This is part two of the 'Fighting For Tomorrow' series. The books in this series should be read in order, starting with book one. This is a reverse harem series, which means the female lead character will end up in a relationship with more than one love interest. It is intended for reader aged 18+. Trigger warnings can be found at the beginning of the book.
This was pretty repetitive to me. I felt like the things that ACTUALLY happened in the book, could have been squeezed into 5-6 chapters. And in terms of the spice scenes, I felt like I was reading an omegaverse novel… This duet just didn’t check the boxes for me
Blinks...my gif game was strong with this book...and in the best way.
I was not prepared for the visceral real emotional responses to this book but one particular scene was so hugely impactful (even if with hindsight I maybe should've seen and prepared for it coming) it blew my mind
The entire book has been wrote so amazingly well, the character development was epically thought out, the relationship built beautifully.
The story turns you inside out, the emotions poured...the air was blue...the heat rose...the heart ached...those twists blink and blink again, no.words from them and the big reveal... whhhhhaaaatttt???
I have not read anything like this duet the books are totally one hundred percent in a new league. I need them in EVERY format I can get!
content was very repetitive...the first few pages were literally copied from the ending of the previous book. felt like the fmc intimate scenes were cut and pasted from guy to guy with only minor tweaks. and most frustrating of all was constantly being pulled out of the story by simple spelling and grammar things a proof reader should have caught... missing words, duplicate words, misspelled words, and phrases or word choices that characters who are supposed to be born and raised in the US wouldn't use. particularly the word "stood".... contextually would have made more sense to be standing based on the story being written in present tense and not past tense. author also forgot how old they said the kid was in book 1 and made him significantly younger in book 2.
Ok but what happened to 10, 11, and 12? I don’t recall reading that they were found dead or alive and if they weren’t found dead did they not care to save them? So confused.
Evie’s been taken again by Soloman. He took her in midday from the daycare center and held her at gunpoint and forced her into the trunk. She kicked out a taillight and was able to get a jagged piece of taillight to defend herself with. When he pulled over she attacked and stabbed him in the side and kicked him in the head. She was able to grab her phone from him and run into the woods to get away. She called the guys who were able to come get her. They took her home and eventually Soloman came back to get her by blowing up the fence. She and Zack were safe in the panic room, but they decided to go back to her parent’s house to draw him out and end this. Once there, Kyle, her brother, and her started butting heads because he wanted to know what exactly she went through and it was still too traumatic for her to relive, but the next day someone delivered a video to Kyle of her being tortured, letting them believe that somehow Soloman could hear inside the house. They went to stay at an apartment in the city to get away, but came back to search for bugs. They found two, but she also found a picture of the foster care kids whom her parents had taken care of, and found Soloman among them. Turns out his name was Jason and he’d lived with them for six months when she was younger. They assumed that’s why he let her go when she started reciting her families names during torture. He shows up in the house and holds her at gunpoint, but Nick was able to get her dad’s gun and shot and kills Soloman. There is a one month epilogue that indicates they are working towards their HEA.
Very repetitive compared to the first book, and was completely drawn out. The whole thing felt flat, and compared to the other series I really couldn't click with the main character. Not for me.
Review: I'm torn on this one, but I’m not sure if the issue is me or the author. This whole “tortured girl finds solace with a group of protective guys” formula is clearly the author’s signature, so I can’t really complain when I knowingly pick up another book and find it familiar. But at the same time… it’s starting to feel a little obsessive? I don’t know. As for this particular duet, while I appreciated the love and devotion from the guys, I wasn’t all that invested. Their arcs felt repetitive, and aside from Evie serving as a distraction, I didn’t see much real growth. It didn’t help that even the author seemed to mix up the characters a few times. Add in the spelling errors and inconsistencies, and it started to feel a little sloppy.
Plot-wise, Solomon’s actual identity wasn’t something we could really piece together, but his connection to Evie’s family? Painfully obvious. I get that she’s dealing with serious trauma, but as a reader, I wanted her to catch on sooner. And her brothers? The overbearing, smothering protectiveness was fine at first, but after the tenth round of them steamrolling her and the guys while she’s barely holding it together, it got old. Everyone grieves differently, sure—but maybe some empathy instead of constant control?
Overall, this book dragged and lost some of the momentum from book one. I liked the characters, but the repetition dulled their impact, and I just wanted more.
This books had a full potential, but fell flat by book 2.
Book 1 has been really good, shows how Evie dealt with the trauma and how the guys helped her through it. However, I got so annoyed with Evie’s character on the second book. Feels like all she did was cry and make dumb decisions.
Scenes I didn’t like:
1. When her brothers was convincing her to go home with them, she made a scene and all that drama because she didn’t want to go with them because she felt safer with the guys house; and then AFTER her brothers left and went home, she suddenly realized that she did want to go home. Like dude? Why cause all that drama in the first place? 🙄
2. When she found out that Kyle was watching her torture videos. (I know many people would disagree about this) But dude?! It’s normal for your FAMILY to want to know what had happened to you! I get that Kyle should’ve also respected Evie’s decision when she told them that she’s not yet ready for them to know her trauma. But how does she expect them to react? Especially when she has night terrors like hers? Of course they’d want to know! Maybe because they wanted to know how to help her how to handle the ‘nightmares’? That’s not a reason for you to leave you dumb bitch! That’s how bitches be dyin’! And of course because of your stupid decisions, you’ll add more to your trauma. I honestly think it’s your own doing at this point. 🫤
DNF at 70% of Book 2. Very Disappointing
Storyline: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ Smut: 🌶️🌶️ MMCs: (4) MMCs ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (Love how caring the MMcs) FMC: ⭐️⭐️⭐️ (She’s okay in Book 1 tho, she just becomes irritating in Book 2) Genre: Serial Killer, Kidnapped, Traumatized FMC, Ex-military MMCs, Single Dad (Nick), Childhood Sweethearts (Evie and Harrison), Found Family
✅ No Other woman drama, No scenes of MMCs with other women

I was highly anticipating the second book in the Fighting for Tomorrow series. Unfortunately, although I do really like the characters and the story overall, this was really repetitive and a little slow. Also, there were some parts that differed from the first book that were huge differences, and didn’t make any sense for example: • In book one the vehicle of Solomon was described as a blue Chevy. It was repeated several times and Evie says, “it’s definitely a Chevy.” However, in book 2 the car is now a Camry. • Zack, Nick’s son, is said to be “almost eighteen months”. Then in book two, Nick tells Evie’s brother’s he “just turned one last month”.
I think with some editing and some cleaning up, this could be really good! There were quite a few spelling and grammatical errors. I also think there are repetitive details in Evie’s thoughts and feelings (constantly saying the same things about the guys or how she feels with Solomon being around, etc.) that could be omitted as well. The intimacy scenes were pretty lackluster, which I’m okay with, but they seem to be exactly the same each time and again, repetitive. I’d love to see more conversations or time with each man and Evie to build those relationships and characters a bit more. I think book one did really good in that aspect.
I really liked the connection to who Solomon was, but I do wish it didn’t seem so rushed at the end.
💙 Contemporary Reverse harem 🧡 Traumatized FMC 💙 Four, ex-military MMCs 🧡 Serial killer suspense 💙Multi POV 🧡 No MM, FF, bullying or OW drama.
Book two in the Fighting For Tomorrow duet picks up from the end of book one. In this one you see the relationship between Evie and the Aleks, Kailan, Harris and Nick continue to grow and there is some spice in this one where there was none in book one. Everyone is on the hunt for the number serial killer. I was surprised at who it ended up being. I really enjoyed the plot and the story for the book but it could have used another proof read for grammar and spelling. The book delves into the trauma of what she suffered and the stress and the uncertainly of looking over her shoulder for when he will attack again. I would rate this a 3.5 ✨
There was so much potential. I liked the first one but this one felt so repetitive. It was so stagnant until finding out who the killer was in the last thirty minutes of the book, even then it felt rushed and anticlimactic. It seemed like all of the same issues there just wasn’t much of a build up. I understand she had trauma but it just explained two of the same flashbacks over and over and only one of them was relevant. Idk I thought it was just okay, I just wish there had been more details that were relevant and helped build the story. Also the spicy for each MMC was pretty much the same. It seemed like there wasn’t any individuality, I’m not sure how spicy this book was truly meant to be but the “spicy” scene were quite lackluster.
While the plot and characters were great, the editing was not, nor was the inconsistencies from the first book. Almost like beta readers, the author, nor editor re-read the first book, when reading this one, because yeah, it was annoying. Also, I now realize this author is not American, but if you are going to set a book in America, and have American characters then, I don’t thing the English should be in British English because they are not the same and a lot of it just did not sound right, like the line “ I saw him stood at the counter” anyways, I get if the character that is narrating was English or Australian, don’t get me wrong. Or book was based in either place. Anywho, the plot was great it kept me interested enough to over look these things.
3,5/5 i feel like a b*tch ranking this low but i think that’s what this book deserves the amount of plot twist that this book had left me speechless i think the author handled pretty well the development of their relationship and her emotions an example of that affirmation is her brother’s reaction left her scared even though she knew it was her brother (i don’t know if u guys understand what i’m trying to say) my favorite is still nick and now her brother matt too wished i could see the pov of her brothers as an attempt to understand their feeling as family that almost lost a member of it could say that i almost cried in some parts and i’m damn proud of my girl
Love this book but I'm definitely biased as I've read Livys series cover to cover multiple times. I really wanted to see Harris kick Kyle's ass this book. Also would have loved to see Evie throw it back in her brother's faces that livy was kidnapped twice while with them, that their property was broken into, and that Livy was so much more vulnerable seeing as she had been kidnapped almost her entire life and had no family left other than the brothers!!! Totally loved the series and can see why none of that happened but I love a little pettiness.

I liked this duet (not sure there’ll be more), it was a great story. My only complaints were that it got a bit repetitive after a while, so I skimmed quite a few pages and it took nothing away from the story; and the books need a good editing, or maybe even just a proofreading (especially book 2). There were things that stuck out, for example in book one the kidnapper’s vehicle was an old rusted Chevy, Zack’s mom’s name was Kayla, and Zack could speak (he gave each of the guy’s shorter versions of their names and he said a few other words). However, in book 2 the vehicle was a Camry, the name Abby was used for Zack’s mom, and Zack’s first word was da da after he had issues with not speaking at all.
Oh what a duet. Never saw that coming with how it ended but finally it’s the end. Evie was one amazing character, through strength and determination just proved you can get through anything with the right sources. A very dark and beautiful read. I absolutely loved how the story was thrown into different phases, a past now a future but also a past that never seen coming.
I’m new to Kerry Taylor and after this read I assume I’m missing a story before this one with Evie’s brothers.
How does so much happen and yet nothing at all at the same time? This series is one you need to read in a short period. Like in a day. It's so binge-worthy but once you set it down and the "wtf is going to happen next" wears off its a ROUGH time getting back into it.

I may not be good enough, but I would die keeping her safe and always do all I could to make her happy. I would spend the rest of my life just trying to be good enough, if she’d have me. -pg 34
"Believe it or not, this isn’t our first serial killer hunting a member of our family,” -pg 158
Great ending to the duet and I want to thank the author for including all of the previous characters from the prior series. I hope Asher and Eli's story is next.
My one fault with the book is the numerous typos and grammatical errors. I know Indie authors don't have a lot of budget, but maybe find readers who are eagle eyed and that would be willing to help with free books, early release or something.
I loved Kerry Taylor and her broken FMC🤩 I just found part of this book a bit boring time to time. There were too long monologues about Evie's trauma and PTSD in my opinion. The end felt a bit rushed and I didn't buy it at all. Anyway, still good and I really look forward reading Taylor's next books!
I loved this so much. It really was an emotional rollercoaster but such a good ending to this duet. I couldn't turn the pages fast enough, eager to know how things were going to unfold. Very much enjoyed!
(There were some plot holes/mistakes, however, and some grammatical stuff that distracted from the storyline).
I loved the first book and was so excited when the second book exceeded all my expectations! Beautiful written and leaves you guessing at who in the world it could be. I had a suspicion that it was going to be someone she knew but didn’t see the turn it took out of left field. HIGHLY recommend this series!!
The second book in this series really heated up the action with the serial killer. Evie is really coming along in a good way with her relationships to the guys. I loved the ending to such an intense story. Good writer
The book was alright, but it felt like a filler book. I was a bit disappointed when it came to the steamer scenes, they went but so quickly. There could have been more to the book but it felt rushed in the end. Anywho, it was good but it could have been better.
Good story, however it really needs editing. Continuity errors throughout, the names of characters wrong and a lot of spelling mistakes. I think if it was really thoroughly edited, then it would've been a solid 4* read for me.
