First book on Janis I read! Have it in hard copy!

A ramshackle biography-cum-scrapbook from 1971 composed of relaxed interviews with Joplin from 1970 that probably would have continued if not for her death that fall, filled out by various Rolling Stone pieces, a hefty photo section and sheet music for some of her best-known songs. A curio, but as a fan I enjoyed this more than expected. Later reconsidered and rewritten as "Piece of My Heart."
