Blade & Arrow Security #6

Saved from Jeopardy

Rate this book
Six years ago my life imploded. And I made the worst mistake of my life.

I knew it would be hard to see him at the wedding.

How could it not be? He was the only man I ever loved. Even though I’m the one that ended things so cruelly.

But when I talked to Jack? Saw him face to face and realized the magnitude of what I lost? It was more than hard. It was unbearable.

So I ran. Me. After all my claims of being strong—one of the first female Green Berets, a valued member of Blade and Arrow Security—I crumbled.

I just wanted to get home, raging snowstorm or not. But what I wasn’t expecting was stubborn Jack following me. Refusing to leave. He wanted to know why I was so upset.

Telling him the truth? That’s what scares me the most.

I couldn’t understand why she was crying.

My Nora never cried. She considered it a personal weakness. So why did I find her running away in tears after seeing me?

I couldn’t just watch her go. Not after the cutting words I said to her. Not when my heart was so stubbornly clinging to all those old feelings.

She insisted on leaving, and I wouldn’t back down. So we ended up driving off into the blizzard together.

Reckless? Probably. Do I regret it? Not in the least.

Especially when my strong Nora needs me.

It was one thing being apart but knowing she was out there, still okay. Still safe. But when she’s in danger? I can’t turn my back on her. And past hurts don’t seem as important anymore.

Saved from Jeopardy is the sixth and final book in the Blade and Arrow Security series. It has a strong and independent heroine, a protective alpha hero, a team of former Green Berets, lots of twists and turns, plenty of romantic moments, forced proximity, a found family, action, danger, and steam! No cliffhangers and a happily-ever-after guaranteed! (Can be read as a standalone novel)

Nora and Jack were a couple until something happened and she dumped him, trouble is she's still and always will have feelings for him. So when she knows she's going to see him, six years later, at a friend's wedding,  she thinks she's under control. Jack has always loved Nora and has no idea why she broke up with him.

Nora couldn't tell Jack what had happened to her, she pushed him away before he could push her, but she didn't give him a chance to deal with anything, for a strong woman she seemed to act weak, or maybe that was the only way she could cope with the situation.

I couldn’t wait for this book…

And I dreaded it as well. The LAST book in the series – seriously, I was not ready. Nora’s story though was one I couldn’t wait to start reading and the minute it hit my kindle I dove right in…
And it was as phenomenal as I’d hoped. Set in Susan Stoker’s fan world of fiction, this series has been all about family and friendship, camaraderie, love and hope. With romantic suspense the ties that bound them all, each story meant a couple with a spotlight and strong, supportive characters at their back. This was no exception, as the emotions ranged from the depths of despair to the heights of happiness, there was no turning back…

Nora and Jack had a second chance and their rocky meeting did not set the stage for any type of reconciliation. Somehow, though, they found their way back, putting in the work and earning their HEA…

I stumbled on this series, and author, by chance and I’m so lucky I did!

Highly recommend!

*I happily reviewed this story

This book is fantastic, and I loved it from beginning to end. I found this series late in the series, so I missed the first 4 books, but I will be going back and reading each one of them. If all of your books are like this, I would love to be on your ARC team if you ever need anyone. I am going to really miss this series, but I cannot wait to see what you have in store for us next. Thank you for your great books!
Nora was one of the first women in the green berets and now works at Blade and Arrow Security and Jackson was her x-boyfriend. Nora was very strong, and she never cried but seeing Jackson at this wedding of their friend brought tears to her eyes. Did she still love him after all of these years? Years ago, something had happened, and she broke up with Jackson. Maybe it was just the shock of seeing him again after all of these years. All she knew was she had to get out of here. She told her friends and co-workers that she was going home even though it was now snowing pretty hard. They all knew that something was wrong and that she knew what she was doing. Nora was the strongest woman they had ever known, and she had been to hell and back, but she was still going strong. When she started driving out of the parking lot Jackson opened the passenger door and invited himself in. He was worried about her driving in this storm and said he was going with her. It did her no good to resist so she just kept silent and paid attention to the road.
All of a sudden, they heard a big pop. Oh no, a flat tire and the roads were slick and full of curves, a bad area for a flat. Jackson told her to just step on the brakes slowly and roll to a stop. But the car keeps speeding down the road. No brakes? She was trying desperately to get the car to slow down but it was no use. All she could do was try to stay on the road and pray. They hit a patch of ice and then she saw the tree right in their path. The next thing she knew Jackson was trying to get her to wake up. She had hit the tree and for some reason her airbag had not gone off, so she banged her head pretty bad on the steering wheel. The cut was bleeding and Jackson was trying to get it to stop. He also said he thought I had a concussion. Oh good, now what do we do. Neither of the cell phones had a signal. Jackson had driven in earlier today and he said he remembered seeing an old motel close to here so maybe they could make it that far. Hopefully they could stay there and maybe their phones would work. When I went to stand up my legs would not work so Jackson carried me, he was still the sweet man that I used to love.
After what seemed like hours of walking, they got to the old hotel, but it was also closed up. What do we do now? Do we dare break in? Will my co-workers get worried and come to find us? Will we be arrested? What could have caused a flat tire, the breaks not to work and my air bag not to go off? Keep reading this fantastic book to find all of the answers, I know you are going to love it.
I got this book from Book Sirens and will be very happy to leave my review.

In "Saved from Jeopardy," Gia Cobie delivers a captivating second-chance romance that tugs at the heartstrings and keeps readers on the edge of their seats. This sixth and final installment of the Blade and Arrow Security series is a rollercoaster of emotions, action, and steamy passion.

Six years ago, Nora's life shattered, and she made a decision she now regrets deeply. Seeing Jack, the man she loved and hurt, at a wedding brings all those painful memories rushing back. Despite her attempts to stay strong, the sight of Jack is unbearable, and she flees.

Jack, determined to understand why Nora is so upset, follows her into a raging snowstorm. As they find themselves stranded together, old wounds reopen, and the truth behind their painful past emerges.

Nora, once a strong and independent Green Beret, now finds herself vulnerable and in need of Jack's support. Jack, unable to ignore his lingering feelings for Nora, becomes her protector in the midst of danger.

The chemistry between Nora and Jack is undeniable, and as they navigate the treacherous snowstorm and confront their past mistakes, their love reignites with a fierce intensity. Cobie expertly weaves together moments of tension, passion, and vulnerability, creating a story that grips readers from beginning to end.

"Saved from Jeopardy" is not just a romance; it's a tale of redemption, forgiveness, and the strength of love. The characters are well-developed and relatable, each with their own flaws and struggles. Readers will find themselves rooting for Nora and Jack to overcome their obstacles and find their way back to each other.

With plenty of twists, turns, and heart-pounding action, "Saved from Jeopardy" keeps readers guessing until the very end. Cobie delivers a satisfying conclusion to the Blade and Arrow Security series, leaving readers with a sense of fulfillment and a heartwarming happily-ever-after.

For fans of second-chance romances with a touch of danger and suspense, "Saved from Jeopardy" is a must-read. Gia Cobie once again proves her talent for crafting compelling stories that leave a lasting impression. Don't miss this thrilling and emotional journey of love and redemption.

Saved from Jeopardy is the sixth and final book in the Blade and Arrow Security series. Spectacular and fast-paced second chance romance. This book is the perfect blend of nonstop action, heartwarming romance, danger, tension and emotional turmoil/connection. The author showed passion, redemption, forgiveness, the strength of love and intrigue building them up in a perfect way. Saved from Jeopardy is as captivating as it is enthralling and a highly emotional roller coaster.

Nora and Jack shone through these pages and stole the show. Nora's life shattered six years ago leaving Jack behind, breaking both their hearts without explanation. The love between them never faded it only became stronger through years. Seeing Jack again, reopened old wounds and regrets. Both are very determined and stubborn. Jack didn't want to leave Nora, so they ended stranded. Nora and Jack feel so deeply, one could say they are attuned to each other. They had many struggles to overcome to find their HEA. These two have great chemistry and dynamic. Just perfectly woven and developed.

Another fantastic addition to this series and what a perfect way to end it. It has a strong and independent heroine, a protective alpha hero, a team of former Green Berets, lots of twists and turns, plenty of romantic moments, forced proximity, a found family, action, danger, and steam all rolled into a heartfelt second chance.

If Gia Cobie keeps doing this to me, I don't know what I am going to do if she ever even thinks about being done writing. Every one of her series and each book within that series has me absolutely entranced. She is such a talented writer and her characters lure me in every time. Even when I swear that I'm not going to get so sucked into it that I can't put it down. This one was no different.

This story was all Nora's and it had me in tears on more than one occasion. There are definitely some major possible triggers, so I recommend checking on what those are before continuing. Though I will say Gia Cobie's skill at dealing with those triggering situations and traumas was absolutely beautiful and the epitome of respectful. Nora has always been so strong but after everything she's been through, she needs someone to lean on. And there is no one better than Jack.

Jack had so much love for Nora and feels her emotions so deeply. As they discuss the past and Nora reveals her secrets, Jack swears that nothing will ever come between them again and that he will do whatever he has to in order to protect her now and for the rest of forever. A promise that he has to put into effect pretty quickly as it appears Nora is in danger once again.

There aren't enough words to truly describe how much I loved this book and how I cannot wait for the next book Gia Cobie sends our way. So you know I absolutely recommend this book, series, and author.

“Saved from Jeopardy” is the final book in the wonderful Blade and Arrow Security B&A) series. Nora is a member of the B&A team and a former Green Beret who suffered a severe trauma six years ago while in the military in Afghanistan. Jackson is her former lover who she broke up with right after the traumatic event, not giving him a reason.

Fast forward six years and she sees him again at a wedding. Jackson talks to her trying to find out why she suddenly left him since they were in love. Nora starts crying and runs away to her car to leave. Jackson goes with her because it's a severe snowstorm and he's worried about her driving. She is in an accident and Jackson saves her. They are stuck in the storm and are forced to be together.

Nora doesn't believe she's good enough for Jackson because of what happened to her in the military. Jackson still loves her and needs to know why she left him. Eventually Nora tells him what happened to her, and he helps support her through her emotional journey dealing with the trauma.

They had many struggles to overcome to find their HEA. Gia Cobie crafted such a wonderful story of love lost, found, and everything in-between. Her books are riveting and impossible to put down. So be prepared for an all nighter when you start “Saved from Jeopardy”!

In saved from Jeopardy we finally get Nora’s story.

We know from previous books in this series that Nora had some traumatic events during her last overseas deployment. We also know that she had a relationship with Jack, who we met in the previous book in this series when he stepped into help Finn and Hanna.

Given all of that, there were big expectations from me on this book and boy, did Gia deliver!

We learn more of Jack and how he reacted to the creak of their relationship. Clearly Jack is hurt and angry about their shared past, but will Nora open up to Jack? Will they both get the second chance they deserve?

I found this to be a n emotionally driven story we learn about the teams last deployment form Nora’s point of view, and it is as harrowing as we feared. Will Nora take the support she has been avoiding form the rest of the team. Will Jack understand more of what happened in the past to cause the ending of their relationship. There is still peril ahead for Nora and Jack to deal with, and they do this with support from the Blade and Arrow team.

Gia Cobie, handled some difficult subjects with great sensitivity and the emotions jumped off the page. I am so pleased that Blade and Arrow will be back with Bravo team later this year.

Nora was the first female Green Beret and she and her team survived absolute heck. Nora is a survivor, however, after she survived, she broke up with her boyfriend, Jack, who piloted the helo for extraction, sometimes. It has been years and they see each other again, at a wedding. Nora leaves and Jack follows. I'll leave it at that for that part. Let's just say adversity hits them and the rest of the team shows up. I love all of the team members and their significant others (and their pets). The team came together to make Blade and Arrow a really good security business and on the side, they have some pro-bono work. That is how most of the guys on the team found their girls. All of the stories were awesome, but I have to say that this one has to be my fave and that is saying something! I hope there are more books as they introduce the other characters from another team that they worked a lot with. I giggled, laughed, chewed my nails, squeed, muttered and cursed as I read the book, and more. lol. I adore this author as every book I've read has been great to awesome.

Really good, some of the plot gets a bit silly, and it drags at first.

Aw that was a really good book to end on. It dragged on a bit at the beginning as Nora wouldn’t tell Jack why she split up with him, and broke his heart. From the other books in the series it was pretty obvious what had happened to Nora in Afghanistan, and I was really pleased that the author didn’t just skim over her trauma and she had a lot of counselling.

Nora as the only female on the team of Green berets, was brutally attacked in Afghanistan. When she felt like a failure she rang Jack and ended their relationship. This is where her teammates should have stepped in to help them, as Finn says to Jack they didn’t know. THEY DID KNOW, AS THEY FOUND HER STRAIGHT AFTER IT HAPPENED!! 😡😡 Anyway moving on, Nora eventually opens up to Jack about what happened to her, and too be honest he does start treating her differently. She’s talking to a pushy man at a function and Jack rushes over to ‘save’ her. Then when she’s injured he acts like he wants to lock her inside.

In places it’s quite exciting, and I did love Jack and Nora. One more thing I will say is that this authors sex scenes are really boring.

It has been six years since Nora Byrne had seen Jackson Hendricks, six long years and now he is here. Upset at how she had ended their two -year relationship, she tries to leave only to have him follow her into the snow storm. When they need to seek shelter, her ex-military friends and team at Blade & Arrow Security find them. Although they depend on paid security clients, their pro-bono work brings them the most satisfaction. As Nora and Jack spend time together, she knows that it is time that she explains why she broke up with him. He realizes that there is something that she needs to confide, but it needs to be on her timeline. Nora has always had to be the strong one, both at home and in the military. Will she finally realize that accepting help from her friends doesn’t make her weak, just loved? When a visit to her support group goes very wrong, will Jack and her team be there for her, again? A wonderful ending to this series, but I’m sure (and hope) we hear from these characters again! I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

This is an emotional rollercoaster full of tension, suspense, hate, love , betrayaland redemption. This is the sixth and last book in the Blade and Arrow Operation Alpha Security series. This is Nora's story and it is written with the fierceness that an independent, strong woman feels when she sees herself as weak and not worthy. There are triggers that are handled in a tactful and non judgemental way by the author that allows the reader to be included in the heartbreak inherent in the story. The darkness that touched Nora's life affected her team, friends, and Jackson the man she loved. Jackson is wonderful in this second chance book and we all should have a Jackson in our lives. This author is a remarkable talented writes who pulls you into the story and won't let you go until the last page. This book is the kind of book that readers stay up all night because they have to know what happens. I am sad to have this series end but am ready for the next chapter. Remember this author's name because you will want to read her books.

What a book! I have loved this whole series but these just get better and better! I absolutely couldn't put this book down. I had been looking forward to reading Nora's story since meeting her in previous books and her tale certainly did not disappoint! Jack was a wonderful hero, and seeing them both work towards their HEA was a true delight. The story is well thought out with believable and likeable characters and an intelligent page turning plot. It was great to catch up with the other characters in the team and to be given tantalising hints of possible new books is certainly exciting. I recommend this book unreservedly, the only annoyance is that the sneak peek into a following book is so exciting that I don't know how I am going to wait until its release. For anyone who hasn't yet discovered Gia Cobie you are in for such a treat.

Another author ✍️ I'm adding to my 'must read' 📖 list

This is a story that ticks off everything I reckon should be in checklit - romance, adventure, whodunnit, second chance, good friends with a really good yarn that goes with it.

Nora and Jackson are not youngsters (nor are they old), they have both learnt that there are no shortcuts to HEAs and life can be seriously tough. In the six years since Nora finished up with Jackson, life circumstances have changed. So where to from here? Things are not always as they seem…, and there were twists that I didn't see coming.

Thoroughly enjoyed reading this book, now I need to read the series from the beginning. Oh well, who says things have to be done in a particular order.

This is the final book in the Blade and Arrow Security series.

It is about Nora and Jackson who were in love until one day Nora sends Jackson a text stating it's over. No explanation, just over.

Six years later Nora and Jackson are attending a teammates wedding and when she looks at him, her heart is still breaking.

She decides to leave the wedding even though it's snowing out and Jackson follows her out. She tells him to leave her alone, but he jumps into her car and said he isn't leaving.

It is snowing harder as they travel and then she blows a tire, tries to break and nothing. They end up crashing in the middle of nowhere. Nora is hurt so Jackson gets her out of the car, bundles her up and carries her to an abandon motel.

This book has so many twists and turns along with major action. I recommend this book.

I loved this book! Nora and Jack were the ultimate couple amid a whole group of couples.

This was about Nora a member of Blade and Arrow security and her ex Jackson who she had history with, but came back into her life at a crucial time.

The danger and suspense was raw in this book as the trouble seemed to come at them. So much drama but the history between Nora and Jack seemed to bring the most drama.

They certainly had the connection and the attraction between them never died in the time they were apart. That was never in doubt for them.

So well done, it made it hard to put down for very long, I enjoyed it that much. Such a great story, feel good, yet emotional at times.

Highly recommended!!

Nora and Jacks story is the sixth and final book in the Blade and Arrow Security Series. You can read it as a standalone but all the books are connected so there could be spoilers for the previous books. Nora has been there for all her teammate as they found love and she’s the last single member of Blade and Arrow. She had someone she loved before her team was attacked on their last deployment which left her broken and hating herself, she broke it off with Jack without telling him why. When they meet again at a friends wedding all those feelings come back. Their story is a steamy second chance romance and the perfect ending for Blade and Arrow. The final book for this team starts & ends with so much emotions. Jack & Nora pull at out hearts from the get go. Jack's character is so wonderful & venerable. You have to sigh with happiness at so many moments when Jack speaks. Nora whose always been kickass shows a soft side that wants you to hug her. A touch a suspense that helps emphasise the family & love that runs through the core of Blade & Arrow series. Gia has done a fabulous job on this series & created excitement for the new upcoming one! I enjoyed this story for the most part. The beginning starts off with a bang as Nora tries to come to terms with seeing her ex and all of the baggage that entails. Thankfully Jack doesn’t run away once Nora opens up. I started to get bored in the middle while things were going well but this story managed to reel me back in when something happens with Nora and Jack has the opportunity to be her knight in shining armour.

For me this would be 3.5 stars but since we can’t give half stars, it’s a 4.

A story of facing the pain of the past and building trust in a future. I have been hoping for Nora’s story and I had high expectation. Wow, the author gave me a story that was raw with emotion and respectful of life changing trauma. Nora has always felt she had to be strong but seeing Jack again brought so many vulnerabilities that she tried to escape. Jack follows and we begin to see the dark secrets inside Nora. Loved his patience and steadfastness, and of course the supportive B & A family. Beautiful read.

Just bruised.....not broken!

Nora felt she was broken, she ran, she hid and she faked it....for years. But seeing Jack again smashes all her illusions to smithereens, she realises the only person she is fooling is herself, and that by letting Jack and her 'brothers' in she is not showing weakness. She is healing and becoming stronger, because together they are all stronger.
It is awesome to watch Nora break free from her self inflicted chains and see her blossom in both confidence and happiness as she once again opens her heart to Jack and her team. This is a great final book in the series and I am thrilled we will also get a spin off too....so exciting!

Nora and Jack find their way back to each other after years apart. Pride, struggles, PTSD and more kept Nora from reaching out to Jack for years, but her Blade and Arrow family had her six and got her through some tough times. If Nora can put the past behind her, and confide in Jack, she can move forward - and hopefully everything will fall into place. Throw in some danger and off the chart chemistry between Jack and Nora and the palpable love emitting off the pages and you have a great read.

Worth the read! Book 6 in the series, but all can be read as standalones and in an order. I love this series and can't wait for the new one coming!

Wow! What a roller-coaster! I loved Nora. She went through so much, tried to handle everything on her own, and finally realized that cutting herself off from others wasn’t being strong. Being strong (and caring about others) is letting those who care for you help you when you need it. And Jack - could there be a more loving and supportive man? I hadn’t read any of the previous Blade and Arrow books, but now I want to get them all and see how the team came together. Loved this story and the relationships. Steam and action and all the feels!

An epic end to this series.

Jackson and Nora's story is an unbelievable way to end this series. It's full of action, twists and turns, and a love that can survive anything.

Years earlier Nora had abruptly ended things with Jackson. Her being in love with him was never the problem. Jackson never understood Nora's abrupt end to things and he's never been able to completely move on. Seeing each other at their friends wedding dregs up all the things they both wanted to put to rest. A freak accident will keep them together as they fight to find their way back to each other. If you haven't read any of the other books in this series this is definitely the one to start.

"Saved from Jeopardy" intricately weaves together passion and vulnerability. amidst a snowstorm. Nora and Jack's captivating chemistry combusts in a snowstorm. Cobie masterfully crafts a tale of redemption and forgiveness, with relatable characters navigating their struggles. Twists and heart-pounding action keep readers engaged. This satisfying conclusion to the Blade and Arrow Security series leaves hearts warmed with a fulfilling HEA.
This was a great series that I thoroughly enjoyed.

The last for this series, we finally get to find out Nora’s story. I must admit it didn’t have me quite on the edge of my seat like the others but it was still very enjoyable. There is still suspense and still romance with some drama and hot steamy scenes thrown in. I’m a bit sad the series is complete but am looking forward to cameos in the next series.

I am so sad that this series is over. I have loved all of the Blade and Arrow team members and their HEAs. The best was definitely saved for last. I have Nora from when she was first introduced and Jack is such a perfect match for her. His love for her, even through the hurt they had to endure and fight to be in a happy healthy place together. I just want more of these two!
