Alex, Cassidy, Candace, Jameson, Claire, and Eleana return for a new adventure that combines two best-selling series by Nancy Ann Healy (JA Armstrong), Alex and Cassidy and By Design.
Two families caught in the crossfire of an international conspiracy dating back to World War II must work together to secure the future of democracy. One family is born into a web of spies, and the other is embedded in politics. Neither knows the truth about their inherited legacy—a legacy that stretches decades into the past and is littered with lies and betrayal.
Alex Toles and Claire Brackett were once considered unlikely partners at "the company," a code word for the CIA. Now, the pair are family—trusted allies on a mission to uncover the truth about the origins of "the company." The path leads to an intricate network of corporate, government, military, and private interests whose mission is to claim power at any cost. They aim to compromise the US president and take over by infiltrating governments and industries.
Alex remains at The White House, advising President Candace Reid and investigating Candace's political opponent, Lawson Klein. Claire takes on the CEO role at Carecom Industries, a corporation with connections to global medical technology, energy resources, and bio-engineering companies. As the past collides with the present, the Toles and Reid families unite, unraveling both allies' and foes' hidden agendas and true identities. Wars have many faces. The quest to safeguard the future for the people they love requires one thing above all else—FEALTY.
Prepare yourself, you will need snacks, refreshments and a do not disturb sign. You are not going to want to move or be interrupted once you start this book by Nancy Ann Healy. I started the book a couple of hours after it was released and read through the night until finishing early this morning. From the first chapter you are pulled into Alex, Cassidy, Eleana, Claire, Candace and Jameson's world. With all the trials these characters face, Healy highlights the importance of family. She shows her characters so much love and it shows through the pages and the live they have for each other. I absolutely adore the characters in this book as we continue to follow their journey. We have a cliffhanger that leaves us wanting for more. I look forward to the next installment of the series.
Nancy Ann Healy has crafted another installment of her Alex and Cassidy series, which crosses over with her By Design series written under her pen name of JA Armstrong.
Both series feature some of the strongest, most intelligent, loyal, supportive, and influential women in sapphic fiction. And intermingled with the lead characters are their children, colleagues, and extended family members.
What’s especially rewarding about the author’s storytelling is the effort she puts into portraying people, including sweet, sensitive Cooper, J.D. and Candace’s adopted son, and Mackenzie, Alex and Cassidy’s commanding, creative daughter, on whom Cooper has a crush.
Fealty takes readers deeper into the covert and conspiratorial world of The Collaborative, an association of men who prioritize power over wealth, country, system Ms of government, and most tragically, family.
Especially sinister are The Collaborative’s undercover biological and genetic projects, which the characters of Fealty are shocked to learn more about.
At the end of Fealty, Healy/Armstrong suggests the order in which to read all the books in the two series to best understand how the stories intersect.
Each of the books is a winner. All together, they provide hours of engagement, total immersion in a remarkable sapphic community, insights into wonderful, warm family and WLW relationships, and well scripted sex scenes.
I read this installment in one day. I couldn’t put it down and here’s why, the characters and the flow of the storyline. These books read like a miniseries on the screen in my mind. The story flows, it carries us along with the characters as we follow their ups and downs. Through the good and the bad times Nancy’s writing carries us along. The love that she writes in her stories shines through on every page. The passion and fire in her character’s intimate scenes is amazing. The squirm level is very high in this one. Overall, the storyline is engaging and will keep you reading. Secrets keep coming into the light, with more to come I’m sure. The book is edited well and as I said above, it reads like a movie. I’m now impatiently waiting for the next installment. Thank you, Nancy for keeping these characters alive for all of us to enjoy!
Why do these books have to end. I started out reading the By Design series and dismissed this series as it seemed a bit much, boy was I wrong. I personally think they add more substance and background to the other series. Every character has a place in these books, they are all part of what makes you keep turning the pages. You might think after so many years you’d get bored, or not care about this story. You would be wrong, so wrong. I can only imagine what’s yet to come. I just hope all the key characters make it to the end. I can’t wait for the next one, I know one day this set of books will end and I’ll be sad but the journey we have been on, and the ones yet to come makes it bearable.
As Alex and Cassidy help Candice and Jameson at the White House, they learn that Claire is Cassidy sister. The families are coming together to help each other learn what is happening and trying to figure out what Edmund and Jonathan had hidden. Candice is trying to get re elected and stay alive while Jameson is trying to keep the family together. A wonderful book to read and can't wait for the next book
I have loved following Alex and Cassidy throughout their time together. The relationships they have with Candace and Jamison as well as the other members of the family seem real. The added benefit to these stories is the background of mystery and attempts to change the world. Please keep the story going.
I loved this whole series. I am starting the "Candance & Jameson" series next.
I like that women are the heroes in these books, there is a little sex and a lot of intrigue. And, thanks for the order of books at the end. I went a little out of order. When is the follow-up to "Fealty" coming out? I want to know who "Archer" is???
A huge thank you to the authors for bringing all these casts of characters together. I love this series so much and I adore all the individuals that the authors brings to life in these stories. These authors are so wonderful. I love all their books, but especiallythese series. I can’t wait for the next chapter in their lives.
Nancy, you go girl! I can see all the hard work you put into this book. Keeping the characters going, and the story plot exciting had to have been a job. Thanks for your effort to bring us all such a great book. It's gonna be a tough act to follow.
So good. All the stores go together. Can't stop reading them. This is my third time reading the series. Fealty helps bring them together more. Can't wait for the next. Excellent. If I could give more than 5 stars, I would.
I've loved the "By Design" and the "Alex & Cassidy" series since I began reading them almost 9 years ago, so to have them merged is totally awesome and so fitting.
This series is riveting and riddled with intrigue and humanity. The characters continue to process and grow in knowledge and personal fortitude. Keep writing about Claire, Cassidy & Alex. They have become part of my world perception.
What an amazing cross over story. You out did yourself again and you truly don’t give yourself enough credit as an Amazing Author. I’ve followed both series and I love the banter, suspense, the thrill of the chase. I’m in Awe with your story telling. A standing ovation.
I enjoy Alex and Cass very much and this one had all the main characters plus . looking forward to the next in the series and how much the children play in the series
I am kind of heartbroken. The end is near. And the next is unknown. And that almost gives the entire series 4 stars.
I love the series. I hate that this was not on audio (not blaming the author for my eye disability). I don’t know when the next is coming. THAT hurts. Seriously a series over 10 years +++ isn’t fair to the loyal ones. It makes you start all over to figure out who is who. And rewriting a few initial books while not finishing the series feels like a slap in the face. I have spent over $200 on one (or 2 depending on if you follow recommended reading order which is now changing “because I can”) series. Like every audible credit for a year. And the books on kindle only I have to pay for 1 by one and suffer from text to voice which is so disgusting I can’t enjoy. I don’t have KU because I have vision issues. Writing this review makes me sick. I can’t look at electronic screens long.
Every person who can read or read and mix audio should enjoy the Cassidy and Alex series and the Candace and Jameson series. The mix is fun although I missed a lot of the kids growing up like I got to witness Dylan growing up. Then I remember Dylan attached to Alex but this book says everyone has their person and for Dylan that was his YaYa. What?!?!?! He hero-worshiped Alex since the day he met her and she was his everything. And now he doesn’t even want to live close to them?!?!?!
How this genius author kept all the people straight and the subplots were … brilliant and beautiful.
I am dying for the rest so I can retire the kindle and never use text to talk again. I would do it for no other author or series. Poor kindle. I never used it until I had to for the Cassidy and Alex series #7 and I can’t wait to never see it again.
No other author and maybe not this one. Since she doesn’t care to follow the order she asked us to follow or care I have no audible credits until next year. “Because she can.”
Which DOES NOT take away from the brilliance of the overall story that seems to be rushed just to be done now.
