Penny and her friends are in Mexico enjoying the sun and sand to celebrate their twenty-fifth birthdays. They’re down to their last two days when Penny spots a gorgeous guy holding a surfboard and can’t stop thinking about him. Maybe a vacation fling is just what she needs. Enter Alec Blair. He’s sweet, sexy, and has a filthy mouth that turns her inside out. She’s sort of afraid that one night is not enough. When she finds out he lives in the same town, things change quickly.
This was supposed to be a work trip for Alec—no women, just work and surfing. That all went out the window the second he spotted the most gorgeous woman he’d ever seen in the pool. He needs to see her again. Talk to her, touch her. Even if it’s just for one night. Except, once he meets her, he knows one night will never be enough. Then fate throws him for a loop. They live in the same town. Maybe, just maybe, Alec can convince Penny to take a chance on him.
A steamy vacation fling boils over onto the real world. Alec and Penny have a difficult time determining if their relationship is purely physical or is it the "real thing". With a little help from their friends Alec and Penny work through their feelings. I liked the friend group and hope there are more stories to come. It felt a bit juvenile at times but it's a perfect sizzling beach read.
WHAT HAPPENS ON HOLIDAY STAYS ON HOLIDAY , right . Well that might not be the case for Penny and Alec. On a girls holiday in Cancun with her friends, Penny is having the time of her life and when she spots Alec at the pool after coming in from the surf , looking all handsome. Alec is thinking when he sees Penny a night will be fun but as they get to know each other both of them are thinking maybe one night won't be enough. When they find out they are from the same town things are looking up but when they get home things don't go as planned and hearts will be broken. Will they both over come the insecurities they have and realize that they belong together. Penny and Alec what can you say about them. Alec is kind of sexy geek with a bad boy mouth on him. But, there is an insecurity to him. He might just want a real relationship and not a fling. He is one of those men that women would love to have in their lives . He can be demanding when he want something and the something is Penny. Penny is having fun and celebrating her birthday when she meets Alec. She comes off as a confident woman but there is as underlying sadness to her. It seems she has been hurt and doesn't want to jump into a relationship . Sex is what she wants and with Alec it is mind blowing . She has trouble with true feeling and when they bubble up that is when the problems start for the couple. With the help of their friends they try and find their way back to each other . These two are a fun couple and well written , you feel like you are in a real relationship with these two . This is the first book in a new series for this author. She takes us on a fun filled vacation story that you will want to have . The characters are well written and the author does show the vulnerability in both of them through out. I did enjoy the book but there were moments where I just wanted to slap both of them upside the head for the sheer stubbornness of both of them. This is one of those books that have lots of romantic times and also some miscommunications which will actually have you laughing in some areas . This would be a fun book to read on your summer vacation or just a day at the beach . Check it out .
Surfing for Love is a contemporary romance novel written by the author Bree Kraemer, published in March 2024. It is the debut book in the Shore Thing series. The plot revolves around Penny, the protagonist, and the relationship between her and Alec Blair. It’s Penny’s twenty-fifth birthday in Mexico, and she’s spending it with her friends, soaking up the sun and sand. The last two days of their trip are about to end, and Penny sees a gorgeous man with a surfboard by the pool, and she can’t help but wonder if she might be in the right place for a holiday romance. Alec Blair is hot, sexy, and has a naughty mouth that will get her going. She’s a bit worried that one date won’t be enough, but when she finds out he lives in her hometown, things quickly escalate. Alec had planned his trip as a business trip, no women involved, just work and surfing. That all changed when he saw the most gorgeous woman he’d ever seen, and he needed to see her again. He needed to speak to her, talk to her, touch her, even just for one night. What would come next? Would he ever see her again? To find the answers, join Penny and Alec on their incredibly thrilling and enjoyable quest. The tale is really thrilling and enjoyable, with plenty of sultry moments. The book is quite a fascinating read, with a length of about 230 pages. Highly recommended from my side.
Surfing for Love was such a pleasant surprise. I went into it with very low expectations since it was free on Amazon and had only a few reviews on Goodreads, but it ended up being a really nice palate cleanser.
It has the typical miscommunication you often get in rom coms, which can be a bit frustrating, but in this case it worked and kept things entertaining. There is also plenty of spice, which I was not mad about at all. Because the book is only about two hundred pages long, the story moves fast and never really drags.
Overall, this was a fun, light and easy read, perfect if you are in between heavier books or just want something quick and enjoyable.
Who would have thought that you could find love on vacation with only two day of it left? Just read this book and find out how Penny and Alec find each other, fall for each other, the complications of their relationship and how things turn out. I've never been on a vacation like this but sounds like a pretty good way to have one.
Penny's in Mexico with her friends to celebrate their 25th birthdays. She spots a handsome surfer and thinks he might be fun. Alec didn't want to meet Penny, but their one night together wasn't enough. They live in the same town. Can they get their second chance?
This was a very fast paced love at first sight story. Loved the characters. Penny sees Alec from across the room and she can't wait to meet him after all it's just going to be vacation sex right hmm. you'll have to read to find out.
Basic story of sexual attraction with very little character development. Surfing was next to nothing in the story. He showed her how to surf the morning after they met and then at the end of the book they remembered that morning.
I barely made it through this. No character development. I like fluffy romances, but this book revolves around sex and then jumps to I'll love you forever. I'm no prude but seriously????
