Lola Grace
Descendant of a Celtic God
Smart, Beautiful, Funny,
And a Total Hot Mess...

You'd think that a woman with supernatural Celtic Blood in her veins would have more luck. Unfortunately, for Lola, that just wasn't in her cards.

She had a great job, awesome friends, and a bestie who also happens to be a fairy. Life was good. Except for one thing...

She's had a three-year-long crush on the handsome FBI agent Daniel McEntire and is scared out of her wits to admit it. And now, she's been tasked to work a difficult case with him involving a threat to the daughter of a U.N. Ambassador.

Because the Lola train wreck of secrets wasn't crazy enough, she makes a shocking discovery that turns the case into a political nightmare.

With only the tiniest tequila hangover, Lola sets her feelings for Daniel aside as they work together to solve the case. When they realize they've been hoodwinked by an unexpected player, and a young woman's life is at stake, Lola takes matters into her own hands.

Will her actions save the day? Or has she ruined her chance at a life with Daniel?

Hoodwinked in Translation is the first in the romcom urban fantasy, The Lola Grace Series. Each book will follow Lola and Daniel, along with her friends and family (both magical and human), as they crack one case after another. This is just the first stop on the Lola Grace crazy train! The possibilities are endless...

Hoodwinked

This book started off grabbing me! Lola is a funny character and just really a lovable FMC. She’s snarky but not ugly. Daniel, bless him, is epically stoic good guy. This is the start of a series and I very much look forward to the next book!

As a descendant of a Celtic God, Lola Grace has the ability to understand any language, even dead ones. This skill helps her secure an amazing job as translator for the government, translating conversations for dignitaries, royalty, and the FBI. It also creates the perfect opportunity to swoon over her three-year-long crush, FBI agent Daniel McEntire. And even though her last name is Grace, that is the only place in her life she has it. Lola is a hot mess, but that is one of the many reasons Daniel has been in love with her since the moment they met. However, neither one will admit their feelings and tell the other one. However, when Lola and Daniel are trusted with a government secret and suddenly, Lola’s life is in danger, will everything change between them?

Lola Grace is the perfect combination of Nancy Drew and Bridget Jones. She is indeed a hot mess, but her uncanny ability to understand any language makes her a highly-sought after interpreter. The book toggles between Daniel and Lola’s perspectives, making it interesting to hear the parallel-thinking of the characters. It makes you more invested in the relationship and engages you as a reader. I loved the realism of both the actions and the dialogue of the characters, mirroring thoughts and actions I have experienced myself. Hoodwinked in Translation is the perfect summer read to add to your pool bag, and I cannot wait for the next installment!

This book was my side kick while I was sick. It provided many laughs and giggles. Hoodwinked is told with a dual pov: a broody fbi guy and Lola Grace (who has been gifted with the ability to translate any language) a clutsy lovable red head. They've kept their feelings pent up for 3 years for fear of ruining their friendship. However, when they finally accept those feelings their chemistry is incendiary! I do feel like the multiple times of love making in a sesion was a bit much though.
While this is going on, someone has hoodwinked them in a very political situation. A conversation is deciphered, and a pretty big secret is leaked. This causes someone close to the family to them to become unhinged and concoct plans of their own.
The laughs never stop even as they take this case on. There is a sassy fairy friend, and a family just as quirky as Lola. You will love them all! Some of my favorite scenes are the hot tub lounge and its description, the texting and banter between Lola & Daniel, and the shower scene. Also sounds like Lola's antics aren't over yet. Seems she may be taking on another case soon. I will definitely be reading more books from GM Katz!

Too many plot holes. I'm tired of the "clumsy girl" trope.
