I’m trapped in my own body, a prisoner to my beast.
I’ve been stuck in my wolf form for so long, I can feel my soul slipping away with every passing second.

Until he finds me.

The one who sees the woman within. Who ignites a connection I’ve only dreamed of.
When he reaches for the last vestiges of my humanity, I reach back.

I have hope at last.
Perhaps I can be saved. Perhaps it isn’t too late for me…for us. For my family.

But when a mangled body is found, mauled beyond recognition, he looks at me differently.
Like I might have something to do with it.

It’s possible that he is right.
I can’t be sure anymore. I don’t know who to trust when I can’t even trust myself.
Especially when I wake up to sheets stained red…another body discovered.
The manhunt for the culprit will lead straight to my door.

What am I going to do?
I’m a monster.

The stakes have never been higher, and the clock is ticking.
If the beast consumes me, all will be lost.

After two decades as a journalist, B.E. Brouillard made the leap to fiction. It was time to create the dark stories that had lurked in her mind for all those years. Tortured souls, flawed lovers, dysfunctional behavior...her characters are not for the faint-hearted. Having said that, many readers will find common ground with the less-than-perfect heroes of these stories. In spite of a mild case of cynicism, Brouillard remains a staunch romantic - Happily-Ever-Afters are guaranteed.

A child of the global village, Ms. Brouillard loves Paris, Africa, sushi, and champagne. When she's not wordsmithing dark debauchery, she spends time with her beautiful men, their German Shepherds, and her pack of killer ponies. Or drinking martinis with friends.

A simply wonderful read, great characters and simply amazing plot and storyline
Cedara has been living in her wolf form for so long she knows that her family is trapped inside the compound but she has lost all track of time and no matter how hard she has tried is not able to reach them, she is also not able to resume her human form and knows that it has something to do with the tests and injections she was given in the compound.
Barrett Chord is determined to discover what is happening in the compound is not good and when he finds a female wolf hanging around the compound he feels an unusual draw to her, he knows that she is a shifter but she is remaining in her animal form and he has no idea why.
When he is finally able to see that there is most definitely shifters being held behind closed doors and that he lets the Alpha at the Steel Lakes know that there are in fact shifters being held by the compound and that they desperately need rescuing.
However, the she fox is still proving that he does not want to know what he is in relation to her and she will surprise him by eventually changing and then things will slowly come together, unfortunately Barrett finds things are not as easy as expected with a female wolf and still fails to understand the need to follow her.
This is a wonderful continuation to the series and I guarantee that you will love this the next book in the series, the plot was solid and the characters are simply wonderful.
I assure you that you will love every moment of this book it is simply a fantastic read.

I thoroughly enjoyed the book and look forward to reading any future publications; keep up all their wonderful writing.

This one might be my favorite of the series so far. We were introduced to Barrett in the last book and I wasn't sure that we really needed his story. I was SOOOO wrong. He is drawn to Cedara who seems to be stuck in her wolf form. She is very skittish and he slowly earns her trust as he helps her find her way back from the edge. She seems to suffer from PTSD like symptoms and mentality. Barrett is with her every step of the way as she goes from mindless wild wolf back to a shifter with her human side in control. This one holds a special place in my heart. I have suffered from depression for years and am a recovering alcoholic and addict. My husband has stood with me the entire time and helped me find my way back from chaos. B.E Brouillard amazes me how she can keep coming up with stories that are all so different. Next is Raura's story and I'm ready.

The problem with some books that are part of a series (with the same recurrent characters and with a leading theme throughout the whole series ) is that after the first books it all might result boring and repetitive. That’s not the case for this author’s books! All her stories are unique and different, all her characters come from different situations with different pasts and the reader is eager to know their story.
Cedara and Barret are no different, the story starting at a point of their lives where you want to know what happened to them before and what is going to happen next. Cameos from the previous characters are always a bonus.
If you are addicted to this series as I am , don’t worry because there’s another book coming at the end of May!

This is Barrett and Cedara’s story and it’ll keep you on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next! Cedara is having a tough time with her wolf and it seems Barrett is the only one who can reach her. He’s so sweet and patient which is what Cedara really needs right now. I love how protective he is! These two are really adorable together! A little mystery in here that definitely keeps you turning the pages. A very enjoyable story! Can’t wait for the next one! This is my honest opinion of this complimentary copy of this book

Cedara is one of the wolves that had been captured & released in the previous book.
She had managed to escape but couldn’t get in to help her family so she stayed in the vicinity as a wolf as the treatment given to her had meant she couldn’t change back to human form.
Barratt was patrolling the perimeter of the compound and came across Cedara but he knew from the start that he was drawn to her.
This book is their story but also expands the storylines of the others from previous books too.
I love this whole series and can’t wait for how it grows

I am absolutely loving this series, Cedara is losing her humanity and Barret is determined to keep her. Their connection is unmistakable and they are perfect for each other. His support never wavers even when she doubts herself. Loved the showdown with the ‘police’.
I am so invested in this series and can’t wait for the next instalment!!
I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

meh

I really liked the main characters, but the story didn’t measure up to the first three books. I will be reading the fifth book. I hope that it wraps up the overall plot and resolves the threats to the community.

My but there were a lot of twists in this story. It was very engaging. It did have the HEA ending but I wasn’t sure they were going to survive to get to it!
