Not sure if I love or hate Sadie right now 🤣 the book was so good but the cliffhanger is killing me! Can't wait to see what happens next.
Daisy and the Beasts get much closer in this book 🥵 and I love the dynamic and character growth. The story line is just getting more and more intriguing. I can't wait for book 3 to see who Mr. X is. Also hoping to learn more about Bram 🤔
I thought I had it all figured out and then… nope! Not at all! There are so many elements to this story. Sadie really gives you all these hints and still everything is so complicated. I swear every chapter is a surprise.
I love how Daisy and the Beasts really connect in this book. Secrets are revealed and emotions run high. And wow… The Velvet Rope!
And of course cameos from Willa and the Kings are always a plus! Definitely read The Kings books before the Beasts books for a better grasp on certain events. And also because they are really good books themselves.
And that cliffhanger… I just can’t. The next book can’t come quick enough!!
Grabbed me and wouldn’t let go. The story just keeps getting better. I started last night and had to force myself to put it down for sleep. Wolf is still my favorite but how could I not love all of the Beasts and their princess. The author is an automatic read for me without even a second thought. I cannot wait to read what else she gives us in the future.
I was selected to be on the ARC team for this book, it was phenomenal and I can't wait to see what everybody else thinks!
"A few weeks ago I'd felt like they were my harbor in the storm. Now I knew they were the storm." A force to be reckoned with, they are! There were tears, laughter, copious amounts of spice. It was everything I expected book two to be and so much more.
Sadie does such a fantastic job of leading you to believe her characters have solved a mystery when, in all actuality, they've only just broken the surface of it. We have droves of questions begging to be answered once book two has concluded.
Daisy's transformation and character development is refreshing, the Daisy we see come to light is SUCH a badass. "It was time to bury the Daisy Hammond who was afraid of what she wanted, who was ashamed of what she wanted. Who let everyone shield her from the truth."
As per usual, Sadie ends the book with an earth-shattering cliffhanger. Although, I've learned that nothing really is ever as it seems in Blackwell Falls...
Buckle up babes! You're in for a bumpy AND spicy ride!
I want to know who Mr X is and if I’m right about a potential something. But this is seriously ridiculous… their maturity levels their experiences the way they talk act are inconsistent in general but also inconsistent with age/experiences….. also the flippant nature of having to murder someone and not affected by their actions like they’ve been killing for years and know how to get away with it but then they only killed their best friend when they were teenagers…. (Not like one murder isn’t enough to be icky of course but no remorse? No “what have I done”) and it goes back and forth between “we had to do what we had to do so we planned to murder him” to “things got out of hand”…. So premeditated or not? …. Just odd. I swear if I find out that Ruth or the dead mum is involved in the trafficking ring I’m just done. Maybe Mr X is the brother and he’s still alive, at this point in the plot I dunno if that would surprise me. Story has enough threads that I’m super curious, characters have their moments, sex scenes have their moments. I dunno man… part of me is like why am I still reading but who is Mr X ?

WTF! That ending, holy heck. First, I know everything is NOT as it seems, and that person isn’t really dead, because they were too big of a part of the story to kill off. But still, damn. My chest was tight and my heart was still racing in that last chapter. I’ve had a feeling they were wrong about who Mr. X was, I’m thinking it’s someone closer to Jace, and I’m also wondering if that someone could be his dad… Or possibly Daisy’s! Ooh I can’t wait to tear into book 3! So many questions, and I need answers!
I was right. Daisy & Jace finally coming together was a fierce storm, and totally worth the wait. I fell more in love with Otis and his stark honesty this book. And Wolf, steady & sweet Wolf… I enjoyed getting to see his darkness come out to play. The cliffhanger ending was brutal and I’m just glad I can dive right into book 3 A-S-A-f***ing-P.
Daisy has earned the truth. Can she live with it and her feelings regarding the Beasts? Have they figured out who Mr. X is? They think they know who it is, but are they right. Who over is trafficking has now up the danger. Can they get their answers or will tragedy strike? Come on in and find out.
I love sweet Otis even more after reading this, not to mention the other Beasts. The twists and turns keep you on your toes. That ending stopped my heart. I couldn't download the 3rd book fast enough.
Pay The Price is the second book in this series. It picks up right where Gather the Storm ended. The twists and turns keep you riveted. As soon as you think you’ve figured it out, another twist is thrown at you. WOW! The cliffhanger will have you in tears. The next book can’t get here soon enough.
Unfortunately, the series was a poor man’s version, a very poor man’s version of the previous series. I’m not sure how that’s possible because it was written by the same person. But I just couldn’t get into any of it. None of it felt real or gave you the ability through reading to connect with it. The characters were all one note and they had such unique personalities, but it just didn’t come through when it just seemed forced. I tried real hard, but I just couldn’t like Daisy as a character either. She was either extremely stupid or pretending to be a slut and not in a hot way. Were two books in and there is almost no progression in the plot or in their relationships or in the characters. Everything is very rushed or just nonexistent and this is only a three book series. I feel like this book was a waste because nothing happened with the relationships that weren’t even existing and book one all the way up to 50% of this book. Then all of a sudden a little bit was smashed into the end. And don’t even get me started on the atomic bomb that was the cliffhanger, I felt like the writer had to do that because the rest of the book was a soft fart.
I’m really enjoying the back story mystery in this series and look forward to the third book coming out. However the spice and relationship part almost feels like a carbon copy of the Aventine University series. It’s decent but predictable and feels repetitive.
Is anyone besides me sick and tired of Daisy referring to the three guys as the “Beasts?” Give it a rest, already. So juvenile. It’s not complimentary and if I remember correctly it originated in the media.
I’m guessing this is supposed to be Otis on the cover. Good looking guy but I’m pretty sure I see tattoos and Otis only has one small daisy on the back of his neck. Daisy comments more than once on his lack of ink.
They’re still trying to find out who is behind the trafficking of young women. It seems like every lead turns into a dead end. Daisy’s father is eliminated as a suspect when Blake’s phone gets a message from “Mr. X” and it’s obviously not her dad. Yeah, he may not be Mr. X but that doesn’t eliminate him completely from being involved. They seem to give him a pass after this.
Daisy discovers her mother had a past relationship with the biker gang Jace grew up with. She is determined to find out the details and for some incomprehensible reason seems to think it ties in with the abductions. I don’t see it as Daisy was ten when her mom OD’d (very suspiciously) It doesn’t appear that the kidnappings started until almost five years later when Blake was killed.
Condoms no longer make an appearance since Daisy and Jace’s first tumble. Is she on birth control or is she going to join Willa in baby making?
The buildings in the biker compound are concrete. It doesn’t seem like they would go up in flames too easily, even if an accelerant is used. But what do I know?
This book in this series was not as good as the first one not as steamy. The story kind of dragged and I just don't get the authors. If you are paying someone to narrate your story, then you should at least get someone whose voice does not make you wanna fall asleep while you're listening anyway, I really love the whisper, read that's on Kindle, right? Because it gives me the ability to read and listen at the same time. However, the narrator for the female part on this book had no, her voice was monotoned, always like she was whispering. I mean, come on, if you see an explanation point, you know that you're supposed to put a little ump into that one, this one wasn't very good. And the next book which is book 3 in this series, the year the audio hasn't come out yet. But the book is so I will be doing the horrible. Horrible seen of reading. Who is doubt listening? But we'll see how it goes. This one got a 2 star for the story. Simply because I think she could have made it a lot more interesting. And it's only gonna get one chili pepper, because there was hardly anything in it. I think there were like 2 scenes right? Christine, and there's just yeah, I mean, come on, it's book 2, it's supposed to heat up a little bit more, and it just didn't. This is a good author and normally her her series are pretty good. But this one just wasn't on this book too.
What a page turner!!!! I couldn’t put this book down! This book picks right up from the cliffhanger in Gather the Storm (Blackwell Beasts Book 1) and delves into the secrets and lies that surround these intriguing characters. Just when you think you’ve figured it out, bam! Something else happens that you cannot wait to find out what it is and why. This book ends on a mouth dropping cliffhanger and I cannot wait for the next installment to find out what happens!
This series grabs your attention right out of the gate and pulls you right in! I really love the first person narrative. Makes you feel you are right there in the story. This is a MUST read series if you love mystery, intrigue, and hot steamy scenes with not just one but three hot af guys!
NOTE: Even though this series could be read without having read the Aventine University series, I highly recommend that you read that series first so you understand everything that has happened in this small town. Several of the characters from that series are included in this book. You’ll definitely be happy that you read the Aventine University series first.
Took one star off because I felt like there could be a bit more character development in this book. Also the ending felt so rushed/abrupt.
Don’t scroll further if you don’t want a huge spoiler.
Okay, this book had me in a chokehold. I was seriously captured by it. I knew that the Mr. X wouldn’t be who they thought it was and had a gut feeling about who it may be. I also think part of why daisy’s dad looked at her differently was because he doubted that she was his. I have to think that plays a role in this somehow. Mac has to play a role in this somehow too because why else would the barn go up in flames. And NOPE, no way. It didn’t end like that. I refuse to believe it! Jace is going to be alive… he has to be… the story ended too abruptly. He will be in the third book because his story is not over… he deserves so much better! I really hope that he has to let people believe he is dead for some reason. He had so much more development ahead of him.
Obviously the new property people have to be involved somehow or at least the son is because what a creep.

Pay The Price is book 2 in the Blackwell Beasts storyline and what a book it was!! <3 "You belong to us now. And we'll burn the world for you.. hurt for you.. kill for you. Tell me you know it." SOBBING. The book started right where book 1 left off and captured my attention from the get-go. The mystery just keeps getting deeper, and it seems I am always surprised at what is around the corner for Daisy and her Beasts. Reading about the relationship growth between Daisy and each of the Beasts was such a fun, emotional, and veryyy steamy ride. Can I be Daisy a Velvet Rope? IYKYK ;) Daisy has become so much more confident and badass in this book, we love to see it! And seeing The Beasts war with themselves and each other about the relationship they have with Daisy is so funny and sweet. Sadie killed it with this book and even though my heart has been ripped from my chest, BRING ON BOOK 3!! Book ends on a cliffhanger... Sadie is cruel haha!! I need to know who Mr. X is and IF MY MAN IS OKAY OR NOT!!! I received an ARC copy of this book ⭐⭐⭐⭐
So annoyed. Kindle said this was book 2 of 2 and then it ends on a cliffhanger? Ughhh I would not have started this series had I know it was incomplete. 👎🏼👎🏼 Once I was at like 85% I was wondering how it would wrap up in so little time. Now I know why.
I’m wondering if her dad isn’t involved at all and he just treats her poorly because he isn’t her dad, and Mac is? Wouldn’t that be something.
This book had more action and steam than the first, and the story picked up. That happened in the Aventine series as well. Hopefully the last book is good because I’m not gonna lie… I was looking forward to this being a duet and not three books. I usually get bored around the third book and feel like it’s dragged out.
I do want to say Wolf’s synesthesia is super cool. I never heard of it before and looked it up. I’ve come across quite a few books that have a character who has some sort of social “quirkiness”, like Otis not being able to read people and being very literal, but Wolf’s was a brand new and interesting thing to learn about.
Basic Plot: Daisy and the Beasts hunt for information on the mysterious group trafficking women while solidifying their relationship.
This wasn't a cliffhanger. but there was a significant twist at the end. It was clearly meant to be a tearjerker, but didn't work on me for several reasons. I don't do spoilers (not beyond vague hints like this, at least), so I can't really explain why here. It would be spoilery.
This plot kind of meandered. I suppose for a mystery this makes sense- there have to be misdirections and red herrings for the reader to obsess over, or it's no fun. I have a theory over who Mr. X is, and I was glad that every one of my theories developed over the course of this book (that have revelations) have been correct. There have been enough twists and turns that the author clearly worked to misdirect, but I've been right so far. Anyway, I'm having fun with the series. The last book doesn't appear to be available on audio at the moment, so I'm a bit in the lurch to get the conclusion soon.
Holy Cliffhanger! This book continues the mystery, intrigue and secrets that Blackwell Falls has hidden and shrouded in darkness. Daisy has become close with the Beasts and in the midst of her uncertainty about the dynamics of their relationship, there are other complications! Secrets are revealed and the more secrets Daisy and the Beasts uncover, the more complicated it gets with a sinister twist. Despite the inferno that seems to surround them though, the closer, hotter and more spicy they are as a foursome and it’s downright, dirty, delicious and sensual! The complexity and depth of these characters makes this such an absolutely intriguing story that kept me mesmerized. That cliffhanger though, it has me in my feelings! What awaits Daisy and her Beasts and what dark secrets will they discover next? I know there’s a diabolical plot about to be exposed and I can’t wait! Once again you blew me away Sadie with this masterpiece!
I received an ARC of Pay the Price and I can tell you it was fantastic. I read just over a third and had to be an adult for the day...and as soon as I had finished all I had to do I was right back to reading.
I laughed. Smiled. Gasped in surprise. Rooted for "the Beasts". And wanted to be Daisy more than once. Ok...more than a dozen times.
Wolf is emerging as my personal favorite of the Beasts. I have a thing for tatted up tall guys.
Seriously Sadie can spin a story that will pull you in and grab at your heart. Few books pull me in like this one did and I really can't wait for the next book to come out.
The only thing I wasn't thrilled about was the cliff hanger it ended on and if I'm honest it's because I'm an instant gratification girl. It leaves you wanting the next part. The ending was pure perfection!
It took me a minute to gather my thoughts on this one. This is the second book in the Blackwell Beast series. A LOT was going on in this particular book. The first book left off with Daisy being abducted, this picked right up from that point on. Daisy has to fight her feelings for the beasts which she feels is a direct betrayal of her brother. As the book continues Daisy gains more insight as to why her brother was murdered and they continue to try and figure out who X is. There is plenty of steam amongst all the beasts and Daisy. Never a dull moment and plenty of reasons to continue to dislike her father. Also, the major question of why her mother was involved with the Blades and Mac in particular. I look forward to the conclusion as we were left with a pretty major cliffhanger and the death of a main character.

First off.....the ending had me in full fledge panic and ended on a huge cliff hanger! But I'm feeling optimistic.🤞
But holy cow!! Jace has my heart for sure! The way he just is in this book will literally make you swoon. The way he loves Daisy and protects her. I can't get enough of it and lets not even forget the words he says. Like he will be an ass one second than say the most romantic thing in the world! Literally....🫠
Otis and Wolf are perfection still. I enjoy reading how their relationship with Daisy is growing more and more.
I definitely am excited to find out the truth about Daisy's dad and see what is all going on with that. I am even stumped by it all. But I'm really happy Daisy is listening to her heart with the boys.
But wow this was such a great read once again. Both these books I couldn't put down and I'm soooo excited to read the next one!

Welcome back to Blackwood falls with a wild ride of emotions! Sadie has absolutely outdone herself with this sequel, as she always does. The mysteries keep getting deeper, just as you think you know what’s going on there’s a twist revealed showing that you’re only at the tip of the iceberg of the dark truths that surround Blackwood Falls.
Daisy has been through so much, her character development to becoming the confident badass that we know she is throughout this book was fantastic, looking forward to seeing her growth in books to come.
“You belong to us now. And we’ll burn the world for you. hurt for you. kill for you. Tell me you know it.” Absolutely bawling!!
As we all know Sadie loves leaving us on a cliffhanger and she did not disappoint! I can’t wait to see what’s next for Daisy and her Beasts, book three can’t come fast enough!
