MM Truth Or Dare Anthology
1 Star ⭐️

Because the authors who put this shitty anthology together couldn’t be fucked to correct their typos, run on sentences, spelling and grammar issues, I can’t be fucked to write a proper review. When I read anthologies I take notes so I can remember what each one was about so I can cobble it into a cohesive review later but I’m just going to post my unhinged, unedited notes instead. The only story in this one I liked was So It Goes by Rikki Leighton and it only had one typo! Woohoo!! While there were some I DNF’d, the worst one was the first one, Squirty Cream by Joe Satoria. It’s amazing I kept reading this after that tbh. Most anthologies start with a story that draws the reader in but this one was just cringe. I’ll also turn on my highlights because why not.

Without further ado…

Squirty Cream by Joe Satoria

-super cringe omg.

-Ok this said it was British English so to all my British friends, please tell me you don’t call whipped cream squirty cream!! It sounds disgusting like if I still worked at a grocery store and someone asked me where the squirty cream was, I’d be a bit speechless. It just sounds so gross but that could be the fact the word “squirt” gives me the ick. And this story OMG 😳 I’ve never read this author before and I think I’ll keep it that way because the writing is so weird and not due to it being British English. There are periods instead of commas so nothing flows and the sentences have no structure. And then add in the cringy awkward af make out scene in the bedroom, them both drunk, spilling their drinks on each other and giggling.

-Thick dick energy is a thing apparently and a boyfriend penis???? What in the actual fuck???

-James says squirty cream isn’t a thing but he also said he didn’t know zucchini slice was an Aussie delicacy until he read some article. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It looks like a frittata shaped like a brownie but with zucchini yuck. 🤢

-TMI but at 18 I thought it would be so hot to fuck around with “squirty cream” 🤢 and so I sprayed my boyfriend down with it only to be grossed out 5 min later. Licking it off tasted good at first but it leaves a smell of old milk after lapping it up and it was so off putting. I remember both of us being like ewww. It was NOT hot and neither was this story.

Secret Crushes and Sex Toys by Kota Quinn

-Well I’ve always wanted to read a book by this author but this was just so boring.

-Shy, redheaded, virgin Lawson has a thing for the guy who brings his boss lunch. The thing with this one was that the truth or dare aspect had absolutely nothing to do with the couple and was just kind of there in the background of the party. When Victor comes in he hears Lawson’s truth answer and is intrigued but it was also needless drama.

-The best part of this was the sex toy scene but the rest was just mehhh.

-Also, more giggling. 🤦🏻‍♀️

Propositioning the Boss by Courtney W Dixon

-Omg the best friend Jules is an asshole and why would he go along with this?? The fact she doesn’t give a shit the next day is too much.

-Also, this guy Myles is fucking drunk and it’s not hot.

-The boss is a secret dom. 🙄🙄

-Proposes at 8 months in the epilogue 🙄🙄

💀This might be the worst anthology I’ve ever read 😂😂😂

Healing Bruises by Travis Beaudoin

-Apparently this guy can’t stand women. His bestie is Bianca but his inner monologue says she’s too dramatic etc. Then he’s hanging out with “Angie Hawkins and her townie boyfriend but Angie is a bit of an idiot”. Then Ayla Wainright “meant well usually but was garbage at reading a room and could be a lot sometimes” WTF

-Ok to my actual surprise I liked these two together and Ben and Oliver had a hot hookup once I didn’t have to hear about how horrible his chick friends were. Ben had hooked up with Oliver’s ex while they were still dating but now these two are getting it on.

-but omg 28 is NOT old despite how many times I was told it was ancient. 🙄

Size Queen by RA Frick

-Kink party. Set in SF. My heart is still in SF somewhere. I miss it 😢

-Too much repetitive shit. Why are they retelling what happened in the previous chapter again. It wasn’t that interesting the first time?

-This one is really bad ngl. 😭😭😭

-They finally fuck but why the condoms when they legit had two convos about both being on prep and just being tested. This is shit I never noticed before until the double standard to straight sex was pointed out to me by a friend.

-Also, Shane had an 11 inch dick. Ouch. But Miles was a size queen with mega big dildos. 🙄

*Also, weird there have been two stories in this so far with a character named Miles. Since that was my parent’s dog’s name, I just picture big brown doggy eyes 🤣

*My masochism is real right now. Why am I not dnfing?

Exposed by SA Sway

-Intro to red light boys series where all guys work in the sex industry. YAWN. This trope is a bit overdone now 🙄

-Enemies to lovers that are roommates. I’d never live with someone I hated.

-Paragraph 4 we already have the wrong name being used. Aren’t I in Peter’s POV and he’s putting chips into a bowl? How the fuck then is he across the room putting milk in his cereal and spooning it into his mouth 💀💀💀💀💀🤦🏻‍♀️

-Ok Peter you think he’s a weirdo but you’re the one salivating over his neck freckle 🙄

-How old are these idiots?

-Kraken alcohol-is that a thing? OMG 94 proof blechhh I hate rum.

-Note to self just stumbled across the nice guy who hates only you trope

-Peter you liking “Peter” isn’t a temporary phase because you’re drunk 🙄🙄🙄

-WTF is a cock tie? Omg rabbit hole 🐰 🕳️ so it’s like a ring but not and it brought me to Amazon so I’m going to get crazy offers now 😭😭😭😭 Totally didn’t need to read about how a 78 year old jacks himself off with cockties and vapo-rub in one of the reviews for it! 😬

-Ok just as this got kind of hot the wrong names were used again and confused the hell out of me. I don’t know what it says that this is the best one so far despite all the errors 🤣🤣🤣🤣

Bangers by RS McKenzie

-Of course his ex’s name is Atlas 🤦🏻‍♀️

-Oh god his butt tattoo is just 💀💀💀

-LMAO @ the address mishap. He’s trying to explain they live in the same apartment building but never crossed paths because odd and even numbered apartments are on different sides. BUT they both have odd numbers…211 and 123 are odd numbers author 🤣 Did you mean 210?

🤣🤣🤣🤣 why is this anthology so bad???

-Ugh the giggling.

DNF -best friend’s dad

So It Goes by Rikki Leighton

-This is the one Mug loved 🤞🏻🤞🏻🤞🏻 I don’t hate it

-Oooo all boys boarding school

-WTF kind of name is Dash? 🤦🏻‍♀️

-Well this is promising so far!

-God Taylor swift’s new album might make me cry so I’m turning it off to enjoy this. loml is so fucking sad 😭😭😭😭

-wow for once someone has a small cock. TK’s is half the size of Dash’s 🤔

-How the fuck is Dash thinking he doesn’t like guys when everything he’s said so far shows he’s head over heels for TK 😂

-Ohhh I loved this. They are adorable together. I wish there was more and I’m totally looking this author up. 💗💗

More Than A Secret by Nic Starr

-I’m only in the blurb section and we have typos!!! These sentences make no sense. 🤦🏻‍♀️

-I don’t know that I can read this anthology anymore but this is best friends to lovers. Ugh

-Is this Australia? 👀
It issssss. 💗💗 And there’s a guy named James! Too bad this isn’t in Adelaide 😂

-Author make up your mind! Is it James or Jamie or are there two different people here. Why are both names used in the same sentence? 🤦🏻‍♀️

-Yah this was so boring I don’t even want to write about it. 🥱

Take The Shot by RM Neill

-I’d rather just be shot at this point.

-neighboring businesses. Bookshop & coffee shop owners crushing on each other.

-Not this old af woman (her words and his) telling him the guy he’s checking out has an ass that won’t quit 🤦🏻‍♀️ and all the kinky shit she’s doing with her husband. She’s 80 😳

-Because he brings his lunch to work everyday and you don’t see him get food delivered, it makes you wonder if he’s single? Why?

-this guys standards must be low if his heart is squeezing watching the customer treat his boyfriend to coffee 🙄😂

DNF The dialogue between Caleb and Malcolm is sooo cringy. Like who eats taffy, tells their date they gagged on it as a kid and barfed 🤮 yuck but then their date asks how their gag reflex is now? Also, where’s the truth or dare?

Kiss Me Quick! by Zoe Piper

89%?? Please be the last one 😂😂😂

-Wil with one L…

DNF yawn 🥱 this one is so boring! They’re at a party and Wil is dared to kiss the next person who comes through the door. Enter Ben.

Oh thank fuck it’s over. I usually love anthologies but I don’t recommend this to anyone. The truth or dare aspect was rarely used in a way that made any sense and the writing was atrocious. 💀

⋆ ★ Truth or Dare? ★ ⋆
This classic party game can be a pretty fun tool in romances — leading to meet-cutes, creating some sexy moments, or revealing some eye-opening truths.
What this anthology was trying to achieve with the game night theme was an interesting one, but I do feel some stories didn’t quite hit the mark.
For me, the theme fit the college stories more than the adult ones. It felt more realistic, more probable, for teenagers/new adults to be playing these games. The more “adult” the characters were meant to be, the less them casually playing truth or dare felt believable.

Overall, there were a couple winners for me that were worth the long read, but some just weren’t meant to be in here, since they barely fit the theme.

I received a copy of this book from Gay Romance Reviews, and this is my honest review.

❗️POSSIBLE SPOILERS AHEAD❗️

🍦Squirty Cream by Joe Satoria 2 🌟🍦

The dialogues were awkward and cringey, the smut basic and not sexy. They went on for a whole paragraph talking about flavored lube.

He was already in my diary, whenever he wanted, because he was wide open, but not wide enough—at least not yet anyway.

CWs (spoilers):
- College setting
- First time with a guy
- Rimming
- Strict top/bottom
- Whipped cream

🪄Secret Crushes and Sex Toys by Kota Quinn 3 🌟🪄

The Truth or Dare portion seemed pretty out of place, just thrown in there for the theme.
The smut, although brief, was actually pretty hot.

CWs (spoilers):
- Toys (prostate massager)
- Cheater ex
- Boss’ son
- Nerd vs chef
- Light voyeurism
- Coming untouched

🖇️Propositioning The Boss by Courtney W. Dixon 3.5 🌟🖇️

Don’t know if it’s because I liked this author’s writing more, or that the characters were actually interesting, but this short and steamy goodness was pretty yummy.
Very insta-love, but still fun.

CWs (spoilers):
- Boss vs PA
- Age gap (39-28)
- Spanking
- Office sex
- Rimming

❤️‍🩹Healing Bruises by Travis Beaudoin 3.5 🌟❤️‍🩹

A bit OTT, but kinda fun. Enjoyed the writing style, so might have to check out more of this author.

CWs (spoilers):
- Hate to love
- Ex’s ex
- MC w/ tattoos
- College setting
- Strict top/bottom

🍆Size Queen by R.A. Frick 3 🌟🍆

Again, OTT and the game theme not serving much of a purpose.
Smut was decent, the rest meh.

CWs (spoilers):
- MC w/ heterochromia
- Big dick
- Rimming
- Strict top/bottom

📹Exposed by SA Sway 4 🌟📹

I love some good cam boy action. These two were hot and fun.
This was a perfect intro to SA Sway’s series, and I can’t wait to read more.

CWs (spoilers):
- Brother’s best friend
- Hate to love
- Sex work/camboy
- Roommates
- Queer awakening/gfy
- Toys (dildo)
- Rimming
- Coming untouched
- Mention of unwanted/inappropriate sexual advances (not between MCs)
- Use of homophobic slur
- Strict top/bottom

💥Bangers by RS McKenzie 3.5 🌟💥

Cute and smutty, with the a nice touch of light “taboo”.

CWs (spoilers):
- Best friend’s dad
- Age gap
- Body insecurities
- Strict top/bottom
- Cheating ex

⚽️ So It Goes by Rikki Leighton 4.5 🌟⚽️

«Could I fall in love with him? The universe might be dead set on making me find out.»

This one was my favorite of all the stories.
The pining sadboi vs the oblivious ‘straight’ best friend? I can’t get enough of this trope.
They were sweet and sexy, a classic best friends to lovers, but done well enough to still be enjoyable.

CWs (spoilers):
- Virgin MC
- Boarding school
- Teammates and roommates
- Friends to lovers
- Queer awakening
- Frotting
- First times
- Pining
- Toy (cocksleeve)
- Strict top/bottom
- HFN ending

⚓️More Than A Secret by Nic Starr 2.5 🌟⚓️

Nothing wrong with the writing or the story per se, I just found it boring and cheesy.
Compared to the previous story, this one fell flat.

CWs (spoilers):
- Friends to lovers
- Mutual pining

🥃Take The Shot by RM Neill 3 🌟🥃

Cute, but again, overly cheesy and nothing special. They were both adorably awkward in the beginning, but once they get to the dare portion, their personalities completely flip and it just felt like I was reading a different story.

CWs (spoilers):
- Mutual crush
- Body shots
- No sex scenes

💋Kiss Me Quick! by Zoe Piper 3 🌟💋

Cute beginning, sappy ending. Very sweet and low-angst.
Not my fave, but not horrible either.

CWs (spoilers):
- College setting
- Frotting

Oh hey! 👋 If you got all the way down here, thanks for reading! Here’s some positive vibes for ya ✨

i only read one story so i won’t rate

so it goes by rikki leighton - ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

HOLY F!!!!!!!! never thought i’d see the day an anthology short got 5 stars from me but omg!!!!! this really quenched my ever present thirst for besties to lovers….ugh bash and teddy have such NATURAL chemistry, it’s so fucking heady….like how can they pull off playful and sexy at the same time, THEY’RE TOO CUTE!!!!!! had me cheesing the whole time😩😩😩 plus dash is a whole moment, just chases after whatever feels good, no thoughts bout it, and teddy feels good to him, like physically yes, but also definitely emotionally, tho it takes a minute for him to realize that the level of “emotionally” is boyfriend levels🤣🤣

“Over the last two years, what I’ve learned is you have to be direct with Dash. Boulder to the head level direct.”

like HE’S AN OBLIVIOUS DUMMY??????😍😍😍😍 heart palpitations!!!!!

ending felt kinda rushed (novella probs) but i’m satisfied with where they’re at. but like, now i’m super curious about link and kai…..i hope the author plans to expand this universe bc i need stories about them too !!💓

My full review of the anthology is going to come soon as I finish reading all the stories. But I barely read anything in the last months because the reading slump has been really kicking my ass and I am reading some short stories as a way to get back into reading.

I loved that the theme of this anthology was based around truth or dare and I thought it would be perfect easy short reads to get me back into reading full length books and I was right.

Propositioning the Boss by Courtney W. Dixon
Favorite quote: “Do you want me to claim you? To own your body? Do you want to hand yourself over to my control?”
Blurb:
Myles has been pining after his boss (Kane) for a while and he is dared to text him that he wants him, and while it’s very unprofessional, his boss agrees and they explore each other and their chances at a relationship.

My thoughts:
This was so much fun! I always like when both main characters just really want each other and nothing can stop them from going after what they want, it’s just so fun to read to me and it was so enjoyable in this one.

This was a really good mix of sweet and sexy and it was just an enjoyable read. I found myself really cheering for Myles and Kane and I wanted them to make it so badly.

This was a personal highlight of the anthology for me, I just had the most fun reading this one and it put the biggest smile on my face as I was reading it.

Please note this is a review for Courtney W. Dixon’s Propositioning the Boss short story.

Propositioning the Boss is a low angst, steamy MM boss/employee (personal assistant) romance. It’s told from a first person dual point of view and has a guaranteed happily ever after. It’s a short story featuring Kane and his personal assistant Myles. After a night of drinking with his friends, Myles is dared to text his boss Kane and tell him how much he wants him. Myles has had a crush on his boss for the last three years, but there’s no way Kane would want him back, right?

Courtney W. Dixon is such a versatile, talented author. She can pull off something incredibly dark and beautiful like His Bane, and then turn around with something short, steamy, incredibly sweet and low angst like Propositioning the Boss. This was just a fun and easy read! I loved how low angst it was because I could just settle in and enjoy the story. I always love a boss/employee romance, and the workplace element of it just made it so steamy with that forbidden aspect. The epilogue was so cute, and I adored seeing Myles and Kane together.
With my pants and underwear wrapped around my ankles, he leaned over me, consuming me in a heated kiss while his body and arms held me in a protective embrace. Like he would take what he wanted, but he would never let anything bad happen to me.

I received an ARC of this story from the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Game Night: Truth or Dare is a collection of short stories around characters coming together through – you guessed it – truth or date. As with all short story collections, this was a mixed bag for me. I think the big thing that made these stories hit or miss was the range in ages of the characters. The new adult stories read a lot better than the adult stories, as the latter often felt forced. Nevertheless, there is a range throughout that will have different stories appealing to different people.

Squirty Cream by Joe Satoria was a two-star rating. I will be honest and say that this was a rounded-down rating. While I enjoyed the essence of the story, I had a lot of trouble connecting with this one. I think this is one of those cases where the writing style did not really work for me. Not that it was bad in any specific way, it was just hard for me to connect. I am sure many will enjoy this story, though, as it contains many elements that are catnip to readers.

Secret Crushes and Sex Toys by Kota Quinn was a three-star rating. I’ll be honest and say that this was more of a rounded-down rating. I was really into it at first, but things felt too rushed for me at the end. I feel this is because of the story needing to be of a specific length, yet it did make it feel like the start was better explored than once everything came together after the game. I wanted more exploration of the elements introduced, rather than what happened – because, due to the speed, it did not entirely match with what I had learned about the characters. Nevertheless, this was a fun quick read.

Propositioning the Boss by Courtney W. Dixon was a three-star rating. I’ll be honest and say that this is another case where it was a rounded-down rating. I had fun with the story and found it super gripping, but I did feel like things were a bit too quick and easy. I can certainly see many adoring this, but I would have liked to understand the background between the characters a bit more before jumping in the deep end with them. This is largely a personal preference thing, though, as the story was a fun one that I did enjoy.

Healing Bruises by Travis Beaudoin was a four-star rating. I will be honest and say I was a wee bit tentative about this at first, simply because of the type of story. I feared the way things would play out, but that fear was quickly shown to be unfounded. I adored the story and the characters, had so much fun watching the way things developed in such a short time. Although a quick read, it packs plenty of punches throughout, ensuring I adored it. It quickly earned the spot of my top read thus far, ensuring I am curious about other work from the author.

Size Queen by R.A. Frick was a three-star rating. I will be honest and say that this is a three-point-five-star rating that I rounded down. It was a fun story that was very over the top, but I enjoyed that about it. It was too much in the right way, which ensured I could not put it down. The reason I rounded my rating down was due to personal preference. One of my pet peeves is when the same moments are shown in back-to-back chapters to show what the other character is thinking. If it is something huge, it is fine. However, this did it often when it was unnecessary, and such is one of my pet peeves. I am sure many will not mind and will adore the fun story, but I rounded my rating down because of this.

Exposed by SA Sway, which is a novella in the Red Lights Boys series, was a four-star rating. I will be honest and say I was a wee bit tentative when I realised this was linked to a series. I feared it would be one of those cases where I was lost without other information, or that it would overload me with too much and leave me hanging, but such was not the case. This was such a fun read. I quickly fell for the characters and their story, and I could not get enough of the way things developed. It packed punch after punch and has ensured I am eager for more of this series.

Bangers by RS McKenzie was a three-star rating. This is one of those stories where there were elements that I loved, especially with all the drama that could have played out. Sadly, for me, it was the wrong kind of drama. It was an entertaining read that had me hooked throughout, yet the elements that came together for the conclusion felt a bit forced to me. I expected a bit more of a kick from this one, which is why there were occasional three-point-five-star moments, yet it was not enough for me to give it a higher rating.

So It Goes by Rikki Leighton was a three-star rating. This was a story where I adored the characters and had so much fun with the antics. While I adored the characters, things felt a bit forced with the storyline and there were some elements that were not explained as well as I had hoped. I wanted to understand the bigger picture a lot more with this to truly love it, which is why this was more of a three-point-five-star rating in the end. It was fun, yet it did not suck me in deeply enough for me to love it. I can certainly see many adoring it, though.

More Than a Secret by Nic Starr was a two-star rating. This is one of those cases where I think I was not the right reader for the story. It just felt too easy for me, and I felt like most of it happened off-page. Things jumped from one to the next, and I was more interested in what was happening in the time between than what was happening in the moments shown. I can see people enjoying it, but it did not hold my attention in the way I had hoped.

Take the Shot RM Neill was a three-star rating. I had fun with this one, but I do feel like the personality of the characters changed far too quickly. It went from nothing to everything, which did not make sense with what we knew about the characters. It was certainly a fun one, but it was not one that I found very believable. Due to this, my rating was impacted somewhat.

Kiss Me Quick by Zoe Piper, which is a Larkspur short story, was a three-star rating. This was a story that was very easy to power through, but things happened a little too quickly for my liking. It was fun to explore the bigger picture, but the timeline was constantly in the back of my mind and left me wishing there had been a bit more added to it. I can see many enjoying it, but it was not quite everything I had expected.

All in all, I had clear favourites with this, but I can see each story appealing to different readers. If nothing else, it was a nice introduction to some new-to-me authors.

I enjoy anthologies so much. The different styles from the authors and their takes on a common theme is so fun to read. Plus, there is usually at least one new to me author to discover.

Squirty Cream
By Joe Satoria
This was a fun read. A little vulnerability and lots of steam.
Secret Crushes and Sex Toys
By Kota Quinn
OMG this was so a wonderful sweet read. These guys are so adorable. I want more of their story.
Propositioning the Boss
By Courtney W. Dixon
This is how you do boss/employee romances. A perfect blend of sweet, funny, and sexy.
Healing Bruises
By Travis Beaudoin
As I started reading this I didn’t think it was going to be that great. I was wrong. It was so good but l ft me wanting more.
Size Queen
By R. A. Frick
I loved this. Miles and Shane’s story has that fairytale feel with a wonderful dirty twist. And we get to see some familiar faces.
Exposed
By SA Sway
This is a new to me author and I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. I don’t tend to like enemies to lovers but here it worked. I’d love an expanded version of their story.
Bangers
By RS McKenzie
I enjoyed the all the characters in this one. Well except for Atlas but he was a good villain. I’d love to see more of this world.
So It Goes
By Rikki Leighton
I’m not a big reader of YA but this one was really good. I definitely need more though.
More Than A Secret
By Nic Starr
Friends to lovers is one of my favorite tropes. This was so good. I love Henry and Austin.
Take the Shot
By RM Neill
OMG this was so good. Caleb and Malcolm are adorable. And I got to see Sasha again. Amazing.
Kiss Me Quick!
By Zoe Piper
I loved it. I’ve only read one book by this author besides this but I’m definitely going back to read more.
This is what I call a major win of an anthology. You’d think that with this many authors and stories at least one would not be as enjoyable or have a trope I don’t like as much. Nope they all were great, even the one that isn’t my preferred reading was. This is the best way to feel out an author’s writing style. And I’m thinking you will be pleasantly surprised by what they delivered here. I highly recommend it.

1. Squirty Cream by Joe Astoria - 4.75 stars
"I dare you to lick squirty cream off of Alex's body."
Drug to a rugby party where is crush is, Leo and his friend join in a group of spin the bottle with a twist of truth or dare, and Leo is dared to lick the cream off his crush, Alex. When the date is then turned around from Alex to Leo, the couple take their continuing party upstairs to Alex's room. Alex is newly bi, so is inexperienced with men, but the boys work through all the awkwardness to enjoy their time together. Their epilogue leading into the end of the school year is sweet; talking about their living plans for the next year.
Sticky, sweet, spicy fun. Humor and interfering friends. Great read!
2. Secret Crushed and Sex Toys by Kota Quinn - 5 stars
Lawson is crushing hard on Victor, who by all accounts is his boss's boyfriend (he's not). Victor is a private chef, bringing his MOM lunches twice a week. When Law is called to tell the truth about his sex toy collection at a birthday party attended by both Victor and Law's cheating ex, his embarrassment pulls him from the party, but helps to push him into a relationship with Victor, who has been secretly crushing on Law as well.
Both MCs are sweet, shy, and thoughtful. One virgin MC with a LOT of experience with his toys. Super spicy fun!
3. Propositioning the Boss by Courtney W. Dixon - 4.75
Myles spent 3 years crushing on his boss, Kane, only to have his best friend dare to proposition him via text at a party. When Kane responds in the positive, and indicates he's had similar feelings for Myles the whole time too, it takes very little time to heat up between the dominant boss and his willing sub.
Spicy, spanking & light kink. Smart businessmen MCs
4. Healing Bruises by Travis Beaudoin - 4 stars
Ollie & Ben share an ex in common, and unfortunately, Ollie's under the impression that Ben stole said ex from him. Dared to give his nemesis a hickey, Ollie seems to have intrigued and attracted Ben and the two leave their party to explore these new feelings. They realize they have much more in common than they think, and learn they mesh very well together.
Cocky and angry theatre nerd. Bulkier cinnamon roll. Minor age gap.
5. Size Queen by R.A. Frick - 4 stars
Miles is a total size queen, and Shane is super self conscious about his larger than average package. Through a mutual set of friends, the duo meet at a party and enjoy a very short lived hookup. Shane has to leave suddenly for a family emergency, so the two don't see each other again for a couple weeks. Shane discovers that Miles has created a comic based on his want of Shane and they each begin to seek the other out. The HEA felt a tad unfinished, but overall a fun tale.
6. Exposed by S.A. Sway - 4 stars
Jonas has hated Peter since they'd first met, under the impression that Peter was homophobic. During a game of Truth or Dare, Peter asks Jonas if he's ever made a sex tape, and though Jonas says No, Peter doesn't believe him. We learn that Jonas has indeed been making cam videos when Peter walks in on him during a filming. Peter joins in, and things quickly get heated between them. Jonas realizes that he's far more successful with his videos if Peter helps him out, and neither of them are going to say no to that. When we learn the real reason why Jonas felt immediate dislike and that it was an uncomfortably unfortunate misunderstanding, the pair become much closer and we see them feel like a real couple by the end.
Bi-awakening. Toys.
7. Bangers by RS McKenzie - 4 Stars
Derek's roommate dares him to blow someone at the club they're going to, and he zeroes in on Keith. It's discovered after the fact that Keith is in fact the father of Derek's best friend, Evan. Worrying over each of their relationships with Evan, the pair hide their attraction and relationship. It's a little dicey after Derek's cheating ex reveals the relationship to Evan, but after talking it all out, there's nothing but happy smiles full of love.
Age gap. Best friend's dad. Evil ex.
8. So It Goes by Rikki Leighton - 4 stars
Dash & TK have been roommates and teammates for a couple years. TK has harbored feelings for Dash for some time, but has never acted on them, under the common presumption that Dash is straight. When Dash dares TK to skinny dip with him at the school's pool, hands go roaming a bit, and Dash starts to wonder if he might be interested in something more physical with his good friend. There is some low angst struggle between them regarding their feelings. Because they are only 18, there isn't a full-on HEA for this story, but it ends as the pair deciding to make it boyfriend official.
High school, sweet, silly fun.
9. More Than A Secret by Nic Starr - 4.5 stars
Austin took Henry under his wing when he moved into town a couple years ago. Henry fell for Austin quickly, but Austin admits it took seeing Henry for a while to examine him in a new light. During Truth or Dare, Austin admits his truth that he has been thinking that he'd like to kiss Henry. The two friends set out for a picnic where Henry then dares Austin to kiss him. With very little angst and another schemed round of Truth or Dare, Henry confesses his love for Austin, and the pair happily slide into their HEA.
Tour boat captain & bar owner. Meddling friends.
10. Take the Shot by RM Neill - 4.5 stars
Short, sweet, and a little spicy, Malcom and Caleb's story of two businesses across the street from one another makes you believe that anything can happen on a great first date. And that whipped cream makes everything better.
11. Kiss Me Quick! by Zoe Piper - 5 stars
The finale for Game Night brings together Wil & Ben in a dare where Wil is told to kiss the next person that walks through the door at a frat party. Luckily, Ben is that perfect person. While they began the kiss as strangers, they ended that evening wanting more. The continued family shenanigans make the story tons of fun!
Two very sweet and artistic MCs, instant connection. Crazy extended and found family.

I have provided my honest opinion of these stories for early release access.

This anthology was just ok for me. The premis of the game night with Truth or Dare had promise but it's maybe a hard concept to deliver. A lot of the stories had the game feeling out of place and not really fitting with characters and ages, a couple weren't really "games" and a few just felt stilted. There were a couple where the games did fit rather well and the rest of the story was also good.

My favorite was probably "Size Queen" by R.A. Frick. There were a lot of characters from another series, the group was a mix of ages and consent with the game (and everything else) was a key feature. I kind of want this one extended since I like the characters so much.

My second favorite was "Exposed by SA Sway. It hit so many tropes in such a short story that it was fun. There are a few things with this story that I wasn't very happy with. The first was unprotected s*x without any talks about safety. The second was non-consensual posting of a s*x video online. Those are things that are highly annoying and took away from the story and it's a favorite only because of everything else being entertaining.

* ARC review for So It Goes by Rikki Leighton *

4 stars

This story is about Dash and TK who are teammates and roommates in a private school. One dare kinda brings them together but now Dash wants to see TK naked more and taste him and also knowing TK is a virgin makes him want to take all his first.
Their chemistry was so freaking amazing and they were so sweet and equally hot together, I enjoyed their moments so much. Even though this was a short novella it was the best and if the author decides to write Dash and TK as a whole-length novel, I'll be looking forward to it.

I recommend you to check out this story and other books by this author as well.

ARC Review of Propositioning the Boss by Courtney W. Dixon

This was just such a cute and sexy read leaving me wanting more!

This boss/employee novella took me for a nice surprise with just the right amount of plot to keep me hooked. The two MCs were lovely, the connection between them the right mix of sweet and hot!

I didnt expect the light sub/dom vibes which was just an added plus. Nothing like some office spanking! Myles and Kane were so hot together. And that epilogue? My Word, it just rounded up the story perfectly 🩷🩷

Huge shout out to Courtney for giving me everything I needed in 12k — that takes real talent, you guys.

Highly recommend if you need a little swoon and smut before bedtime 🫦🫦😍😍

This review is for Take the Shot by RM Neill. This was a cute, sexy, fast moving story. Definitely ended up differently than I was expecting since the characters started off so shy with each other. I did love that it took place in the same world as Beauty and the Beard. It’s always hard with short stories as it just moves too fast and no epilogue which is such a hard thing for me. But if you’re looking for a fun, easy to read short story then I’d recommend.

Game Night, Truth or Dare is a MM anthology with stories written by multiple authors. It's an anthology full of sweet, sexy and (very) well written short stories. They all have a game of truth or dare. Some go for truth and some go for dare. I liked all of the stories so this made it a great anthology for me.

My favorites were Secret Crushes and Sex Toys by Kota Quinn and Propositioning the Boss by Courtney W. Dixon. These two were really well written and so sweet, sexy and cute. I would love full stories (hint hint XD).

But yeah overall a great anthology with great reads. You can read them in 1 go or read the stories between other books. Whatever you want.

✨A review of Courtney W. Dixon’s entry for this Anthology ✨

“Propositioning the Boss” is a short but sweet story of unexpected consequences of a drunken game of truth or dare. Jules knows that her friend Myles has a longtime crush on his boss but can’t confess because of his work ethic. She completely ignores his protests and dares him to text Mr Harrington and explicitly let him know his secret intentions towards him. After a minute of hesitation Myles decides to go for it because he has nothing to loose since he wants to leave PA’s job and start his own business. Mr Harrington is confused by the naughty text of his employee but still goes to meet him because it turns out Myles was not the only one with secret intentions.

Though it’s a short story, it’s well developed and not once felt rushed. Courtney follows through with Myles and Kane’s relationship development from start to finish. And they’re so funny, sweet and kinky together. The grand finale put a huge smile on my face.

Sometimes we need to follow the rules of the game to break our own, to break out of the shell that makes us be cautious and afraid of feeling ridiculous or even getting hurt. After all you still have a 50% change of success.

Game Night Anthology will release on April 12. If the rest of the stories are as good as Courtney’s then it will be golden.

Joe Satoria - Squirty Cream - 3 stars. Pleasant read, mostly smut.
Kota Quinn - Secret Crushes and Sex Toys - 4.5 stars. Good plot for a short story and very appealing characters.
Courtney W Dixon - Propositioning the Boss - 3.5 stars. I particularly liked boss/employee only happened once the employee was already leaving, as I'm not a fan of that sort of power imbalance.
Travis Beaudoin - Healing Bruises - 4 stars. Using this game to open communications was a good plot, I really liked the depth of the characters for a short story.
RA Frick - Size Queen - 4 stars. Enjoyable story with a very well fitting ending.

Courtney W. Dixon draws you in no matter the length of her books! Propositioning the Boss was a quick, sweet and spicy read. Myles gets coaxed into (finally) making a move on his boss, Kane, even though he has no clue what to expect. The turn of events were a shocking surprise in the best way!

Game Night: Truth Or Dare
Anthology

This was an easy read, with low angst, and varying levels of burn but definite steam each each story you read. These 11 short stories were written by 11 awesome writers. Different scenarios for each game night with a different highlighted dare or truth from younger college-age adults to older adults all is fair in these games of dare. I enjoyed all of these stories., but will highlight just a few of them.

Propositioning the Boss
By: Courtney W. Dixon

This short story is both light and entertaining with mutual pining, an age-gap workplace romance. A story with no angst, a bit of steam. A story of being daring enough to make choices that could be good and rewarding even if scary and unnerving. Neither of these MCs dares to ruin their working relationship until one is dared to proposition his boss. Can dreams little and small come true in this story, are you daring enough to find out?

Secret Crushes and Sex Toys
By: Kota Quinn.

in this short, we visit Olivia Cove, a sweet little town, the perfect setting for our low angst, game of truth or dare, where someone tries to embarrass, shame, and harass one of our shy MCs. Our two MCs are both shy yet different both have secrets that both surprise and spark off more office speculation, jealousy, and a surprise that nullifies all the speculation of what the boss's secret meetings are all about. When the new guy to town has a secret crush and what he was hoping was a secret collection, can they both change his life?

When the shy man just wants to make sure someone he loves takes care of themself, will the office be surprised at who he really is? Can a game of dare shame one or will it backfire and show their strength and daring to be honest? Can the same game help to find the right one to be yourself with and give of yourself, or will you be honest and then run?

So It Goes
By: Rikki Leighton

When roommates and teammates are very different. We have a bit of an awakening, we have proximity, and we have a first-time aspect to our little story. This was one of the angstier of our stories with the bit of family drama one of our MCs has to deal with but all in all, it's still low-level.

Again I enjoyed all the stories in this anthology. All our MCs are daring enough to live their truths when choosing truth and honest enough to fill all their dare when taking their dares. Can you say the same if in their place?

Great short stories

I loved these short stories because they're all so different.
A few stood out to me.

Bangers by RS McKenzie
A dare from his roommate leads
Derek to an explosive encounter at a club with Kieth.
When they meet again they discover they've bast friend and father to Evan.
Initially they try to just be friends but the connection and passion between them is overwhelming.
They find themselves drawn to one another, spending time together, getting to know one another and slowly falling for each other.
They're both worried about how Evan will react when they finally tell him about their developing relationship.
When they're outed by Derek's nasty ex, Evan is hurt and angry.
Thankfully he's able to deal with it well.

Secret Crushes and Sex Toys by Kota Quinn

Sadly, he believes he has no chance with him but Victor feels the same and has been trying to find the right way to approach him.

Lawson becomes brave turns the tables on them, taking a potentially embarrassing moment and owning it.
Victor is immediately protective and incredibly proud of him.

Exposed by SA Sway
Peter is a really sweet guy who just naturally cares for others but he's also insecure and just wants everyone to like him.
His roommate Jonas is his best friends brother and has always been cold and standoffish with him which has wrecked havoc for him.
Coming to grips with the realization that he's attracted to Jonas just throws a monkey wrench into the mix.
An angry outburst has Peter walking in on Jonas in a compromising situation and discovering his suspicions that he's doing cam work.
It also leads to Peter issuing a dare that Jonas accepts.
They have an explosive encounter that has Jonas cursing the universe because he now actually gets to know and like Peter.
He also discovers that the reason for his animosity towards Peter was based on a completely misconstrued moment.

I snatched up this anthology without really looking too closely at the theme, and it turns out, it's mostly not for me. Still, I read and enjoyed a few of the stories! Here we go...

🚫 SQUIRTY CREAM by Joe Satoria ---
Skipped.

👍 SECRET CRUSHES AND SEX TOYS by Kota Quinn ⭐⭐⭐
3 STARS. Cute, but a little "meh." I skipped the last chapter and don't usually rate stories that I DNF, but I did get through the entire story, just skipped the sex at the end because honestly, I just didn't care. 🤷‍♀️

👍 PROPOSITIONING THE BOSS by Courtney W. Dixon ⭐⭐⭐
3 STARS, although again, I technically DNF'd this. It was fun enough, if not totally my jam, but I actually only read through Chapter 4 because I just wasn't in the mood for D/s (which it appeared was what the rest of the story consisted of).

👍 HEALING BRUISES by Travis Beaudoin ⭐⭐⭐
3 STARS. This one was actually really cute! I almost skipped it because enemies-to-lovers is my least favorite trope, but since I'm reading through in order, so far, this is my fave (although again, I skipped the sex just because... eh, not in the mood.)

🚫 SIZE QUEEN by R.A. Frick ---
Skipped.

🚫 EXPOSED by SA Sway ---
Skipped.

🚫 BANGERS by RS McKenzie ---
Skipped.

👍 SO IT GOES by Rikki Leighton ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
5 STARS! Oh wow!!! 🥰 I admit I was getting a little discouraged as I flipped through these in order since none of them were really to my taste, but THIS (new-to-me author) was totally worth picking up the anthology for!!! ALL the stars. So damn sweet I'm still smiling. ❤️

🚫 MORE THAN A SECRET by Nic Starr ---
Skipped.

👍 TAKE THE SHOT by RM Neill ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
5 STARS! Awww 🥰🥰🥰 This was another super sweet read! And I definitely want to pick up more by this new-to-me author. This is 100% what I love anthologies for!!!

🚫 KISS ME QUICK! by Zoe Piper ---
Skipped.

Anthologies are always fun! Favorite authors to reconnect with along with new authors to find. This entire anthology was a lot of fun to read. Here are a few of the stories that really hit with me.

Take the shot Malcom & Caleb
Such a sweet swoony and sexy novella. I smiled through the entire story; it is so cute you can’t help it. I just absolutely loved both Malcolm & Caleb. They were fabulous characters and you just wanted everything positive for them. Then there’s Mrs. Green, even though she's a bit/side character she steals the show! I so want to grow old and be like Mrs. Green!!

Squirt Cream Leo & Alex
Sweet college story of actually getting to be with your crush. Leo and Alex really connected the first time they get together. Never did Leo expect he’d land his crush, but one game of truth or dare later and dreams do come true!

Secret Crushes and sex toys. Noah & Victor
Oh, I wish this was longer! I’m definitely going to back checking out the series this comes from to get the rest of these stories! I immediately fell in love with both characters and even with the story being short it didn’t feel rushed at all! Just a fun, hot romance read!

Propositioning the boss Myles & Kane
Super-hot boss/employee story with a touch of BDSM thrown in. It was a fun story, that draws you in quickly and makes you care about the characters.

Size Queen Miles & Shane
Fire level heat in this story! The chemistry and the kink are smoking! Really enjoyed reading this one. Both Shane & Miles had past relationship issues and never felt they would find ‘the one’. But once they meet each other they find out what others didn’t like in the past is perfect for each other.

The key, I've found, in enjoying an anthology is expecting only to like some of the stories. If you want to like all of them, this is a poor choice, as the quality is very uneven. Some of the complication comes from the theme -- although I like the plot possibilities of a Truth or Dare game, reading 11 stories with the same idea is too much. And it works much better with younger characters, who have to be handled carefully.

I didn't read any of the stories labeled as tied into existing franchises, except the final one, "Kiss Me Quick!", which was cute, explained everything well enough, and made me interested in seeing more of the series (although I find reading about a rock star's kid more interesting that rock star romance).

I enjoyed "Bangers", a tale of a college student finding himself dating his best friend's dad after a quickie club hookup. "Size Queen" was also entertaining, as a naked party manages to hook up someone who loves big dicks with someone with a huge one. "Healing Bruises" brought a nice level of character development to two guys realizing that they had more in common with each other than with their mutual ex.

The others were either of no interest or actively bad. The first, "Squirty Cream", was so so bad it was a terrible choice to start the book, because it almost made me give up on the whole thing. Perhaps with my being able to finish only four out of eleven, I should give this two stars, but I liked the ones I did finish well enough. (I was given a free digital ARC for review.)

Like any anthology, this book was a mixed bag. There were definitely some stories where I know I will read another book from that author, and there were some stories that just made me cringe.
Squirty Cream by Joe Satoria - 3⭐: Not my favorite, but it was ok. I would give Satoria a second chance.
Secret Crushes and Sex Toys by Kota Quinn - 4⭐: I felt like this one had the most potential to be a really good full length book. I actually like both of the main characters and their story line.
Propositioning the Boss by Courtney W. Dixon - 2.5⭐: I don’t have any real beef with this one, but overall it just didn’t do it for me.
Healing Bruises by Travis Beaudoin - 3.5⭐: This one was actually pretty good. I am interested in seeing what else Beaudoin has to offer.
Size Queen by R.A. Frick - 3⭐: I didn’t hate it, but I didn’t want any more from it. I would give Frick a second look though.
Exposed by SA Sway - 4⭐: This was another one that I would be willing to do a full length of. I like both MC’s and their story.
Bangers by RS McKenzie - 1⭐: NO
So It Goes by Rikki Leighton - 2.5⭐: Another one that was just so so for me. I just couldn’t connect with this story.
More Than a Secret by Nic Starr - 3.5⭐: This was a ok/nice addition. I didn’t want any more from these characters, but I would give Starr a second go around.
Take the Shot RM Neill - 4⭐: This was another cute one. I will be giving Neill a second read for sure.
Kiss Me Quick by Zoe Piper - 4⭐: This was a good ending to the anthology. I really like the MC’s, and would read a full length book about them.

Dare to blow some stranger in a nightclub well Derek did and now he has a problem because it is his best friend’s father. Derek has always wanted a relationship with an older man that has a dad bod. Wants to settle down even though he’s in his early 20s. He want Someone to take care of him, treat him right and not hurt him. What I like about Derek he doesn’t want to tarnish the relationship between Keith and his son Evan. Both of them want so much more than to be friends with one another. Keith is a divorced Father that moves closer to his son to his son because he wants to spend more time with him. After meeting Derek at a nightclub he wants to know more about him. What I like about Keith is he loves his son and cares about Derek Who would stand up to anyone that would hurt them. I like that Derek gives Keith The confidence he needs. Because he was very worried About himself having a bigger body. I like the fact that they both got what they wanted to find someone that they care about and finally have someone of their own. I really enjoyed reading this short story you get a lot of drama, love, and funny parts.
Game Night Truth & Dare MM Anthology
All of these short stories are amazing. You get drama, funny moments, instant love and so much more. From these amazing stories I discovered so many new authors that I cannot wait to read there other stories they have written.

This is short steamy workplace romance that happens by chance due to a game a truth or dare. Myles is dared to tell is boss of 3 years how he really feels about him. You never know how game night will end if you don’t take the dare. You won’t want to miss this short steamy story!!

Joe Satoria - Squirty Cream

Leave it to a rugby party to finally get the chance to do something with your long-time crush. It’s all thanks to a can of Squirty cream and a spin the bottle type truth and dare game.

Kota Quinn - Secret Crushes and Sex Toys

Lawson has a secret crush who thinks is his boss' boyfriend. But that could not be further from the truth. You are not going to want to miss this cute story.

Nic Starr - More Than A Secret

This is a story of how two friends move to being more than friends after a game of truth and dare revels one has feelings for the other. There are some melding friends who help put the relationship alone.

Zoe Piper - Kiss Me Quick

This was a grouping of eleven stories all revolving around playing a game of Truth or Dare. Each story was just long enough to allow each jewel to shine. I can never look at "squirt cream" (I assume that is whipped cream in America) the same after Joe Satoria's story. I never realized the power of a hickey before Travis' "Healing Bruises". R.A. Frick's "Size Queen" shows size does matter and S.A. Sway's "Exposed" finds love with a cam boy and his brother's BF. Nic Starr's "More than a Secret" and Rikki Leighton's "So it Goes" have friends becoming more than friends after dares. Strangers become friends, than more after dares in "Take the Shot" by RM Neil and "Kiss me Quick" by Zoe Piper. "Bangars" by RS McKenzie has a Dad and a son's BF falling for each other after a dared sexual act. I loved Kota Quin's "Secret Crushes and Sex Toys" when he turned an embarrassing truth into a date with the future love of his life. And my favorite was Courtney Dixon's "Propositioning the Boss". Not only was the steamy novella about a hot Boss and his PA but it also included spanking, domming and office hi-jinks. I truly wished it was a longer book as I was so into it. All the stories were entertaining, by your favorite authors and I enjoyed the fun and bravery that the games brought out in the couples. This is one of the better anthologies I have read later.
