Taber Tigers #3

I Blame the Club

Rate this book
Nico
Did I offer to service our new assistant coach at the lacrosse banquet last year? You bet your ass I did. Maurice O’Brien is arrogant, disciplined, sinfully handsome, and I would happily sell my soul for one night of fun. The fact he hates my guts is a minor inconvenience compared to the other obstacle I’m up against.
He’s as hetero as they come.

Mo
If the team goalie hits on me one more time, somebody is going to get hurt. Nico Montez is cocky, infuriating, unprofessional, and I would gladly kick him off the team if he wasn’t our best goalie. Nico has a knack for getting under my skin and if he keeps this up, it won’t just be the team he destroys.
It'll be my self-control.

4/5 ⭐

This was fun and so sweet. I loved how Nico's and Mo's relationships developed. The strong alpha male and the play boy lacrosse player(who reminded me so much of Ronan Astor from RES lol) went together so well.
I lived for their vulnerable and sweet moments, and the author delivered.

I've never read a coach x player m/m romance before, so this was a pleasant surprise. And I ate it up in a day. Nico is so sweet and was such a sunshine, you can't help but love that man🥺

(Thank you so much for the author for sending me an arc!!!)

Jade Everhart is back with another phenomenal read. This book is so different from her others in the best way possible, but she keeps the theme of characters you just can’t help but fall in love with, mixed with banter that will have you laughing the whole read.

Nico has always been one of my favourite characters in this series, so I absolutely love that his story is being told. Nico’s bubbly personality mixed with Mo’s intense one is the grumpy x sunshine trope I didn’t know I needed in my life.

It’s safe to say you’re in good hands, Everhart did not disappoint with this novel! It was an instant 5 stars for me, and I cannot wait to read the next instalment in the series!!

4.25/5

This book is easily my favourite in the series. It was raw, emotional, funny, tense, sweet with a dash of spice.

I was really hoping book 3 would be an MM especially with the little teaser on book 2. And oh was it such a good MM romance.

This book explores the relationship of Nico and Mighty Mo. Nico is Wes' best friend and the goalie for the Taber Tigers. He is the life of the party, a f*ckboy but also such a loyal friend. Mighty Mo is known as a lacrosse legend at Taber and also the brother of Stella. He is the take charge alpha type who likes control.

Mo returns to Taber University as the new assistant coach where Wes and Nico are the co-captains. Immediately, Nico and Mo get off on the wrong foot. For Mo, it's hate at first sight but for Nico it's lust at first sight. There's just one problem. Mo is the assistant coach and he's straight. Or is he?

Things become more intense between Nico and Mo until one night, Nico finds himself in trouble and Mo steps in to help him, forever changing the course of their relationship.

I honestly loved this book so much. Nico has my whole heart. He is such a wonderful character. And then there's Mo. The things you learn about him just make me want to give him the biggest hug. They were honestly such a perfect matchup.

Check CW before reading as there are some sensitive topics.

Ugh I really enjoyed this one. I’ve been kinda binge reading this series this past week and it’s been so fun!!

The subtle little jokes in the books and the HINTS, miss jade was really lining things up all the way through and I always appreciate a well thought out plan.

I’m going to be honest, starting this book I wanted to punch Mo, that man was grinding my gears a little (even if he likes the same hockey team as me). Him and Nico were so well suited for each other and I’m glad that Nico really brought out the best in Mo.

let it be known that I texted the author while in the middle of chapter 8 because I wanted to know who the fourth book was about. AND I GUESSED RIGHT MWAHAHA. anywho no spoilers from me but I’m quite excited. But y’all better be paying attention to the hints she’s dropping.

Seeing the growth these characters had throughout the series and the books was something special. I’ve never read MM before but this was a very good place to start! Dipped my toes in haha

Compelling, passionate, and steamy!

I Blame the Club is a provocative, heart-tugging romance featuring the self-assured, flirty goaltender Nico and the restrained, haughty, sexy assistant coach Mo as they discover that the heart wants what the heart wants and that some things are definitely worth fighting for.

The prose is sweet and spicy. The characters are multi-faceted, vulnerable, and endearing. And the plot is an alluring mix of palpable chemistry, sizzling tension, heartfelt emotion, flirty banter, friendship, tricky situations, tender moments, and explosive heat.

Overall, I Blame the Club is a seductive, swoon-worthy, heartwarming tale by Everhart with scrumptious characters and an intriguing storyline that is not only a fantastic addition to the Tiger Tabers series but, hands down, one of my favourite MM romance novels of the year!

I was hooked from the first interaction Mo and Niko had!!The glimpses of Mo in previous books give me different perspective of him and I was so happy to see real him on this book. The way he handled all struggles his and also Nico’s are everything, his stability and assurance is what really got me. Nico got my attention literally from the first book, he’s great friend and supporter, wild creature who know himself to the bone. But he also have insecurities and fears but with help of other he was able to overcome them. The mix of emotions that this couple made me feel are indescribable.

“For you Maurice, I will always stay."

Rating: 4.5 ✨
Spice: 1.5 🌶️

Let me start this off with:
1. I ate this book right up in less than 48 hours, even though I went on a trip one of the days. It was THAT good.
2. Nico was SUCH an easy character to love.
But the characters that really do it for me are the ones that don’t seem easy to love at first glance, but that you end up falling head over heels for.
That, for me, was Mo. The more we learned about Mighty Mo, the more i loved him.
I love when you can actually see characters evolving throughout the story & we got so much of that with Mo. It was amazing to see that at the end of the story he was still feeling like himself, but better, because isn’t this exactly what relationships are supposed to so?

This was also one of the only times I felt that a third act break up was SO well set up & I could understand the character’s headspace. It felt authentic, necessary and was soooo well resolved.

This was also my first MM romance where homophobia & violence was present.
While it was tough to read, it gave a whole different insight into the reality that some people unfortunately still face when searching for love and being comfortable with their sexuality.

Overall, I adored this couple, what they brought out in each other & the pacing of this book.
I also very much squealed at the GENIUS of how book 4 was set up in the epilogue 😍
Jade Everhart has made a fan out of me!!

This was my first MM read and I loved it!

💚Nico Montez: Taber’s lacrosse team’s goalie and co-captain. Funny, full of sunshine, carefree, always there for others and hot Latino playboy.

💚Maurice ‘Mo’ O’Brien: Taber’s hot lacrosse legend, assistant coach, control freak and alpha hole with some past demons.

Mo and Nico’s story so fun and sweet to read. Nico is the sunshine to Mo’s grumpiness. Nico was so easy to love. He had me laughing with all his witty comments. But it’s always the quiet ones who you’re trying to figure out who always gets to me which is Mo. These two were so different but fit perfectly together. I loved how they figured things out throughout the story. Getting to know them individually you fell in love with them, together? Oh it was fun and beautiful!

The friend group in this story was so sweet. All of them rooting for Nico and Mo. but it was Nico and Mo’s personal relationship with each of them that brought this whole story together. This story focused on finding yourself, putting you first, and learning to take a chance on what you love.

I enjoyed this story and can’t wait to see what’s next.. 💚

MM* Coach/ athlete *Grumpy/sunshine* Hate to love* coming out *

Nico and Mo( Maurice) sure had a hard fought story. There's and attraction and while Nico makes it very well known, Maurice is fighting it. I adored Nico, he such a great friend and those he cares about, he cares deeply. He is very much himself. I lacrosse getting it's shot in the spotlight with this series.

Maurice is a hard ass, working for his father and on a "leave" to coach his former team. He is bisexual but hasn't come out. This creates a lot of friction between the two men and Nico gets in his head about his feelings.

I loved their banter and the other characters were really fun too! Of course, everyone knew what was going on before these two said anything.

That moment when Nico and Mo gave it melted me. The chemistry is intense. I was seriously smiling, laughing and giddy while reading.

As soon as I saw the trope list I KNEW this book would be the book for me and I was right. I loved it so much. I obviously loved the main two characters Nico & Mo but wow the side characters were amazing too! I’ll definitely need to go back and read the other books in this series!

Nico, a goalie for his college lacrosse team and his coach Mo had such great chemistry and their banter had me kicking my feet and giggling. I absolutely adored them both so much and I was rooting for them SO HARD. The backstory for Mo was so heartbreaking and I just wanted to go through my kindle to punch some people and also give Mo the biggest squeeze.

From page one I was in love with Nico. He’s just so funny and lighthearted but he also has the biggest heart. There was one scene near the beginning where I also wanted to go through my kindle and punch some more people but I won’t go into too much detail. 🤣 That scene honestly broke my heart and I just love Nico so much. Ugh.

If you are reading this and love MM please please please go read this book and also DM me because I need people to talk about this book with. I can’t wait to read the rest of the stories in this series and maybe even re read this one again soon.

My first MM romance, no expectation when i read this, but this is surprisingly fun. I like the banter and how the chemistry between Mo and Nico, they're fun. But one thing that prevents me from bumping this to 5⭐️ is Nico's character, he's too much fun for me, and too girlish in my opinion.

I absolutely loved diving right back into the Taber Tigers world!!🤗

Nico was the reason I picked up this book, but Mo is the reason I stayed. I was skeptical of Mo to begin with since he’s always had this untouchable rough exterior to him, but the author did such a good job of breaking down his walls without compromising who he is as a character.

Nico and Mo were both faced with different struggles, and they came out even stronger on the other side. Their different ways of caring for each other tho😩😩😩 I think my favourite thing about this series as a whole is how early adulthood is portrayed in such a real way.

Did I mention that I’m also incredibly excited for the next book in the series?😁

If you’re looking for a quick coming of age read, then you don’t want to miss this series!!

Thank you to the author for this ARC in exchange for my honest opinion🫶🏼🫶🏼

This is an absolutely amazing story that provides a satisfying mix of emotion, excellent pacing, and depth.

The story centers on Nico Montez, the irresistible team goalie who would happily sell his soul for one night with the new assistant coach, Maurice "Mo" O'Brien. Mo is arrogant, disciplined, and straight. The tension is sky-high as he fights for his self-control against the one person who can destroy it.

Nico is perfect; I absolutely love how comfortable he is with who he is, and his confidence is infectious. My heart truly breaks for Mo. As we learned in the last book, his dad sucks, but man, he REALLY sucks. I deeply related to the intense pressure he felt to be perfect and bury any pain behind a mask of staying busy. I loved watching Nico bring him out of his shell and help him learn to live and take control of his life for himself, not just based on his dad's expectations.

This book is definitely a bit more deep with sensitive themes, and the author handles the emotional core beautifully. The pacing is great, and the story is an awesome mix of feelings throughout, perfectly balancing the fun of the campus setting with the weight of Mo's journey.

As a huge bonus, I absolutely LOVE the cameos from previous characters. It’s so fun to see them again! This book has only heightened my anticipation, and I can't WAIT for the next installment in the series.
