What initially looks like a business dispute gone wrong quickly sees Charlie mired in a whole new world she never knew existed. To get to the bottom of this, she’s going to have to go undercover. But hey, if anyone can blend into a new situation without getting into heaps of trouble, it’s Charlie, right?

With Charlie’s case quickly turning into much more than she initially thought, she finds herself wondering if maybe she’s bitten off more than she can chew. Will she find the killer before she becomes fish food?

This series has completely jumped the shark. If anyone threatened an ongoing FBI operation with exposure, especially with the lives of agents at risk, the FBI would simply pick that person up for questioning or for interfering with an official investigation and hold them until the operation was over. They wouldn’t give in to petty civilian interference. And they’d be 100% in the right.

Also, it’s strange that the author has been putting the heroine in much more dangerous situations while still portraying her as having no real skills other than pluck and stubbornness. If someone changes careers and becomes a P.I., it isn’t too much to expect that they’d train, especially when their life, or the lives of others, could depend on it. It’s a jarring disconnect in the internal world of the novels.

I like fun mysteries with plucky female detectives, but the fictional world still needs to have an internal logic that makes sense.

Dolphin Danger is Book 11 in the Charlotte Gibson Mystery series by Jasmine Webb.
I absolutely love this series and it keeps getting better and better, if that's possible.

Charlie is hired to find who killed a local businessman.
There is no shortage of suspects with two brothers as business partners, a disgruntled employee and the wife as the main suspects.

I love how Charlie's friends Dot and Rosie help her along the way with their special skills.

The mystery was so well done, and I love the setting.

I was totally surprised by who the murdered was!

Highly recommend this book and the entire series!

Disappointed

I've read all the books in this series so far. Suspension of disbelief is needed in every case. And I'm fine with that. That's why it's called fiction. However, in this book the problem is so egregious I just can't overlook it. From the major continuity error to the violation of law enforcement procedure that just wouldn't happen, especially not with a little friendly blackmail, I felt the FBI had been insulted. I was ready to give up on this book and this author. In the end, I decided to finish the book so I could give the author another chance with the next book, but I felt I had to leave a review to justify my rating.

I love this series, but I have to admit this was not one of my favorites in the series. Well, we had a really good mystery with Dot and the gang the overall larger mystery in the book felt short for me. I have to say the spark between Jake and Charlie kind of fell flat for me. There wasn’t much going on between the two of them.
But like I said, I adore this series and will keep reading them. I never thought I’d hear myself say this, but I think I miss the excitement of the ham brothers.

Wow! Just Wow!

Loved loved loved this book! Charlie is a great character! Bat shit crazy but still so awesome. Rosie & Dot are right there with her every step of the way solving not one, not two, but three cases!! Looking forward to the next book.

Another Excellent Cozy Mystery

Thank you for another exciting Charlotte Gibson Mystery. I always enjoy this series. I especially like Dot and Rosie. They both are so slick and sneaky when helping Charlie. Go Seniors!

Maui Vacation

I'm a well traveled woman but have never been to Hawaii. I feel like I'm on vacation with Charlie while reading this series. I love visualizing what she is doing and enjoy all of the scenery on this trip. I especially enjoy Dot and Rosie's very intriguing skill set.

I've read all in this series, in order and have really enjoyed every one. Actually I'm saving Kalikimaka Killer (Charlotte Gibson Mysteries Book 6) to read during Christmas season.
I've enjoyed them ALL and each has been engaging, entertaining and a fun!

Not one of my favs, so much so cant think of a rating. Love the series but this one had too many serious themes for this series. I like the light banter and humor. Ill keep reading to see if this was a one off.

Same structure as the previous books. Trod to mix it up by sending Charlie “undercover”, but it was not believable at all. The end leaves you once again questioning Charlie’s judgment. Dot and Rosie continue to be the star characters of this series.
