I never knew I’d want this kind of life. Surrounded by four powerful shifters who’d literally kill to protect me, falling for every one of them…and fated to be theirs.
But fate has a funny way of screwing with you. Because the more I learn about who I am, and the deeper my bond with them becomes, the more I realize what we’re up against.
Because it’s up to us to save Sherwood. And I know we’re stronger together…but are we strong enough to shake this kind of powerful evil for good?
I’m not the girl who dreams of happy endings. I don’t need a perfect fairytale.
I won't be reviewing too long on this one. I should've read my critiques of the last book because maybe I wouldn't have tried. This series started with a bang and promise. Then spent two books hastily throwing things at us broken up by group sex scenes and not a lot of connection
The first two books were alright, but this one? Yeah, the series stops here for me. Every single character became boring and annoying, and the story just… went nowhere. Nothing new, nothing exciting — just the same cycles and the same arguments.
And honestly, in a reverse harem you expect the group to eventually function like a team, even if they’re chaotic or different. But here? They worked together about as well as a terrible school project group where everyone hates each other and no one does their part.
So thankfully book 3 picked right up where book 2 left us, hanging on to a big ol' cliffie, so we can finally see how that end plays out. I'm a little bit confused on the hideaway they find. For some reason, I'm struggling to "see" it in my head, so maybe the author can commission some artwork to show us the vision.
I didn't see much growth in Maren, or the guys for that matter. Their characters seem pretty static, though the spicey scenes seem to have increased a good bit, which is entertaining. I'm really hoping we see more growth in both the story lines and the characters. Like others said, this feels more like a filler book but I do feel like there was a lot more action and things going on then in book 2, so it got that extra star for that. I really like the different take of Robin Hood meets shifters that the author has taken with the overall story arc so I'm going to hang in there and see where we go next.
This series is starting to decline for me. I’m still going to read the last book so I know how it ends but the 3rd book truly was just trapped in an endless cycle.
Maren gets the guys to help with a scheme or a plan, they execute the plan, something fails, they go back to their hide out, the guys argue and fight, maren tells them stop, they have sex, and repeat. It was just an endless loop which kind of just bored me. And it doesn’t really feel like a good harem anymore without any group scenes. Just a lot of one off sex with one of the guys.
Really do wish the author had better editor for all the silly mistakes labeled in the book such as repeat sentences and wording. I also wish we would have the guys perspective from their point of view in some of the narration. At times it feels like Maren is missing out on a lot of information which makes the readers think that too.
This is the third book in the series, following Marian and her magical merry men Rob, Will, Tuck and LJ. This instalment delivers a bit more magic, more shifting and running from the law. But it didn’t hit as well as book 1. I wanted the storyline to rock my world, take me on a rollercoaster ride, but it was a little too slow, as though this may be a filler book before the next. Sure there was more group scenes, and spice as they fall harder for each other, but unlike a mind-blowing movie, it felt like an episode, holding your interest enough to want to hear how it all ends in the big finale. I still enjoyed it, and I’m a fan of the characters and Robin Hood retelling, but I’m really hoping the next one will answer all the questions book 1-3 have brought up. 3.5 ⭐️ 3 🌶️
I really was excited when i started reading this series as I loved the Disney Robin Hood. And I really enjoyed book 1. I enjoyed book 2 a little less but still liked it but this one . . . it fell a little flat. Was there some spice in it? Yes and I loved that but this book sort of felt like a filler because there's going to be another one!
Secrets and more secrets keep being revealed but they don't have any plans or anything. It's just 'let's wing it' and improvise style which I'm okay with sometimes but when they do it constant, it sort of feels eh.
I will still read book 4 and I really hope I will love it just like I did book 1. I will not give up on this series.
This series has been so fascinating and incredibly hard to put down! I just keep wanting to see what will happen next! This one was a bit on the slower end when compared to the other two stories, but that didn’t stop it from being such an incredible journey!
I love Marian so much🙌😍 The magical aspects were high in this one, and it was perfect. I'm so stoked to see what the author has in store for us in book four!
I was a little bit lost for words at the end of this book. All for good reasons because I’m not often surprised but Jade R Evans definitely succeeded in that!!
Not wanting to give too much away as we are mid series but what I can is, that it’s such a interesting take on the Robin Hood legend. So much tension & the spice!!! Why choose indeed!! I definitely have a thing for all things Robin Hood so this series is a treat for me. There is a bit of a cliffhanger but book 4 is expected around April.
I definitely recommend you taking a look with the first book: Captive Of Outlaws, and enjoy!
I'm loving this series so far. We pick up right from the end of the second, fleeing from those trying to capture them. I love how the men are protective towards Maren and she does what she wants anyway. The story is action packed even when they are just looking for evidence. LJ is by far my favourite, his inner strength and how he is with Maren is great to witness. That twist at the end, I can't wait to see what happens in the conclusion to the series.
Book one was a hit and it hold a lot of promise. Since this is book 3 i was expecting plot development and character growth. All three books to me have been the same. The are just going with the flow and not have an actual plan. Lots of spice and orgies. This series would be a total hit if it actually gave back story and information on the shifters and where they come from. Also, the same thing but for the secret society of hunters as well.
These are good! The story is just so good. Like you keep thinking of Robin Hood because obviously that’s the way it goes, but it’s got a great twist and love story! I’ve read other shifter things and I hope these guys find their knowledge on their own kind… I want to know myself! But I also can’t quit reading because the twists and turns come from no where and it’s capturing!!!
I liked this book more than the second book, mainly because it feels like the plot is really going somewhere, and we start to find out more about what powers Maren has.
There was so much action that happened in this book, and it kept me on my toes and turning the pages. I just wish we got more answers to questions about Guy that I didn't even have until the second half of this book.
Anyway, onto the next one! I can't wait to see how this series wraps up.
This series started out really promising and I loved the fact this was a Robin Hood retelling of sorts. I devoured the 1st book and the first half of the second book. However, things really fell off for me around the 60% mark and stayed the same in this book.
Im not sure if it was the characters that stared to fall flat for me or if the story being all over the place but it just didn’t hit the same the way the first book did. I found myself so bored and skipping ahead.
I enjoyed the first two books of this series. However, it just feels unnecessarily drawn out now. The characters keep having the same arguments over and over again and it’s taking too long to really advance the plot. Additionally, I find the characters, especially Maren, are getting more annoying as time goes on. I know there is a 4th book in the series but the ending of this one feels final enough for me that I don’t feel the need to continue.
This third book in the series finally answered all the questions the first two books raised. Who is Maren? What is her and the other shifters of Sherwood's purpose? Who is Guy? What drives him? Although this book still ends on a big cliffhanger, I feel like I can see the story potential more clearly now that we understand more about Sherwood.
This was a difficult read, things are not great for Maren and the guys. With everyone at each others throats, tearing chunks from each other and trust in short supply, things just seem to go from bad to worse. I love these characters and honestly I can’t wait to see how the author ties all of this together in the next book.
Another great book to continue the series. This one is a little more laid back than the others, being that not a whole lot happens simply because they really need to regroup and find a way to approach everything in a smart way, but you still have plenty of spicy scenes, explosions, and of course that cliffhanger of an ending!
Well the turn this took was certainly unexpected! We got some good background on Will in this book and learned more about the why behind Guy’s nonsense. I like the idea of where this is going and the spice we got in this was good but still mild. It definitely is another vibes read in this series but I’m intrigued to see how she decides to wrap everything up in the last book.
I loved the first two! And this one did not disappoint but now I have a better understanding of everything! Granted stuff between Maren and the guys isn’t the greatest but hopefully the next book will fix and tie everything back together!!
I'm really enjoying this Robin Hood retelling as Maren and the guys are in the run with a lot of tension between them and trying to reveal Guy Gisbourne's secrets. Steamy, enthralling and exciting. Looking forward to the next book.
There are not enough words to describe how much of a chokehold this book had me in as I read tension was hight and the spice was spicing bonds were tested and Maren learned more about her past and acceptance of her future in Sherwood with her men
OKAY THIS IS BOOK 3 IN THE SERIES🥰. I LOVE ROBIN HOOD THIS TAKES IT TO A WHOLE OTHER LEVEL. THE STORY IS ABOUT MAREN POINT OF VIEW. IT WAS AMAZING AND SHE FOUND OUT MORE ANOUT HER MOM IN THIS BOOK! 🔟🔟 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️
Yet another excellent installment into this brilliant Robin Hood retelling. This series has me hooked, I love the way they're all bonded in their special way; the fact that there's still so much we don't know and I am here for more! Definitely recommend!
This series just adds more and more things each chapter of each book! These characters, this story. As we learn more of the past and more about each one it just delves further. And the ending of this one!
This is book three of the Shifters of Sherwood series. This one is full of action and chaos. Plus, there are a bunch of spicy scenes, too. They are on the run and trying to get Rob out of jail and take down the bad guy. Fun times!
My gosh I just love this Robin Hood retelling. Except, Maren gets all the props in this book for sure. She is badder than she thinks she can be. She goes through it in this one. Can't wait for book 4
Eh not the best. The plot is murky, and it was way too short. I’m starting to lose interest. Also, the intentions behind saving Sherwood isn’t there anymore.
