The classic Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales, fully illustrated with beautiful original Arthur Rackham drawings/paintings. Quite possibly the greatest of all fairy tales, these are the timeless creations that have both excited the imagination and conveyed great meaning to millions of children (and no doubt millions of parents).

German philologist and folklorist Jakob Ludwig Karl Grimm in 1822 formulated Grimm's Law, the basis for much of modern comparative linguistics. With his brother Wilhelm Karl Grimm (1786-1859), he collected Germanic folk tales and published them as Grimm's Fairy Tales (1812-1815).
Indo-European stop consonants, represented in Germanic, underwent the regular changes that Grimm's Law describes; this law essentially states that Indo-European p shifted to Germanic f, t shifted to th, and k shifted to h. Indo-European b shifted to Germanic p, d shifted to t, and g shifted to k. Indo-European bh shifted to Germanic b, dh shifted to d, and gh shifted to g.
The ones by Rackham and those by Trina Schart-Hyman's illustrations for Snow White are the best in the old storybookish style that I love. Others I loved are the drawings for "Sleeping Beauty" and "The Goose Girl."
Overall, this was an entertaining and enjoyable collection of short Grimm Brothers fairy tales. Most are excellent; only a few miss the mark. No illustrations in the Kindle version, though.
Cinderella namanya Ashenputten (maaf kalau saya keliru. Namanya tidak familiar sih).
Belum-belum saya sudah kesal dengan Snowdrop. Masa nih cewek bodoh banget. Diperingatkan oleh para kurcaci supaya tidak bukain pintu buat orang asing, eh masih aja bukain pintu buat si Queen alias ibu tiri jahat yang nyamar jadi wanita tua. Begitu sampe tiga kali.
SNOWDROP: Snowdrop, or more commonly known today as Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. It begins with a mother wishing that her daughter would be beautiful, and so so she was. But when the mother died and the father remarried, the evil step mother is very vain and despises her lovely step daughter Snowdrop. It was a good story, one with memorable characters. MORAL: Don’t be vain or jealous. Kindness is more beautiful than physical beauty.[RATING: 4.5 STARS]
