When I kissed her in that crowded bar, I had no idea she was my coach’s daughter. I know better, believe me. It’ll never happen again.

I’m on the cusp of hanging up my hockey skates forever while embroiled in a custody battle for my young daughter. I have no business getting involved with any woman. Least of all the one that’s totally off limits.

Chloe, meanwhile, is embarking on a new chapter in life, determined to push aside pesky signs of impending middle age and focus on fun and adventure. Which means she has no problem exercising her flirting skills–or flaunting her impressive hockey moves and sultry good looks. In fact, I think she enjoys torturing me.

When I need a nanny to prove to the judge I have the means to take care of my daughter, Chloe steps in as the perfect solution.

Before I know it, she’s moved into my house, filling it with her vibrant energy and charm, and winning over both my daughter and me. It’s getting harder and harder to deny I have a crush on my coach’s daughter, my kid’s nanny. Suddenly, Chloe isn’t the only one breaking out into night sweats…

Swoons, growls and forever

I loved this grump-sunshine, single dad, forced proximity, forbidden sports romance. The story had the perfect balance of humor, heartwarming love, real life issues, and spice as seen through the eyes of intense, strong and passionate characters. It just made me happy to read about these two 30 and 40 year olds dealing with the messy parts of real life once some of the shine has worn off and still find love, passion, and fun. Niko is a professional hockey goalie about to start the final year of his career. He is divorced and a single dad to 7 year old Ayana who he is in a custody fight over. Chloe is a widow and was a 3rd grade teacher. She’s the daughter of the head coach for a Niko’s hockey team. She recently moved to Tampa to restart her life including starting a hockey rec league. Niko and Chloe travel separately to Toronto to attend the All Stars game, meet in a bar, and share a passionate kiss but life keeps it from going further. Now that they are both in Tampa, they keep running into each other and their sexual chemistry is still off the charts. But Nico needs to focus on his daughter and the custody case and Chloe is not interested in another relationship. When Nico desperately needs a nanny to show the court he can take care of his daughter, Chloe agrees to the job. Living in the same house and caring for Nico’s daughter is its own brand of torture. Despite agreeing to be friends, Chloe and Niko’s chemistry sizzled off the page and it pulled them together no matter how hard they tried to resist being more. What follows the inevitable giving in to their passion is a wonderful journey of growls, missteps, baggage unpacking, inner voice finding, and life course correction. This heartwarming story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, deep emotions, and an engaging storyline. I am loving this series.

Sylvie and Marika teaming up to write was an excellent decision. Their writing style is hilarious. "Night Sweats and Hockey Nets" is the second light-hearted book in the quirky Rom Com series "Hot Flash Hookups." It's a feel-good story featuring forced proximity and the single dad trope, filled with witty banter that will leave you wanting more.

The journey in the book is flirty, sexy, steamy, and realistic. The characters are older than usual, which I appreciate, as Sylvie and Marika handle it so well. Chloe is determined to start anew despite menopause, and Nico might just be the one to help her. However, he must convince a judge that his daughter should live with him. Let the enticing and charming adventure begin!

This story is a delightful mix of drama, romance, and laughter.

I was honoured to receive this as an advance copy and this is my honest review.

This is one of the few books I have read so quickly because I loved it so much, I could not put this down. I would even say I was proud to have a book hangover.

This is the adult version of a fairy tale (including all the incredibly hot, spicy and steamy parts.)

There is the King, a Queen, a Princess and an Evil Wicked Witch. Let's not forget instead of the King's noble stead - he has a German Shepherd called Paul!

Once upon a time our King Nikolai Drugov was also a goalie for the Florida Storm Chasers ice hockey team.

Previously when our King was in Toronto playing at an All Star event little did he know he would meet someone we will know in the future as the Queen.

At this time our King was worried because the Evil Wicked Witch was holding the Princess captive. King Nikolai refused to let this happen so eventually him and the Queen who has a heart of gold came together to work as a team to rescue the Princess from the Evil Wicked Witch.

What happens to this story? What happens to the Evil Wicked Witch? Can there ever be any happy endings for all of these characters before these two amazing authors - Marika Ray & Sylvie Stewart write those two magic words 'The End'

Hockey Player Niko is focused on his career and his young daughter. The biggest issue in his life right now is his ex who keeps playing games with their custody arrangement. When he meets Chloe at a bar, he tries to ignore her but her unusual banter has them embracing in an unforgettable kiss. Little does he know she is the coaches daughter. Trying to focus on his daughter, he doesn't want to explore anything with Chloe but when she agrees to be his nanny it becomes even more difficult to stay away from her? Could it be fate throwing them together or will they ignore the signs?

This was so much fun. The first chapter draws you in right away, such a great series that keeps getting better. I felt for Niko, he is trying to do right by his daughter. Chloe is amazing, loved her character.

Night Sweats and Hockey Nets is book 3 of the Hot Flash Hookups series. It's a funny, steamy, instalove. OTT, midlife, opposites-attract, forced-proximity, curvy girl gets her hockey player romance. Nikolai "Niko" is a hunky, grumpy, professinal hockey goalie and single dad. He is close to retiring and in a custody battle with his ex for his daughter, Ayana, who is his world. Chloe is a sweet, sassy, and curvy 42 year old widow. She lost her husband after a prolonged illness and has moved home to be closer to her father and start living again. Her father happens to be Niko’s coach. The two meet at a bar and share a heated kiss, only for Niko to get a call regarding his daughter. The two part ways but keep thinking about the kiss. They cross paths again when his coach introduces his daughter, Chloe. Niko decides she is off-limits, but Chloe is still having fun flirting with him. When he needs a nanny to help his custody case, Chloe steps in to help. Will Niko be able to resist her? OMG, this has become one of my favorite series...Niko's messed up Russian phrases, and Chloe's sass and perimenopaus symptoms had me rolling. These characters are so relatable, and Ayana is completely adorable. She has the best logic when it comes to dogs, lol. The chemistry between these two was hot, and we did get a great HEA after the drama. This was a great addition to the series.

Oh my! So hot and such a great read
Such an amazing story that I devoured in one sitting.
Once I started reading I could not put my Kindle down until I’d finished it.
So much made this an incredible reading experience.
- How brave Chloe was in reinventing herself and becoming a confident and sexy woman
- I adored the flirty, hilarious banter between Niko and Chloe
- Niko’s growly demeanour, weird sayings and need to be in control of everything
- Some really hot 🔥 steamy scenes between the two
- A cute little girl who just wants to see and be with her dad and her new puppy
- The amount of times I laughed out loud at the comical going ons in this story
There is so much more to this story but best you find out by reading this book yourself, you won’t regret it.
You’ll absolutely love it!

Hot and funny hockey romance. Add in a dog, small child, lots of hot hockey players and a widow...what do you get but lots of steamy heat that will melt the ice even if a certain hockey player remains clueless.

This is a well written later in life/hockey romance with strong characters in Chloe and Nikolai a single dad to his daughter Ayana. It's an entertaining grumpy/sunshine story, moves fluidly with perfectly painted scenes and is an enjoyable read.

Fighting for His Daughter . . .

This storyline is adorable with characters the reader can quickly like and cheer for. Nikolai Drugov, goalie for the Storm Chasers hockey team, is in the midst of a legal battle as he tries to obtain joint custody of his daughter, Ayana. He meets a woman at a bar and enjoys a passionate kiss just as a phone call from his lawyer interrupts them before anything further can occur. When he later joins the gang at the coach’s house, he realizes that the sexy woman, Chloe, is the coach’s daughter and that makes her definitely hands-off! But when he needs a nanny to show he is able to care for Ayana properly even when work intervenes, Chloe offers to step in and help. With her sunshine personality, both Nikolai and Ayana are charmed. Even the judge is impressed at Chloe’s credentials, background, and awesome testimony that left no doubt she was absolutely perfect as Ayana’s nanny. Will Nikolai fall in love with her? Will they choose to become a real family? Or is the custody battle with Peyton still an obstacle to their happiness?

Fantastic Series

I love what these two authors have created with their series involving hot hockey guys and the hot flashing fantastic women that steam up their world! I've truly enjoyed each book, but there is something extra special about the stoic, gruff, but very sweet Nikoli that really stole my heart.

Night Sweats and Hockey Nets is the third book in the Hot Flash Hookups series. The dynamic duo of Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart have brought the heat once again... and I'm not referring to hot flashes!

Nikolai is focused on two things...getting joint custody of his daughter Ayana and his hockey career. When he meets a beautiful and flirtatious woman named Chloe in a bar, they exchange a heated kiss that is interrupted by a call from his lawyer. Even though he knew it was for the best, he couldn't seem to get her out of his thoughts. They say everything happens for a reason, and the reason is made apparent while attending a cookout at his coach's house. Nikolai finds out that Chloe is the coach's daughter...and that makes her off limits to him. However, that theory is tested when she becomes the nanny for Ayana.

Chloe has recently left behind her life in Madison, Wisconsin, and moved to Tampa Bay to be closer to her father. Her husband passed away about a year ago, and she is ready for a fresh start. She may not be looking for marriage, but she is definitely ready for some companionship. She's in Toronto for the NHL All-Star week and has a flirty encounter with NHL goalie Nikolai Drugov at a bar. Things get a bit steamy, but it quickly ends when he has to take a call from his lawyer. Her father always told her to stay away from hockey players, but there is something about Nikolai that has Chloe wanting to ignore that advice.

The story that unfolds is well-written with an amazing cast of characters. Nikolai is a bit grumpy but so lovable at the same time. His devotion to his daughter is beyond admirable, and I love the relationship he has with Ayana. Chloe has been through a lot in the last few years of her marriage, and I love that she is reinventing herself. I also love how she didn't hesitate to help out Nikolai when he needed help.

Overall, this is just a wonderful story. Nikolai and Chloe have an undeniable chemistry, and the heat between them is off the charts. I love the witty banter, especially with Nikolai mixing up American phrases. Ayana is absolutely adorable and adds a lot of humor and feels to the story. I couldn't help but laugh at her reasoning for having two dogs, as well as the names she mentions. It just happens to be one of my tv obsessions...lol. The supporting cast of characters will be recognized from the previous books in this series, and it is fun catching up with them as well. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. However, I highly recommend reading the entire series.

I received an ARC from the authors. My views are my own and are in no way influenced by anyone else.

OMG - just perfect!
Nikolai is a grumpy hockey goalie, playing for the Florida Storm Chasers. His focus is on the game, and his daughter, of whom he's trying to get joint custody.
Chloe recently moved to Tampa to be near friends and family. Her husband died a year ago, after a long illness, and she finally feels like it's time to move forward.
They meet in a bar in Toronto, of all places. He's there for the All-Star game and she's visiting friends. They each have their reasons for being in the bar, and they flirt for a bit. They share nothing more than a kiss before he gets a call and has to leave, regretting a little that he didn't at least get her number.
Not long later and Nikolai is at his coach's house in Tampa for a team BBQ, and coach introduces his daughter. Chloe. The air between them still crackles, but this is even more reason that he cannot get involved with her.
OMG the tension is so hot! They have wicked chemistry, but as much as she tries to get him to admit it, he insists they can't be together. He respects her father too much, and he has his daughter to consider. He can't do anything that could jeopardize his custody case.
Except when he needs a nanny to prove he can provide a stable environment for his daughter, and Chloe steps in to help. Her background as a teacher makes her perfect for the role. Before he knows it, Chloe is moved into his house, taking care of his daughter, who just loves Chloe.
Nikolai is determined to keep things professional between himself and Chloe, but how long can he resist when she is so close? And seeing her with his daughter just makes him want her more. He nearly tears himself apart trying to do the right thing, but maybe that's not the right thing after all.
Their interactions are so charged, and it really just all feels like it's building up to the breaking point. And I have to say, I could just hear Nikolai's accent in my head as he spoke, and it was just so hot!
It was nice revisiting some friends we've come to know, and I can't wait for the next book!

Night Sweats and Hockey Nets is a refreshing blend of romance, humor, and sports, and it delivers on all fronts. From the start, the story flows effortlessly, drawing readers into the world of its vibrant characters and their compelling relationships. The author skillfully weaves together the dynamics of friendship and love, creating connections that feel authentic and heartwarming.

One of the standout elements of the novel is the use of hockey terminology. It not only adds authenticity to the storyline but also enriches the narrative, making it more immersive for readers who appreciate sports or are eager to learn more about it. The author’s attention to detail in this regard is commendable.

Nikolai, the male lead, is the embodiment of everything a romantic hero should be—strong, compassionate, and fiery. His qualities as a father are especially endearing, making him not just a love interest but also a role model of dedication and tenderness. His well-rounded character adds depth to the story and makes him a protagonist readers will easily root for.

Chloe our leading lady, on the other hand, brings a playful and quirky energy to the book. Her antics and wit kept me laughing from start to finish, and her lively personality added a lighthearted touch to the overall tone. She’s the kind of character who keeps readers engaged, her unpredictability and charm making her impossible to forget.

And then, when their love story heats up, it brings the book to another level entirely. The romance is not only sweet but also spicy, adding a layer of passion that elevates the entire reading experience. It’s a perfect balance of Hallmark-esque charm with a dash of heat that will satisfy readers looking for a bit of extra sizzle.

Overall, Night Sweats and Hockey Nets is a delightful read that I highly recommend to anyone in search of a feel-good romance with a side of humor and spice. Whether you're a fan of hockey or just love a great love story, this book is sure to please. It’s one I’ll be recommending to friends and family alike!

Written in first person from an alternating dual POV, this third book in series can be read as a standalone and ends in a HEA. Readers should be aware that as an interconnected series, characters from previous books play important roles in this one.
Niko is the grumpy goalie who is in a bitter custody battle with his ex for his 7-year-old daughter. He growls and grumbles and has the funniest sayings that just don’t translate well into English. His focus is narrow and consists of his career and his daughter.
Chloe is a 42-year-old widow who returns home to Tampa to be closer to her dad, who is the coach for Niko’s team. I love how she chooses to take this time after loss to reinvent herself and become the confident sexy woman that she has hidden for so long. I really appreciated her maturity and her ability to stand up for herself and what she wants and deserves as she pursues her dreams. When she becomes the short-term nanny to Niko’s daughter to help him win visitation, she forms a very sweet relationship with little Alana that I adored.
The heat between Niko and Chloe is intense. Their chemistry flies off the page and I loved the spicy scenes as Chloe embraces that part of herself. It takes Niko a minute to realize that he had fallen hard for Chloe when he really wanted to avoid it. The man is loyal and tender under his gruff exterior though. He shows how much he cares with a bunch of actions even when he won’t say the words. The writing flowed and there are several laugh-out-loud moments. This was a very enjoyable read. I love this series and how relatable it is. The maturity of the characters helps avoid some of the irritating miscommunication that sometimes find their way into romance. I loved it.
I am voluntarily leaving this honest review after receiving an advance reader copy of the book.

Sports - Hockey

Nikolai is focused on two things. - getting joint custody of his daughter Ayana and his hockey career. Behind his grumpy exterior is a loyal and honorable man who is devoted to his daughter, family, and friends.

Following the death of her husband, Chloe moves her life to Tampa Bay to be closer to her family. She is not interested in another relationship, but she is not opposed to some fun with the right person.

During the NHL All-Star Game, the two have a chance meeting in a bar. They share an unforgettable kiss which is cut short by a phone call related to a matter more important to Niko than anything else, his daughter.

While attending a party at his coach’s house he is not only reunited with Chloe but discovers she is actually coach’s daughter. A major no-go zone.

A desperate situation finds Chloe agreeing to be a temporary nanny for Ayana, so Nikolai can prove to the court that he is suitable as he fights his ex-wife for shared custody.

A combination of circumstances, including the need for Chloe to evacuate her apartment and her new role as Ayana’s temporary nanny, forces Chloe to move in with Niko.

The ice of the hockey arena does not stand a chance against the heat between Niko and Chloe. You will bask in the relationships that develop not only between Niko and Chloe but Chloe and Ayana as well. You will enjoy the banter between Niko and Chloe and Niko’s hilarious Russian sayings.

If you’re not already sweating from hot flashes, Niko will make you overheat from the thoughtful accommodations he makes to ensure that Chloe is more comfortable.

Get your Russian translator ready and enjoy the ride as Niko and Chloe navigate the obstacles they face.

This is the third book in this series and wow what a book. Chloe has moved to Tampa to start over after her husband's died a year ago. She's now ready to start living for herself again. Deciding to start up a junior hockey team for kids just to enjoy the game. When she meets a handsome stranger in a bar she decides that maybe it time to live for fun. After a kiss that she certainly wasn't expecting to effect her like it does, he recieves a call and up and leaves. Well somethings are destined to go nowhere. Nikolai has two priorities in his life his daughter and hockey, but fighting for joint custody is a battle in itself. When he meets a gorgeous curvy woman in the bar he let's himself enjoy a moment for himself, and boy can she kiss. Leaving to take a call is the best option, this can't and won't go anywhere. When coach organises a group announcement and to welcome his daughter. He's shocked to see Chloe standing there. This can't be happening, he has to focus and now here is the one thing that may cause everything to fail. From start to finish this book is addictive, funny, steamy and definitely makes your heart melt. Can Chloe finally live her life how she wants and be somebodies priority for a change. Between goats, hot sweats, an adorable little girl and stubborn ex's. Will these two ever be able to admit how they feel or will pride stand in the way. I totally loved this book and the way it's compassionate towards perimenopause and the effects it can have. If you love to curl up with a steamy rom com this is totally the book you want.

Niko is struggling in his life, nearing his Hockey career and with his custody battle for his daughter life is getting difficult, so when he is chosen for the All Stars game he lets loose one night and meets a woman of his dreams.

Chole feels like she is in limbo at the moment, middle age has crept up on her, so when she is invited to go to the All Stars competition she jumps at the chance and decides to let caution to the wind. That's when she meets him and the kiss they shared is on her mind all the time but when she decides to move to live near her dad and then it gets interesting, she sees the man she can't stop thinking about but he is one of her dad's players.

Niko finds out that the woman he has been dreaming about from Toronto is here in Tampa and is his coaches daughter which is a big NO, but as they get on and he gets more entangled with his custody battle the only solution is that Chole becomes his daughter's Nanny but living together sparks start flying and can they keep there hands off each other.

This is the third book in this series and is just as good as the others. I love the style of writing and the stories are always fun and draws you in from the beginning. The characters are brilliantly developed and I loved these two as they complimented each other brilliantly and with the challenges between themselves and other character is brilliant to read.

The story flows through and is a heart warming romance with some twists but overall you will be rushing to turn the pages to finish the book in hours.

Thank you for these characters as a middle aged woman in the hot flash phase they are a joy to read.

This book deserves more than 5 stars! Both of the main characters are very engaging. Chloe has relocated to be near her father after the death of her husband. Her father is the coach for the Storm Chasers pro hockey team, and Chloe had played hockey in college. Thanks to her husband’s life insurance, Chloe has retired from her teaching job and plans to start a recreational hockey club for kids. Niko is a grumpy single Dad from Eastern Europe. He’s fighting for shared custody of his young daughter while approaching his last season as the Storm Chasers’ goalie. Sparks fly when Chloe and Niko initially meet, and they soon cross paths again at a hockey game. Even though he can’t take his eyes off Chloe, Niko respects his coach too much to have a fling with the coach’s daughter. Niko just wants to focus on his daughter while mentoring younger players, training and playing hockey. Meanwhile, Chloe is ready to begin her new life, enjoy new friendships and potentially even find romance. When Niko is forced to find a nanny so he can win his custody case, Chloe volunteers to help. This book has great supporting characters as well as adult heat (incl. a little kink), relatable issues, a cute dog, fun banter and swoony romance. I loved the well-written dual points of view. Although there are a few sensitive tropes like perimenopause, loss of a spouse, custody battles and more, those issues are handled sensitively. Highly recommended book! I received an advance copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

This book is wonderful, hilarious, fantastic!! These authors hit us with another tale of love the 2nd time around. Having characters in their forties is super relatable. We can’t all be 20-somethings anymore. 😁

Chloe is still grieving the husband she lost to cancer but is ready to reclaim her life. Being 42 isn’t old. When Chloe kisses a stranger in a bar, she knows it could never be more than that random stupid moment.

Nikolai is a dedicated goalie facing the end of his career. He is embroiled in a nasty custody battle for his young daughter. Nikolai also supports his family back at home. He has no time for relationships, especially if they would put his custody in danger. Not even for that raven-haired beauty he kissed in the bar. When she turns up unexpectedly at his coach’s house, Nikolai must find a way to avoid the biggest distraction he has ever met.

When Chloe makes an offer to help Nikolai out as a temporary nanny to help his custody battle, Nikolai refuses. When the professional nanny he found doesn’t work, Nikolai is stuck and asks Chloe to help. After some initial flirting, Nikolai and Chloe agree to keep it platonic and be friends. That only worked for so long. They gave into the heat, the sparks, the chemistry between them.

Nikolai and Chloe have some hurdles to overcome but the biggest ones seem to be themselves. They just can’t believe that they deserve to be loved and/or happy. Will they figure it out??

Loving this series!!

I was reading this on the treadmill attracting lots of strange looks as I kept cracking up laughing, the writing duo of Ms. Stewart & Ms. Ray have produced a story that has so much lighthearted fun, with humorous banter from these great characters that it won't fail to make you laugh out loud, fall in love with Chloe, Nicolai and Ayana, and enjoy every moment of this entertaining story!
This romance is between two characters who have already put their first marriages behind them. Chloe, recently widowed, has moved to Tampa determined to start life again, for herself, building a life experiencing new adventures, and living her dreams, her desire to take her hockey playing days and education qualifications and build a kids hockey league for the enjoyment of the sport. Nicolai, a growly, determined, single dad, with the most bizarre Russian sayings, is struggling to get fair visitation and custody rights to his daughter Ayana, while facing his final season in the sport he's dedicated his life to.
From a first encounter in a bar in Toronto, to a temporary nannying situation, their path to their HEA is not an easy one but an extremely entertaining read watching them get there.
I love that this series is about characters in their 30s and 40s, getting the chance at finding happiness with an open and honest view of life at that age and what ageing throws at us. Thanks for the dose of realism, and for being able to relate to the characters, amongst the fantasy of the swoony romance.

Night Sweats and Hockey Nets is the third book in the Hot Flash Hookups series by Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart. These two authors make a great writing team as their styles blend together flawlessly into a witty, engrossing, sexy, and fun read/s.
This is another wonderfully fun contemporary romantic comedy with forced proximity, grumpy-sunshine factor, 2nd chances, reverse age gap, a forbidden liaison, chemistry, steam, funny quips, banter, antics, family, a pesky ex, drama, emotion, and angst- starring a perimenopausal widow and a sexy single dad/professional hockey player.
What happens when the sexy woman you kissed at the bar turns out to be your hockey coach's daughter? And what happens when she becomes your daughter’s nanny? Keep things professional. No problem. Right? Well, things don’t always go according to plan- and what ensues here makes for a really entertaining, fun, and spicy read- with just enough drama and angst to keep you hooked. Let the fun begin!
I think this instalment might just be the best of the bunch, so far- can’t wait to continue this madcap romp of a series.
This series consist of (so far):
-Hot Flashes & Hockey Slashes (Book #1)
-Mood Swings & Hockey Flings (Book #2)
-Night Sweats & Hockey Nets (Book #3)
-Sleepless Nights & Hockey Flights (Book #4) – due to be released in March 2025
Happy Reading!

Thank you, Sylvie Stewart & Marika Ray!

I have been seeing this series circulate my social media pages and book review group, but I thought that it wouldn’t be of interest to me because of the age group targeted, and myself not having anything experience wise to relate at all, but how wrong I was. I ended up picking up another Marika Ray Novel, and I loved it, so when I saw this book come up again I immediately wanted to read it. I now have to play catch up with book 1 and book 2. I started with book 3, and while there were references to previous books in the series and the characters were the same, the main characters were the focus of the story, I still would recommend reading the books in order, although I didn’t feel lost or anything, I definitely felt like I was missing out on vital information. Night Sweats and Hockey Mets has a few familiar tropes such as grumpy/sunshine, the ever popular hockey star, both parties fight their attraction, single dad needs a nanny, but also some fresher tropes as well like characters over 40, plus size and confident, etc. Between Nikos random Russian sayings, and Chloe’s confident flirting I found myself laughing out loud at the banter between the characters. I also found myself truly not enjoying Peyton and her attitude. This was a wonderful read, a fun, cozy romance, and you can’t go wrong with a Marika Ray novel and now I’ve been introduced to a new author, Sylvie Stewart, as well.

Night Sweats and Hockey Nets is my favorite book in the Hot Flash Hookup series so far!

Nikolai is certainly not looking for love when he shares a kiss with a sexy woman in a bar. Chloe isn’t looking for love either, but neither can get that kiss out of their minds. Who knows what might have happened if Nikolai wasn’t interrupted by a phone call from his lawyer? They go their separate ways until they meet again, and Nikolai realizes exactly who Chloe is…his coach’s daughter. That means she is entirely off-limits. However, fate and a sweet, sassy little girl who plays matchmaker might have other plans.

I enjoyed the plot of the book. It was much different than other books about hockey players. Nikolai is well past his partying days, and he is facing retirement. In addition, he is fighting his ex-wife for more time to spend with his young daughter. Chloe has suffered a significant loss and is completely upending her life, moving back to be closer to her father and a career change. Their challenges make them relatable, and the obstacles to a relationship are realistic. Ultimately, I was so happy to see they got their happily ever after.

I love that the books in this series have incredible middle-aged women who are the heroines. They prove that love knows no age, and anyone can find their happily ever after no matter how old they are. As with all the other books, I’m looking forward to the next in the series.

I love this series! It’s a quirky sports romance. These authors hooked me with book 1, but I feel like Night Sweats & Hockey Nets is my favorite. Which is also book 3. It may be a series but you don’t have to read them in succession, they work extremely well as standalone novels. The authors bring us another story where another one of the Storm Chasers falls for an older woman.
It’s All Star weekend which finds Chloe and Niko in Toronto for different reasons. He’s taking part and she’s spectating, but when they meet at a bar they can’t resist one another. Chloe is out trying to find herself. She had a long and trying past few years and it’s time to move on. Which puts her right into Niko’s path. However Niko’s path is a dangerous one, dangerous for one’s heart. However Niko wants this stranger and after they share a kiss they are both done for. But they’ve agreed to only remain anonymous. Unfortunately it’s easier said than done, because she’s not a stranger at all. She is the coach's daughter. Which makes her off limits. Not that stops them from flirting and such. Especially since she’s now closer than ever because she’s helping him try to win his custody battle for his daughter.
Will they give in to temptation?
When will they realize their feelings are true it’s not??
Easier said than done.
If you enjoy either of the authors and/or are looking for a fun quirky romance novel this book is for you. So what are you waiting for? It’s time to jump right in.

An enjoyable and engaging romantic comedy which kept me happily turning the pages. When pro hockey player Niko shares a passionate kiss with Chloe in a crowded bar, he didn’t know she was his coach’s daughter. However, having realised she’s off limits it’s proving harder than he thought to resist her. Nico is embroiled in a custody battle for his young daughter as well as coming to the end of his hockey career. Meanwhile, Chloe is a widow who is starting a new chapter in her life, whilst trying to ignore the annoying signs of impending middle age. Having decided to focus on fun and adventures she continues to flirt with Niko and show him her own impressive hockey skills.
Chloe becomes Niko’s daughter’s nanny when he needs to prove to the judge that he can take care of her. With Chloe moving in and filling the house with her vibrant personality and fun energy, she’s soon winning over both Nico and his daughter. I loved the likeable and relatable Chloe and Niko and their chemistry sizzled off the page, leading to some steamy scenes! I loved the developing relationship between Chloe and Niko’s daughter. It was particularly nice to read a romance where the main character, Chloe is in her 40’s and slightly perimenopausal, as this made her a very realistic character, and one who I could relate to.

Night Sweats and Hockey Nets is book 3 in the series. Each book can be read as a standalone however, it’s best to read in order so you don’t have any spoilers from previous books.

This books is about Coach Bowman’s adult daughter Chloe Cooper who recently became a widow and the best goalie ever who is currently with the Storm Chasers Nikolai ( Niko ) Drugov. Nikolai is going thru a rough custody battle with his ex wife over their daughter Ayana. He currently needs to find a nanny to show he has proper childcare for her. Chloe and Niko shared one kiss on Toronto which could’ve led to more if he didn’t get a call from his lawyer.

Niko didn’t know she was coaches daughter until they get back home but they seem friendly enough and she offers to help him out as his nanny until he finds someone he trusts to care for Ayana. She ends up being a live-in nanny when there is a flood at her place.
Of course she keeps flirting with him but he does well keeping his distance until he can’t take it anymore. They both agree it will be casual and nothing serious.

Both are on board with that until one of them isn’t. Will they be able to remain friends when Chloe moves back into her place or will they grow apart and regret their time together. Another great read in this series. Cannot wait for more!

I absolutely love this book series. Who knew that menopause and hockey could go together so well? This is the third book in the Hot Flash Hookups series, and it continues to include all of our favorite past characters that we have grown to know and love. We get to watch the grumpy hockey goalie, Niko, as he battles for custody with his ex-wife for joint custody of his daughter and his strong attraction to the coach's daughter Chloe. Is there room in his life for both a little romance with a gorgeous woman beginning menopause, who happens also to be an amazing hockey player, and to win the battle with his ex-wife who seems to enjoy playing games more than she cares about what's best for their daughter's well-being? You will not want to miss this next book of Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart, who are a dynamic duo when it comes to writing amazing romance books with a lot of humor in them. Every single one of the books in this series has had me rolling with laughter as well as tearing up when the characters battle their self-worth while navigating their attraction to these cute hockey players who seem to ignore what's right in front of them. Happy reading my friends, this is a great series to cuddle up with a nice cup of hot cocoa and a fuzzy blanket and enjoy a little romance.

If I’m Crying, Y’all Need to Be Crying!!!

Marika Ray and Sylvie Stewart have officially done me in… I have now officially read every book within this series and they have all squeezed my heart in one way or another and made me realize that love comes in many different forms. It’s not perfect, far from it, but it’s a conscious choice and requires constant effort every day. It’s not all sunshine and rainbows, but the good days way outweigh the bad and it’s makes life easier and worth it. I am infatuated with this book, in fact the whole series, because that is one of the underlying themes throughout. These stories are so relevant and relatable on every level, it’s also a plus that there’s always a happy ending! Chloe and Nikolai have both seen heart ache and pain, yet one chooses to take all of that and turn it into something positive while the other chooses to internalize it and do nothing. It’s so wonderful to see them come together and teach other how to love… Really love… Without fear, without expectation, without waiting for the other shoe to drop. The plot is amazing, the spice is spicy, and the characters are so perfect, it’s hard not to fall for them and the story. Ray and Stewart have done an incredible job in writing this book, as they have throughout this series and I am 100% here for it!!!!
