This is book one in The Heart of Maplewood Grove series and it is Cleo and York’s story. Cleo and York have history because they used to both live in Maplewood Grove until Cleo left. Cleo couldn’t stay any longer in her hometown because she needed to live her own life without her mother constantly bringing her down and making Cleo’s life difficult and even though it would be hard to leave because she would miss her father so much but it is something that she needed to do for herself. Now twenty years later Cleo is a successful beauty entrepreneur until she received a call saying that her father has early onset dementia so now Cleo is in a crossroads of her life and returns to Maplewood Grove so that she can care for her father along with all the good and bad memories that she thought that she had left behind. York loves the life that he lives on his farm even if he is sometimes lonely but when he finds out that Cleo is back in town he sees that she is even more beautiful than ever and he would love to get to know her again. The more time that Cleo and York spend together the deeper their connection grows but there relationship will not be plain sailing and there will be many ups and downs along the way so you find yourself hoping that they could make it work and get through everything so that they will have the happiness and future that they both deserve. I love how this story is about a mature couple and with everything that they have gone through and still dealing with and yet they still keep working and trying together to make sure everything works out for them in their lives. I read this book in one sitting and really enjoyed it and I look forward to reading the next book in this series.
Heartbreaking nostalgia riddled second chance romance. Cleo upped and left town a couple of decades ago to get from her mother’s constant put downs. When her father develops early onset dementia, she comes home to face her past and care for her father. York hears that Cleo is back in town and although he loves life on his farm, it doesn’t stop him wanting to get to know the beautiful Cleo again. Poignant romantic story well told with empathy of the illness that hits so many families lives cruelly. The story primarily focuses on the mature couple and their relationship and conflicts. Great writing, illuminating characters and storytelling.

"Memories on Main Street" by Eliza Ester is a heartfelt story about family, nostalgia, and love. It celebrates the complexities of human relationships and the timeless allure of small-town life. Eliza Ester has created relatable characters navigating the challenges of reconciling their pasts with their present, finding love, and forgiveness in the process. I enjoyed having a story with older main characters, and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.

This book was definitely different with the main characters being in their 40’s versus 20’s and 30’s. There was so much respect for how a terminal illness was dealt with along with learning how to communicate to get past childhood hurts. Cleo and York’s story shows how the very best can come from two people who open their hearts again.

Enjoy the later in life characters and them looking for romance and love when romance and love weren't looking for them. There might be a couple of bumps in the road along the way. Like the characters and the personalities they have. The conversation and interaction is fun to read. It's interesting to read how characters that are set in their ways have to adapt to changes around them. Good read.

She is CEO of a Cosmetics company in Chicago, suddenly thrust back into her home town to take care of her father. Tensions are high in her relationship with her mother. A new love could be on the horizon. Will she give up the city and move home for good? Or will she go back to the city and potentially lose the man of her dreams. Such a poignant story. So much hurt between Cleo and her mother. I am looking forward to Lila’s story next.
A sweet romance. The tale mostly is about mother/daughter relationship and father's dementia. The couple do reach out to each other as past friends and eventually do get their happily ever after. A short story and because of this it is a fairly shallow one. I received a copy via Booksprout. My review is voluntary.
The first book in The Maplewood Grove series brings Cleo and York's story. It's a second chance romance with the author taking you into their lives with her dealing with her father's illness and her relationship with her mother. It's a heartfelt story and I enjoyed reading.

This is a sweet small town romance with characters you can relate to. It's well written and filled with compassion, emotion, heartache, joy and clean, old fashion romance. I enjoyed the depth and inspiration of the story. You'll find it hard to put down.

There is a lot packed into this first book with Cleo and York. The story was so beautiful. All that they each were going through to get them to be together. It was absolutely beautiful and I could not put the story down. I am looking forward to the next one.

A clean, sweet romance that delves into a mother/daughter relationship. This story reminds us that when we try to protect our heart, we in turn hurt those we love. Great characters and a lovely storyline.

I started out liking the book, but was soon turned off by it. Too much strangeness in the characters relationships with each other. And one character seemed totally out of place. As a matter of fact I didn't actually finish the book. I got too tired of it.
Loved it… Took a while to read only because I most recently lost my parents…one of which suffered from Dementia…so my emotions were raw…. But finally read to the end and absolutely loved it….can’t wait for next book in this series to come out
This was a good but difficult read. Because of strained relationships & the father's dementia being worse than she thought. Situations because tense and uncomfortable.
