The Brown Sisters was an amazing, yet raunchy, trilogy. I listened to it via audio book and it was most engaging. Not my typical style but still very much enjoyed it.
Get a Life Chloe Brown, follows the eldest sister Chloe, as she decided to make her unique version of a bucket list. After a near death experience, she decides to add some adventure and enjoyment into her life to enhance her memories. Oddly, Chloe manages to enlist the help of Redford, her current landlord to help her complete her list. They have a series of misunderstandings that leads to cute nicknames and a baecation.
In this story, we are introduced to all three sisters. We get to see how strong their relationship and connections are to each other as well as to their grandmother, Gigi. It is a great representation of a true sisterhood.
Take a Hint Dani Brown, follows the middle sister Danica, as she embraces her "witchly" powers to find someone to fulfill her needs. A freak accident of getting trapped in an elevator during a fire drill leads her down a journey to moving past friendship with someone she was mistakenly reported to be dating. Dani & Zaf must fight through their feelings, their personal beliefs, and dealing with their personal circle to determine if they could truly be the best thing for each other.
The one thing I liked least about this book was that we see less of the Brown sisters. Their inclusion often seems as an after thought instead of the strong bond witnessed in Chloe's story.
Act Your Age Eve Brown, follows the youngest sister Eve, as she is forced to grow up. Eve was lured into an intervention where she was given an ultimatum to find her own source of income and her own place to live. Blindsided, Eve essentially runs away and accidentally ends up on an interview. The story unfolding around Eve and Jacob is truly just a comedy of errors.
This was probably my favorite story of the three just because it kept me laughing all the way through. It truly proves that all anyone ever needs is someone that understands them or at least allows them to be their true, authentic self.
I cannot wait for this trilogy to be made into the Brown Sisters Life Changes movie. It will be beautiful to see these sisters brought to life as well as their grandmother, Gigi. I would also say it would be worth it to have a book written about Gigi's life or just like a social media thread where we get her opinions and thoughts on ... life... it would be amazing!
