We’ve had the True Story of British Wrestling’s Revival. We’ve experienced its Emotional Rise. Now it’s time to go Inside the British Wrestling Boom Years and Beyond. Get ready for One Fall to a Finish. British professional wrestling was dominating the TV landscape like it hadn’t done for decades. With the comeback of wrestling to ITV, the launch of a new WWE brand in the UK and the first live televised wrestling series based in the country for almost 50 years, once again British wrestlers were the talk of the world. What could possibly go wrong? In the follow-up to his hit books Holy Grail and Ropes and Glory, journalist, broadcaster and wrestling personality Greg Lambert gives his unique inside perspective on how the revival of the UK wrestling scene hit its peak, before things began to unravel.
This book covers the last 10-ish years of British professional wrestling’s history. Having been involved in the scene for this time there wasn’t anything particularly new for me to find out reading this book, although it was certainly interesting to find out from an insiders perspective what went wrong with 5 Star wrestling. Some interesting first hand accounts of NXT UK & WOS Wrestling’s revival. Lots of focus on PCW, not much detail on other wrestling companies. Would have been nice to have some more interviews with more people - particularly women. Overall I found this an entertaining read but not the most thrilling.
Where to begin? Greg has been part of the British Wrestling scene for.many years. I first met him as my son came through the XWA school in Morecambe before helping out backstage and front of house for a few years This is the final book in the trilogy of British wrestling and an enjoyable and educational one at that. I have not been to shows for many years but felt good in reading the exploits since
Greg's style.if writing is engaging and uses quotes with a great story telling ability
