll have to read the book to know why. 👀

Happy Pride 🏳️‍🌈

First and foremost, I adored this book and the journey it took me on. It had me from moment one. And I mean it, truly... this book starts off with a bang! 😉

Every time I read a K. Iwancio book, I think I'm prepared for the spice, and each time I find myself so beautifully unprepared.

When you're going to write a book about Angela though... I think it truly HAS to be spicy. Because she is! She's one of a kind, and I think we all deserve to have someone in our lives like her. She's witty and funny. She's clever and demanding yet willing to be open minded for the right circumstances. She's a force to be reckoned with, and overall she's just human. Just a girl figuring out her life!

I can't say enough great things about how Angela is written. The way that LGBTQIA+ is discussed throughout the novel also sits very sweetly on my heart. I liked that Angela's fluidity was not problematic.

And Ian is feisty in his own right and it SHOWS. Ma and Da Mackenzie certainly raised their boys to be smooth. 🤣 Compassion and understanding mixed with kindness and a Scottish accent sure went a long way for these American girlies.

And to think back to where this all started! They all sure came a long way. They put in the hard work to reach that full potential. The thought and consideration that was put into these characters is *chefs kiss*. You can tell they were written from a place of love.

I truly adore that throughout this novel, these characters are just discovering each other. Letting themselves be fully present and engaged. I loved that there wasn't a moment in the book where they lost themselves or left their journey of learning about one another. I'm grateful they didn't have to fall apart to fall back together. It made them feel so real.

I loved this novel more than I can say. And I loved Angela and Ian more than I could have imagined. This story was spicy and sweet in all of the best ways! Definitely a great way to continue the Bed... And Breakfast journey, and to give us a little more of Chloe and Alec throughout it too! ☺️

It's a big win in my eyes! ❤️

Tropes:

Breakfast in Bed is Book 2 in the Thistle Field Estate Bed & Breakfast Series. You don't necessarily have to read the first book, but I highly recommend reading both books. You will meet the FMC in book one, as well as the MMC.

Angela arrives in Scotland at the Bed & Breakfast where her best friend is getting married. She is the Maid of Honor. Due to work obligations as a lawyer, Angela couldn't fly in the night before. She bumps into a sexy Scotsman (Ian) in the hallway and pulls him into a utility closet. Being quite assertive, you can imagine what was going on in there. A little while later, Angela makes it to Chloe and finishes up getting ready for the ceremony. That is where Ian, the groom's brother, comes into the picture. Ian is the Best Man, and he is paired with Angela, who is now completely flabbergasted that Ian is the groom's little brother. She is determined to never let anything happen between them again. But little does she know that Ian will be taking care of Alec's estate chores and Angela will be taking care of Chloe's tasks.
Ian & Angela try and fail at avoiding each other and fighting their feelings. It doesn't help that Ian has a meddling mother.

Angela and Ian were a fun duo to read about. They both have baggage. Angela is smart, feisty, and hilarious. Ian is a sweet sensitive man who needs to be loved for who he is.
One of my absolute favorite parts about this book (and the previous book) is how the Author incorporates the Gaelic language. Overall, a sweet, spicy and fun book.

Breakfast in Bed serves up a deliciously entertaining romp through the Thistle Field Estate Bed & Breakfast, where love is brewing alongside the morning coffee.

Angela, the fierce attorney with a no-strings-attached attitude, finds herself in a hilariously sticky situation with Ian, fresh from the fallout of a messy divorce. Their accidental rendezvous in a closet sets off a chain of events that's as chaotic as it is captivating.

The chemistry between Angela and Ian is hotter than a fresh batch of pancakes on a Sunday morning. Their electric connection crackles off the pages, making every moment they share a tantalizing delight.

But it's not just their romance that keeps the pages turning—it's the meddling family members and the bed and breakfast hijinks that add a delightful layer of chaos. From embarrassing mishaps to unexpected alliances, there's never a dull moment at Thistle Field.

Even if you haven't checked into the series from the beginning, Breakfast in Bed is a standalone treat that will leave you hungry for more. So grab your favorite blanket and settle in for a breakfast-themed rom-com that's as sweet as syrup and twice as satisfying!

K. Iwancio is becoming one of my favorite romcom authors! I loved Book 2 of the Thistle Field Estate Bed & Breakfast series! Angela was such a fun fmc! She was so honest and unabashedly herself. I love that Ian got the redemption arc he deserved. Ian grew into a strong mmc who was so attentive & kept Angela on her toes. I loved their chemistry and would totally love to see their characters in a movie!

Appreciation post for my favorite character: Mama McKenzie! She was hilarious & all of my favorite parts in the book included her… the gardening scene, baking bread with ghosts, & of course the Ian wake up scene. She literally had me laughing out loud!

The only thing I felt the book was missing, was the behind the scenes for what happened leading up to the wedding closet scene. I wanted the full play-by-play for how Ian and Angela met and the lead up to her dragging him to the closet.

Tropes: My Best Friend’s Wedding. BFF/Brother. Forced proximity. Instant spice 🥵. Hottie in a kilt. Dominant female. Outlander references. LGBTQIA representation.

I am currently reading Bed and Breakfast (book 1) and I read this one first (book two), but let me tell you, that did not stop me from enjoying this book so very much.

Angela and Ian are just so delicious. There's something about a successful woman who knows what she wants and takes it. Ian is so freaking sweet and amazing and his past (explained in detail in Book 1 it seems) seems like it's going to break my heart, but knowing how it ends for him in this book makes me excited to go back and see how it all started for him.

All of K's books are spicy and sweet and the perfect thing to break up thrillers or dark romance. The banter in all of her books is top notch and makes me smile so much my cheeks hurt by the end of the book.

Thank you K. Iwancio for the ARC.

This book was another that I had a hard time putting down. (My apologies to my boss!) I loved Angela and Ian as a couple. Their back and forth with a little family meddling was electric. I really enjoyed the playfulness of this book that brought out one of my favorite tropes, brother and best friend.

Angela is a certified badass and Ian has been put through the ringer by his ex. Are they a match made in hell or heaven?

I loved the laughs, spice, lows and highs in this book. It had me from page one!!!

Another great read from K. Iwancio!!

Yes ma’am!!!!! Thank you K. Iwancio for this beautiful book!!! Ian is a broken man that has endured years of emotional abuse from the ex from hell. She took advantage of him emotionally and financially. Angela is Chloe’s best friend. So, if you read book 1 of this series, you’ve met her! Angela is feisty, bossy, smart, and a closet softy!! Angela holds Ian up in ways he didn’t know he needed. Ian provides Angela with soft places to be vulnerable and fills a need for family that she didn’t know she was really missing out on.

I loved watching the romance unfold between these two! So many mishaps and awkward moments created some truly laugh out loud moments while reading this book!

“Be my guest, lass. The goddess seated on her throne is welcome to enjoy anything she desires.” 😍😍😍

“I drank her in deep, like a desperate man at the edge of a desert, parched from the unrelenting sun. Connecting to this woman was like the lightening before the thunder. An electric current that ran from the heavens straight to my rooted feet.”

I mean the word smithing that was put into this book!! 🤌🏻🤌🏻

Also, mind the first chapter. It starts with a bang 😉

🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️ spicy romcoms are the best version!!!

Well I gobbled this book right up!!

4🌶️!! Lots and lots of spice and Chapter 21!!!!!!! 🥵

Book two follows Ian and Angela …. Brother and Best friend from the characters of the last book.

Ian is recovering from one heck of a devil ex wife. She took him for all he was worth and he landed back at his parents bed and breakfast while he tried to get his bearings again.

Angela came back out to once again be Chloe’s bridesmaid. Her dream is to become partner at her law firm she’s been working at for years. She’s agreed to stay for 2 weeks to help Mrs. Mackenzie around the b&b in Chloe’s absence.

Angela and Ian meet and have a good go of things before knowing who the other is. And after finding out it’s a hilarious story! No matter where they go for fun embarrassment is sure to follow EVERY TIME! They also have to work out their own feelings and of course Angela will eventually have to explain her past relationships as they’ve not always been with men.

Well written, spicier than the first book, hilarity in every chapter… I loved their story!!

Such a sweet and easy read! Angela and Ian have a refreshingly honest and relatable relationship. I love that things start by chance, and these two find each other in the middle of where life has brought them. They are complex and have their own hang-ups when it comes to love and commitment, but I love how genuinely surprised they are by each other. The pull is undeniable, the chemistry is electrically charged, and the banter is easy and witty.

A real feel-good, fast burn, surprised by love sort of story that leaves you with a sweet but realistic HEA.

Spice: 🌶️🌶️🌶️

I loved Ian and Angela...... I just had to start with that.

Another perfectly written book by K. Iwancio, you won't be able to resist falling in love with every character in this story. It starts off with spice from the first chapter and stays steady throughout.

Angela is in Scotland for her best friend's wedding, but immediately pulls Ian into a closet to get frisky. She later finds out that he's the groom's brother, and that he'll be helping around the BnB that she's staying at after the wedding as well. Through the instant attraction they try to, at first, ignore it though they can't keep their hands off each other. Eventually with the idea that they can keep their affair under wraps, they agree to see where it goes, as long as nobody finds out because they don't want to strain any of their relationships within the family.

I loved that throughout the book, when dealing with uncertainties, Ian and Angela would reach out to her best friend and his brother for advice. I enjoyed there wasn't any unnecessary drama, and how they figured out their long distance relationship regardless of the distance.

K. Iwancio does such a great job conveying each and every character, and making them so loveable, realistic, and enjoyable that you're routing for them right away.

Ohhhhhh man! The way I took my time with this one and savored it! 🥰🥰🥰 in book one you catch a glimpse of Angela the best friend to Chloe and then Ian, the brother of Alec. Although Angela is on good terms, Ian had been seen more of a backstabbing character. This book starts out with explaining some of Ian’s struggles with marriage and divorce and the toxic disease named Ava. As the story goes on you really feel so heartbroken for Ian, and all that he went through. Cue Angela! Unlike Ava, Angela is a ball of sunshine and quick wit! A badass Lawyer with a dirty mouth. I absolutely LIVED for the banter that bloomed between Ian and Angela! My heart fluttered as I read every spicy moment between them as well! 🥵🥵🥵 Everything was so well written that I felt like I was reading a true story! Ian definitely gives his brother a run for his money. If I had to pick a brother it would be hard, but Ian would be my choice for sure! Seeing his loving, and caring side along with his sexual appetite when it came to Angela, just made me blush and feel all the feels! And did I mention their BANTER?!?! Omg sooooo good!

Must read!!!! 10/10!!!

Oh my gosh this was absolutely adorable, I loved every minute of reading this. I finished it in half a day! Such a charming story and I'm really struggling to understand why the heck this and the first book, Bed...& Breakfast aren't movies?? :p This book definitely made me want to drop everything and move to the highlands of Scotland!
I love a good strong FMC in books so I loved that Angela was a strong independent, successful lawyer who was happy and fine on her but but couldn't help falling for the adorable Scotsman but because she needed a man but because she wanted to give in to what her heart wanted for once instead of her head. I also loved that she wasn't straight and that she was able to educate the MMC about pansexuality. You don't often see that so I thought that was great. Ian was a lovely character as well, I loved that he was the sweet innocent, slightly inexperienced one between the two. Most of the time its the FMC who is, so I enjoyed the role reversal.
Also being a massive Outlander fan, I squealed when the term Sassenach was mentioned haha. Absolutely loved everything about it and would recommend it to anything looking for a quick easy, lighthearted romance to read!

This book started off with a bang and didn’t stop! The spice level is 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️. I absolutely loved reading the story of Angela and Ian. The way they went from not knowing who each other was to head over heals for each other in a matter of days was a story that’s pretty relatable for a lot of people. I love how you just added that in there. I also love how they thought they were being sneaky, but a mother always knows. Mrs. Mackenzie was hilarious with her little comments. I also real liked the way that Ian and Angela just trusted each other, and were able to just be themselves when it came to sexy time. There was no judgment or nope I’m not doing that, it was always ok sure let’s keep going. My favorite quote from the book is near the end and it says “Ye found me when I was broken. Ye took the time to help me find all the right pieces to make me who I really am. I realized that without you, I’m only half of myself. You…. You are the rest of me”.

Ian is genually a good guy, and is very sweet also. He had been taken advantadge by his ex in the past, but that didn't stoped him for falling head over heals, and falling first for Angela.
Angela is a independent pansexual woman, who believes she is fine on her own. After all her greatest relationship is her job.
When she hooks up with Ian before (and after) her best friend's wedding and realises he is her best friend brother in law, she tries to get her atraction to him in a box,  because he is off limits, after all!.
Well, nothing goes to plan to eather of them, as they have to help at the B&B during their friends/family honeymoon.
There is a lot of smutyness from chapter 1 and forward, since they can get enough of each other.
The atraction and affection grows, and their banter is quite funny.

Angela is on her way to her best friend’s wedding when she’s pushed up on a handsome man in the hallway and decides to pull him into a utility closet for a quick spicy time before walking down the aisle. Only to see him again a few minutes later when she discovers that he’s the best man and the groom’s brother, Ian. When she stays to take her best friend’s place running the Scottish BnB while the newlyweds are on their honeymoon the chemistry between Angela and Ian is undeniable and there are plenty more hot and spicy interactions even though they try to fight it.

Loved this so much! Such a nice cozy, spicy, Scottish highlands BnB dream book. Angela and Ian are such fun characters and the pansexual representation was soo amazing. Can we get ten more books of Angela and Ian…and maybe a couple more of Chloe and Alec too but mostly Angela and Ian.

4.5 🌟 🤩 (Rounded up for GR)

"Maybe it's the science....we are testing a theory after all" "Then I really hope you get down on your knees and test another one" 🔥

Love Love loved this book! It has so much spice and everything nice you'd want out of a Scottish based rom-com.

This book is for you if you want:
- 🌶 🌶🌶🌶 (in the first chapter!)
- Soft dom/switch represented
- Pansexual represented
- Scottish characters that have actual accents
- Funny & cute rom-com feels
- Cute climax without any miscommunication tropes as plot twists

.5 less of a star as sometimes the writing was slightly repetitive that would take me out of the story at times.

Would recommend this read to those looking for a feel good, spicy rom-com 💖

Y'all...10/10!! I loved this book. K. Iwancio does not disappoint. If you want spice, there's spice. If you want humor, there's humor. If you want a cinnamon roll Scotsman, there's a cinnamon roll Scotsman.

K. Iwancio's style of writing is so fun. There's a casualness to it that makes it flow nicely and kept me grinning the entire time. Her writing reminds me of Meghan Quinns. I love that she didn't spend ages describing a scene and the book moved at a solid pace.

I read this book as fast as possible (life with 2 under 2 does not leave much down time). It's been awhile since I've actually been excited to read but the Thistle Field Estate Bed and Breakfast series has helped revive my love for reading.

Angela & Ian ❤️‍🔥

“There was a seemingly effortless elegance about her, well until her mouth opened, and delicious filth spewed forth.”

“Oh, she was getting breakfast in bed all right. Sausage and a protein shake, coming right up.”

Okay. I thought I loved Chloe and Alec in book 1.
BUT IAN AND ANGELA?! DANG.
The wildly funny banter, flirting and internal dialogues had me SO happy.
Love an 🏳️‍🌈 FMC who is so secure in her sexuality, and a MMC who isn’t intimidated or scared off by it. LOVED. THIS!! Then Ian coming into his own sexuality after his horrible divorce/ex… *chefs kiss*. Love a switch
I think I need a Mrs Mackenzie in my life. Where ya momma at Alec & Ian!?

What can I say? After devouring the first in the series in 2 days, I was eager to start this one. I certainly wasn't disappointed. As a Brit with a thing for Scottish men (think Highlander), this definitely hit the spot. The story is absolutely cute, such a build up. You can feel the two characters fighting the inevitable. It does feel a little hallmark but I personally love it. Personal highlights for me were a bit of kilt fun, a spicy rain scene that got me all flustered and a very cheeky cow making an appearance. Honestly I cannot recommend this more. Definitely gonna gift it to a friend on release

Book 2 of the Thistle Field Estate series was absolutely perfect!!

Alec and Chloe's story was my first book from K after winning my first ever PR Package!!

They pulled me into their crazy Scottish family and I DEVOURED every morsel.

When I found out we were getting a book 2, I was so excited I couldn't stand it!!

Between Angela's fear of commitment and Ian's emotional wreckage from his failed marriage to the she-devil, they both ignore fate for as long as they can.

The way I absolutely adore Mrs MacKenzie is just 😗🤌🏻 I love her readings and her meddling!!

Love love love love them!!

4.5 stars…

The second book in the Thistle Fields Estate Bed & Breakfast duology was absolutely fantastic. It was very cute and spicy. It was hot and extremely lovely. I just adore the strong assertive female main character despite her small size. I really really adore Ian, and he is such a golden retriever. If you enjoy a really charming, adorable rom-com, I wholeheartedly suggest reading the two books in the duology series. As I read this book, I can't help but visualise the male main character's Scottish accent.

Big thank you to the author.

A book that starts off spicy is always good! And the spice is really good! Throughout the whole book! Even with birthcontrol. Something that is quite rare unfortunately!

I would have loved a bit more gaelic and the ending was a bit rushed, imo. The characters were lovable and I would have liked to see more of Brianna MacKenzie and her meddling.

But what made me give this book 5 stars? The way the author describes her fmc‘s pansexuality! I‘ve never read anything so amazingly described! Especially as pan characters are so rare in books. I finally felt seen!

Holy spice!!! If spicy romances are your thing then this book is for you! These are probably some of the best written spice scenes I’ve read in a while! What I love the most is that they also use contraception every time!
Don’t get me wrong, it’s not just a spicy book with no plot, it’s a book with lots of plot and lots of spice. The characters are all really loveable but I think the mum is my favourite, she’s just adorable!! I would also really like to live on their estate and will happily help her with the baking!

Second instalment of the series, with the best friend and brother of the main characters from book 1.
Spicy sweet romance set in the Scottish countryside. A chance encounter turns awkward and then the two main characters have to decide if they want each other enough in the face of disapproving friends and family.

Conversations took a minute to get used to, with the strong Scottish accent, but there was more sauce than talking! 😏

Easy read for the romance lovers
